- Chapter 7 - Honey, My Arm Needs a Massage!
The rich scent of brandy drifted in through the door gap, filling the spacious room in an instant. The crisp, mellow aroma of alcohol spread rapidly, crowding every corner, dancing and surging within the room until it finally transformed into countless tentacles that tightly coiled around Jiang Xu’s thoughts, occupying his senses.
The fragrance had captured him.
Jiang Xu struggled against the pheromones, but as a low-rank Omega, he was simply no match for a top-tier Alpha. He was completely suppressed by Xu Zhiyan’s pheromones, leaving him without any power to fight back. Once again, Xu Zhiyan had proven with his strength that all of Jiang Xu’s little tricks were nothing but an appetizer before a top-tier Alpha.
Jiang Xu clenched his fingers and roared through gritted teeth, “Xu Zhiyan, put away your pheromones!”
“Xuxu, open the door!”
It was the same sentence as before, word for word, yet the tone was completely different. It had shifted from the previous humble plea to a commanding order.
That jerk! Jiang Xu bit his molars together. “Other than using pheromones to suppress people, what else can you even do?”
A soft chuckle sounded, mixed with the tipsy, intoxicating scent of brandy. Jiang Xu shook his head vigorously, secretly battling the Alpha’s pheromones. However, he had underestimated the capabilities of a top-tier Alpha. The seductive pheromones were both overbearing and captivating, forcefully latching onto his thoughts while gently coaxing him whenever he resisted.
Half-cajoling and half-coercing, the man manipulated Jiang Xu’s emotions perfectly, smoothing them out before completely capturing him. Jiang Xu did not even know how he had walked to the door. By the time he realized the situation was out of control, he had already opened the bedroom door.
Xu Zhiyan stood in the hallway. His tall, upright posture blocked out the darkness, his face illuminated by the dim light remaining in the bedroom. The interplay of light and shadow projected from the neon signs in the distance lit up his eyebrows and eyes, revealing a deep, seductive temptation within his peach-blossom eyes.
Jiang Xu felt his throat go dry. He had inhaled too much of the rich brandy scent, and it was rampaging through his brain. He retreated in a panic.
Danger! His brain issued a sharp siren.
But it was instantly suppressed by the man’s cool, crisp voice: “Xuxu, come here!”
Jiang Xu felt as though he had been split in two. One half was pulled by reason, while the other was controlled by pheromones. After a fierce clash, his reason defected, willingly captured. He walked toward the man in front of him, obediently extending his hands and actively throwing himself into the man’s embrace.
A satisfied smile appeared on Xu Zhiyan’s infuriatingly handsome face. That smile was like all the flowers in a rose garden blooming at once; the exquisite beauty impacted Jiang Xu’s vision. He lost his senses all at once. He could not remember how he had been carried to the bed. When he finally regained his focus, Xu Zhiyan was already lying beside him.
The scent of brandy in the air had died down, leaving only a faint, elegant fragrance. Jiang Xu suddenly came to his senses. He glared at the arch-rival beside him who had succeeded in his scheme, “Is that how pheromones are meant to be used?”
“Pheromones are unique to each person and are considered my personal property. How I use them is up to me. Of course, in certain situations, one must make the best use of everything.”
Xu Zhiyan’s matter-of-fact tone successfully pushed Jiang Xu’s anger to its peak. “So you are a top-tier Alpha, big deal! If you have the guts, do not use your pheromones, and let us have a real fight.”
“Xuxu, do not make trouble. Let us go to sleep!”
Xu Zhiyan leaned over and pressed a lingering, gentle kiss on Jiang Xu’s forehead. Jiang Xu’s brain instantly crashed. He opened his eyes wide, and in his noisy, cluttered mind, only one phrase remained, echoing with unusual clarity.
“Xuxu, do not make trouble.”
Do not make trouble.
Hmm.
I will be good; I will not make trouble anymore!
He obediently lay on the pillow and closed his eyes. The orange-yellow lights went out; the bedside lamp was pressed by long, slender fingers. That hand moved over to pull the quilt up, carefully and meticulously tucking Jiang Xu in.
The corners of Xu Zhiyan’s lips curled up into a gentle arc. He released soothing pheromones, the unique scent flowing slowly, permeating every corner of the bedroom. It cunningly and nimbly burrowed into the bottom of Jiang Xu’s heart, leaving a soft trace and quietly taking hold.
The next morning, all was quiet.
Glimmers of light squeezed in through the gap in the curtains, soaking the room in the unique freshness of dawn. Jiang Xu opened his eyes. The furnishings around him struck his gaze, leaving him stunned for a few seconds.
His memory slowly returned. He thought of the accident at the filming set, his amnesia, the grand entrance of his arch-rival-turned-husband, and the series of tragic and intense conflicts that had followed.
Intense conflicts!
Jiang Xu sprang up from the bed and lifted the quilt to check himself thoroughly. His pajamas were intact, with only a few normal creases. He exhaled in relief.
Thank goodness! Last night, that jerk Xu Zhiyan only used seductive pheromones to make him open the bedroom door on his own; he had not taken advantage of the situation to do anything despicable. He actually acted like a human being for once.
Jiang Xu got out of bed, and at that moment, a message notification chimed on his phone. He picked it up and, seeing the overly affectionate label of “My Dear,” he first despised himself. How could he use such a clingy and sappy nickname for his arch-rival? It must have been forced upon him by Xu Zhiyan; he had to change this contact name as soon as possible.
What should he change it to?
The Jerk? Or maybe Disgusting Jerk?
Just as Jiang Xu was hesitating between these two options, another message from Xu Zhiyan popped up.
【Xuxu, you slept on my arm until it went numb last night. Honey, I need a massage for my arm.】
The emoticons that followed were too vivid, stimulating Jiang Xu’s nerves and causing him to throw his phone away in a panic.
“Jerk!”
Jiang Xu cursed with a red face and turned to rush into the bathroom. After washing up, Jiang Xu went downstairs to find something to eat. Just as he exited the elevator, he caught sight of the man sitting upright on the sofa.
Dressed in white casual wear, the man looked cold, refined, and elegant. His fair, slender fingers held a blue-and-white porcelain teacup. When he turned back to look at him, the gentleness in his gaze overwhelmed everything else in the surroundings.
Jiang Xu felt the world go quiet. Looking at this beautiful man, no matter how many times he saw him, he could not help but sigh: My father is truly a lucky man!
