Irreversible - Chapter 41
Chapter 41: A Pitiful Scoundrel (Part 1)
Gu Xizhou spent a long time in the bathroom before her body finally calmed down completely. The physical reaction embarrassed her; she sat in the bathtub, covering her face with a look of dejection.
In the master bedroom, Su Zhiyi waited for a long while, but Gu Xizhou never emerged. After some thought, she walked to the bathroom door and tapped lightly. “Xizhou…”
Hearing her voice, Gu Xizhou instinctively looked down. Seeing the part of her that showed no sign of receding, she felt a sense of collapse. She leaned back, slapped her forehead with her palm, and let out a helpless sigh.
Sigh…
Since presenting, she had rarely used this redundant organ. Because of Su Nanfeng, she even felt a hint of loathing toward her own body. Maybe she should just go and have it surgically removed, claiming she’d had an accident in her youth or had a psychological barrier.
If she truly did everything with Su Zhiyi and became tainted with her pheromones, she might even run the risk of entering a rut. Wouldn’t the losses outweigh the gains?
Gu Xizhou’s thoughts were a chaotic mess, but the core was singular: the version of herself that agreed to date was a total idiot. She and Su Zhiyi should never have crossed paths. Why hadn’t Su Zhiyi moved on to someone else yet? Was the attraction of pheromones really that powerful?
Outside, Su Zhiyi waited without an answer and knocked a few more times. “Xizhou… are you still awake, Xizhou?”
I’m awake, Gu Xizhou thought. Extremely, energetically awake!
With a sense of self-abandonment, she climbed out of the tub, dried herself off, threw on her pajamas, and yanked the bathroom door open. The door slid open with a sharp whoosh, startling Su Zhiyi. She raised a hand to her chest, looking down at Gu Xizhou, her cheeks still tinged with pink. “Are you okay?” she asked cautiously, choosing her words carefully.
Seeing that face, Gu Xizhou felt a surge of unprovoked anger. She suppressed it and spoke with great gravity: “Zhiyi…”
Su Zhiyi blinked, her long lashes trembling slightly. “Mhm?”
Gu Xizhou took a deep breath, looked up at her, and gave a serious reminder: “For better or worse, I am an Alpha.”
Su Zhiyi nodded obediently. “I know.”
Gu Xizhou felt she didn’t know at all. She bit her lip and said with a hint of frustration, “Don’t provoke me like that next time. If this continues, you’ll get pregnant.”
Su Zhiyi’s face flushed instantly. Her heart pounded, and she began to stammer incoherently. “It’s not… it’s not that exaggerated.” Just being a bit intimate—even if they did it, there were contraceptives. How could it get to that point?
Gu Xizhou grew angry. “What if? What if it does? What would you do if there’s a child—would you marry me? You’re about to start graduate school; having a baby in a research institute isn’t good. And what if, when I’m touching you, I can’t stop myself from marking you?”
Gu Xizhou was fuming. She knew what she was angry about, but she couldn’t explain it to Su Zhiyi. What could be more absurd and ridiculous than falling for the younger sister of her enemy? She was a joke through and through. If Su Nanfeng came back and saw all this, would she see through her thoughts and mock her?
Ah, I deserve this.
Late night is a season for animalistic instincts. Pheromone-induced urges and years of suppressed emotions held Gu Xizhou’s brain in a firm grip, leaving her in a state of extreme fragmentation. Her logic told her to turn and leave, but her instincts urged her to use her primal nature to tear the Omega before her to shreds. Tear her up, chew her to pieces, and swallow her whole to fill the long-ignored hunger for pheromones.
Yet Su Zhiyi remained oblivious. Hearing Gu Xizhou’s words, she couldn’t help but let out a giggle. She took a step forward, circled her arms around Gu Xizhou’s shoulders, and pulled her into a deep embrace, saying with a smile, “Gu Xizhou, you’re so cute…”
Gu Xizhou was met with a full embrace, her nose and mouth filled with the sweet scent of the Omega. She felt she was going to lose it again.
Ugh, so annoying!
Gu Xizhou thought to herself: If I don’t give this woman a lesson, she’ll never know what terrifying creatures Alphas can be.
In a fit of desperation, Gu Xizhou pulled her into her arms, pressing their bodies tightly together. When the sensation from earlier returned against her inner thigh, Su Zhiyi’s ears turned red, and she stammered shyly, “How are you… not better yet?”
Su Zhiyi was a medical student after all; though she knew female Alphas had almost no refractory period, Gu Xizhou being like this was a bit too capable.
Gu Xizhou leaned against Su Zhiyi and said in a hoarse voice, “So, do you know how much danger you’re in now?”
Unfortunately, her height wasn’t intimidating, and she didn’t like using pheromones to suppress Omegas. Furthermore, after so many years together, Su Zhiyi knew her nature so well that she wasn’t scared at all.
Su Zhiyi’s face was burning. She slid her arms under Gu Xizhou’s ribs and held her in a deep embrace. Their breaths mingled, and their bodies pressed together were scalding hot. Su Zhiyi, feeling like the more mature one, suppressed her shame and spoke: “If you can’t hold back, do you want to try?”
Compared to Gu Xizhou, who was trembling in this relationship—addicted and unable to free herself while suffering in agony—Su Zhiyi experienced it as a relatively healthy romantic relationship. Raised by her mother, Su Zhiyi was someone capable of loving, which meant she didn’t reject intimacy. In fact, she took the lead in this relationship.
Su Zhiyi leaned down, letting her kisses fall tentatively on Gu Xizhou’s cheek, pecking at her gently. “If you don’t mind, I’m going to kiss you.”
Gu Xizhou tilted her head and captured her lips.
The alluring cherry scent was like a misty rain, drenching Gu Xizhou and seeping into her very marrow. Gu Xizhou closed her eyes and gripped her waist like a barefoot child diving into the rain, indulging without reservation.
In the air, pheromones were being exchanged. Holding Su Zhiyi, Gu Xizhou stumbled back into the room and was pushed onto the bed. As Su Zhiyi straddled her, looking down at her from above, Gu Xizhou lay beneath her, staring at her face. Amidst the blurred passion, she caught a glimpse of a corner of the past.
It was also a late night like this, after a birthday revelry, when she had escorted Su Nanfeng back to her hotel room. When she tried to leave, Su Nanfeng wouldn’t let her go. Su Nanfeng sat kneeling on the bed, hooking her arms around Gu Xizhou’s neck, drunkenly leaning against her back, poking her cheek and saying, “Gu Xizhou, I’ve realized you’re actually quite good-looking. Better looking than a lot of Omegas.”
Gu Xizhou’s hair stood on end. Su Nanfeng hooked her neck, pulled her into her arms, and pinched her chin to examine her, her eyes hazy with alcohol. “You are truly a strange person. You clearly hate me, yet you follow my lead. But you aren’t like Ding Yi; Ding Yi does it because the adults in her family asked my mom. You… you’re just purely afraid of me. I treated you like that before, and you didn’t resist. You could actually endure it. You’re quite impressive.”
Gu Xizhou clenched her fists, wanting nothing more than to punch Su Nanfeng. But she didn’t dare; she was used to this kind of mockery. Gu Xizhou swatted Su Nanfeng’s hand away, her voice trembling: “You’ve had too much to drink. You should sleep.”
Su Nanfeng smiled, her hands resting on Gu Xizhou’s slender waist, her tone clearly curious: “Does an Alpha as dainty as you ever get Omegas confessing to you?”
Gu Xizhou shoved Su Nanfeng’s hands away, her voice rising: “You should sleep! I’m leaving!”
She tried to run, but Su Nanfeng had long limbs; she pulled her back into her arms, grabbed both of Gu Xizhou’s hands in one of hers, and pinned her down. Gu Xizhou instinctively raised a leg to kick her in the chest, but Su Nanfeng used her own legs to clamp down on hers, pinning her firmly. Gu Xizhou was like a lamb tackled by a predator—isolated, helpless, and on the brink of despair. She was shaking all over, her skin crawling. “Let me go! Let me go, Su Nanfeng!”
She struggled, but as they were both Alphas and Su Nanfeng was much taller, she had almost no way to escape. As she struggled, defensive pheromones leaked from the back of her neck, filling the room. The pheromones of a high-level Alpha made Su Nanfeng uncomfortable; she was even shaking.
Su Nanfeng narrowed her eyes, scrutinizing the Gu Xizhou beneath her. “Quite potent…”
Su Nanfeng released her own pheromones. In their mutual torment, she ripped away Gu Xizhou’s clothes and grasped her with one hand. Gu Xizhou’s eyes widened, and she screamed in terror, “Su Nanfeng!”
Su Nanfeng turned a deaf ear, letting out a sneer. “Consider this a favor to you.” She leaned down and took the most vulnerable part of Gu Xizhou into her mouth.
“Ugh…”
Gu Xizhou gasped, momentarily losing her voice. Tears slid from the corners of her eyes, flowing out in large droplets. After that, she felt nothing. Su Nanfeng straddled her, her tall frame sinking down. Amidst the other’s pained gasp, Gu Xizhou felt a moist trail winding across her lower abdomen.
That redundant female Alpha organ felt as if it didn’t belong to her body at all—it was completely controlled within Su Nanfeng’s body. She kept crying… she kept crying… silently and endlessly.
Just like now.
Gu Xizhou looked up through blurred, tearful eyes at the familiar face, her entire body shaking.
Su Zhiyi, who had been leaning down to kiss her, faintly heard the sound of crying. She looked up, and seeing Gu Xizhou staring at the ceiling with vacant eyes and a face drenched in tears, all her romantic thoughts vanished. Su Zhiyi quickly got up, pulled Gu Xizhou into her arms, and asked, “What’s wrong? What happened?”
Even if she didn’t want to do it, there was no need to cry like this—she looked exactly as if someone had bullied her.
The Omega’s scent was sweet cherry, entirely different from the Alpha’s bitter green tangerine. When she couldn’t see the face, Gu Xizhou could briefly allow herself to forget the blood relation between these two.
Gu Xizhou buried her face in Su Zhiyi’s embrace, letting her tears flow freely against her softness, sobbing intermittently: “Su… Su Zhiyi…”
Why do you have to be Su Zhiyi?
