I Transmigrated into a Scummy Alpha and Stole the Heroine from Her Tragic Romance - Chapter 28
Both Yu Peirong and Min Min paused in surprise.
Qi Xiyao’s voice had always been gentle, but at this moment, there was a quiet edge to it. It wasn’t aggressive, but it carried a subtle firmness. Her clear and beautiful eyes were fixed on Min Min, who stood beside Yu Peirong. That gaze felt sharp enough to pierce through, and it made Min Min feel increasingly uneasy.
Frustrated, Min Min ran a hand through her short hair and spoke.
“You’re both Omegas. How could that possibly end well?”
Alphas and Omegas were naturally drawn to each other. Especially during an Alpha’s susceptibility phase or an Omega’s heat cycle, both were extremely vulnerable and needed each other’s pheromones to remain calm.
There were rare Alpha-Alpha couples, but that only worked if one Alpha had exceptionally weak pheromones and didn’t reject the other. As for Omega-Omega relationships, those were practically unheard of. Min Min could not help thinking that Qi Xiyao had said all this just to avoid her. She didn’t believe that Yu Peirong and Qi Xiyao could truly have a relationship.
Wasn’t Qi Xiyao supposed to like Yu Shang?
Seeing the shift in her expression, Yu Peirong could guess what she was thinking. She raised her eyebrows slightly and gave a quiet chuckle, then took Qi Xiyao’s hand in hers.
The Omega’s skin was smooth and soft, like fine white jade. The moment their fingers intertwined, it felt pleasant and warm. Qi Xiyao didn’t resist at all. In fact, she leaned in gently against Yu Peirong’s shoulder. The two looked perfectly in sync, close and intimate.
A soft breeze swept past, their hair brushing together lightly. The scent on Qi Xiyao was fresh and clean, like bergamot, slowly melting into the air like something intoxicating.
“Yaoyao and I are serious.”
Yu Peirong’s voice was calm but firm.
That left Min Min with nothing more to say. After all, Yu Peirong was an adult. She clearly knew what she was doing and wasn’t someone who could be easily swayed by others.
Min Min bit her lip, turned away with a mix of frustration and disappointment, and walked off.
Only after watching her disappear into the hotel did Yu Peirong let go of Qi Xiyao’s hand and quietly said, “Sorry.”
But Qi Xiyao’s reaction was not at all what she had expected.
The woman nodded, pressing her lips together. Her makeup had been removed, and she hadn’t had time to care for her skin. Her lips were a little dry from speaking too much at the police station. She instinctively wanted to lick them, but stopped herself.
When Yu Peirong started the car and opened the door for her, Qi Xiyao climbed in and slowly buckled her seatbelt.
The air inside the car was still and silent, the minutes passing quietly. As Yu Peirong turned on autopilot and began to drive back along the same route, Qi Xiyao looked up toward the glass doors of the hotel lobby. Just as she expected, a figure stood there.
Min Min hadn’t gone to her room. Instead, she leaned against the wall, playing absently with her short hair, looking aimless.
When she saw their car, she stepped forward slightly, as if torn. She really did like Yu Peirong. After learning that Yu Peirong was actually an Omega, she had been so excited she wanted to fly over and confess everything. She never imagined Yu Peirong would like another Omega.
Qi Xiyao looked away from her and turned her eyes to Yu Peirong.
“What’s wrong?” Yu Peirong asked.
She had immediately noticed the subtle shift in her mood. At first, she thought Qi Xiyao might have been upset about something at the police station. But as soon as she asked, the woman frowned and pouted slightly, her tone unconsciously taking on a mixture of complaint and soft affection.
“I thought you didn’t want me anymore.”
Qi Xiyao hugged the pillow in the car tightly, pulling it close to her chest as if trying to hide behind it. Her chin rested gently on the soft cushion. Her voice was so delicate it was almost dripping with emotion.
She was genuinely scared.
Maybe it was because her heat cycle was approaching, or because of all the shocks she had experienced recently, but her emotions had been increasingly unstable. She found herself caught between fear and uncertainty.
The moment she heard that Yu Peirong was going out with Min Min, she couldn’t explain why, but it bothered her deeply.
During this time, Yu Peirong had been so kind to her. Although her tone could still be sharp sometimes, the coldness from before had clearly softened. Even when she scolded her, there was a warmth behind her words.
Yu Peirong was too good to her.
So good that Qi Xiyao had started to doubt it.
Ever since learning that Yu Peirong was an Omega, her feelings had begun to change. At first, it was shock and comfort. Later, it became something else—an unspoken kind of hope.
If only Yu Peirong were an Alpha.
Qi Xiyao could feel her heat approaching. After differentiation, an Omega’s body would go through complicated changes over time. The most obvious one was a growing desire for Alpha pheromones.
If there was no Alpha to help, relying only on suppressants again and again could eventually backfire. In the worst case, it could cause the Omega’s nervous system and glands to weaken like a dried-up lake.
She couldn’t find an Alpha she truly trusted, which made her feel even more anxious.
As this thought settled in, Qi Xiyao’s eyes became slightly glassy. She could already imagine how helpless she might become during her next heat. She didn’t want to be in a situation where she had no control at all.
At some point, she closed her eyes. But when she opened them again, her earlier fears had already filled her chest, pressing in tightly, leaving no room for reason.
Then she heard Yu Peirong’s voice, steady and calm as always.
“Are you afraid, Qi Xiyao?”
Qi Xiyao looked at her through tear-filled eyes.
Yu Peirong had hit the mark with perfect accuracy, exposing the deepest fear hidden inside her heart.
“Focus on your filming. Don’t let your mind wander. With me around, there’s no reason for you to be afraid.”

In the days that followed, Yu Peirong stayed with Qi Xiyao on set. The next part of her schedule was packed tightly, and for more than two weeks, she only slept four or five hours a night. It was a nonstop pace, but Qi Xiyao never showed signs of fatigue.
Even the producers, who were used to seeing actors push themselves to their limits, commented that Qi Xiyao was the most hardworking Omega they had ever seen.
Unlike Alphas, Omegas generally had weaker physical stamina. While they were known for endurance, even many Alphas would struggle to keep up with this kind of intense schedule.
But Qi Xiyao seemed to enjoy it. She never complained and treated everyone on set with respect. As a result, she had become well-liked among the crew.
Two weeks later, Yu Peirong found her a new assistant. After carefully screening candidate after candidate, she finally selected someone completely disconnected from Yu Shang’s influence.
With the new assistant in place, Yu Peirong planned to return to the company. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust her cousin running things in her absence, but as CEO, it was her responsibility to check in on the company’s condition personally.
Before leaving, she gave Qi Xiyao a good supply of suppressants and pheromone patches. She brought both Alpha and Omega variants, including the powerful kind she had once used on the street to take down those two Alphas.
These suppressants were strong but came with side effects and were extremely expensive. A single milliliter cost four figures, and one full tube could cost five figures. Most families couldn’t afford them, but they were ideal for Omega self-defense.
“Be prepared. If anything happens, call me. Your emotions might get unstable when your heat approaches. If your next scene is intense, get into character early. Don’t wait until you’re on set to stir up emotions.”
Yu Peirong couldn’t help herself. Her love for acting always slipped into conversations.
She also set special message alerts for Qi Xiyao, in case anything unexpected happened. But her return to the company wasn’t just routine. She had plans to investigate two things. First, the case involving that Omega who had ended up in a psychiatric hospital years ago. Second, Zhao Siyan.
Yu Peirong already knew Zhao Siyan was one of Yu Shang’s people. Qi Xiyao’s kidnapping had come out of nowhere, and afterward, her assistant insisted she had acted on her own because she didn’t want Qi Xiyao working with outsiders. For now, the police hadn’t found any hard evidence in the message records and couldn’t proceed further.
So Yu Peirong decided to handle it herself. She needed to remove the threat around the female lead once and for all.
It wasn’t that she was overly protective of Qi Xiyao. She just didn’t want this woman to rise to power one day and come back to settle scores with her.
That was Yu Peirong’s honest thought.

Her cousin was indeed doing an excellent job managing the company.
After dealing with several things herself, Yu Peirong finally had a moment of free time. Just as she sat down to rest, Yu Shang showed up uninvited, acting eager and helpful. He even handed her a proposal as if offering a gift.
Yu Peirong didn’t even need to open the document. Just reading the title on the front page made her raise her eyebrows in disbelief. She turned to look at Yu Shang, wondering if he had completely lost his mind.
“Proposal to establish an internal Alpha and Omega pheromone reserve system to prevent mental fatigue during special periods?”
Her expression turned cold. Her voice was icy. She curled her lips in a mocking smile and tossed the printed proposal hard onto the desk. At first, she had only thought Yu Shang was a little dim, but now she was beginning to wonder if his head was full of straw.
How could he be so shameless? His true motives were completely exposed, yet he still made it sound so noble.
Yu Peirong almost laughed in anger. She was just about to scold him when a video call popped up on her screen, cutting off her brewing sarcasm.
Already annoyed, she picked up the call without even looking at the screen.
“What is it? Didn’t we agree that you’d only contact me if something serious happened?”
The video connected, and Qi Xiyao’s delicate face filled the frame. She was wearing a vibrant red dress that made her look like a blooming flame. Her voice came through just as clearly, warm and gentle like a spring breeze.
“I missed you, Sister Rong. Doesn’t that count as something serious?”
