I Am Being Raised by a Cat - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Cheng Yue emerged from the bathroom.
His hair, freshly washed and blown dry, appeared even more frizzy, especially when he saw the cat on the bed, every strand of hair seemed ready to stand on end.
“Ah Shang?”
Cheng Yue’s eyes widened, and he took a few quick steps to the bedside.
The leopard cat gave a “meow-woo” and flicked its tail.
Cheng Yue was both surprised and delighted. He only knew that Cheng Shang’s original form had atavistically evolved into a leopard; he didn’t know he could transform back into a leopard cat.
The moment he saw the soft little cat, the youth forgot everything. He scooped the kitten up, stroking its fur, rubbing its ears, and squeezing its paws. It wasn’t until the kitten leaned in and extended its tongue to lick the youth’s fingertip that he realized belatedly.
This cat was Cheng Shang!
The youth’s body stiffened. He put the cat down and coughed twice, putting on a serious expression. “Don’t do that, Cheng Shang.”
The leopard cat gave another “meow” and tilted its head, looking at the youth.
It was as if Cheng Yue had been shot through the heart; his entire being instantly softened.
He had always been helpless against Ah Shang.
After all, this was the cat he had personally rescued and raised for three whole years.
He was different from Cheng Shang.
The tall, cold man made him feel like a stranger.
But Ah Shang was someone he was as familiar with as could be. He was always soft-hearted, especially toward Ah Shang; he could only back down again and again.
With one coquettish cry from Ah Shang, the youth lost all power of resistance.
His voice grew much weaker. “Isn’t there a small rug on the floor? How about you sleep on the floor?”
The leopard cat moved closer, its tail hooking around the youth’s wrist, and its body even leaned in for a rub.
A finishing blow!
The youth choked on his words, unable to say anything more.
Lights out, get in bed, go to sleep!
All in one smooth motion!
Cheng Yue lay there stiffly, exerting all his self-restraint just to keep from pulling the cat into his arms.
A leopard cat’s fur is softer and smoother than a regular cat’s. When it lightly brushed against the back of his hand, it felt like an electric shock running through his body.
The little person inside Cheng Yue’s heart was screaming!
Ahhh, I want to pick the cat up so badly, bury my face in his belly and take a deep huff.
But he couldn’t.
His last shred of logic told Cheng Yue that this wasn’t just Ah Shang; it was Cheng Shang—the man whose every gesture was filled with an oppressive aura.
Clinging to these conflicted thoughts, the youth tossed and turned in bed until, eventually, he actually drifted off into a daze.
Beside him, the cat changed positions several times, eventually exposing its soft belly directly, waiting for the youth to come and “huff” it.
In the end, while waiting, he heard the sound of the youth’s steady, light snoring beside him.
He fell asleep?!
Cheng Shang was momentarily stunned, which was a rare occurrence.
According to the youth’s usual habits, he would always hold the cat before sleeping—kissing, hugging, and cuddling. He wouldn’t sleep without at least half an hour of petting.
Cheng Shang’s heart gradually sank.
Had he lost interest in him so quickly?
Humans were always like this loving the new and loathing the old.
The leopard cat secretly gnashed its teeth, crawled into the blanket, and pressed close to the youth’s side.
The pajamas Cheng Yue wore were still Cheng Shang’s from before. Although they were brand new, the size was too large, hanging loosely on the youth’s body.
The leopard cat’s small head nudged upward. First, he used his wet nose to touch the youth’s collarbone. Unable to resist, he extended his tongue to lick it, then followed the path all the way down until the entire cat head was tucked inside the neckline.
New Humans had excellent night vision, but this special ability was clearly somewhat ill-timed at this moment.
The leopard cat swallowed very visibly.
He saw very clearly that the youth’s skin was a dazzlingly pure white, with two spots of dark red vividly attracting his attention.
Like red agates on white shells.
The leopard cat buried his entire head over them, his tongue curling, sucking and licking the red agates.
The barbs on a small cat’s tongue were clearly much lighter than those on a leopard’s, but it couldn’t withstand the cat’s extreme greed. He licked incessantly until, when he finally released his mouth reluctantly, the little red beans had nearly become large cherries.
The leopard cat felt a bit guilty. He touched them with his nose, withdrew his head, and then found a comfortable position to lie down in the youth’s arms, his tail wrapping around the youth’s wrist with extreme possessiveness.
…
When Cheng Yue woke up the next day, the cat was no longer on the bed.
The custom-made clothes hadn’t been delivered yet, so the youth had to continue wearing the man’s clothes. While changing, the fabric rubbed against his chest, causing a bit of stinging pain.
What’s wrong? Could there be a bug?
Cheng Yue hesitated, lifting his shirt to look down, when the bedroom door was suddenly pushed open.
The youth’s eyes widened as he looked at the man standing in the doorway, hurriedly pulling his clothes back down. “What… what are you doing?”
Cheng Shang turned his head slightly and gave a low cough. “Sorry, I saw the door was ajar, so I came straight in.”
Though he said this, the scene from just now kept playing in his mind. The small section of the waistline exposed when the youth lifted his shirt was dazzlingly white.
Cheng Yue bit his lip. “What is it?”
“I wanted to call you for breakfast,” Cheng Shang said in a low voice. “Your stomach isn’t good; you shouldn’t skip breakfast. Even if you’re too tired, you should eat before sleeping again.”
Cheng Yue was stunned. “You even know about that?”
The man gave a slightly helpless smile. “It’s not like I didn’t see you taking medicine.”
But Cheng Yue’s habits were very poor; he frequently skipped breakfast. To raise his cat, he had opted to be a commuter student. Every day, he basically washed up in a hurry after waking up and headed out, without even a sip of water.
He remembered a time when the youth had rolled around on the bed because of stomach pain. That was when Cheng Shang most wished he were a human.
He wanted to carry him to the hospital; he wanted to coax him so he wouldn’t cry.
The youth clearly hadn’t thought that far; he was just desperately trying to remember if he had done anything else embarrassing in front of Ah Shang.
He didn’t expect this cat to remember everything!!!
Watching the expressions shift on Cheng Yue’s face, the man raised an eyebrow, guessed what he was thinking, and spoke in a slow, deliberate tone, “I don’t know too much—only that you like to hum songs while showering in the bathroom, you like to squint your eyes and swing your calves when eating something delicious, oh, and you like to scroll through men with abs on social media…”
When he reached the last sentence, the man’s expression darkened visibly.
Anxious, Cheng Yue rushed forward to cover his mouth. “What… What nonsense are you talking about! It was just occasional! I just happened to scroll past them occasionally!!”
The male lead caught his hand, pressing the soft palm and stroking it lightly, his voice unreadable in its mood. “Is that so? Then you don’t like men with abs?”
“I…” The youth paused, then gave a cold snort. “Why should I tell you? It’s none of your business whether I like them or not!”
He pulled his hand back forcefully, but heard the man let out a muffled groan.
“What’s wrong? Don’t try to frame me!”
Cheng Shang frowned, pressing his hand over his chest. He let out a “hiss” of pain. “It’s where my old injury was; it seems to be recurring.”
The man indeed looked to be in some pain, and it didn’t seem fake.
Cheng Yue was startled by this appearance and spoke hurriedly, “Really? How could it recur?”
“Maybe because of the animal form transformation last night. It’s fine; a few days of rest will fix it.”
Cheng Yue couldn’t help but bite his lip.
After all, it was the cat he had raised; it would be a lie to say he wasn’t worried.
He hesitated for a moment and asked softly, “Can I see it?”
