Life After Being Claimed by the Disabled Dragon Lady - Chapter 87
After dinner, Long Ling went to the kitchen to tidy up, and Violet followed her.
Mo Dai felt bad that her daughter had to buy groceries and cook, so she didn’t let Long Ling continue working. Instead, she rolled up her sleeves and started cleaning up herself.
“I’ve done these kinds of chores before when I was with the merchant caravan, so don’t worry. Go rest on the side.”
Long Ling had never heard Mo Dai mention her past and curiously asked, “Was it very hard for you when you were with the caravan, Mom?”
Mo Dai replied while washing the dishes, “It wasn’t particularly hard. I hadn’t met your mother yet, and I was often arguing with your grandma. I met some friends in the merchant caravan. I wasn’t the captain at first, just a temporary member, and I didn’t have much money. To learn skills, I had to do more of the odd jobs.”
A look of surprise flashed in Long Ling’s eyes, and she worriedly asked, “Didn’t Grandma give you money?”
Mo Dai smiled lightly, “She did, but my temper was stubborn back then, and I wasn’t willing to spend the money your grandma gave me.”
Long Ling understood Mo Dai’s unspoken words. To accept money is to be beholden to the giver, and Mo Dai didn’t want to marry the Queen at the time. She must have wanted to show her resolve to her grandmother. Perhaps the path was a little tough, but she eventually achieved the life she wanted.
Mom’s experience is so rich. If she could also become an excellent person like Mo Dai, she could go to more and farther places.
Mo Dai noticed the yearning in Long Ling’s eyes and encouraged her, “I’ve created good conditions for you, and I’ve earned a family business. You won’t have to work as hard as I did before. If you like opening a tavern, you can open one anywhere you want.”
Long Ling nodded emphatically, but opening a tavern wasn’t that easy; she had to first make the current one successful.
Seeing Long Ling’s obedient demeanor, Mo Dai said with a smile, “Young people all grow up this way. How can you learn and grow without experiencing some storms? The places I took you to last time were relatively close. Since your health has improved recently, I can take you to see places farther away.”
Violet noticed that everything Mo Dai said was encouraging the little dragon to run around, and a faint darkness flickered in her eyes.
She had searched for this tavern for a long time, and Long Ling hadn’t even agreed to return to the manor with her yet.
If Long Ling opened many taverns, wouldn’t that be equivalent to having many hiding spots? It would be even harder for her to find Long Ling.
Violet hooked Long Ling’s finger and suddenly said, “Come out for a walk with me.”
Long Ling’s eyes showed a hint of surprise, “Now?”
Violet lifted her chin slightly, “Yes, let’s go now.”
Long Ling had originally wanted to help her mother with some other chores, so she had to tell Mo Dai, “Mom, Violet and I are going out for a bit. We’ll be back soon.”
Mo Dai glanced meaningfully at Violet. Where was she planning to lure her daughter off to?
Violet’s expression was calm, so Mo Dai could only instruct, “Be back early.”
Long Ling nodded, “Okay.”
Violet took Long Ling’s hand, and they left the kitchen together.
Thinking that it was cold outside, Long Ling wanted to find a thick piece of clothing, so she went back to her bedroom on the second floor.
Violet followed her and suddenly closed the bedroom door. “You are not allowed to go to farther places and open more taverns.”
Long Ling frowned, “I won’t listen to you.”
Violet stared at her and asked, “Don’t you want the tavern in Liepa Town anymore?”
Long Ling was confused, “Didn’t I give that tavern to you?”
Violet’s tone was resentful, “I don’t know how to run a business. You deliberately left it for me so that I would think about you every day.”
She hadn’t meant for Violet to see the place and miss her. When she left, she had taken everything she could.
Long Ling said calmly, “I never intended to compensate you with the tavern. It’s just that you gave me too many gold coins and gems.”
Violet said softly, “I’ve brought the tavern deed back to you now. Do you still want to see the Dragon Palace, as you said last time? I found the map to the Dragon Palace. Let’s go together.”
Long Ling found it a bit hard to believe that there could really be a Dragon Palace in this world.
Violet handed her the map and the deed. Long Ling opened the map and saw the location of the Dragon Palace marked, as well as the sea area.
She looked at Violet skeptically and received a confirming nod from her.
But she had just made up her mind to manage the tavern well and earn more money.
Violet took her hand and placed it on her lower abdomen. “Will you go with me and the dragon egg?”
Long Ling’s heart skipped a beat. How could she be pregnant with a dragon egg so easily?
But Violet sounded so sincere that Long Ling still couldn’t help but reach out and touch it.
Violet was wearing a warm knitted sweater and felt soft and cozy. If there really was a dragon egg, she wondered what it would be like.
She would then incubate the dragon egg with Violet, sleeping in the quilt with the dragon egg placed between them.
Violet’s hand gently covered hers. Long Ling looked up and saw the liquid tenderness in Violet’s eyes.
Perhaps continuing down this path with Violet would lead to happiness.
Long Ling hesitated, “What about the tavern? I finally have some free time now, and I was planning on selling some braised goose next.”
Violet had already thought of a solution for her: “I’ll have Mina come over. She can learn from you and help you run the tavern.”
Long Ling thought about her original tavern in Liepa Town, where Mina was already the head chef. Moreover, the Aude continent was quite far from the Livonia continent, and Mina’s family and friends were not in Livonia. It would be a bit difficult to ask her to come over.
Long Ling shook her head, “Forget it, I’ll hire a new person. I’ll go on a trip with you once the tavern business returns to its previous state.”
Violet stared at her, “You must promise me that you won’t leave with your mother then.”
Long Ling had planned to proceed step by step anyway. She wasn’t an innately adventurous person, so she readily agreed, “Okay.”
Violet lowered her head and kissed Long Ling’s soft lips, saying warmly, “Such a good girl.”
Long Ling was stunned by the sudden kiss, “Why did you suddenly kiss me?”
Violet’s beautiful eyes were tinged with a smile, and her long fingers stroked Long Ling’s cheek. “A reward for you.”
Long Ling looked at Violet’s beautiful face, and her earlobes felt warm.
All along, it was the evil dragon lady who was the clingiest, though she never admitted it.
Long Ling bit her lip and muttered, “Why don’t you say you’re rewarding yourself?”
The ripples in Violet’s eyes spread out in layers, and she kissed her again. “Hmm? Does the little strawberry dragon want a little more reward?”
Long Ling closed her eyes. “Sometimes you are really naughty.”
Violet reached for the back of her neck and gently stroked it, her lips curving up. “It’s because I like you that I become naughty.”
Violet kissed her lips gently, releasing a rose-scented pheromone. Long Ling was immediately pressed onto the bed, her heart involuntarily pounding faster.
Violet was completely different from anyone else to her.
She liked the domineering way Violet looked on top of her, with her slender waist and long legs, always occupying the dominant position, yet when she lost control, hot tears would slide past her eyes, full of lustful and intoxicating allure.
Long Ling couldn’t help but kiss Violet passionately. Her kissing skills had improved a lot recently, causing Violet to gasp softly and squeeze her plump dragon tail several times.
For the next few days, Mo Dai and Violet did not leave. Although there were only three people in the tavern, Long Ling often felt that life was full of chaos, permeated with invisible smoke.
Every time Mo Dai asked her to fetch something, Violet would immediately ask her to fetch something else. Even after both of them got what they wanted, their faces remained sullen, making Long Ling realize that the two dragons were not getting along.
Only at night was there a rare moment of peace. Mo Dai would return to the manor. Since Violet didn’t want to live with Mo Dai, Long Ling had to temporarily reside in the tavern with her.
Long Ling hired a craftsman to install a warm fireplace on the second floor of the tavern and custom-ordered a pure cashmere blanket to lay on the wooden floor. Violet also had her subordinates bring some of her everyday items from the Illidari Manor.
This small room originally only had the traces of Long Ling’s life, but in a short time, it seemed to have returned to when they first agreed to get engaged.
Long Ling looked at the grassy green coaster she had woven, which now held Violet’s exclusive coffee cup. Violet was lying on her sofa chair, lazily reading documents in the sun, and a stack of newspapers was pressing down on her drawing books.
Long Ling couldn’t help but think that the room was indeed a bit small now. She needed to expand to a larger room so that Violet’s personal items wouldn’t be everywhere.
Wait, the great evil dragon had brazenly moved in. How could she still be thinking about taking good care of the great evil dragon?
Where exactly did things go wrong?
Long Ling was busy with the tavern’s re-opening during this time, and she was supposed to think things through properly, but she was too busy to worry about so much.
She had hired a new young chef, a demi-human with previous cooking experience. Long Ling assigned her to the back kitchen, specializing in making braised goose. The supply was still sourced from the previous small farmer.
The tavern re-opened with a new signature dish, braised goose, but the most interested customers were not only the dwarf patrons who usually loved to drink but also a group of young magic apprentices who had just joined the Adventurers’ Guild.
As soon as the braised goose was displayed, it was shiny and bright, hanging neatly in rows on silver hooks. When the morning breeze blew, the enticing aroma of the braised goose made people stop in their tracks and rush into the tavern impatiently.
“This goose smells so good! Is it roasted? Boss, hurry up and give me a serving.”
“I was the first in line! I should be served first!”
The demi-human waiter responsible for selling the braised goose was completely overwhelmed by the crowd surrounding her.
This was their first time selling braised goose, and the business was too popular.
Seeing such a busy scene, a bright light bloomed in Long Ling’s eyes. It seemed her cooking skills could stand up to the public’s test.
If things continued this way, opening several branches in the future should be no problem.
Violet stood beside Long Ling. Seeing the enthusiasm for doing business ignite in Long Ling’s eyes, she suddenly felt that things were not looking good.
She didn’t want Long Ling to continue living and opening taverns on the Livonia continent. The place where they would live together in the future should be the Aude continent.
Violet urged, “Business is already back on track. We should be able to leave now. The scenery at the Dragon Palace is at its best right now. If we don’t go soon, we’ll miss it.”
