- Chapter 22 - Wife, Where to Kiss?
“…Think of a way yourself.”
Fu Jinxi raised her hand to cover her eyes, which were involuntarily reddened by her rising desire. She turned her head away, refusing to look at Gu Fei’s hand any longer. The more she looked, the more she wanted it.
But given the current situation, Gu Fei certainly wouldn’t satisfy her. It was better not to look.
Feeling both shamed and vexed, Fu Jinxi felt like everything was going against her today. According to her plan, she should have been spending a beautiful night with Gu Fei by now, instead of being squeezed into a car, feeling empty and uncomfortable while applying medicine.
“Then endure it for a bit, Senior.”
Gu Fei pressed a comforting kiss to her knee, coaxing Fu Jinxi in a soft voice. Then, she efficiently swapped to a fresh finger cot to resume applying the ointment.
“Mm…”
Fu Jinxi bit her lip silently, her body trembling slightly. As she felt herself on the verge of losing control, she instinctively reached out to keep Gu Fei close.
“Wait… just a moment is fine…”
Fearing that Gu Fei would leave regardless of her feelings, Fu Jinxi gripped a corner of her sleeve and stared at her with reddened eyes. “I didn’t do it on purpose… I can’t help it, Feifei.”
Meeting her gaze shyly, Gu Fei felt her heart soften. She leaned down and gently pulled the woman into her embrace.
“Are you okay?”
Her trapped wrist remained still. Gu Fei lowered her head and pressed light, blushing kisses to the corners of Fu Jinxi’s mouth. “I won’t leave… Does this make you feel a little better, Senior?”
Leaning in her arms with ragged breathing, Fu Jinxi gripped her wrist tight, nodding as she gasped with a flushed face. “Mm… as long as you’re here, I feel very good…”
Gu Fei let out a silent smile, stroking her back with a mix of pity and guilt. If she hadn’t been so stubborn about leaving the house earlier, perhaps Fu Jinxi wouldn’t have been injured, and she wouldn’t be suffering like this now.
Once Fu Jinxi had calmed down and given her consent, Gu Fei changed to a third finger cot to finish applying the medicine. This time, the process was relatively smooth. A somewhat satisfied Fu Jinxi leaned back against the seat, her eyes lingering affectionately on Gu Fei’s movements as she changed out of the cots.
As her face flushed involuntarily, a sudden realization struck her.
“You do it with Qin Qingwei in the car often, don’t you?”
Otherwise, why would there be so many spare finger cots in this car? While Gu Fei was focused on leaning over to apply the medicine, Fu Jinxi’s voice drifted down from above, carrying a faint, accusing tone. Though it was a question, her voice held an extreme level of certainty.
Gu Fei opened her mouth, then looked up to meet her gaze with a red face. If she counted the time just now, it had only been twice. It wasn’t “often.”
But facing the suspicion in Fu Jinxi’s eyes, Gu Fei didn’t know how to answer. If she denied it, she feared Fu Jinxi like Pei Yao would misunderstand and think she wasn’t a “proper” person. But if she nodded, she feared Fu Jinxi would get even angrier. After a few seconds of quick thinking, Gu Fei chose to remain silent.
“Hmph.”
Her silence only confirmed Fu Jinxi’s suspicions. She glanced at the box of finger cots nearby, feeling a surge of resentment. It felt like Qin Qingwei had managed to beat her to everything.
While she sulked, Gu Fei silently looked up with a red face. “Senior, you can’t cry anymore.”
If she kept crying, the ointment would be washed away before it even had a chance to work.
“I’ll cry if I want to.”
Fu Jinxi bit her lip and glared at her, turning on her side while simultaneously gripping Gu Fei’s wrist. “It’s fine as long as you don’t leave.”
Meeting Gu Fei’s surprised and shy gaze, Fu Jinxi let out a low, blushing hum. “Since your hand is covered in medicine anyway, just stay here and don’t move. Even if it gets ‘washed away,’ won’t it just stay right there?”
“…”
“Restrained” by her wife, Gu Fei was powerless to argue. She could only sit obediently by her side and try to think of other things to calm her own rising desire. In the quiet car, only the sound of their ragged breathing remained.
While enjoying the moment, a flushed Fu Jinxi glanced at the Gu Fei beside her. Under the dim car light, she saw Gu Fei’s face—crimson even as she tried to rest with her eyes closed. She looked quiet and beautiful, making Fu Jinxi’s heart stir.
Guessing that Gu Fei wasn’t indifferent herself, Fu Jinxi decided to add more fuel to the fire. She wanted the fire to burn until Gu Fei couldn’t hold back anymore, so she could also enjoy the same “treatment” Qin Qingwei received in this car.
She looked down at Gu Fei’s wrist, her lips pursing with intent. Although having Gu Fei there was enough to make her comfortable, she wanted to be even more comfortable.
Thus, just as Gu Fei was trying to organize her thoughts about her wife’s illness, her arm was suddenly pulled into Fu Jinxi’s soft embrace. Simultaneously, Fu Jinxi’s low, soft voice sounded in her ear.
“Feifei, even though you didn’t see the ‘surprise’ I prepared for you, I took photos. Do you want to see them?”
Gu Fei’s brow twitched. She looked at her sideways with a blush. “…There’s no need.”
Back when Fu Jinxi had locked her out of the room, Gu Fei had already figured out what the surprise was. While looking for the keys in the living room, she had seen the silver chain that had fallen on the floor. The unique style of that chain had quickly made Gu Fei realize its purpose.
A body chain.
“But I want you to see…”
Leaning against Gu Fei’s arm, Fu Jinxi reached out to grab her phone. Actually, she had originally intended these photos to be a provocation for Qin Qingwei, but using them to seduce Gu Fei now seemed like a good alternative—killing two birds with one stone.
Unable to refuse, Gu Fei could only watch as Fu Jinxi opened the photos and placed them before her. Fu Jinxi provided a soft commentary right by her ear.
“This chain was very hard to put on. I worked on it alone for a long time… especially the part around the chest…”
“Feifei, do you think it looks good?”
“…It looks good.” Gu Fei’s eyelashes trembled as she responded softly, her face turning beet red.
“You aren’t even looking seriously. You’re not allowed to be perfunctory with me…” Fu Jinxi nuzzled into her embrace, her hand gently kneading Gu Fei’s wrist.
“…I’m not. It really is very beautiful.” Gu Fei was so hot that a layer of fine sweat broke out on her forehead, and she didn’t dare move a muscle.
“Mm. It’s a pity you can only see the photos. However…” A wicked thought struck Fu Jinxi. She leaned in and continued to whisper seductively, delivering a fatal blow to Gu Fei’s resolve.
“The silver chain left red marks on my chest that are still there. Do you want to see them?”
“…”
Gu Fei couldn’t utter a single “no.” She closed her eyes, her throat moving. She tried to use her actions to maintain her stance—her wife still had medicine applied; she absolutely could not act recklessly…
“Feifei, look at me.” Fu Jinxi hooked her arms around Gu Fei’s neck, satisfied. She pressed a smiling kiss to her chin. “Just looking won’t do anything. Feifei has such good self-control; you definitely won’t do anything to me, right?”
“…Senior, really, there’s no need…” Gu Fei, clearly hearing the reverse psychology, shook her head with a red face. Before she could finish her refusal, Fu Jinxi took hold of her palm.
“If you don’t want to look, touching is fine too.”
As Gu Fei’s mental defenses completely collapsed, her lips were softly captured by the successful Fu Jinxi. “Feifei can do whatever she wants…”
Ring ring ring…
Just as Gu Fei was losing herself in Fu Jinxi’s embrace, the sudden, sharp ring of a phone echoed in the car, snapping her back to reality.
With a red face, she helped Fu Jinxi tidy her disheveled clothes. Gu Fei bit her lip and, under the other woman’s dissatisfied gaze, picked up the ringing phone. The name “Xiao Yang” on the screen put Gu Fei on alert.
This was Qin Qingwei’s other assistant. Normally it wouldn’t matter, but Fu Jinxi clearly had a strong grievance against Qin Qingwei; she likely wouldn’t be willing to “play the part.”
Gu Fei glanced at the still-pouting Fu Jinxi, who was reluctantly fixing her hair, and answered the call herself.
“Hello.”
“Uh… is this… Ms. Gu? I have some work arrangements I need to inform Sister Qingwei about…” On the other end, the assistant, Xiao Yang, was startled by the stranger’s voice but quickly realized it was normal for Qin Qingwei to be with her girlfriend at this hour.
“Is it convenient to tell me? I can relay it to her.” Gu Fei looked at Fu Jinxi and reached out with a red face to help pull up a slipped shoulder strap.
“Yes…” Without any hesitation, Xiao Yang relayed the newly received work schedule to Gu Fei and then hung up the phone.
Inside the car, Fu Jinxi’s eyes flared with resentment at the mention of Qin Qingwei’s name.
“Don’t tell me you’re asking me to substitute for her at work again. I’m not going.”
She swatted away Gu Fei’s hand from her shoulder. Her good mood had been interrupted just as things were getting interesting, and she sat back against the seat with her arms crossed, her brows knit in frustration. She had worked so hard to coax Gu Fei into her arms, only for everything to be derailed by Qin Qingwei again.
“…Then we won’t go.”
Sensing her reluctance and unwilling to let her feel slighted, Gu Fei comforted her with a gentle smile. She picked up her phone to coordinate with her secretary. Since the work Xiao Yang had mentioned was actually an advertisement for the Gu Group, Gu Fei had the final say.
While messaging her secretary to postpone the shoot, Gu Fei spoke softly to soothe the still-fuming Fu Jinxi. “Don’t worry about work, Senior. You can do whatever you like.”
Even though Fu Jinxi was technically throwing a tantrum at another version of herself, Gu Fei was more than happy to indulge her.
“…Wait.”
Catching a glimpse of Gu Fei’s screen, Fu Jinxi snatched the phone to take a look. “Is this an ad for your company?”
“Yes, so it’s no problem to push it back a few days.” Gu Fei reached for the phone to finish the arrangement, but Fu Jinxi looked at her and deleted the message draft.
“No need to postpone. I’ll go.”
She hated Qin Qingwei, but she didn’t hate Gu Fei. She wasn’t about to let her petty temper interfere with Gu Fei’s business. Besides, if she cooperated, she could leave a “considerate and understanding” impression on Gu Fei.
Exiting the chat, Fu Jinxi pounced back into Gu Fei’s arms, her fingertips sliding intimately down the bridge of Gu Fei’s nose. “Feifei, I’m only willing to pretend to be Qin Qingwei for your sake. You have to compensate me.”
“What kind of compensation does Senior want?” Gu Fei asked with a smile, embracing her and playing along.
“Mm… Once I’m healed down there, I want you to kiss it…”
Boom.
At the blatant suggestion, Gu Fei’s brain effectively short-circuited.
By the time they reached home, Gu Fei’s steps were slightly unsteady, while Fu Jinxi followed behind her, humming a smug, triumphant tune. Based on Gu Fei’s reaction in the car, she was certain that Qin Qingwei had never made her do that before. The thought of finally surpassing Qin Qingwei made her incredibly giddy.
“I’m going to shower in the guest room first. Feifei, remember to come keep me company in a bit.” With that, Fu Jinxi skipped off toward the guest room.
Gu Fei was left alone in the kitchen, her head practically steaming. She drank a full glass of ice water before she could even begin to calm down. She didn’t even dare to dwell on what she had actually promised Fu Jinxi. With trembling eyelashes, she looked at the empty glass and decided a cold shower was probably her best course of action.
After a brisk cold shower, Gu Fei was feeling much more stoic. At least on the surface.
Dressed in her robe, she pulled a suitcase from the closet and began packing for Fu Jinxi’s business trip. The shoot was scheduled for three days in the neighboring city—not too far, but Fu Jinxi would have to leave with the crew early tomorrow morning.
While packing, Gu Fei considered whether she should just go along. She was genuinely worried—not that Fu Jinxi wouldn’t cooperate, but that another personality switch might occur during the shoot. She checked her work schedule on her phone; if there were no vital meetings, she could potentially work remotely and accompany her wife.
As she was scrolling, a damp and impatient Fu Jinxi found her way into the room.
“Feifei.”
The interrogation she had planned vanished the moment she saw Gu Fei packing for her. Her heart softened, and she hugged Gu Fei from behind. “It’s all Qin Qingwei’s fault, taking my good wife away from me.”
Gu Fei let out a helpless, amused sigh but chose not to engage with that specific logic. Instead, she tried to negotiate. “Senior, can you send me messages every day while you’re filming?”
She had just seen her schedule: tomorrow and the day after both had afternoon meetings with government officials that she couldn’t skip. She wouldn’t be able to go. Her only option was to stay in constant contact; that way, if something went wrong, she could react immediately. “Message me morning, noon, and night, okay?”
Fu Jinxi didn’t sense the underlying anxiety; she just looked at Gu Fei with surprise. “Feifei, you’ve suddenly become so clingy… Don’t worry, I’ll message you every day.” She leaned against Gu Fei’s back and added with a smile, “And I want to video call you at night. You have to coax me to sleep, or I won’t have any energy for the shoot. If I look bad and leave behind ‘ugly photos’ for Qin Qingwei…”
“Okay,” Gu Fei laughed, nodding at the “threat.” “Senior looks good no matter what. There won’t be any ugly photos.”
Fu Jinxi let out a huff but couldn’t stop herself from smiling as she kissed Gu Fei’s cheek. “I won’t, of course, but Qin Qingwei definitely will. Her styling in those old period dramas was hideous…”
Gu Fei blinked silently. Having binge-watched all of her wife’s work, she begged to differ. In her eyes, even in the very first drama where her acting was a bit green, Qin Qingwei was still stunning and infinitely charming.
Before heading to the guest room to sleep, they did a final check of the suitcase. Fu Jinxi immediately spotted an oversight.
“Three sets of lingerie? How is that enough? Take all of them.” She ran to the closet and started stuffing every piece Pei Yao had bought into the suitcase.
“…Senior, the shoot is only for three days,” Gu Fei reminded her with a red face.
“I know, but I want to wear a different style for you every night.” Fu Jinxi knew her time “out” was usually short. She could be replaced by Qin Qingwei at any moment, so she wanted to use every second to build their relationship and eventually replace Qin Qingwei in Gu Fei’s heart.
Once she secured Gu Fei’s heart, she could finally take her to see a psychologist and have Gu Fei help her “erase” Qin Qingwei for good. Of course, she wasn’t going to tell Gu Fei that yet.
“With lingerie this beautiful, don’t you want to see what I look like in it, Feifei?”
“…Yes.”
Choosing honesty despite her burning face, Gu Fei watched the suitcase. When Fu Jinxi prepared to try one on right then and there, Gu Fei decisively stopped her from removing her robe, picked her up, and carried her toward the guest room. “It’s time for bed, Senior. You have to get up early tomorrow…”
Fu Jinxi snuggled into her arms, pinching the tip of Gu Fei’s ear and whispering with a low laugh, “Actually, the one I’m wearing right now is quite sexy. Does Feifei want to see?”
Gu Fei’s throat moved. She said nothing, focusing entirely on putting the woman in bed, covering her with the quilt, and turning off the light in one smooth motion.
Until…
Fu Jinxi curled into her arms in the darkness, her breath warm against Gu Fei’s ear.
“That body chain. I put it back on, Feifei touch it, okay?”
