Husband, Let Your Husband Treat Your Illness - Chapter 13
Chapter 13
When Ye Mo woke up in the morning, he felt a burning pain in that indescribable area. Even though they had done plenty of prep beforehand and Dongfang Jin had been exceptionally gentle, who knew it would still hurt this much? Lying in bed, Ye Mo cursed Dongfang Jin in his head several times over. Whether it was a coincidence or a true psychic connection, Dongfang Jin sneezed several times in the kitchen. He walked into the bedroom and said to Ye Mo, “Mo, were you just scolding me? Why did I suddenly start sneezing?”
Ye Mo immediately felt guilty. “No, how could I? If I wanted to scold you, would I need to hide it? Why wouldn’t I just do it to your face?” Clearly a poor liar, Ye Mo’s guilt was instant, and his face turned beet red in a flash.
“You still say no? Then why is your face so red?”
“I’m hot! Can’t I be hot? Who told you that a red face always means a guilty conscience?” Ye Mo continued his stubborn resistance.
“Oh? Hot? Then should your ‘husband’ help you blow off some steam?” As he spoke, Dongfang Jin moved to press in closer. Sensing trouble, Ye Mo quickly blurted out, “Dongfang Jin, you animal! Wasn’t last night enough?” Ye Mo truly regretted it; he wondered what ghost had possessed his mind last night to make him agree so confusedly. Now look at what happened this guy was addicted.
“Mo, I’m a man. Having good stamina is perfectly normal. You should understand,” Dongfang Jin whispered right against Ye Mo’s ear.
“Understand my foot! I’m nothing like you, with a head full of ‘yellow’ trash (erotica)!” Ye Mo thought to himself: It was so many times last night, and he still thinks it’s not enough. What is this man made of?
“Mo! Come on!”
“Get lost!” Ye Mo sniffed the air and sensed something was wrong. “Dongfang Jin, quick, smell that. What is that scent?” He sniffed carefully and realized a burnt smell was pervading the air. “Oh no, my sweet and sour ribs!” Dongfang Jin vanished toward the kitchen like a puff of smoke, rushing to salvage the pot. “Dongfang Jin, what on earth goes through your head all day?” Though Ye Mo grumbled, seeing the man in such a frantic rush was actually quite endearing to him.
During the meal, the two of them stared at the plate of charred ribs. Dongfang Jin said, “Mo, it’s all your fault. If it weren’t for you, how could these ribs have burned?” Dongfang Jin drizzled some of the dark sauce onto his rice and spoke with a wronged expression.
“Dongfang Jin, are you kidding me? You’re the one who started it! If you hadn’t neglected the pot, would this have happened?” The two bickered incessantly, but their expressions made it clear they were happy. “Mo, let’s go to the hospital for a follow-up, okay? I’ve already made an appointment with a doctor today.”
“Fine, I’ll listen to you.” Surprisingly, Ye Mo agreed, which caught Dongfang Jin off guard. “Great, then eat quickly. We’ll head out right after.”
After lunch, they got into the car and drove toward the Ye family hospital. Currently, Dongfang Jin was only holding a nominal position; taking care of Ye Mo was his top priority. The hospital staff couldn’t say much, though it was a bit hard on the other doctors who had to take over Dongfang Jin’s original patients. “Doctor Zhu, how is Mo’s body doing?” Dongfang Jin asked with more concern than if he were the one injured.
“The wrist is recovering well. I think we can take off the cast. However, the leg needs a bit more time, about another month. Your ‘brother’ has quite the recovery speed.” This Doctor Zhu knew the Dongfang family was a medical dynasty with many children, so he naturally assumed the person Dongfang Jin was so attentive to was his younger brother.
“Doctor Zhu, this is my partner.”
This sentence sent the doctor, who was writing, into a state of shock; his pen stroke swerved wildly. “Oh, oh… sister-in-law? Or brother-in-law?” Doctor Zhu would surely regret saying that. He had no idea the “sister-in-law” in question was a member of the Ye family.
Dongfang Jin stifled a laugh nearby, not wanting to spoil the joke, only to see Ye Mo’s face turn green. “Doctor? I can understand ‘brother-in-law,’ but what do you mean by ‘sister-in-law’?” Ye Mo practically ground these words out through his teeth, radiating an ominous aura.
“Nothing, nothing at all. You two can go pick up the medicine now.” Seeing the situation, the doctor knew there would be no peace if he kept talking. Dongfang Jin immediately soothed Ye Mo’s temper and led him out. Doctor Zhu let out a sigh of relief. What a terrifying patient. He looked closer at the name on the chart: “Ye Mo? Surname Ye, given name with the ‘water’ radical? I remember the General Manager of this hospital is Ye Huan… wait! My god, he’s from the Ye family?” Doctor Zhu felt incredibly lucky he hadn’t said anything else stupid, or his good days at the hospital would be over.
Even after they had walked quite a distance, Dongfang Jin was still stifling his laughter. Ye Mo wore an expression like his period had just arrived. “What the hell are you laughing at! Laugh one more time and you’re sleeping in the study tonight!” Dongfang Jin instantly shut his mouth. “It’s all your fault! Why did you have to say ‘partner’ out of nowhere? It was so awkward!” It seemed Ye Mo was genuinely irritated. “What’s there to be awkward about? I wasn’t wrong. You are my partner now, and you will be my partner in the future for every lifetime to come.”
“Don’t speak too soon! There are still over two weeks left! Who knows if we’ll break up!” The car suddenly came to a screeching halt. “Dongfang Jin! Are you crazy? Can you drive? If you can’t, get the hell out!” Dongfang Jin didn’t argue. He pulled the handbrake and turned around, speaking slowly, “Mo, I don’t want to hear the words ‘break up’ ever again.” His face was like an Arctic iceberg.
“What? Didn’t you say one month? The month isn’t over yet, so I have the right to break up.” Just as the words left his mouth, Dongfang Jin got out of the car and moved to the back seat where Ye Mo was sitting. Before Ye Mo could lock the door, Dongfang Jin had already pressed inside. “Mo, since that’s the case, we might as well further solidify our status as a ‘couple’.” The back seat was cramped, and the two were frozen in a very strange position.
“Dongfang Jin, get off me!”
“What? Scared?”
“Pah!” Right after saying that, Dongfang Jin moved to pull down Ye Mo’s trousers while stripping himself bare. The entire back seat began to creak and sway. Sometimes Dongfang Jin was on top, sometimes Ye Mo, but the only sound to be heard was Ye Mo’s moans.
While they were lost in their passion, oblivious to the world outside, an unlucky traffic cop came by and tapped on the window. “You can’t park here.” And just like that, the two of them “gloriously” ended up at the police station.
At the station, Ye Mo sat on the wooden bench, fuming, his temper written all over his face. Dongfang Jin, on the other hand, was being very polite and apologetic to the officers, explaining their series of actions. “While I have no prejudices, you two should show a little restraint, young men,” the officer said gently. “It’s not safe on the main road. Go pay the fine, and be careful next time. Don’t overexert yourselves.”
At those words, Dongfang Jin’s face flushed. Ye Mo, sitting to the side, was already so red he looked ready to explode, his eyes staring so hard at Dongfang Jin’s back that they could have burned holes through him.
After paying the fine, Ye Mo kept a dark face the entire way to the car. Dongfang Jin was silent too, obediently getting in. Neither spoke on the way home. Ye Mo was furious, having never been so humiliated in his life. Dongfang Jin felt the shame too, but his biggest worry was Ye Mo’s anger. If Ye Mo weren’t angry, he might have tried to negotiate for leniency, but now it was impossible. Ye Mo was a dormant volcano ready to erupt, and sure enough, disaster soon struck Dongfang Jin.
Once they reached the door, Ye Mo ignored him and went straight into his room, slamming the door. “Mo! I was wrong, I’ll never do it again!” “You brainless idiot with a head full of filth! Do you even look at the setting?” Ye Mo’s fury was palpable even through the door. “Is a car the place for that? And ending up at the police station! You’re really something, Dongfang Jin!”
“Mo, I truly know I was wrong. Please forgive me.” Dongfang Jin’s pitiful pleading finally earned a shred of mercy. Ye Mo opened the door. “I choose to forgive you, but! Tonight! No! More!” Ye Mo truly wondered where this man got so much energy.
“I can’t do that, Mo. I can promise you anything else, but I can’t promise that.”
Ye Mo was instantly ignited again. “You ‘yellow’ trash!” He moved to slam the door, but Dongfang Jin foolishly tried to block it with his hand and got it caught hard in the door. “Ah!” A piercing cry of pain rang out, and Dongfang Jin crouched down, clutching his hand. Seeing this, Ye Mo immediately ran to his side and crouched down, asking with concern, “Dongfang Jin! Are you okay? Why are you so stupid? Why would you use your hand to block it? Didn’t you know I was angry? You’re going to be the death of me. There’s medicine in the house; I’ll go get some for you.”
As Ye Mo rose to get the medicine, Dongfang Jin grabbed his hand and pulled him tightly into his embrace, placing a soft kiss on Ye Mo’s forehead. “Mo, I’m sorry. I won’t do it again. Forgive me, okay?” “I already said I forgave you. How is your hand?” Caught by Dongfang Jin’s sudden tender invasion, Ye Mo forgot what he had been angry about. “My hand is just a bit swollen, it’s nothing major. I was wrong, I truly know I was wrong.”
“Dongfang Jin, it’s not that I don’t want to do it, but you have to pay attention to the place and the time.”
“I know. There will absolutely not be a next time.” Dongfang Jin used his swollen fingers to stroke Ye Mo’s hair, his kisses growing deeper and more emotional. “Mo, don’t talk to me about breaking up. I’m so scared. It was so hard to find someone I truly love; I really don’t want to lose you so soon. Mo, if possible, I really want to spend a lifetime with you.”
Ye Mo listened in silence, but a warm current surged through his heart. “Dongfang Jin, then you better hold on to me tight.” As soon as he finished, Ye Mo wrapped his arms around Dongfang Jin’s neck. For the first time, Ye Mo initiated a deep kiss on Dongfang Jin’s face. Dongfang Jin returned the kiss fully. The two of them snuggled together on the floor. At that moment, “quiet and beautiful years” felt exactly like this.
