- Chapter 15 - Wife, High Heels
While carrying Pei Yao back to the bed, Gu Fei obediently went to fetch the body lotion from the dressing table.
Per Pei Yao’s request, since she hadn’t succeeded in helping Gu Fei bathe, she would make up for it by helping her apply the lotion.
Sitting in the middle of the bed, Pei Yao patted her lap, signaling Gu Fei to lie down. She took the bottle and glanced at the label.
“Rose again? Baby, do you really love this scent that much?”
Gu Fei, who was busy adjusting her bath towel, looked up and gave a slight smile.
“Mm, I love it very much.”
Pei Yao squeezed some lotion into her palms and rubbed them together to warm it up. She gently massaged Gu Fei’s shoulders, then leaned down to sniff lightly.
“It does smell good. Baby is like a little rose.”
As she spoke, she pressed a smiling kiss to the tip of Gu Fei’s ear. Her damp hair brushed against Gu Fei’s front, and her warm breath fanned across Gu Fei’s skin, causing the younger woman’s ears to flush red.
The “little rose” isn’t me.
Lying peacefully on Pei Yao’s lap, Gu Fei offered a soft, silent response in her heart.
As Pei Yao patiently and gently applied the lotion, she completely unwound Gu Fei’s towel. Gu Fei’s slender frame took on a pinkish hue from shyness. Several times she tried to cover herself, only to be intentionally interrupted by Pei Yao.
“Lift your left leg a bit, baby.”
The upper body was finished. Gu Fei finally managed to hook a thin blanket with her fingertips and was about to pull it over herself when she heard Pei Yao’s soft voice from above.
“…Like this?”
Her left leg bent slightly. Watching Pei Yao lean over until she was almost pressed against her, Gu Fei gave up on the idea of the blanket. Staring at the ceiling, she blushed silently.
“Wife… are you done?”
After a long while, just as Gu Fei was about to lose her composure, Pei Yao finally responded.
“Done. Now, turn over and lie on your stomach.”
Looking at her hands covered in lotion, Pei Yao used her wrist to lightly nudge Gu Fei’s lower back. “Hurry up.”
“Oh.”
Gu Fei hurriedly grabbed the thin blanket to cover her waist while slowly and shyly turning over. Pei Yao raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
Covering up is useless; I’m going to pull it away later anyway.
But for now, this blanket actually had a use.
Just as Gu Fei let out a breath of relief and prepared to close her eyes to rest, she felt a sudden weight on her waist.
“…”
Turning back with a mix of shock and embarrassment, Gu Fei met Pei Yao’s clear, smiling eyes.
“What’s wrong? If I can sit on your front, why can’t I sit on your back?”
“You… you can.”
Understanding the blatant implication, Gu Fei turned her head back with a crimson face and feigned sleep.
Watching her ears turn dark red, Pei Yao let out a soft laugh.
“President Gu, do you have time tomorrow to go to the mall with me to buy clothes?”
“I have time, I’ll take you.”
It wasn’t until after she’d replied without thinking that Gu Fei’s brain caught up. She snapped her eyes open.
“Actually, I think it might rain tomorrow. It’s not very convenient to go out. How about I have them send the latest season’s collection to the house instead, wife?”
Spinning a lie with forced composure, Gu Fei started to reach for her phone on the nightstand, but Pei Yao pressed her back down.
“No need. I just want to buy a few sets of professional attire. Aren’t I starting as your secretary on Monday?”
Unlike Gu Fei’s feigned calm, Pei Yao spoke with a light, cheerful tone while pulling the blanket away from Gu Fei’s waist.
“Sss…”
Enduring the shame of being pinched by Pei Yao, Gu Fei racked her brain for an excuse to cancel the shopping trip.
“Wife, there’s no need for professional attire. Casual clothes are fine. The company doesn’t have a strict dress code.”
“But Monday is my first day. I want to be formal.”
Pei Yao gave her lower back a light pat, leaning down to whisper into Gu Fei’s burning ear.
“President Gu, quite perky~”
“…”
Having been teased by her wife and failing to stop the shopping trip, Gu Fei closed her eyes in a state of hopeless, despairing surrender.
“Then I’ll make a call to arrange things in advance.”
After a few seconds of mourning, Gu Fei reached for her phone, trying to set up some damage control for tomorrow.
“Arrange what?”
Pei Yao, who had finished applying the lotion, lay gently across Gu Fei’s back, rubbing her ear.
“Mm… a private session.”
Meeting Pei Yao’s confused look, Gu Fei’s gaze drifted as she explained, “I don’t like shopping when it’s too crowded.”
In truth, she was terrified of the crowds. Given Qin Qingwei’s fame, if they didn’t clear the mall in advance, Gu Fei was certain tomorrow would be a disaster. Setting aside the risk of their relationship being exposed, Pei Yao’s current mental state wasn’t suited for public scrutiny.
Watching Gu Fei make the call, the oblivious Pei Yao thought to herself: So my little fiancée really is a domineering CEO.
The “forced-to-be-domineering” Gu Fei hesitated over her list of contacts. She decided not to disturb Secretary Chen again and chose a different one.
“Secretary Xu, good evening. I’m sorry to contact you at this hour, but there’s something I need you to handle immediately…”
Dozens of kilometers away, Secretary Xu sat bolt upright on her sofa the moment she picked up. The snacks in her hand suddenly lost their flavor.
“Chairman Gu, please go ahead.”
Secretary Xu kicked her girlfriend, who was leaning on her watching TV, and quickly turned off the television.
Secretary Chen, forced into a sudden hiatus, adjusted her glasses and looked at her suddenly frantic girlfriend in confusion.
Two minutes later, Secretary Xu, having received the mission, began making calls. She turned to her girlfriend with an excited grin.
“To compensate for the overtime, the Chairman just gave me a month of paid leave!”
“…”
Secretary Chen adjusted her glasses again, silently weighing which was better: triple pay or a month of paid vacation?
The next morning, Gu Fei drove Pei Yao to the nearest GK Mall.
The mall was a Gu Group property, but Gu Fei usually only saw the management at year-end meetings. There was rarely any direct contact, which was why she’d had to ask her secretary to find the manager’s details last night.
As Gu Fei led Pei Yao through the VIP side entrance, she felt a lingering uncertainty. She hoped Secretary Xu had conveyed her meaning accurately. Is everything arranged? I hope no one leaks the fact that I’m out with Qin Qingwei today…
Gu Fei wasn’t worried for herself; she just didn’t want to cause more distress for the already struggling Qin Qingwei.
The interior of the mall, which had been closed to the public, was very quiet. Each store kept only two staff members—enough to assist them without feeling overwhelming.
After Pei Yao picked out several professional outfits, none of the chaos Gu Fei feared occurred. She finally let out a sigh of relief and accompanied Pei Yao to a shoe store.
“Gu Fei, what do you think of these?” Pei Yao asked, holding up a black stiletto with a red sole.
“The heel looks a bit too high, wife. It’ll be uncomfortable after a while…” Gu Fei took a look at the 10cm heel and frowned instinctively.
“But I want to try them.”
Pei Yao looked down at Gu Fei’s flat casual shoes, raised an interest-piqued eyebrow, and walked over to the fitting area.
Seeing Pei Yao sit on the sofa, Gu Fei let out a helpless smile and followed. Noticing the cut of Pei Yao’s skirt, Gu Fei knelt before her and draped her own jacket over Pei Yao’s lap before carefully helping her change into the high heels.
“Well?”
Pei Yao didn’t stand up immediately. She sat before Gu Fei and tapped her feet lightly on the carpet. The contrast between her pale skin and the black heels was incredibly sexy.
Noticing Gu Fei dazing out at her feet, Pei Yao let out a silent laugh.
“You seem to like them.”
Before Gu Fei could snap out of it, Pei Yao tilted her chin up and asked softly, “President Gu, are you looking at the shoes, or are you looking at the feet?”
