I Got Together With the Fake Heiress - Chapter 93
Five minutes before the curfew, Wen Yunqing successfully sent Liang You and Zhang Pan back to the school.
“Wuwuwu, the two of you must take Zhang Pan and me with you when you soar in the future! Our latter half of life depends on you!” Liang You said reluctantly, waving her hands wildly at the two of them.
Just moments ago, while singing, Liang You, out of curiosity, ordered a few bottles of low-alcohol fruit wine. She thought her alcohol tolerance was decent, but she hadn’t even finished one bottle before she started talking nonsense.
Precisely because of this, Liang You unrestrainedly asked the questions she had wanted to, and Wen Yunqing also revealed some of her abilities, promising Liang You that if she became rich and powerful, she definitely wouldn’t forget her.
“I’ll take Shi You back now. You two be careful,” Zhang Pan said, waving goodbye to them both. She then resignedly draped Liang You’s arm over her neck and half-dragged, half-supported her toward the dormitory.
“Our roommates seem quite interesting. They don’t seem scared at all that we know these weird things,” Wen Yunqing said with a smile, watching the two of them stumble away.
“It should be said that they are too simple-minded. They don’t think we would ever harm them,” Wen Yimeng said. If they were calculating people, they probably would have become wary after seeing that she could make Sun Miao so unlucky.
“That’s good,” Wen Yunqing’s impression of her two roommates remained positive so far. If there were no accidents, they might become good partners in the future.
After returning home and taking a shower, it was already past midnight. Since it was so late, they naturally just went to sleep under the covers—purely sleeping.
Just like usual, Wen Yunqing waited until the person beside her was breathing steadily and had entered deep sleep before letting her own consciousness empty and entering a state of rest.
“Ugh, don’t…” Wen Yimeng suddenly moaned, a painful expression crossing her face.
“Yimeng, wake up. Are you having a nightmare?” Wen Yunqing opened her eyes and tried to call Wen Yimeng awake.
Wen Yimeng seemed completely immersed in her own world. Her body began to curl into a ball, and her features were scrunched up.
This is not right. Yimeng always slept with her. How could she be having night terrors?
Wen Yunqing held her in her arms and began to send spiritual power into Wen Yimeng’s body, attempting to soothe her and help her relax.
After five minutes, Wen Yimeng’s body eased slightly, but she remained tense, in a typical defensive posture.
Wen Yunqing carefully smoothed out her girlfriend’s tightly knitted brows. After her aura had fully permeated Wen Yimeng’s body, she boldly sent her consciousness directly into Wen Yimeng’s Sea of Consciousness.
It’s very dark. This was Wen Yunqing’s first impression, which immediately put her on guard. A normal person’s Sea of Consciousness wouldn’t look like this; this clearly indicated that it had been invaded by something malicious.
Strange. Are there monsters in this world that can invade the Sea of Consciousness?
Because she was worried about damaging her girlfriend’s Sea of Consciousness, Wen Yunqing didn’t use any spells. She relied on her instincts, approaching Wen Yimeng’s conscious mind, step by step.
“You should leave. You are no longer a member of the Wen family from now on. I will pretend I never raised you!” After walking for an unknown amount of time, Wen Yunqing saw this scene.
Mother Wen and Father Wen stood at the doorway, looking at Wen Yimeng, who was sitting on the ground, with disgust. Next to them stood Wen Han and Wen Yunqing herself.
“Yimeng,” Wen Yunqing rushed to Wen Yimeng without any hesitation and picked her up. “Remember, everything you see now is fake. I am the real one.”
“Huh?” Wen Yimeng opened her eyes in confusion. She looked at the Wen Yunqing holding her, then turned her head to look at the person standing on the side, laughing at her.
How could there be two Wen Yunqings here? This was impossible. There couldn’t be two people who looked exactly the same, unless…
Unless she was dreaming!
Wen Yimeng’s mind instantly cleared. Wen Yunqing’s appearance was like parting the fog in front of her eyes, and her Sea of Consciousness also began to brighten.
“If you didn’t love me, would I have ended up like that?” Wen Yimeng buried her head in Wen Yunqing’s chest.
As the Sea of Consciousness brightened, the figures of the original four members of the Wen family began to slowly fade and become illusory. They struggled to lunge forward, seemingly wanting to latch onto Wen Yimeng before they disappeared.
But unfortunately, before they could achieve their goal, they completely dissolved.
“Nonsense. There’s no ‘if’ now. I love you, and if I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t be me,” Wen Yunqing comforted her, allowing her girlfriend’s conscious mind to slowly relax.
After a moment’s hesitation, Wen Yunqing chose not to erase the memory but to let the entire experience exist as a dream.
The next morning, perhaps because she had a bad dream, Wen Yimeng didn’t wake up according to her biological clock. Instead, she slept in late for the first time in a while, until past ten o’clock, when the sun was already hanging high in the sky.
“Yunqing, what time is it?” Wen Yimeng groggily opened her eyes. The light sneaking in through the gap in the curtains seemed brighter than usual.
“Ten thirteen. If you feel uncomfortable, go back to sleep for a bit,” Wen Yunqing hadn’t gotten up either.
Wen Yimeng blinked. She didn’t feel uncomfortable anywhere. “I think, I think I had a really bad dream.”
“What did you dream about?” Wen Yunqing asked.
“Ah, I dreamed I turned into a bad person? And then you guys drove me out?” Wen Yimeng said somewhat uncertainly. “That’s strange. Why do I keep having nightmares lately, especially such nonsensical ones?”
“Lately? Did you have a nightmare before this?” Wen Yunqing immediately caught the key detail.
“No, not recently. It was just yesterday. I was a bit sleepy while watching TV and took a nap,” Wen Yimeng sat up in bed, exhaling a puff of stale air. “I had a not-so-good dream then too.”
“But dreams and reality are opposites, right? If I’m miserable in the dream, I should be having a great life in reality, right?” Wen Yimeng said with an easy expression, seemingly completely unaffected by the dream.
Wen Yunqing didn’t speak. She could tell that Wen Yimeng was affected by the dream and was deliberately pretending to be nonchalant.
Otherwise, Wen Yimeng would have already burrowed into her arms and accused her of bullying her in the dream.
“Yes, dreams are all fake,” Wen Yunqing did not expose her girlfriend’s disguise. Instead, she pounced like a hungry tiger, pinning her down. “You slept for so long. Are you feeling a little hungry?”
“Hmm?” Wen Yimeng raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean by ‘hungry’? The literal meaning, or the deeper one?”
“I should state first: neither of us has brushed our teeth!” Wen Yimeng’s attention was immediately drawn away, with more than half of it focused on the person pinning her down.
“Well, should we brush our teeth and then continue?” Wen Yunqing blinked innocently. Since Yimeng was uneasy, they should do something that would reassure her.
Wen Yimeng hesitated. Doing that immediately after waking up, does it make me seem too lustful? But she hadn’t been the one to propose it this time, right? If she played hard to get a little, there shouldn’t be any problem, right?
After a small internal struggle, Wen Yimeng chose to follow her heart. She was indeed affected by the dream and needed some beautiful reality to help her get rid of those bad feelings.
“Wait, I’m not ready yet, you… ugh…” Wen Yimeng had just finished brushing her teeth when she was blocked from speaking.
It was already November, and the late autumn weather made the bathroom tiles a bit cold. Taken by surprise, Wen Yimeng shivered.
“Sorry, I forgot it’s a bit cold here…” Wen Yunqing apologized softly, then quickly freed one hand and adjusted the temperature of the tiles. “That’s better…”
Fast forward to twelve o’clock. Wen Yimeng was completely submerged in the bathtub, certain private areas marked with ambiguous traces.
Wen Yunqing, wearing an apron, was busy in the kitchen, preparing lunch for the two of them with the available ingredients. She wasn’t afraid of the cold, so she was only wearing a simple black shirt, with the sleeves rolled up.
Wen Yunqing had only recently learned to cook. Her culinary skills were very ordinary, limited to frying an egg and making a simple noodle dish with egg and greens.
“Why did you come out without drying your hair?” Wen Yunqing carried the two bowls of freshly cooked noodles to the dining table, then touched Wen Yimeng’s semi-dry hair. “You’ll catch a cold like this.”
“It should be fine. I blew the roots dry, so I won’t catch a cold,” Wen Yimeng sat down, holding the bowl with both hands and taking a deep breath. “It smells good. Did you put salt in it this time?”
“Yes, I put in exactly two small spoonfuls, no more, no less,” Wen Yunqing pulled out the chair next to Wen Yimeng and sat down beside her. “Try it. It’s definitely better than last time.”
Wen Yimeng nodded, used her chopsticks to pick up a few strands of noodles, blew on them, and then slurped them into her mouth. “The saltiness is right, but it’s a bit bland.”
“Next time you want to eat it, I’ll prepare the soup base in advance,” Wen Yunqing took a bite of the fried egg in her bowl. “I specifically researched those teaching videos. If the soup base is good, the noodles will be much tastier.”
Wen Yimeng: “Then next week, next Saturday evening, I want to eat your handmade noodles!”
“Deal. We’ll go to the supermarket on Friday night to prepare the ingredients,” Wen Yunqing agreed.
