I Heard That I am a HeartBreaker - Chapter 59
“Are you looking for money?”
After hearing the other party speak, Qi Sijiao seemed to have a sudden realization. She hurriedly opened her phone to start a bank transfer. Seeing her actions, Qiu Shuang was startled.
She had only said it in passing; she couldn’t possibly take the other girl’s money. One shouldn’t take such ill-gotten gains.
“Qi Sijiao, can you please calm down! You’re acting like…”
Before Qiu Shuang could finish her sentence, Qi Sijiao grabbed her hand. Qiu Shuang looked at her with fear and tension, terrified that she might do something strange.
However, what she met first were the other’s tears. Drops of water slid down Qi Sijiao’s cheeks one by one, falling onto the back of Qiu Shuang’s hand. They should have been cold, yet they felt so scalding.
Qi Sijiao felt truly at a loss. She wanted to touch the other girl but feared she would completely turn her back on her, so she could only try to get close in this manner.
She knew that although Qiu Shuang had a sharp tongue, she was always soft-hearted. If she just humbled herself a little, the other would show her some mercy.
Sure enough, Qi Sijiao saw the other’s wide, rounded eyes. They were beautiful; she wanted so badly to kiss her. But that thought only appeared for a fleeting moment before being suppressed—now was not the time.
“Senior, please, just take pity on me, okay? I really can’t live without you. That girl surnamed Chen… didn’t she like to play at self-harm?”
Qi Sijiao glanced out the window; their dormitory was on the fifth floor.
Qiu Shuang watched as she opened the window and leaned half her body out. She lunged forward immediately, pulling her back inside.
Qiu Shuang truly detested these bizarre pursuers, but she couldn’t stand by and watch someone die. She couldn’t do it. If the other person committed suicide quietly where it had nothing to do with her, that would be one thing.
But if they died right in front of her and she remained indifferent, it would be a fundamental failure of her humanity.
Qiu Shuang didn’t understand why she kept encountering people like this. What had she done wrong? Her anger was laced with a sense of agony.
“What are you doing? What do you all want from me? Are you trying to drive me to my death!”
After pulling the girl back, Qiu Shuang sat down on her own bed. She stared intently at the other, trying to see through everything, only to realize in the end that perhaps she would never understand the thoughts of these people.
Qiu Shuang had died once before. She knew very well how precious life was and how lucky it was to be able to live healthily in this world. Because of that, she couldn’t comprehend it.
Why did these wealthy people, who had their own talents and skills, suddenly want to die for no reason? Was so-called love really that terrifying? Once someone was tainted by it, did they become this insane?
Thinking of this, Qiu Shuang let out a smile, not knowing what to say. Or perhaps, she was born with the predisposition to attract these lunatics. As she smiled, a single tear fell from the corner of her eye.
Qi Sijiao looked at Qiu Shuang and didn’t know what to say. Due to Qiu Shuang’s personal habits, she had already changed into comfortable pajamas upon returning to the dorm.
She watched the girl sitting there, her smooth calves visible beneath the hem of her nightgown. Her head was turned away, leaving only a profile and that crystal-clear tear hanging from her chin.
Qi Sijiao knew she shouldn’t think this way, but she couldn’t control her fantasies. She felt like a heartless lover who had betrayed the other, leaving her helpless and sitting there weeping.
But thinking that way felt like an insult to the other person. Qi Sijiao slapped her own face, trying to toss those thoughts out of her brain.
She approached cautiously and placed her hand on the back of the other’s hand. Seeing that Qiu Shuang didn’t show an obvious rejection, she breathed a sigh of relief.
“I’m sorry, it’s my fault. Don’t be angry, Senior. You can hit me however you like, as long as it makes you feel better.”
Qiu Shuang pushed her away. After washing her face, she decided to change her clothes and head out to self-study, then go straight to class. Nothing in the world was more important than her studies; these psychos could die wherever they pleased.
Seeing that Qiu Shuang was clearly ignoring her and packing her things, Qi Sijiao sighed. If she had known, she wouldn’t have learned those PUA techniques with that “Chen” bitch; it was useless and instead only pushed the person further away.
Chen Wanjun sat quietly, watching Qiu Shuang. She noticed the other’s lack of focus because she had actually taken notes—this was strange. Specifically, she saw the messy handwriting and guessed that Qiu Shuang was in a bad mood.
Qiu Shuang looked at Chen Wanjun. Thinking of the other’s past behaviors, especially the things that happened in the dormitory, she didn’t want to say anything at all.
However, perverts might have things in common; perhaps she could get some “tips” here.
Chen Wanjun felt like she was dying of happiness. It had been a long time since she had been in contact with Shuangshuang. This time, the other had actually taken the initiative to talk to her. It was truly a windfall. Although she didn’t know what Qiu Shuang’s motive was, the fact that she wasn’t scheming against others, but only against her, felt like true love.
Originally, this was a very happy occasion, but as Qiu Shuang laid out the situation, Chen Wanjun declared that this day was no longer worth being happy about.
“She thinks she’s worthy?”
“Isn’t she just like you in the beginning? Your ‘good friend’.”
Hearing Qiu Shuang say this, the spark in Chen Wanjun was nearly extinguished. What could she say? To insult the other girl was to insult herself. Supporting her would only lead to being scolded by Qiu Shuang. She could only remain silent.
“You are even more excessive than her. She only threatens me; she hasn’t done those disgusting things to me.”
Chen Wanjun fell into complete silence after hearing this. She guessed the other had sought her out because she was in a bad mood. This was still fine, though. Even if the other kept venting and sometimes only cared about herself, she still accepted the reality with a face full of cooperation.
Qiu Shuang thought she would never forget that scene and the sparks that inexplicably flew during those eye contacts. Regarding such terrifying things, she reaffirmed once more that what she liked most was the inner self, where everything was kept clean for others to see.
As for the things Chen Wanjun had done before, Qiu Shuang could actually somewhat accept them. After all, as a girl from the North… well, it wasn’t like she hadn’t seen such things. Their previous relationship was close, one could even say they had been “candid” with each other.
The only thing that made her feel unpleasant was the other’s self-righteousness and the smugness of seemingly being certain that Qiu Shuang could accept it.
Sometimes Qiu Shuang felt she might be a Platonist or a “sage,” but thinking about the so-called beauty between lovers, she really found it unacceptable—or rather, she couldn’t accept this.
Because from beginning to end, she had never imagined such things, or rather, she never thought she would be the passive party. Qiu Shuang truly felt these people were terrifying.
“I’m sorry, Shuangshuang. It was my fault before. If you want, I can do anything. Whenever and wherever you want, you can just find me.”
“Do you think everyone is as perverted as you?”
Qiu Shuang was truly out of options now. She discovered that talking to the other girl always returned to “that” subject within a few sentences. It had to be said, Chen Wanjun had evolved to the point where even if Qiu Shuang was the active party and she was passive, she would be okay with it—she was just obsessed with that one thing no matter what.
Qiu Shuang really wanted to crack the other’s head open to see how she had managed to become the top student. She always felt that this brain wasn’t filled with noble knowledge, but with a bunch of chaotic mess.
While it was normal to have those thoughts—they are human nature, after all—having them all the time and directed so obsessively and expansively at her alone was a bit much.
“But if you really didn’t like it… I remember when we showered together, you were always peeking at me. Then, when I looked back, you would inexplicably blush. You were so cute back then.”
It would have been better if Chen Wanjun hadn’t mentioned it. Once she did, Qiu Shuang fell silent. To be honest, perhaps it was because she was too young back then; she couldn’t hide things on her face, and it wasn’t a huge deal.
After all, for high schoolers, even if there were hazy emotions, they were likely limited to small fantasies—much like the mundane way a young girl might daydream about a Prince Charming in a fairy tale.
What kind of “god” would think in that direction? It was simply terrifying. Mentioning these things touched upon a part of herself that Qiu Shuang actually liked; she couldn’t say she had zero thoughts in that direction, because that would be completely against human nature.
But now, Qiu Shuang was desperate to forget these things. For her, it seemed strange. She yearned to be with someone and touch each other’s souls, but what Chen Wanjun wanted was clearly different.
The rawest instincts of an adult, carved into human DNA, had completely torn away the youthful sentimentality and that sweet, budding affection.
Qiu Shuang felt as if she could see the deeper meaning beneath that skin. She thought she had accepted it, that she had figured everything out, but one can never truly figure out another person’s heart.
Or perhaps it was Qiu Shuang’s wishful thinking. How could someone grown from an unhealthy environment be beautiful?
A poisonous swamp can only sprout thorny flowers. You think the other is beautiful, but the moment you touch them, a fatal toxin will completely destroy you.
She will have a charming fragrance and a gorgeous appearance, but all of it is merely a trap to lure in simple hunters or self-proclaimed experts.
“I don’t want to discuss this with you, do you understand? I believe these things are pure—at least they shouldn’t be brought out for such shallow discussion.”
Qiu Shuang didn’t get any ideas from the other on how to handle perverts. Instead, it only proved that while both of them were perverts, they had seemingly branched into two different types.
It was truly a headache. Qiu Shuang was wondering: could all the perverts in the world be like weeds, and could there be a universal “herbicide” to get rid of them all at once?
At this moment, she suddenly missed Chen Jining. Qiu Shuang desperately wanted his help, or rather, his professional help.
She felt like running to the Department of Psychiatric Medicine to sit in on a few more lectures, to ask the instructors for methods to stay away from perverts, to cure perverts, and to correct perverts.
After thinking for a while, Qiu Shuang finally fell into silence. She still had to go back and face Qi Sijiao. She hoped that after some time, the girl’s head would clear up. Furthermore, the matter of moving out of the dormitory was something she should really start preparing for.
Thinking of this, Qiu Shuang was truly speechless. Why couldn’t her university life be “colorful”? Why did it have to be so warped? When would she finally be able to live a normal life?
“God, tell me, what on earth do I have to do to find peace!”
