I Am Being Raised by a Cat - Chapter 17
Chapter 17
A tightness gripped his waist; the man had pinched him.
“Don’t move around,” the man’s voice was slightly hoarse.
Cheng Yue was a bit displeased. “Why are you being so mean? You’re the one who insisted on holding me.”
The man gritted his teeth, the veins on his forehead bulging; he was clearly exerting extreme self-control.
On the giant screen, a female ghost let out a heart-wrenching scream, but clearly, neither of them was focused on the movie.
The man’s body was scorching hot, obviously tense to the absolute limit, yet he still used a raspy voice to coax him: “I’m not being mean to you. I’m sorry, baby.”
Asking him to apologize to anyone else was like asking for his life, yet the apology rolled off his tongue smoothly when it came to Cheng Yue.
Yet the youth still looked unhappy. “If you don’t want to hold me, then let me go.”
How could he let him go?
The man pulled him even tighter, wishing he could melt the boy directly into his own bones and blood.
Fortunately, Cheng Yue only complained for a few sentences before his attention was quickly drawn back to the plot, and he stopped obsessing over the thing beneath his bottom.
Pity this demi-beast; his entire body, including his head, was burning. His fragrant, soft treasure was sitting right in his lap, yet he could do absolutely nothing. His tail was still in the boy’s hands, and whenever the youth reached a scary part, he would squeeze tight, plucking out several hairs in the process.
By the time the movie ended, Cheng Yue had become quite excited. Usually, he watched movies alone since A-Shang couldn’t speak; now, he finally had someone to discuss the plot with.
“That part just now was it the brother who killed those people?”
The youth turned his head back, his eyes looking at Cheng Shang with bright curiosity.
The man’s throat hitched, his body growing even more feverish.
“Mm.” He stared at Cheng Yue’s pale, tender earlobe, desperately wanting to lick it regardless of the consequences. “It’s quite white.”
“What are you talking about?” Cheng Yue was dazed. “I’m talking about the female ghost’s brother, the masked one.”
As the youth spoke to him, his soft lips moved up and down. He wanted to bite them.
“Right.” The man swallowed hard. “It’s red.”
“…”
Cheng Yue, annoyed, grabbed the man’s tail and swung it in front of him. “You’ve stared yourself stupid.”
True enough.
The man suddenly bowed his head, burying it in the crook of the youth’s neck, taking a deep breath.
Cheng Yue: “???”
He’s really huffing me like a cat.
“Can I lock you up?” The man’s voice sounded very sincere. He caught the youth’s wrist and brought it to his lips to kiss it. “Lock you to the bed, okay?”
“…”
Thank you for asking my opinion.
After this whole day, Cheng Yue was somewhat numb. “What’s the difference between how you are now and locking me up?”
“It’s different, baby.”
The man’s tone was somewhat urgent.
His tail slipped out from the youth’s hand and, eager to try, snuck up under the wide hem of the boy’s shirt. This time, because the youth was being held so tightly, he had no chance to stop the tail.
The tail met no resistance all the way up until it touched the place the man had pinched today. The youth was delicate; that spot was still red and erect even now.
A leopard’s fur is much coarser and stiffer than a cat’s.
The repeated grazing made the youth’s body tremble; his eyelashes fluttered wildly, and his eyes turned red as if he were about to cry at any moment.
It was different.
The man felt his heart, connected to his tail, thumping violently.
He wanted to put a chain through this place and lock him to the headboard. Then, with a gentle tug, he would see the youth sobbing and weeping.
Unable to run, unable to hide.
“Cheng Shang.” The youth called the man’s name with a nasal tone, longing for the man to clear his head, desperately begging for mercy. “Stop bullying me.”
He was truly foolish.
He didn’t realize that the more he acted like this the more pitiful he looked the more the man wanted to chew him up bit by bit and swallow him into his stomach.
But he couldn’t.
Cheng Shang leaned in, unable to resist wanting to kiss away the tears on the youth’s eyelashes, but the boy dodged. “No licking me!”
He still viewed the man as a cat.
Cheng Shang fell silent for a moment, then stood up while holding the youth and walked upstairs.
“What are you doing!!”
The man whispered, “Going to sleep.”
At first, Cheng Yue stared at the man warily, terrified he would have another “outburst of animalistic nature” and pin him down to lick him.
But fortunately, he didn’t. The man tucked him into the covers, even smoothing the blanket out perfectly, and patted him gently as if coaxing him to sleep.
Cheng Yue felt like he was being treated like a child.
But within minutes, he couldn’t resist the drowsiness and sank into a deep sleep.
…
When he woke up the next morning, he was the only one left in bed.
Cheng Yue was worried about the man’s illness. Fearing he was burning up again and had locked himself in his room, he hurriedly threw off the covers and got out of bed to find him.
As soon as he left the room, he bumped into the man walking toward him.
Cheng Shang frowned, scooping him up with one arm. “Why aren’t you wearing shoes?”
Cheng Yue blinked, looked behind the man, then grabbed the man’s collar and stared into his eyes.
The youth used too much force; Cheng Shang’s collar was gripped so tight he could hardly breathe.
“Is the Master going to kill me?”
Cheng Yue was startled and quickly let go. “You… you’re better?”
The man coughed twice, speaking with some helplessness, “I was almost strangled to death by you.”
“I’m sorry.” Cheng Yue whispered, “I thought you were still sick.”
Sick?
Yes, he was sick.
But now, it seemed he had found the cure.
The man lowered his head, pressing his forehead against Cheng Yue’s, his voice low: “Baby, thank you for staying by my side. Did I scare you?”
The youth pursed his lips.
Knowing Cheng Shang was conscious, he felt a bit unaccustomed to such intimacy. He reached out and pushed against the man’s chest. “Put me down first.”
The man’s body stiffened for a moment, then he carried the boy into the bedroom. After placing him on the small sofa, he knelt down on one knee to put his shoes on for him.
“Cheng Shang.” The youth spoke in a very serious tone. “Have you seen a doctor yet?”
“See what doctor? An animal doctor?”
The man was still joking with him at a time like this.
Cheng Yue was so angry he kicked upward; his shoe flew off, landing a kick right on the man’s chest. “How can you be so careless with your body?”
The man looked down, staring at that small section of exposed ankle startlingly white.
He had just regained his sanity, and he was still unstable, but clearly, the youth didn’t know this and was still recklessly provoking him.
“I know. I won’t do it again.”
Cheng Shang raised his hand, gripping the youth’s ankle and stroking it finely. His voice was pressed very low: “I will live well. My life belongs to you.”
The man had used guns for years and had callouses on his hands. Cheng Yue’s skin was naturally sensitive; being rubbed like this repeatedly, that small patch of skin on his ankle quickly turned red.
“Who wants your life?”
Cheng Yue spoke crossly, “Did you hear me tell you to see a doctor?”
Clearly, he didn’t hear.
The man looked intently at the small, red-rubbed patch of skin on Cheng Yue’s ankle, thinking with no small amount of regret:
Truly delicate.
He’s like this just from having his ankle touched; if I were to help him touch there… there’s no telling how hard he’d cry.
