The news of the incident on set hit Weibo before Xu Zhuoyang had even fully processed what happened. Clearly, journalists had been lurking outside the filming location, and Li Sheng could not contain the leak.

Xu Zhuoyang injured while filming hung prominently at the top of the trending topics. The posts were filled with photos of police cars outside the set and images of Xu Zhuoyang being supported by Si Yan. Even in the dim light, the blood seeping through his fingers as he clutched his wound was shocking.

The man scrambled off the sofa, knelt on the ground, and grabbed the manager’s leg, weeping. “Brother Yu, I beg you, save me! I was momentarily possessed! I thought he would just land a few punches on Xu Zhuoyang to help me vent my anger. Who knew he would bring a knife to kill someone?”

Brother Yu sneered, gritting his teeth. “You are really lucky, are you not? Out of all the people to hire, you hired a wanted murderer. No matter what his actual intent was, in the eyes of the public, that man was trying to kill Xu Zhuoyang. If you are ever named as the mastermind, do not even talk about your acting career; you will be rotting in prison for the rest of your life.”

Li Peixin’s eyes were filled with terror.

A murderer. A murderer.

Suddenly, a thought occurred to him, and he frantically grabbed his manager’s pant leg. “Brother Yu! The contact for this guy was given to me by Mu Yuan!
