I Heard That I am a HeartBreaker - Chapter 60
Qiu Shuang returned to the dormitory. It wasn’t as wonderful as she had hoped; the other party was there, seemingly waiting for her.
Qi Sijiao turned to look at Qiu Shuang, appearing to be deep in thought. Qiu Shuang felt a bit hair-raised by the other’s gaze; she truly couldn’t stand the other’s somewhat neurotic behavior anymore.
“Senior, are you planning to move out?”
As soon as these words left the other’s mouth, Qiu Shuang fell into an instantaneous silence. She did have this thought, but she hadn’t submitted an application yet. After all, changing dormitories was not a simple process.
But what could she say? “Yes”? She was afraid the other would suddenly pounce on her and go mad, which would be truly terrible.
“…What do you want to do?”
After Qiu Shuang said those five words, she noticed Qi Sijiao’s expression instantly turn unsightly. In that moment, Qiu Shuang even doubted herself—she had only said five words; were they some kind of magic spell? Had she completely defeated the other in one go?
“I won’t do those kinds of things anymore in the future. Can you please not move out, Senior?”
Qi Sijiao’s sentence made Qiu Shuang’s mood turn entirely unpleasant.
On the surface, this sentence seemed like an apology, but in a way, wasn’t it a threat? Qiu Shuang remembered what the other had said before: as long as she wanted to, Qiu Shuang would never be able to transfer out of this dorm.
To hell with it—can’t these “celestial” rich people just go die? How can so many immoral people have money? Why can’t she be the one with money?
Qiu Shuang clenched her fists, closed her eyes, and finally looked at Qi Sijiao.
“Then you must guarantee that you will interact with me like a normal friend. Do not have any overly intimate actions with me.”
Qiu Shuang’s attitude toward Qi Sijiao had completely shifted. The other person indeed wasn’t that smart, but she was disgusting enough; like an animal, she had a mysterious “marking point” on her.
She felt as if she had been sucked into a vortex, like a “death race,” constantly compressing her space. Everyone wanted to crush her to prove some kind of honor.
It felt as if everything was fake and easily broken. Why was the human shell so fragile? Why did the junior who was initially so yielding and polite now have such a different, terrifying face?
How did she disguise herself like that? And how did she tear off that mask? Qiu Shuang didn’t know.
“No, don’t…”
Qi Sijiao buried her face in her palms. Qiu Shuang didn’t understand what she said and took a step back first, fearing the other was having another “episode.”
Sure enough, just as Qiu Shuang expected, Qi Sijiao suddenly stood up and threw herself onto her, hugging her tightly. Just as Qiu Shuang was about to push her away, she felt tear after tear falling continuously onto her shoulder.
For a moment, Qiu Shuang didn’t know whether to feel speechless about the situation or mourn for her clothes that she’d have to wash again. She felt this scene was far too familiar; she hoped that in the future, if these people wanted to cry, they would at least spare her clothes.
“Don’t hate me, okay?”
Hearing these words, Qiu Shuang was truly speechless. She really wanted to slap the other a few times to drain the water out of her brain. So? Was there no justice left?
After doing bad things, she runs over to act so pitiful. If an outsider saw the two of them like this, they would think Qiu Shuang was some kind of “scum girl” who had wronged her.
Qiu Shuang pushed her away and looked at Qi Sijiao’s “aggrieved” expression, truly not knowing what to say. To be fair, Qi Sijiao was actually quite beautiful.
Qiu Shuang had to admit she was a sucker for a pretty face; she was always indulgent toward beautiful girls. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have come to this—letting these “god-tier” people off again and again. If they were two “ugly monsters,” Qiu Shuang would have engaged in freestyle wrestling with them long ago.
“Alright, alright, I don’t hate you. Can you stop crying now?”
Qiu Shuang felt like she spent a long time building up the mental fortitude to stop herself from pinching the other’s face. To be honest, Qi Sijiao usually seemed a bit distant and pretentious, but after crying, she looked like a little puppy—quite cute, actually.
Cute as she was, Qiu Shuang looked up at her and wondered: how could she handle this situation for good?
Hearing Qiu Shuang’s words, Qi Sijiao wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes. It seemed some things were still useful; at least the other’s attitude had softened. As expected, Senior still liked beautiful people—no wonder her “bestie” had let that “pretentious” Chen person off time and time again.
But at the thought of Qiu Shuang mentioning moving out earlier, Qi Sijiao wanted to cry again. She truly could not accept the other leaving her; even the thought was an unacceptable possibility.
“I will be very obedient, just don’t ignore me…”
Seeing that the other’s emotions had clearly stabilized, Qiu Shuang sighed. There was nothing for it; she had to control the other’s emotions first and think of another way later.
After making Qi Sijiao feel better again, Qiu Shuang felt as if she had aged ten years. Since things had temporarily become this “easy,” Qiu Shuang quickly found an excuse to run out of the dormitory.
The moment she stepped out the door, Qiu Shuang breathed a sigh of relief. Why did a place that used to be called a “home,” a “harbor,” and a “resting place” make her feel so miserable now?
Qiu Shuang felt a bit sad and didn’t understand—was it a problem with her personal constitution, or a problem with current society? Why did she always attract the attention of creeps?
Thinking of this, Qiu Shuang decided to go out and eat; otherwise, staying there wouldn’t be productive, and she didn’t have the heart to study at all.
However, just as she reached the ground floor, she looked up and saw a familiar figure—the one she least wanted to see at the moment. Qiu Shuang fell silent.
Chen Wanjun stood there. Under the glow of the sun, her figure appeared even more thin and frail. She had actually been waiting for quite a while, pondering a result she could accept.
But when she saw Qiu Shuang walking out of the dormitory with a calm face, Chen Wanjun had to accept a fact: she was truly jealous.
She really didn’t know where such an “infestation” of a copycat came from—imitating her actions and actually succeeding? Are people really that much the same?
That hateful Qi Sijiao. Thinking of this, Chen Wanjun wanted to tear the other apart and tell Qiu Shuang that she was a bastard—but while anyone had the right to say such words, she alone did not.
After all, the only difference between Chen Wanjun and Qi Sijiao was whether their relationship with Qiu Shuang was slightly better, and which of the two was more of a pervert.
“Qiu Shuang…”
Here it was—that strange tone. See? It’s coming, it’s coming again. She knew she couldn’t escape it, just when she finally thought she could have some peace.
Qiu Shuang wanted to call the police. She wanted to know how these people scheduled their “shifts.” It was one thing to come one after another, but always cutting in line was another thing entirely.
“Chen Wanjun, I am not in the mood to coax a second person right now. If you came here to cry and wail, you should go back first.”
Qiu Shuang didn’t have the energy to give her a good face, nor did she have any other thoughts. She was very hungry now and needed to eat; she didn’t want to deal with meaningless things or become a so-called “water-balancing master.”
Chen Wanjun saw the irritability in the other’s eyes. After thinking for a moment, she flashed a smile and then bid her farewell. Although she secretly followed her a moment after leaving, at least she maintained appearances.
Seeing that the other was being slightly more sensible, Qiu Shuang smiled. Well, at least she understands human speech. Give her one star for now—because she wasn’t completely sensible. Thinking of this, Qiu Shuang suddenly thought of the past.
She could have ignored them entirely, but now, just because they behaved for a moment, she was starting to feel “grateful”? How terrifying!
Thinking of this, Qiu Shuang quickly shook her head, trying to throw this terrifying realization out of her brain, and prepared to head to the cafeteria.
After solving the problem of her stomach, Qiu Shuang began to think about new ways out. She had to try. After “playing Tai Chi” with the dormitory auntie, she fell silent.
It was truly a pity that she couldn’t change dormitories.
When Qiu Shuang lived there before, she hadn’t thought about other issues. But after asking around, she realized that she was seemingly the only one who was always assigned to live with people of different majors and different years.
Before this, Qiu Shuang had never thought about it; after all, a dormitory was just a place for a short-term stay, no need to think too much. Moreover, there were far too many things in real life, and any one or two were far more important than so-called roommates.
Qiu Shuang didn’t know how to face Qi Sijiao. She had never considered the other person, nor had she ever encountered someone with such an extremely polarized personality.
Qiu Shuang was afraid that one day, the other would truly “explode.”
Love is the most regretful thing in human emotion. If the other person was always going to seek life or death over this, in the future, if the two of them argued or encountered a major issue, would it always have to end in a way that made her collapse?
Qiu Shuang could not imagine her future lover being someone who kept their life tied to their waistband at all times.
It was modern society now, not some ancient wartime period; there was no need for this. More importantly, if the other person didn’t hesitate to harm themselves, then harming Qiu Shuang would be an easy next step.
Qi Sijiao now felt she was truly stupid. She had messed things up. Originally, according to her plan, the feelings could have been sublimated; now, it was a miracle they hadn’t “desublimated.”
What now? Qi Sijiao had no ideas left. She hoped Qiu Shuang would never leave; otherwise, she didn’t know what she would do.
After thinking it over, Qiu Shuang found Lu Chen. This classmate, who was always meticulous and considerate, would always give her good advice and would always stand by her side. After all the circling, Qiu Shuang eventually found her.
“Lu Chen, if someone constantly harms themselves for the sake of so-called love, just so the other person won’t leave them, then what should be done?”
Lu Chen looked at Qiu Shuang. she knew the other had truly encountered a difficult problem; otherwise, she wouldn’t have troubled her. No matter what, the other was usually unwilling to trouble her.
“We are all university students; we all have the capacity for independent thought and basic self-control. If a person cannot even control their own temper or even their own life and death, using it to provoke others—I think such an extreme person is very unsuitable as a girlfriend.”
“But sometimes, we are equally unable to do anything about such people. The only way to gamble with this type of person is to be firm enough in oneself so that the other’s so-called self-harm becomes useless in one’s eyes. This is also a formidable challenge.”
Lu Chen paused for a moment here, but ultimately said the rest of the words anyway.
“We have all received a good education and focus on upbringing. Therefore, often, we truly find it hard to accept a partner who is like us but harms their own body. This is not your fault, Qiu Shuang; it is because you are too kind.”
