- Chapter 6 - You Can Think of Me Anytime
Lin Ruocheng twitched her lips. Looking at eyelashes was meant to shorten the distance and create an ambiguous atmosphere, not literally staring at eyelashes!
“You brought a gift, didn’t you? Take it out and sincerely apologize for what happened this afternoon.”
Following the instruction from the earpiece, Song Wanqing took out the gift, a present wrapped in a plastic bag.
As soon as she handed it to Yu Qiuli, Yu Qiuli mistook it for trash and smoothly tossed it into a nearby trash can.
Smooth as silk.
Perfect!
No wonder this pair was truly a match made in heaven.
For the latter half of the date, the two of them were seen rummaging through the trash can with sticks.
Fu Yanxi hung up the call with Yu Qiuli, and a new call came in.
Lin Ruocheng glanced up and was about to speak when Fu Yanxi patted her shoulder, pointed to her earpiece, and ended the phone call.
Lin Ruocheng looked up again.
“What’s wrong?”
“The dean wants to have a small meeting with both of us.”
“Oh, okay.”
Lin Ruocheng had been squatting for too long, and her legs were a bit numb and weak. Just as she was about to stumble into a male student in front of her, a force pulled her back.
A cool fragrance instantly filled her nostrils.
Hmm, it smelled really nice, truly lovely.
“Let’s go. Can you walk now?”
“Yeah, I can.”
Fu Yanxi released her hand and supported Lin Ruocheng as they left the playground, completely forgetting about the two “machines” still there.
The dean had known Fu Yanxi for a long time, she had been the student council president since her freshman year, so he was naturally familiar with her.
“You’re here?”
“Yes. This is the new student council vice president, Lin Ruocheng. And this is Dean Wang.”
“Hello, Dean Wang.”
Lin Ruocheng stood properly with her hands in front of her, feeling a little nervous, to be honest.
“Don’t worry. I called you here today to discuss the arrangements for the 80th-anniversary school celebration. The event is in about three months, around November. Initially, we considered using past plans or borrowing ideas from other schools, but then I remembered, this is the era of you young people, so you can design it yourselves.”
“Also, as the student council president and vice president, it’s tradition for the two of you to perform a skit together. Remember, it has to be a joint performance.”
“Oh, and you’ll also be the hosts. As for the skit, feel free to come up with something, the livelier, the better. You can finalize the plan yourselves; just show me the final version.”
Fu Yanxi had no objections. She was used to it.
But Lin Ruocheng clearly felt awkward. With a forced smile, she agreed.
After the dean left, Lin Ruocheng slumped into a chair, wishing she could just collapse right there in the office. Why did the student council have to handle all this?
Not that planning was bad, but why did there have to be so many performances?
Couldn’t they just wing it?
“Any ideas, Lin Ruocheng?”
Fu Yanxi turned on the computer nearby. The screen’s glow illuminated her face, making her profile even more striking.
“Could you just call me Chengzi? I’m used to that. My full name sounds like I’m in trouble.”
Fu Yanxi paused for a moment, then said softly, “Okay, Chengzi.”
Lin Ruocheng glanced at the calendar. There were still three whole months to go.
“No rush, take your time. President, what ideas do you have? I heard you were the top science student back in the day, you must have plenty of brilliant ideas.”
Lin Ruocheng leaned in to look at the computer.
Her hair carried a faint, sweet scent of oranges.
Like a freshly sliced, juicy orange.
The entire office seemed to be filled only with the orange fragrance emanating from her.
“Fu Yanxi? Xiao Yanyan? Xiao Xixi? can I call you that?”
Lin Ruocheng chuckled softly. This person… a strategist?
She had initially thought this person was highly skilled, but it turned out they were all offense and no defense.
Fu Yanxi directly wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her onto her lap.
Before Lin Ruocheng could react, she was already encircled in the other’s embrace.
Something felt off, what was going on?
Truly a master, using physical contact to break through others’ teasing.
Lin Ruocheng’s brain struggled to keep up.
Now, there were only two options.
The first: show clear disgust, push her away, and endure an awkward semester together.
Not only would it disrupt the school festival preparations, but it would also hinder Song Wanqing’s pursuit of love.
That wouldn’t do.
The second: boldly confront the situation head-on.
If she escalated, Lin Ruocheng would escalate too, though it might risk things getting out of hand.
The situation could quickly spiral out of control.
Then, she could record the flirtatious banter between herself and Fu Yanxi and sell it at a high price to those two gossipers.
That wouldn’t be such a bad outcome.
She could even make some extra money.
Lin Ruocheng wrapped her arms around the other’s neck, clearly sensing Fu Yanxi’s body stiffen slightly.
So, after all that, she was all talk.
But unfortunately, Lin Ruocheng wasn’t.
She reached out and removed Fu Yanxi’s glasses.
“Your glasses are really nice, sister, but I prefer these eyes that can only hold me.”
Lin Ruocheng lightly tapped her fingers on Fu Yanxi’s eyelids.
Then, she put the glasses on herself.
Only then did she realize the lenses had no prescription.
She wasn’t nearsighted, they were probably blue-light blocking.
“Is that so? I feel the same.”
Fu Yanxi took the glasses off, gently biting one of the temple tips.
She raised an eyebrow at Lin Ruocheng.
Lin Ruocheng nodded repeatedly in agreement, this person really was a pro.
Who knew how many people she had dated?
She leaned in and lightly bit the other temple tip.
Her thumb gently pinched Fu Yanxi’s earlobe.
“Xiao Xixi, your ears are so red~ How many people have you dated? And you’re still this innocent?”
“And you, Xiao Chengzi, how many have you dated? You go first. Tell me your answer, then I’ll tell you mine.”
“You go first. If you don’t, I won’t either.”
Lin Ruocheng released the glasses and leaned down toward the pierced ear.
Her warm breath brushed against Fu Yanxi’s ear.
In no time, the ear turned completely red.
Fu Yanxi heard her soft laughter as Lin Ruocheng successfully stood up from her lap.
She leaned in close to Fu Yanxi’s ear again.
Deliberately adding a hint of seduction to her voice.
“All offense and no defense, Xiao Xixi~ That won’t do, you need to change~”
“I’ll head out now. We can discuss the rest tomorrow.”
“Bye.”
After speaking, she intentionally brushed her nose against Fu Yanxi’s earlobe.
As a water sign, she loved the ambiguous stage the most.
A little back-and-forth was what made it fun.
Not long after Lin Ruocheng left, the phone lying face-down on the side table chimed with a message notification.
Lin Ruocheng: “How do you feel today, President Fu? When you’re free and not busy with work, you can think of me~ Of course, you can think of me when you’re busy too, I’m not picky! As long as you keep me in your heart, that’s enough (expectant)”
Fu Yanxi casually pinned the chat and set a special alert for the sender.
Seems somewhat intriguing…
