I Got A Girlfriend After Losing My Memory (Transmigration) - Chapter 34
The taste of alcohol permeated Tao Ran’s mouth.
The unfamiliar flavor was unpleasant, causing Tang Fuzhi to frown. She placed her hands on Tao Ran’s bare, pale arms, trying to break free from her grip.
But even in her drunken state, Tao Ran’s strength was overwhelming. Tang Fuzhi couldn’t escape.
In fact, Tao Ran’s inebriation made it even harder to struggle. Without the restraint of sobriety, her grip tightened, making escape impossible.
Desperate, Tang Fuzhi bit Tao Ran’s lip again.
In the past few days of kissing Tao Ran, this had become her only method of escape.
The metallic tang of blood spread between their lips once more. The pain didn’t stop Tao Ran; instead, the mingling of alcohol and blood seemed to fuel her passion, making her kisses even more fierce and relentless.
Tang Fuzhi had deliberately chosen a shirt dress that perfectly matched Tao Ran’s style for their meeting today. Now, in Tao Ran’s hands, the top two buttons of the dress were undone.
The woman’s grip was surprisingly strong. In mere moments, Tang Fuzhi’s dress was half-undone, revealing the snow-white peaks of her breasts, barely concealed by her white bra.
Tao Ran finally released Tang Fuzhi’s lips, moving her mouth down to her neck. Forced to tilt her head back, Tang Fuzhi clung tightly to Tao Ran, her beautiful amber eyes glistening with tears. A trace of blood from where she had bitten Tao Ran earlier lingered at the corner of her mouth, a striking contrast against her pale, flushed cheeks.
Tang Fuzhi whimpered, her voice trembling with fear of the unknown. “Tao… Tao Ran…”
But the drunken Tao Ran had no intention of stopping. Beneath her lips lay the girl’s delicate skin, her feverish cheek pressed against that cool, pale expanse. It felt so good. Her hands moved with practiced ease, undoing the buttons Tang Fuzhi had carefully fastened yesterday, leaving her exposed and vulnerable.
The shirt dress pooled around Tang Fuzhi’s waist, its white straps slipping off her shoulders. Tao Ran’s lips left crimson marks on the girl’s collarbone, but she remained unsatisfied, wanting more.
The woman’s teeth were sharp, and Tang Fuzhi’s soft voice broke into pitiful fragments. The vast living room was empty, the late-night silence broken only by Tao Ran’s heavy breathing.
Tao Ran’s grip tightened around Tang Fuzhi’s slender waist, forcing her against Tao Ran’s body. Perhaps due to the alcohol, Tao Ran’s skin burned hot. Where their bodies touched, Tang Fuzhi felt as if she were melting, as if she were pressed against a volcano.
Tang Fuzhi’s eyelashes trembled, dewdrops clinging precariously to their tips. Instinctively, she shoved Tao Ran away with all her strength.
Caught completely off guard, Tao Ran stumbled backward and collapsed onto the sofa.
Tang Fuzhi endured the pain as she hastily dressed, then approached Tao Ran to check on her condition.
Strands of sweat-dampened hair clung to Tao Ran’s flushed cheeks. The old wound at the corner of her lips, still unhealed, had been reopened. Her peach blossom eyes, usually slightly upturned with a hint of a smile, were now closed, lending her face a sharp, cold edge. Her shirt had vanished, leaving only the white bra identical to Tang Fuzhi’s.
Tang Fuzhi felt a suffocating pressure in her chest, an unbearable weight.
How could she just fall asleep?!
After doing this to me, how could she just drift off like that?!
After treating me like this, how could she simply fall asleep so easily?!
Despite the resentment churning in her heart, Tang Fuzhi couldn’t help but swallow it down when she saw the dark bruises under Tao Ran’s eyes.
She pressed her lips together, then pinched Tao Ran’s cheek fiercely until faint red marks appeared on the delicate skin before finally releasing her grip.
Afterward, Tang Fuzhi gave Tao Ran a quick wipe-down. The earlier clothes were too foul-smelling, so she found a loose nightgown in the closet and slipped it over her before helping her to the bedroom and tucking her under the covers.
With Tao Ran settled, Tang Fuzhi went to the bathroom and stripped off the shirt dress again. Gazing at her reflection in the mirror, she saw faint red marks on her delicate collarbones, while her waist was covered in a shocking patchwork of purple and blue bruises from Tao Ran’s drunken frenzy.
Tao Ran’s sharp teeth had pressed against her soft skin, and in her drunken state, she hadn’t bothered to control her strength, accidentally leaving the tender flesh swollen and reddened.
Looking at herself like this, Tang Fuzhi suddenly regretted letting Tao Ran off so easily earlier.
She should experience what it’s like to be bitten!
After helping Tao Ran clean up and enduring her behavior, Tang Fuzhi was covered in the foul smell of alcohol. The effort of wiping Tao Ran down had also left her slightly sweaty, so she naturally needed a shower.
As she dressed after her shower, Tang Fuzhi accidentally brushed against the wound on her chest and hissed in pain.
She carefully put on her nightgown and stepped out of the bathroom.
After a long day of physical examinations, rushing to catch a flight, and then caring for Tao Ran in H City, Tang Fuzhi was exhausted. After a quick wash, she wanted nothing more than to collapse onto the bed, but the pain in her chest forced her to settle for lying down instead.
The bed was huge, soft, and incredibly comfortable.
Tang Fuzhi lay back, closing her eyes, ready to enjoy the night. Suddenly, her eyes snapped open, and her right hand began groping around the bed.
Empty!
Panic surged through her. She whipped her head around to look at the other half of the bed.
Tao Ran was gone?!
Startled, Tang Fuzhi immediately sat up and hurried over to check if Tao Ran had fallen off the bed, but there was no sign of her.
Tang Fuzhi’s heart pounded faster with each step across the living room. In those few seconds, her mind raced through countless possibilities.
What could happen to a drunk person who wandered outside alone?
Even though it was late and the streets were mostly deserted, who could guarantee there weren’t any bad people lurking?
And given Tao Ran’s drunken state, what if she collapsed in some dark corner and never woke up?
As Tang Fuzhi reached the living room, she spotted a figure slumped against the window. She hurried over and silently exhaled in relief.
She crouched beside Tao Ran and followed her gaze to the starry sky. The night was exceptionally dark, making the crescent moon appear even brighter, its solitary glow accentuated by the absence of stars.
Tang Fuzhi turned back and asked, “Aren’t you going to sleep?”
Tao Ran pressed a finger to her lips and whispered, “Shh, I’m waiting.”
“Waiting for what?” Tang Fuzhi asked, puzzled.
But Tao Ran remained silent, her eyes fixed on the starry expanse.
Just as Tang Fuzhi’s legs began to ache from crouching, Tao Ran finally spoke again, her voice frail as a wisp of smoke, as if it might be carried away by the slightest breeze. “Waiting for dawn.”
Perhaps it was because Tao Ran now seemed so calm that Tang Fuzhi’s initial anger and anxiety suddenly dissipated.
She couldn’t help but ask, “Why wait until dawn? Don’t you sleep at night?”
Throughout their acquaintance, Tang Fuzhi had always seen Tao Ran as a strong, successful young woman.
She was capable at work, came from a wealthy family, and was beautiful.
The only unfortunate thing was that her girlfriend had been in a car accident and lost her memory.
This was the first time Tang Fuzhi had seen Tao Ran so vulnerable, sitting alone by the window gazing at the moon, her expression cold and distant, like a flower blooming on a high mountain peak, keeping everyone at arm’s length.
Tao Ran’s gaze drifted, and she murmured, “I don’t want to sleep.”
“Why not?”
After what felt like an eternity, just when Tang Fuzhi thought Tao Ran wouldn’t answer, she finally spoke again. “I’ll have nightmares.”
The reason made Tang Fuzhi want to laugh and cry at the same time. She never imagined that someone as formidable as Tao Ran could be afraid of nightmares like a child.
Tang Fuzhi turned to look at Tao Ran, intending to tease her, but when her eyes met Tao Ran’s empty, vacant gaze, the words caught in her throat and were swallowed back down.
Seeing Tao Ran like this, Tang Fuzhi suddenly realized that her fear of nightmares might not be about ghosts and monsters, but about real events that had actually happened.
“What kind of nightmare?”
Tao Ran turned her head to look at Tang Fuzhi. In that instant, her eyelashes fluttered slightly, and she pulled Tang Fuzhi into a tight embrace, her whole body trembling. Her voice trembled as she whispered, “Tang Tang, you’re finally awake. I missed you so much.”
Is she… confused? Tang Fuzhi wondered. Has she slipped back into the memories of when she was still in the hospital bed?
Tang Fuzhi returned the embrace, patting Tao Ran’s back gently. “Yes, I’m awake,” she murmured. “I’m right here with you now.”
Just as Tang Fuzhi was trying to figure out how to coax Tao Ran back to bed, she realized Tao Ran had already fallen asleep.
Asleep, Tao Ran was remarkably still. Her long, curled lashes cast a soft shadow over her cheek, and the corners of her mouth, no longer held in a tight line, gave her an unexpectedly docile appearance.
Tang Fuzhi sighed softly and quietly carried Tao Ran back to the bedroom.
Exhausted from the day, Tang Fuzhi fell asleep quickly. Perhaps because Tao Ran was beside her, she slept soundly that night.
Though He Ruo had given Tao Ran hangover medicine, she still woke up with a slight headache.
This wasn’t just from the hangover; it was also the cumulative effect of her irregular sleep schedule over the past few days.
Tao Ran didn’t mind; she was used to it.
As she was about to get out of bed, she noticed she was wearing a different nightgown. And if she wasn’t mistaken, she was completely naked underneath.
Tao Ran froze.
He Ruo would never have changed her clothes and left her so exposed.
Suddenly, a pair of warm hands wrapped around her waist. The familiar warmth, the familiar scent of white tea… Tao Ran relaxed and turned around. As expected, it was Tang Fuzhi.
Memories of last night flooded back. Tao Ran touched her lips, as if the faint milky fragrance still lingered there. She pursed her lips. “What are you doing here?”
Tang Fuzhi nuzzled her cheek against Tao Ran’s lower back, her voice muffled. “I missed you.”
The newly awakened girl’s voice was sweet and soft, and her pouting made her even more irresistible.
Tao Ran’s lips curved into an involuntary smile. Her heart felt as if it were stuffed with cotton candy, soft and fluffy. She snapped out of her daze and pulled Tang Fuzhi into her arms. The headache that had been bothering her vanished instantly.
But clearly, the girl was one to hold a grudge.
One moment she was saying she missed Tao Ran, and the next she was pushing her away.
Tao Ran’s brows curved into a smile as she glanced at the young woman, wondering what was wrong this time.
Tang Fuzhi pouted, crossing her arms in front of her chest to show her displeasure. A sharp pain shot through her arms, and she awkwardly lowered them.
“I missed you so much, I even rushed all the way from T City to H City, only to find you out playing with other girls.”
Hmph, she hadn’t forgotten the unfamiliar perfume scent clinging to Tao Ran’s clothes last night.
