- Chapter 71 - Secretly Kissing Her Back
As soon as Violet arrived at the garden, she saw Long Ling’s cheeks were flushed pink, sleeping on a lounge chair, with Annie sitting next to her, fanning her with a fan.
From a distance, the two looked like a pair of lovers in the throes of passion. Violet’s eyes darkened, a strong wave of possessiveness flashing across them, and she walked straight over.
Annie felt a strong sense of pressure coming from behind her. She looked up and saw that it was Duke Violet, who had appeared at the banquet earlier.
She thought of the other party’s noble status and was about to curtsy.
Violet didn’t look at her, immediately picking up Long Ling.
Annie was stunned for a moment. Seeing that Violet was about to carry Long Ling away, she quickly asked, “Your Grace, where are you taking Sister Long Ling?”
Violet said flatly, “She is my fiancée. Where I take her is none of your business.”
Annie recalled her mother telling her that Sister Long Ling and Duke Violet had a past, but hadn’t they broken up already?
Annie plucked up her courage and stopped the powerful Violet: “I promised Aunt Mo Dai that I would help look after Sister Long Ling. You can’t just take her away like this!”
Violet gave a look, and the Dragon Guard following behind her immediately blocked Annie.
Annie was stopped in her tracks. She had always been protected by her mother and this was the first time she had encountered such a thing. She could only hurry back to find Aunt Mo Dai.
Violet carried Long Ling away from the garden to the room the City Lord had specially prepared for her.
Violet closed the door, leaving only a warm bedside lamp on. She placed Long Ling on the warm and comfortable large bed and helped cover her with a quilt.
She thought of the times Long Ling cared for her, leaned over, and gently unbuttoned Long Ling’s clothes.
As soon as Violet unbuttoned one button, Long Ling started muttering uncomfortably.
Violet touched her hot cheek and saw her dragon horns protruding. Even her silvery-white dragon tail had poked out from under her skirt. She liked the little dragon’s tail and stroked it. The tail immediately tied a plump bow around her arm.
Violet stopped unbuttoning and sat by Long Ling’s bed, pulling Long Ling into her arms, enjoying the beautiful moment of just the two of them.
Before long, Long Ling closed her eyes and murmured that she was thirsty. Violet quickly brought the hangover soup prepared on the table.
As soon as the hangover soup touched Long Ling’s dry lips, Long Ling closed her eyes and began to drink in small sips, looking truly parched.
Violet slowly fed her, her eyes unconsciously revealing tenderness.
Long Ling, lying in her arms like this, resembled a sweet little puppy—very obedient and vulnerable. She wouldn’t always make her angry, and she wouldn’t talk about liking other Omegas anymore.
She couldn’t help but whisper close to Long Ling’s ear, “You are not allowed to like any other Omega. You can only be mine; do you hear me?”
Long Ling was drunk and fast asleep, completely unable to hear what Violet was saying.
A trace of obsession flashed in Violet’s eyes as she hugged Long Ling tightly.
She revealed her own dragon tail. The scarlet dragon tail tightly coiled around the silvery-white dragon tail. The smooth scales rubbed against each other, making a rustling sound. The air gradually became damp and hot.
After her tail recovered, she had experienced several heat cycles. Without the solace of Alpha pheromones, her dragon tail could only curl up weakly. The doctors she consulted had formulated many suppressants for her, but none were as effective as her little dragon.
Sometimes, when she was alone in the secret room, she would think of Long Ling’s tail wrapped around her. Every day since Long Ling left, her life was filled with Long Ling’s presence—she couldn’t erase it, nor did she want to. Just being with Long Ling so quietly was the most comforting thing.
All the surrounding noise was isolated outside the room. Violet’s slender fingers gently traced Long Ling’s eyebrows, and she rubbed her head, which Long Ling kept saying hurt. Suddenly, she heard Long Ling call her name in her sleep.
“Vi… Vi…”
Violet’s calm heart rippled with layers of waves. She couldn’t help but take Long Ling’s hand, intertwining their fingers, and placing them on Long Ling’s cheek. She said gently and tenderly, “I am here.”
Long Ling suddenly started crying in her dream, softly sobbing and calling her name.
A part of Violet’s heart quietly collapsed. The words Long Ling had repeatedly said during the day—that she didn’t want to see her—her heart wasn’t made of stone; she couldn’t help but feel upset. She didn’t want to give up this relationship and had been trying hard to win her back.
She didn’t have much confidence, she was just gambling that Long Ling still had her in her heart, that she didn’t truly want to push her far away. She wanted to start over with Long Ling.
She wasn’t good at comforting people and quickly used her warm fingertips to wipe away the tear stains on Long Ling’s face.
Violet held Long Ling in her arms, letting Long Ling rest her head on her lap, gently patting Long Ling’s back. Her usually composed voice became slightly anxious: “Don’t be afraid. I’m here. No one will bully you.”
She was truly a bit clumsy and not very good at comforting. After gently patting her a few times, Long Ling’s sobbing grew louder.
She lowered her head and kissed Long Ling’s cheek, then kissed Long Ling’s forehead. It took a lot of effort to finally soothe Long Ling. She pulled up the quilt that Long Ling had messed up, wrapped her back up, and curled up in the blanket with Long Ling.
However, after sleeping for a while, Long Ling became restless again, muttering incomprehensible things in her sleep, sometimes saying she was thirsty. Violet comforted her again, getting up to pour her water.
Long Ling was half-asleep and half-awake, tossing and turning all night. Each time, a pair of gentle hands handed her water.
She thought it would be Mo Dai, as she remembered staying close to Mo Dai. But the gentle scent of roses always surrounded her, keeping her conscious state hazy.
Long Ling opened her eyes groggily and saw Violet’s exquisitely defined profile. The black, cascading curly hair gently brushed against her cheek, bringing a tingling itch.
She looked down and suddenly realized that she wasn’t on the garden lounge chair, but on a warm and comfortable large bed. The air was filled with their mixed rose and strawberry pheromones.
She remembered that someone had been looking after her last night. Could it be that it wasn’t Mo Dai, but Violet who had been caring for her all this time?
Wasn’t Violet here to attend the City Lord’s banquet, with many social obligations and official duties to attend to? How could she specifically come to look after herself?
But it had been a long time since she had lain next to Violet like this, and she had almost forgotten Violet’s subtle fragrance. They were so close again. Tucked into Violet’s arms, it felt like she had returned to the way things used to be.
Violet never used to hold her so tightly; it was always her who clung to Violet reluctantly after each marking.
Long Ling quietly observed Violet’s deep features as she slept, noticing the dark circles beneath her eyes.
She had been restless after drinking last night, and Violet had been the one tenderly taking care of her, soothing her, and holding her like a baby.
A warm current flowed through Long Ling’s heart, and she couldn’t help but feel a little pity. She knew that Violet hadn’t been doing well these days either. She was a big, stubborn, hard-mouthed evil dragon, but she wasn’t actually that bad—just too overbearing and persistent.
She had waited for her at the tavern for several days, not just to return the cloak, but actually to see Violet a bit more.
Sometimes she wanted to tell Violet to take good care of herself, but then she remembered she was still fighting with Violet, and they had become strangers. She couldn’t openly say, Big evil dragon, you need to take care of yourself, don’t run around when your leg has just gotten better.
Violet would surely ask her, “Didn’t we become strangers? Why are you caring about me so much now? Do you still see me as your fiancée?”
Lost in thought, Long Ling couldn’t help but stroke Violet’s cheek. She remembered when Violet had kissed her, she was so angry that her eyes were bloodshot, looking like she was about to cry at any moment, yet struggling to maintain her composure.
Long Ling’s heart became a mix of sourness and bitterness, and she also felt a little like laughing at Violet.
Only a big evil dragon would think that as long as tears didn’t fall from their red eyes, no one would know that the big evil dragon could also feel sad and hurt.
Long Ling held her breath, closed her eyes, and secretly gave Violet a kiss on the forehead, full of tenderness.
She felt a little reluctant to hurt her Evil Dragon Lady now.
When the big evil dragon first raised her sharp thorns, she couldn’t help but want to wrap her with her soft body a little tighter. When the big evil dragon was hurt and sad, she felt the pain as if it were her own and could never bring herself to stab the big evil dragon in her softest, most vulnerable spot.
After Long Ling secretly kissed Violet, Violet’s eyelashes trembled, and the hands wrapped around Long Ling’s waist couldn’t help but tighten their grip.
The time they spent together was precious, and Violet couldn’t bear to close her eyes for a moment.
When she realized Long Ling was awake, she was afraid Long Ling would start an argument like before, blaming her for ignoring her wishes and forcefully bringing her here. But none of that happened. Long Ling woke up and even secretly kissed her.
It was a very light kiss, but it felt like it had burned the softest part of her heart, making her fragile and insecure soul tremble lightly.
She knew that the little dragon still liked her deep down, and always had her in her heart. That was enough.
The more Violet thought this way, the more erratic her breathing became. A flush quickly spread across her cheeks, like a young dragon who had never seen the world, and even her heart rate sped up.
When Long Ling realized Violet was awake, she realized she had done something foolish.
She actually thought Violet was asleep and secretly kissed her. Violet must be over the moon now.
How embarrassing, she felt like crying because of her own stupidity!
Long Ling hid under the quilt, only her translucent dragon horns poking out.
Violet saw the little dragon in her arms slip away. She opened her eyes, saw the little sweetheart hiding under the quilt, and couldn’t help but smile.
Violet wasn’t in a hurry and waited quietly for Long Ling to get over her shyness. Finally, she saw Long Ling slowly emerge from the quilt.
The two little patches of red on Long Ling’s face hadn’t cooled down yet. She said to Violet, “I didn’t go home last night. My mother must be worried. I need to leave.”
Violet pulled Long Ling into her arms: “I took care of you for so long and I’m very tired. You don’t feel any sympathy for me, you just want to go home to your mother. You were drunk last night, sleeping on the lounge chair in the garden. I was the one who carried you back to the resting room. You put me through a lot, and I’ve been taking good care of you. My hands are sore from being tired.”
She tacitly avoided mentioning the little strawberry dragon’s secret kiss just now. After all, she had also secretly kissed Long Ling several times while coaxing her to sleep.
Long Ling knew Violet must have been very tired and felt a bit embarrassed: “Thank you.”
Violet held out her hand to her: “Give me a rub. And stop always pushing me away. Besides me, no other dragon would be so kind as to pick you up.”
Violet’s hand was very beautiful, with long, slender fingers and cool, fair skin. Her wrist was also thinner than Long Ling’s. Long Ling couldn’t see any redness, but the thought that Violet had genuinely looked after her still touched her heart.
Long Ling rubbed Violet’s hand twice but then grew suspicious of her words: “How did you know I was in the garden?”
Violet casually said, “I happened to be passing by and picked you up when I saw you.”
