I Ran Away After Flirting with the Goddess - Chapter 12
Chapter 12
An Rongrong lingered in Shen Lishu’s room until nearly eleven o’clock before reluctantly heading out.
Clutching her script with both hands, she looked back at Shen Lishu every three steps. She would much rather sleep on the Goddess’s floor than go back to sleep in her own bed.
“Go to sleep early. You have to get up early for filming tomorrow.” Shen Lishu waved goodbye and saw her to the door. “Goodnight.”
Goodnight? Goodnight!
The Goddess said goodnight to her!
An Rongrong used to pray before bed, saying she was willing to trade ten pounds of fat for a “goodnight” from her Big Sister. Now, that wish had suddenly come true?!
While feeling satisfied, An Rongrong also felt a sense of emptiness in her heart.
The very second Shen Lishu closed the door, An Rongrong clasped her hands, closed her eyes, and bowed devoutly in every direction, mumbling under her breath.
“I hope the next place the Goddess says goodnight to me is in bed. This believer is willing to trade ten pounds of fat for it. Please, I beg of you!”
To pursue her Goddess, An Rongrong originally a top-tier student bathed in the light of socialism had actually turned into a superstitious soul babbling about fate.
Since the new drama had just started filming, all departments of the crew were still in the adjustment phase, and the workload wasn’t too heavy. In a few days, such good days probably wouldn’t last.
Work started at around eight the next morning. At seven-thirty, Director Mao was already @-ing every department in the group chat.
After crawling out of bed, An Rongrong first sent a message to Shen Lishu, waiting to head out together.
The sun was quite strong outside today. Shen Lishu was wearing sunglasses. Seeing An Rongrong about to head out so carelessly, she reached out and pulled her own hat down onto An Rongrong’s head.
Even if you’re young, you can’t be this reckless.
“A girl needs to love herself. The first step is proper sun protection.” Shen Lishu passed on her maintenance experience as a seasoned veteran. “Even if you get a boyfriend, remember to put loving yourself first.”
Shen Lishu’s personal items always carried her unique, subtle perfume scent, and the hat was no exception.
That scent lingered right under An Rongrong’s nose, making it impossible for her to focus on what Shen Lishu was saying. She only felt her ears burning hot, and the tip of her heart felt like it was being teased by a feather so itchy she could only giggle like a fool.
She wanted to take the hat off, hold it in her arms, and find a place to treasure it forever. This was the Goddess’s hat! A hat the Goddess had actually worn! By the transitive property of proximity, she was now someone who possessed one of Shen Lishu’s personal items.
An Rongrong felt like a total sasaeng fan, the kind whose mind was constantly running wild.
By the time she realized what Shen Lishu had said, they were almost at the hotel entrance.
An Rongrong jogged a few steps to catch up. “I don’t have a boyfriend. I haven’t even held a boy’s hand.”
Thinking of her own orientation, her eyes flickered shyly elsewhere as she added in a soft voice, “I don’t have a girlfriend either. Anyway, I don’t have any ‘friends’ like that at all.”
Hearing this, Shen Lishu glanced at her sideways, smiled, and rubbed the top of the hat on An Rongrong’s head with her palm.
When An Rongrong’s face gets red, her tongue tends to slip. “But I do have someone I like.”
As soon as she said it, she regretted it. She covered her mouth with her hand, her eyes blinking rapidly as she looked at Shen Lishu nervously. Her large eyes were darting back and forth; it was incredibly cute.
Every time she saw this little expression, Shen Lishu couldn’t resist teasing her.
Shen Lishu hooked her finger on her glasses, pulling them down slightly to reveal her eyes. She suddenly leaned her face close to An Rongrong’s. Her red lips curled slightly as she whispered, “Is it me?”
At that moment, An Rongrong felt like all surrounding sounds had vanished, leaving only the thump-thump of her own heart.
This is cheating.
An Rongrong almost nodded on the spot. Be confident! It’s you, it’s you! Only you!
Before she could speak, a crowd of fans suddenly swarmed out from somewhere at the bottom of the hotel steps. Holding light boards and banners, they shouted loudly at Shen Lishu, “Sister! Sister, look at us!”
Shen Lishu pushed her glasses back up and looked toward the hotel exterior.
The GIFs and videos from yesterday’s trending search had exposed the hotel where Shen Lishu was staying. Although it had been blurred, fans familiar with the area could easily find her location by comparing the surrounding scenery. They had swarmed the area before dawn to wait for her.
“Sister, we love you!” someone led the shout.
Their blockage was already affecting people entering and exiting the hotel. As Shen Lishu walked out, An Rongrong followed immediately behind her.
Seeing the Goddess standing right in front of them, the fans immediately screamed, stomping their feet in excitement with eyes full of stars.
An Rongrong was all too familiar with this expression; it was exactly how she used to look. And now, she was standing right beside the Goddess, wearing the Goddess’s hat, and she had even eaten the Goddess’s lychees yesterday!
If the sisters in front of her knew this, they would die of envy and jealousy!
An Rongrong felt guilty for “betraying” her sisters on one hand, but on the other, she was gloating internally over her secret treasure. Her legs were itching; she almost wanted to do a split on the spot to calm her nerves.
Shen Lishu had always spoiled her fans. Seeing everyone waiting for her in the hot sun, she first greeted them and fulfilled their requests for photos and signatures.
When it was almost finished, she said, “It’s hot, everyone should go back. Don’t get sunburned. I’ve received all your love, but you’re not allowed to come next time, okay? Because I’m still working. You can all go back and wait for the new work to be released.”
Assistant Xiao Zhang wasn’t here today to run errands; otherwise, Shen Lishu would have wanted to buy these girls something to eat before they left. Since they arrived so early, they probably hadn’t even eaten breakfast.
“Wooo, Sister is too good!” The fans were practically biting their handkerchiefs in emotion.
“Don’t worry, Sister, we definitely won’t disturb your work. We’ll go back as soon as we see you leave.”
“Right, Sister, you go first. Once you leave, we’ll go back.”
Shen Lishu had no choice but to take An Rongrong and leave first. After walking a distance, she turned back. Seeing the fans still standing there neither following nor leaving Shen Lishu’s heart softened. She raised her arm and waved to them. “Go back now.”
Even as a top-tier star in the circle and the “ceiling” of the acting world, and despite being dissed by marketing accounts for having a bad temper or being cold, Shen Lishu was always gentle and indulgent toward her fans. She had stood directly in the sun, taken off her sunglasses to take photos, and signed autographs just to get them to go home.
An Rongrong watched her quietly from the side the whole time. Her eyes felt a bit hot; she had an urge to cry. She felt like Shen Lishu was glowing in the sunlight, with even her hair strands carrying a golden halo.
No wonder the Goddess was loved by so many because she was worth it!
After returning to the film set, An Rongrong sat in a corner whimpering as she used her secret side account to post a “mini-essay,” expressing her deep love for Shen Lishu, wishing she could carve out her heart for her.
Just before logging out, An Rongrong entered Shen Lishu’s Super Topic to take a look. She saw a “sister” had posted a photo taken with Shen Lishu, and An Rongrong was also in the shot.
She was wearing Shen Lishu’s hat. Coincidentally, it was the exact same one Shen Lishu had worn yesterday.
Someone left a comment asking: “Who is that person next to her wearing Sister’s hat?”
