- Chapter 78 - A Love Rival Appears
When Violet heard the report from the Dragon Guard that Sylvia wanted to see her, she was currently spending time with Long Ling.
If Long Ling found out she was entangled with another Alpha, the small-minded dragon would surely throw a tantrum again.
However, not going and being seen by the little dragon would also be troublesome; she needed to resolve this quickly.
As soon as Sylvia saw Violet, she couldn’t help but pour out her heart.
“Vir, you finally agreed to see me! My suggestion last time was too reckless. I just wanted to help you. If you can’t accept it, I’m willing to continue being just friends with you.”
When Violet’s dragon tail was injured, she went into heat. Sylvia, being an Alpha, thought she could help Violet and made the suggestion, only to be fiercely slapped to the ground by Violet.
She gave up hope, thinking Violet simply didn’t like Alphas. Even if she took suppressants and became a Beta, she was willing to stay by Violet’s side.
But Violet wanted to drive her away and wouldn’t allow her to stay at the Illdari Manor.
Later, she heard that Violet had found an Alpha. After inquiring, she learned that the Alpha came from a fallen family, looked like a very delicate Alpha dragon, was a gold-digger, and didn’t cherish Violet despite having her.
Violet’s expression was cold and elegant, and her words were cutting: “Sylvia, you injured so many of my Dragon Guards. According to the laws of the kingdom, I have the right to have you arrested and sentenced to three years in prison right now!”
Sylvia quickly and sincerely apologized: “I’m sorry, Vir. I just wanted to talk to you. I originally came here to help you find a better magic potion. I just happened to see you and your Alpha. Have you two broken up now?”
Violet couldn’t stand hearing the word “break up.” She already regretted dissolving the agreement with Long Ling, and now someone else had figured out they had separated.
Violet crossed her arms, her tone icy: “I told you I don’t need the medicine you sent. My leg injury healed a long time ago.”
Sylvia looked at Violet’s proud face and said affectionately: “Vir, if you break up with that Alpha, could you consider me? I won’t be any worse than other Alphas. I will treat you well from now on.”
Violet clenched her fists, having reached her limit. She had refused her multiple times, yet Sylvia acted as if she couldn’t understand.
Her eyes grew sharper, to the point of a murderous intent: “Sylvia, how many times do I have to say it? If you still don’t understand—”
Behind her, Long Ling’s voice suddenly carried over from a distance.
“Violet, who are you talking to?”
Violet’s heart tightened. She immediately gave Sylvia a warning look and coldly uttered a single sentence: “Get out. Don’t appear in front of me.”
Sylvia was very unwilling. She really wanted to rush over to the soft Alpha and let Long Ling know what a real Alpha was, and that she shouldn’t treat an Omega that way.
But she was afraid that if she exposed herself now, Violet would definitely have her pulverized.
Sylvia turned and immediately left through a small, secluded path.
Her figure was hurried, and her dark suit made her hard to identify in the night.
Long Ling was far away and only saw a vague, blurry figure quickly departing.
She frowned slightly, felt relieved that Violet was not in danger, and walked up to Violet’s side.
Long Ling was a little confused: “Why did that person suddenly leave?”
Violet tossed her long, dark, curly hair. Her expression was as usual, and her eyes were profound: “Just a subordinate.”
She had served in the military, and her psychological fortitude far surpassed that of an ordinary dragon. Her tone was firm, making it difficult not to believe everything she said.
However, Violet never usually avoided her when talking to subordinates; it was a little strange.
Long Ling nodded. Her nose caught an uncomfortable scent, and she casually asked, “Was that subordinate an Alpha just now?”
Alpha pheromones repel each other. As an Alpha dragon, Long Ling found the scent of other Alphas to be stimulating and choking.
When Long Ling walked over, Violet had already released some of her Omega rose pheromones, but she didn’t expect Long Ling to still smell the scent of another Alpha.
Her heart fluttered slightly. She took Long Ling’s hand, led her toward a place with circulating air, and said softly, “Yes. Did you buy the gift you needed to buy for the elf?”
After moving away from the choking, unpleasant Alpha pheromone scent, Long Ling felt much better: “I bought it. Do you have official business to attend to? If you’re in a hurry to go back, just go. Annie and I are almost done having fun anyway.”
Violet’s expression relaxed slightly upon seeing that the little dragon wasn’t overly suspicious: “It’s not very urgent business. We used to spend so little time together. Now I want to spend more time with you. What did you just buy?”
Long Ling smiled slightly, her tone carrying a hint of boastfulness: “A super beautiful ornament! You can see a little mermaid singing and dancing inside, and the owner even gave me a magic scroll!”
Violet saw Long Ling’s flushed excitement and poked Long Ling’s chest with one finger.
“Where’s my gift? When are you going to give it to me? You’re so kind to your other friends, what about me?”
The gift given to others was at most an exquisite craft. The gift Violet wanted was her body—how could it be the same?
Long Ling’s ears flushed at the poke. She pushed her hand away and ignored her complaint: “Ask for something else.”
Violet’s eyes were full of smiles: “Don’t you have a lucky pearl you just got? You can hold it and propose to me right now.”
Long Ling glanced at Violet. Was that a proposal? It was clearly a remarriage.
She hadn’t truly married Violet, but they lived together before, which should have been almost the same as being married.
She was so young, and she was about to become a divorced Alpha.
If she begged Violet to marry her, Violet would definitely agree immediately the next second. It would be hard to find a dragon as easy to bully as her.
Long Ling grew angry at the thought: “Who wants to propose to you? You locked me in a secret room before, turned me into a little dragon and put me in a fish tank, and you even spanked my bottom!”
Violet heard the little dragon complaining about this and gently coaxed her: “Alright, I love you too much. I promise I won’t lock you up again. I even told you that you could spank me back, but you won’t. Little dragons are so cute, you know? Every time you turn small, rubbing your white belly is so soft, and your dragon horns are pink—so adorable.”
Long Ling covered her red ears, unable to stand it. Aah! That’s not what she wanted to hear!
Violet’s leg was injured and disabled before, and she still spanked Violet’s bottom—was she even human?
If she had intimate contact with Violet now, Violet would just become complacent again and think she couldn’t leave her.
Long Ling glared at Violet, and before leaving, she dropped a harsh remark: “Dream on! I won’t propose to you!”
Violet curved her beautiful lips: “If you don’t want to propose, then let’s make up and get back together. We can consider marriage after we have a dragon egg.”
Halfway through running away, Long Ling couldn’t help but turn her head back.
Why was Violet’s way of thinking so different from hers? They weren’t even married, so why talk about having a dragon egg?
How awful! Making an Omega carry an egg without a proper name or status, only Violet could do something like that. She was just the Alpha without a proper name, though.
It was all the same; in their world, there was a unified name for it: concubine.
Long Ling was still angry: “Didn’t you refuse to agree to an engagement with me before? Now you want to give me status? I don’t want it now. Go breed with whoever you want.”
Violet saw Long Ling’s face turn red with anger and quickly told her: “Don’t walk so fast, I can barely keep up with you. Now I’m the one asking you for status. Don’t be angry.”
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.
What was in her head before, to clingingly beg Violet for such a vague, empty promise?
Long Ling walked even faster, but remembering that Violet’s leg had indeed been injured, she slowed her pace, only to be suddenly hugged from behind by Violet.
Violet’s soft lips pressed against her ear, and her voice was very gentle: “Little Strawberry Dragon, your temper is getting bigger and bigger. I sincerely want to be with you forever.”
Long Ling snorted coldly, but the tears in her eyes couldn’t help but well up with grievances.
She clearly shouldn’t believe a woman’s soft words so easily, yet her heart was sour at that moment, like plums that had been soaking for a long time and brewed up layers of bitterness, making the root of her tongue bitter.
She forced the tears back and silently pulled Violet’s hands down: “The things I bought are still being packaged. I need to go and supervise.”
Violet immediately said, “I’ll go with you.”
Their retreating figures were all seen by Sylvia.
To be honest, she had never seen such a demanding Alpha. Violet was willing to condescend and beg her to get back together, yet she still acted so unforgivingly.
She couldn’t figure out what Violet saw in her. This strawberry-pheromone Alpha dragon—she disliked her the moment she saw her. She decided to teach her a good lesson when Violet wasn’t around.
Long Ling didn’t know yet that a dragon was targeting her. When she returned, the shop owner had already packed the ornament she bought.
The magic scroll was also placed inside the box, which was tightly wrapped with rattan. It was easy to pick up and carry.
As an Alpha dragon, her strength was not small, and carrying the box was easy, but it made shopping difficult.
Annie had also bought her jewelry and asked, “Sister Long Ling, should we go back now? My mom booked a hotel for me, a twin-bedded room. We can stay together.”
Before Long Ling could refuse, Violet gave her a cold glance.
So fierce! Her Grace the Duchess looked like she could kill her! What was wrong with a twin-bedded room? It wasn’t a king-sized bed. She and Sister Long Ling were innocent and wouldn’t do anything.
Violet waved her hand and arranged for a plainclothes Dragon Guard to come over: “Give your things to the Dragon Guard to carry. If you want to continue shopping, you can.”
Long Ling shook her head: “I’m tired. I don’t want to shop anymore.”
Violet stroked her head: “Then let’s go rest on the cruise ship for a while, and when it’s light out, I’ll take you to other places to look around.”
Long Ling just wanted to find a place without Violet to rest, but Violet was everywhere, and her mother wasn’t coming to save her.
She nodded: “Okay.”
Annie silently muttered to herself, Too much! Not allowing her and Sister Long Ling to sleep in a twin-bedded room—Her Grace the Duchess must have secretly arranged a king-sized room.
