My Boss Transmigrated Into a Maid and I Became Gay - Chapter 23
The helicopter took off. Unlike the real world, there was no deafening roar inside the cabin; the captain even played some elegant light music for them.
Mr. Grumpy stared out the window, his face a landscape of gloom. With a look like that, people would believe he was on his way to a funeral.
Lu Ying felt a bit dejected. Although she’d successfully made it to the amusement park with the maid, the romantic atmosphere felt a little lacking.
It was all Mr. Grumpy’s fault!
Everything in this world was exaggeratedly huge. According to the captain, it would take forty minutes to reach their destination. With nothing to do on the way, Lu Ying figured she’d play a game with the maid to kill time.
She pressed the service button and asked a staff member for a stack of paper and two pens. Once she had them, she turned to the maid beside her. “Want to play a game?”
“What kind of game?”
“Tic-tac-toe,” Lu Ying said. She drew two horizontal and two vertical lines on the blank paper, creating a grid. “You draw X’s in the boxes, and I’ll draw O’s. Any three identical symbols in a straight line wins.”
“Alright, I understand.”
Lu Ying’s competitive spirit flared. She rubbed her hands together. “Come on, then. You’re X. You go first.”
A long, long time ago—probably back in middle school—Jian Qin had played this with her seatmate. Such a simple game for two was indeed a great way to pass the time.
But… how would a noble young mistress in a Mary Sue world know such a “down-to-earth” game?
Jian Qin took the pen, propped her chin on her hand, and drew an X in the bottom-left corner.
“My turn.” Lu Ying thought for a moment and drew an O right in the center.
The Eldest Brother’s brow furrowed. “What about me?” he asked.
Lu Ying spared him a sliver of attention. “You want to play too?”
Mr. Grumpy didn’t answer, but his eyes remained glued to their paper.
“But this is a game for two.” Lu Ying looked a bit conflicted. She thought for a second, then pressed the service button to call a staff member. “You play with Mr. Grum—I mean, you play with my brother.”
The Eldest Brother stared at his cold, heartless sister in disbelief. What?!
He should be under the helicopter, not inside it!
His melancholy reached new heights. The staff member looked at the situation and asked cautiously, “Young Master, do you need me to play with you?”
The Eldest Brother ignored him. Seeing the two across from him playing happily, their giggles drifting into his ears, he turned his head in resentment. “Give me paper and a pen. I’ll play by myself—I want two pens!”
By the time Lu Ying and the maid had finished two rounds, she looked up to see her grumpy brother holding a pen in each hand. His left hand was drawing O’s while his right drew X’s, entertaining himself with a face full of sorrow.
Lu Ying: “…”
Seriously, why did you insist on coming along?
When they got tired of Tic-tac-toe, they switched to Gomoku. Since it was more difficult, the brother across from them couldn’t quite figure out how to play against himself. He dropped the pen in his left hand and started writing words with his right.
He alternated between gazing out at the scenery and looking down to write and sketch.
As the helicopter began to descend, Lu Ying finished a game with the maid. Hearing the captain’s landing announcement, she tucked the paper and pens away.
Mr. Grumpy took the opportunity to hand her the paper he’d been working on for half the flight, his eyes full of expectation.
What’s this?
Lu Ying took the paper and scanned it…
《The Lonely Helicopter》
I sit there
Watching the clouds outside the window
The clouds ask
Are you out here alone?
I say no
Look
I still have the lonely helicopter

Lu Ying: “…………”
What on earth is this garbage?!
Oh, right. Mr. Grumpy was a “literary youth.” This was presumably… a poem?
What kind of nonsense poem was this?!
Lu Ying wanted to laugh but felt bad doing so. She squeezed out a very conflicted expression and forced herself to say, “Tha… thank you for the… poem, Brother. It’s great. I… love it.”
The Eldest Brother hid a flash of pride in his eyes and acted nonchalant. “The inspiration just came to me.”
Lu Ying realized that although Mr. Grumpy always looked like he was mourning the world, he seemed to especially love being praised. Feeling she’d been a bit too cold to him during the trip, she used the poem as an excuse to shower him with flowery compliments.
Fortunately, Mr. Grumpy finally looked a little bit happier.
As they got closer to the ground, Lu Ying looked out the window. An amusement park the size of a city came into view.
…
Holy s**t.
Is that skyscraper-high drop tower for real?!
The cabins on the Ferris wheel are big enough to host parties!
A roller coaster built like that would actually kill someone!
The most ridiculous part was the hedge maze. Even with a map, she’d probably die of thirst and hunger in there!
When Lu Ying wrote the amusement park, she only thought about describing magnificent castles and beautiful scenery for photos. She had no idea the actual attractions would turn out this absurd…
But there was something even more ridiculous.
The helicopter landed on the pad outside the park. As her feet hit solid ground, her knees went weak. Just as they were landing, she’d seen shark fins swimming in the “Ocean Park” area.
To her embarrassment, she’d had a phobia of sharks since she was a kid.
Seeing the Young Mistress suddenly tilt, Jian Qin quickly supported her. “Is the Miss unwell?”
Lu Ying obviously wouldn’t tell her something so humiliating. She insisted stubbornly, “No, I’m perfectly fine.”
With that, she secretly shook her jelly-like legs under her skirt.
Ugh, so scary!
Those were real! Living sharks!
Lu Ying didn’t dare think about it further and hurriedly diverted her attention.
A luxury car was waiting on the pad, presumably for their tour. This place was so massive that she probably wouldn’t even reach the front gate on foot.
The three of them got in and drove to the park entrance, where the car slowed to a halt. Hundreds of parade floats, thousands of clowns, and countless performers were waiting at the gate. Standing with the grinning park director, they were there to welcome the Young Mistress and Young Master of the An Group.
The window rolled down. Lu Ying poked her head out to see a horde of clowns with face paint blowing balloons and doing somersaults, every single one of them grinning at her.
She shuddered, nearly letting out a “Holy s**t.”
The scene was so terrifying it was almost lethal. This wasn’t a Mary Sue world; this was a horror-themed amusement park map!
She covered her eyes and pulled her head back into the car. Jian Qin was also startled by the display outside. Seeing the Young Mistress looking frightened, she reached out and gently patted her back.
“They’re just trying to make you happy. Don’t be afraid.”
Lu Ying would have been fine after a moment on her own, but the maid’s gentle comfort made her feel sentimental. She shamelessly threw herself into the maid’s arms with a whimper. “That scared me to death!”
The dream she’d had for years suddenly crashed into her embrace. Jian Qin’s hand stiffened for a second, but she didn’t push her away. Instead, she kept patting her and whispering, “Don’t be afraid.”
Seeing his sister scared, the Eldest Brother immediately ordered the director to chase the clowns away, leaving only the floats and performers to line the path.
Only then did Lu Ying leave the maid’s soft embrace and look outside again. The performers on the floats were vigorously throwing flower petals and candy, shouting “Welcome, Young Mistress!” and “Welcome, Eldest Young Master An!”
The car moved through this rain of sweets and petals. Hearing the constant pitter-patter on the roof, Lu Ying gradually adopted the same worried expression as Mr. Grumpy.
What should I do? I’m so worried the roof or windows will get smashed.
The people outside were too enthusiastic. Lu Ying waved her hand at them, trying to tell them to stop throwing things. However, the staff thought the Young Mistress was greeting them. They instantly became even more hyped and threw even harder.
“…”
Lu Ying had no choice but to have the driver roll up the windows to avoid getting hit in the face. These NPCs really couldn’t read the room!
Finally, they drove past the welcoming committee and officially entered the park. Lu Ying let out a sigh of relief. Looking down to straighten her dress, she found a few pieces of candy that had been tossed into the car. One had landed right on her lap.
She picked it up, took the maid’s hand, and placed the candy in her palm. “This looks okay. Try it.”
The Eldest Brother watched them silently, not saying a word.
Sensing the gloom from the other side, Lu Ying quickly picked up another piece from the floor and turned to hand it to Mr. Grumpy. “You have one too, Brother.”
Eldest Brother: “…”
Why is HIS candy from the floor?!
Jian Qin had reached out to block the candy from hitting the Young Mistress earlier and happened to catch one. Seeing that the Young Mistress didn’t have any for herself yet, she gave it to her. “Miss, I have one too.”
Wow, the maid really is the best to her!
Lu Ying took it with surprise, peeled the wrapper, and popped it into her mouth. It was her favorite strawberry milk candy.
Hehe.
So sweet!
