I Got A Girlfriend After Losing My Memory (Transmigration) - Chapter 19
Throughout the morning, they rode many attractions and drank plenty of… Smashed Lemonade.
What could they do? It was just so delicious, far better than plain water!
Tang Fuzhi had fallen hopelessly in love with the sweet-and-sour, icy-cold flavor from her very first sip.
If Tao Ran hadn’t stopped her, she wouldn’t have stopped at just two cups.
But drinking too much lemonade came with a predictable problem.
Tang Fuzhi, having just finished riding the bumper cars, hurried to the restroom.
Tao Ran waited outside, holding her things.
After taking care of her needs, Tang Fuzhi hummed happily as she washed her hands.
“Tang Fuzhi?”
The girl beside her exclaimed in surprise.
Tang Fuzhi glanced at the girl in the mirror. With her short, neat hair and a hint of boldness in her eyes, she wore a sleeveless crop top and cargo pants, exuding a cool, tomboyish vibe.
Turning to face her, Tang Fuzhi was about to ask who she was when Guo Qingyu spoke first.
“What are you doing at the amusement park? Are you here with Tao Ran?”
Hearing Tao Ran’s name, Tang Fuzhi’s shoulders relaxed slightly, her guard dropping a fraction.
If she knows Tao Ran, she must be an old friend, Tang Fuzhi thought.
She nodded. “She’s waiting by the entrance. Do you need to see her?”
Tang Fuzhi had nothing to say to Guo Qingyu. Suffering from amnesia, she didn’t recognize her at all.
Guo Qingyu shook her head. Her relationship with Tao Ran wasn’t particularly close. She recalled how Tang Fuzhi had been humming cheerfully just moments ago, but her smile vanished when she saw Guo Qingyu. Yet, when Tao Ran’s name was mentioned, her body visibly relaxed.
A bad feeling crept into Guo Qingyu’s heart. “Are you and Tao Ran… together?”
Tang Fuzhi was puzzled by Guo Qingyu’s question.
She and Tao Ran had been together for nearly four years. How could this person look so surprised, as if she were just finding out?
But considering they weren’t close, and Tang Fuzhi didn’t want to broadcast her amnesia unless necessary, she suppressed her confusion and replied, “Yes, we are.”
Guo Qingyu’s eyes dimmed, a hint of disappointment in her expression.
Tang Fuzhi found herself growing curious about Guo Qingyu. Her reaction was so strange. What kind of relationship had they shared before?
She decided to ask Tao Ran about it later.
As they finished washing their hands, they walked out together. Tao Ran had been waiting for Tang Fuzhi outside the door. Her eyes lit up when she saw Tang Fuzhi emerge, completely oblivious to the familiar figure trailing behind her.
“I heard there’s a restaurant nearby with amazing crab. Want to try it?”
Knowing Tang Fuzhi had been eating bland food for a week, that her checkup had gone well, and having confirmed with Zheng Xiaoxiao that an occasional crab meal wouldn’t be a problem, Tao Ran suggested it.
Even though Tang Fuzhi couldn’t remember the taste, her body reacted instinctively. She swallowed hard.
Hearing about crabs, Tang Fuzhi swallowed hard. “Really?!”
Her mind completely consumed by the thought of crabs, Tang Fuzhi completely forgot about Guo Qingyu standing behind her.
Guo Qingyu watched the two women, their intimacy so complete it was as if they were alone in their own world, oblivious to anyone else.
The girl she had admired in her youth had ultimately fallen for Tao Ran, who had the advantage of proximity.
Tao Ran finally noticed Guo Qingyu standing behind Tang Fuzhi. Her lips straightened instantly, her expression turning cool with a hint of barely perceptible tension.
She gripped Tang Fuzhi’s hand tightly and pulled her back a few steps, adopting a protective stance as she guarded against Guo Qingyu.
Tang Fuzhi sensed Tao Ran’s unease.
Could this person not be our friend?
But that doesn’t make sense.
Tang Fuzhi recalled Guo Qingyu’s friendly demeanor earlier. It didn’t seem like they were enemies at all.
Before she could sort out her thoughts, Tao Ran spoke first. “What are you doing here?”
Guo Qingyu glanced at Tang Fuzhi. Though she had pursued Tang Fuzhi in college, that was when Tang Fuzhi was single.
Now that she knew Tang Fuzhi and Tao Ran were together, she suppressed any lingering feelings, at least for the moment.
Guo Qingyu looked at Tao Ran, her smile strained. “Don’t worry,” she said. “Now that Tang Fuzhi is with you, I won’t bother you anymore. It was just a coincidence we ran into each other.”
She had her principles, after all.
It seemed she didn’t know about Tang Fuzhi’s amnesia.
Tao Ran let out a sigh of relief, but remained vigilant. She had never truly feared Guo Qingyu’s persistence.
From Guo Qingyu’s words, Tao Ran could confirm that she knew about her relationship with Tang Fuzhi.
Tao Ran wrapped her arm around Tang Fuzhi’s shoulder, a possessive gesture, and her smile returned, though her eyes held a subtle warning.
“Sorry, it’s Tang Tang and my date today, so I can’t invite you to dinner. Let’s catch up another time.”
Her words were polite, but her tone and actions radiated possessiveness.
Guo Qingyu’s smile turned slightly bitter. “Sure, let’s catch up another time.”
This was just polite talk, and neither of them took it seriously.
With that, Guo Qingyu left.
Having confirmed Guo Qingyu’s departure, Tao Ran finally relaxed her tightly wound nerves.
Tang Fuzhi glanced at Tao Ran, noticing the shift in her expression. She found Tao Ran’s earlier behavior rather peculiar.
Like a fierce lioness fiercely protecting her cubs, Tao Ran had bared her claws and teeth, trying to scare away any perceived threat with a ferocious exterior.
“Tao Ran, who was she?”
Tao Ran’s newly relaxed heart tensed again. “An old admirer.”
One lie requires countless others to sustain it.
Tao Ran understood this principle well, so she avoided lying whenever possible, as long as it didn’t break the logic of the situation.
Tang Fuzhi immediately understood why Tao Ran had acted so strangely earlier.
She shot Tao Ran a teasing look, her eyes sparkling with amusement, and leaned closer. “Were you afraid I’d be stolen away?”
Expecting Tao Ran to deny it, Tang Fuzhi was surprised when she nodded, pulled her into a tight embrace, and took a deep breath. “Yes, I was afraid.”
This caught Tang Fuzhi off guard. She awkwardly returned the hug. “Afraid of what? I’m right here with you.”
In that moment, Tao Ran looked vulnerable, even… a little pitiful.
But Tang Fuzhi shamelessly admitted to herself that this side of Tao Ran filled her with a sense of satisfaction.
The feeling of being so deeply cherished.
She loved it.
Yet, while she enjoyed the feeling, she wasn’t the type to torment others.
At the right moment, it was important to reassure her anxious girlfriend.
Tang Fuzhi stroked Tao Ran’s long hair, a hint of amusement in her eyes. “Don’t worry, she’s not my type.”
This was the first time Tao Ran had heard Tang Fuzhi talk about her preferences, specifically in terms of choosing a partner.
“What kind of girl do you like?” Tao Ran asked, a little nervous.
The moment the words left her lips, she was already prepared to change herself, no matter what Tang Fuzhi’s answer might be.
Tang Fuzhi paused, caught off guard by the question. She hadn’t really thought about it before.
“I’m not entirely sure, but I don’t like short hair. I prefer long hair.”
It wasn’t that short hair was bad, just a matter of personal taste. Some people liked long hair, while others preferred short.
Tao Ran breathed a sigh of relief. Her hair was currently long enough to reach her ribs, which should count as long.
She secretly clenched her fist, resolving never to cut her hair again.
Remembering Tao Ran’s long, shapely legs, Tang Fuzhi swallowed hard. “I like girls with long legs.”
Tao Ran nodded silently. She already knew this. Tang Fuzhi had always admired her legs, which was why she often wore short skirts and shorts around her.
“As for looks, I’m drawn to bright, vibrant types.”
“They have to be kind to me, but not too spineless.”
Tang Fuzhi hadn’t initially planned to say much, but as she spoke, she found herself rambling on and on.
Snapping out of her reverie, she noticed Tao Ran’s gaze was different. Those beautiful peach blossom eyes tilted upward slightly, their dark pupils deep and luminous.
Tang Fuzhi mentally replayed everything she’d just said. It seemed every word perfectly aligned with Tao Ran.
