Life After Being Claimed by the Disabled Dragon Lady - Chapter 81
Violet waited for Long Ling at the manor for three days. She redecorated the manor, and she also arranged for people to build the Dragon Palace Long Ling wanted under the sea.
She was just waiting for Long Ling to come over so they could spend some sweet days at the manor first, and then go on a vacation at the Dragon Palace built for the little dragon under the sea.
She counted the days every day, and her lips would curl up uncontrollably just thinking about Long Ling agreeing to come home.
Duke Violet was in a good mood, and the dark clouds covering the entire manor dissipated.
Butler Marcia smiled and said, “Your Highness, the fireworks have all been bought. We can set them off tonight when Miss Long Ling returns. The new clothes and jewelry you ordered have also been placed in the closet. Is there anything else to prepare?”
Violet gently touched the ruby ring with her slender fingers and smiled, “That’s the arrangement for now. Long Ling has been away for so long, arrange for someone to meet her at the port.”
Butler Marcia bowed and was about to answer when Violet immediately added, “I’ll go pick her up myself. Have the carriage prepared.”
According to the agreed time, Long Ling should have arrived at Port Glise today. However, Violet waited from dawn until dusk and then deep into the night, but Long Ling was nowhere to be seen.
Long Ling had never broken a promise to her, and Violet couldn’t help but wonder if something had happened to Long Ling. She immediately rushed to the Liwo Continent.
But when she arrived at the pub Long Ling had opened, the Mist Pub was already closed.
Her subordinates found out that the pub owner had been framed and beaten up, and the pub was going to be closed for repairs for a while.
It was widely rumored outside that the assailant was actually an Earl from the Aode Continent, who had been caught by the police but had escaped from prison and was now missing.
Her little dragon was beaten?
And the person who beat her was an Earl from the Aode Continent?
Violet’s mind quickly flashed with the face of Xivia.
Long Ling had never been in the military and was no match for Xivia. Violet didn’t know how badly she might have been beaten, or if her life was in danger.
Her little dragon was only supposed to return to the pub and then come back to see her, but she was beaten by someone.
Who gave Xivia the audacity to lay a hand on Long Ling!
Violet thought of the possibly severe injuries on Long Ling’s body and was both anxious and furious: “Have someone immediately capture Xivia, assemble the army, and attack Xivia’s territory.”
In just two days, the fugitive Xivia was captured by the Dragon Guards and brought before Violet.
Her hair was messy, and she had multiple wounds on her body. She was forced to kneel before Violet. Just as she was about to explain, a loud slap greeted her.
With that slap, Xivia was knocked to the ground, half of her face was swollen high, and her mouth was full of sweet-smelling blood.
Xivia looked up, saw Violet’s grim gaze, and trembled uncontrollably.
It had been many years since she had seen Violet like this. She thought that Violet, after being injured, would be like other Omegas and would no longer be so sharp. That’s why she dared to try and deal with Long Ling.
But in just two days, she was utterly defeated. Even her territory was seized by Violet, and everyone in her family was exiled and made into lower-class commoners.
Xivia knelt on the ground and crawled to Violet’s feet: “Violet, please listen to my explanation. I just wanted that little dragon to cherish you. She is completely unworthy of you, weak and incompetent. You deserve a better Alpha!”
Violet’s beautiful face turned cold, her red lips like blood: “Is that so? Should I thank you?”
Her tone was cold and ruthless, and the way she looked at Xivia was like looking at a dead piece of garbage.
Xivia suddenly felt like she had fallen into an ice cellar. In the military, no one’s ability surpassed Duke Violet, and no one dared to defy her power. Even the current Queen ranked behind her by bloodline.
If Duke Violet hadn’t been so young back, then, the current Queen would not have the throne now.
She realized Violet’s true identity and suddenly reacted, pleading and trembling like a sieve: “Your Grace, please, forgive me this time! I will never dare to do it again!”
Violet picked up a clean, white handkerchief and meticulously wiped every one of her fingers. She slightly raised her chin, and the armored Dragon Guard immediately dragged Xivia away.
Xivia’s mouth was gagged with a piece of rags, completely losing the right to speak.
After dealing with Xivia, Violet sat in her chair, her slender fingers gently tapping the armrest. She had been in a wheelchair for a long time, and sometimes even she would forget if she was still the same as her former self.
She was bloodthirsty and cold, unwilling to yield even an inch of her territory, and she would never allow anyone to slander or provoke anything that belonged to her.
“Your Highness, we have found Long Ling’s whereabouts,” the leader of the Dragon Guard suddenly walked in from outside.
Violet immediately asked, “Where did she go?”
“We asked the doctor at Crux City Hospital. After Miss Long Ling’s external injuries healed, her internal injuries never got better, and she kept coughing up blood. Madam Modai discussed it with the doctor and took her back to the Elven homeland.”
Violet’s heart tightened when she heard Long Ling was coughing up blood due to internal injuries. Dismembering Xivia was still too light a punishment.
Modai took Long Ling back to the Elven homeland. Could the elves cure Long Ling’s injuries?
She couldn’t find the way to the Elven homeland. Would Long Ling return to her side after her injuries healed?
After returning to the Elven homeland, Long Ling’s injured body recovered much faster than it had been on the Liwo Continent. The elements of the surrounding trees continuously nourished her body, and she showed significant improvement.
Every morning, Shirley and Elorias would collect morning dew from the forest flowers and bring two full bamboo tubes to her. It tasted very sweet and contained natural elements. After Long Ling drank it, the pain in her injured abdomen would be significantly relieved.
Modai saw that she was bored while recovering in the forest and made a swing next to her treehouse.
When Long Ling had nothing to do, she would sit on it and swing a couple of times. She planted some vines next to the swing. This magical vine, harvested from the Mist Forest, had smooth, light purple leaves and bloomed with small, pale white flowers. These flowers continuously emitted a fragrance that could drive away nearby mosquitoes and insects.
When the swing started to rock, the magical vines would use the wind to gently rock the swing, and Long Ling would easily fall asleep leaning on it.
If she didn’t think about Violet, maybe she wouldn’t be so sad.
After waking up on the swing, Long Ling returned to the treehouse. The elves had a fixed hunting and gathering day every month. They could collect many bamboo shoots and mushrooms in late autumn, as well as wood ears and wild vegetables. Elorias would also go and give her half of what she collected. Long Ling received a large bag.
Long Ling put all the vegetables into a small bamboo basket, intending to wash them by the small stream.
Her injuries had healed a lot recently, and she no longer had to rely on others for everything. After washing the wild vegetables, she could make fried spring rolls and host a dinner for the family and friends who had been taking care of her all these days.
Long Ling was very relaxed in the forest. When she passed the entrance to change into her deerskin boots, the magical communication crystal she had casually placed on the cabinet suddenly vibrated.
Annie had given her this magical communication crystal when she was recuperating at Crux City Hospital, saying they could keep in touch often and team up to play a game during their next trip.
Annie would ask about her health and chat with her every morning, but this time Annie suddenly sent a message in the evening. Could something urgent have happened?
Long Ling immediately put down the bamboo basket and placed her hand on the magical communication crystal.
After a moment of vibration from the crystal ball, Annie’s suspended illusion quickly appeared before her.
Annie looked anxious: “Sister Long Ling, I’ve run into something very important. Could you please help me?”
Long Ling’s heart sank: “What is it, Annie?”
Annie’s eyes were red, making her look like a pitiful little rabbit. She spoke quickly: “My dad suddenly got sick. My eldest sister and second sister were already fighting for the family property, and now they both want the share of the property my mom holds. If they get it, they can rightfully become the head of the family.”
“But Mom said that share of the property was originally intended for me. If my second sister marries me off to someone from the Stedly family, she can legitimately swallow my money.”
Long Ling felt a little dizzy from her words. She didn’t really understand Annie’s family situation, but Annie’s mother and Madam Rosalyn were good friends, and Annie was also a very cute girl in her heart.
Long Ling quickly comforted her gently: “Don’t worry, tell me slowly. Why can marrying someone from the Stedly family allow her to legitimately swallow your money?”
Annie’s tears rolled down uncontrollably: “I overheard my second sister and the Alpha from the Stedly family talking. They plan to trick me into marrying him first, let that Alpha trick me out of my property, and then transfer it to my second sister. That way, most of the property will be in my second sister’s hands, and she can become the head of the family.”
Long Ling frowned: “Can you refuse to marry that, Alpha?”
Annie bit her lip: “I could have refused, but Dad suddenly got sick, and Mom’s property might not be safe for long. There’s a rule in the family that since my eldest sister and second sister are already married, the property can only be fully transferred to my name if I also get married.”
Long Ling didn’t expect the problem to be so tricky and became worried for Annie: “I can help you ask my mom if she has any solution. We can all sit down and think about it.”
Annie looked at Long Ling and pleaded: “Sister Long Ling, only you can help me with this. Can you marry me?”
Long Ling was stunned by her words.
Is marriage such a casual thing?
Annie saw Long Ling’s hesitation and knew her request was very offensive and rude. She first apologized to Long Ling: “I’m sorry, Sister Long Ling. Besides you, I have no other dragon I can trust. Actually, I wanted to tell you that day when I visited you at the hospital, but your health wasn’t very good at the time. We can have a marriage agreement. If I get my share of the property, I can give half of it to Sister Long Ling.”
Long Ling rubbed her forehead: “Annie, this isn’t about money.”
If she got married again, she would be a two-time divorcee, which wasn’t a good reputation in her original world.
Annie’s tears fell again: “I know Sister Long Ling is a very good dragon, but there really is no other way. If Sister Long Ling really doesn’t want to get married, we can get engaged first and hold a fake wedding ceremony. As soon as I get the property, we can announce our separation. I promise that I won’t interfere with Sister Long Ling finding another Omega during this time!”
Long Ling felt very awkward. Out of friendship, helping Annie was easy, but emotionally, she couldn’t accept suddenly having a new fiancée.
