How to Handle a Sickly Yandere Demon God - Chapter 2
Xu Xingxing’s biological father was wealthy. He found a mistress and divorced her mother. To heal her broken heart, her mother went abroad, and Xu Xingxing was left in the care of her grandfather in the countryside.
Her grandfather ran a dog breeding farm and was relatively well-off, but he often dragged Xu Xingxing to her father’s place to feign poverty.
Xu Xingxing didn’t understand and asked her grandfather why they had to go when they had enough to eat and drink, especially since she didn’t want to see her father.
Her grandfather spat and said, “Are you stupid? With all that money, if he doesn’t give it to you, he’ll give it to that mistress’s kid. You might as well get some of it to buy Uncle Hei a gold chain, better that than leaving it for that wretched woman!”
Uncle Hei was a guard dog, an all-black Chinese rural dog, and Xu Xingxing adored him.
“Alright!” Xu Xingxing perked up, stroking Uncle Hei as she said, “Uncle Hei, just wait, I’ll get Dog Dad’s money to buy you a gold chain!”
“Uncle Hei” was what her grandfather told her to call him, saying the dog was like a son to him, so by seniority, she should call him uncle.
“Dog Dad” was her own invention. Her grandfather tapped her head with his tobacco pipe and scolded, “Hey, you little rascal!”
From then on, whenever she had free time, she would go to her father to ask for money, and the amounts were never small. Her father grew so annoyed that he started avoiding her. But she didn’t let him off easily, she directly hung a banner at the entrance of his company.
And so, Xu Xingxing kept at it until she graduated from university, managing to secure two apartments in the city center through her persistence.
Being shameless, adaptable, fighting when challenged, and running when outmatched, only to try again another day, these were the skills her grandfather taught her for extracting money, and they became her life motto.
She was never one to let others bully or humiliate her, even if that person was her own father.
Xu Yi was taken aback the first time he heard such defiant words from Xu Xingxing. In that moment of his stunned silence, Xu Xingxing had already formed a hand seal and seized the chance to teleport outside the courtyard.
Dog Dad had reached the Refinement Void stage, a direct confrontation would surely put her at a disadvantage. With disciples frequently moving around the courtyard walls, if a real fight broke out, he would have to hold back to avoid collateral damage.
She grabbed a young disciple who stood frozen beside her and urged, “Quick, go find Uncle Gu Nuo! Tell him my father is trying to kill me! Hurry!” With that, she flung him over the wall.
She couldn’t run. Xu Yi was now one of the strongest cultivators in Kunlun, and even if she escaped temporarily, she couldn’t hide forever. If this matter wasn’t resolved today, she wouldn’t be able to carry out her missions openly in the future!
Since the conversation had already broken down, there was no need to keep pretending. Xu Xingxing cut straight to the point, shouting toward the house, “Father, my Dao heart is unstable. I failed to break through to the Deification Realm and barely escaped with my life. From now on, I wish to live for myself. I hope you will grant me this!”
A low chuckle came from inside the room.
Xu Yi stepped out and sighed, “Xing’er, you must have damaged your mind during your Qi deviation. Otherwise, why would you spout such nonsense in broad daylight?”
You’re the one with a damaged mind! You’re the one talking nonsense!
“Father, you’re mistaken. During my Qi deviation, I was more clear-headed than I’ve been in over twenty years of living. What I’m saying now is the most sincere I’ve ever been. I ask you to consider my feelings and grant me freedom.”
“Consider your feelings? Grant you freedom?” Xu Yi laughed as if he had heard a joke. “Am I speaking to a three-year-old child?”
Xu Xingxing believed she had been very polite, even letting slide his earlier insults (not that she could do much about them anyway). But Xu Yi’s obvious “what nonsense are you spouting” attitude made her increasingly irritated.
She wanted to fight for herself one more time, but found she couldn’t speak again.
Xu Yi had once again silenced her!
“Your words are truly disgusting. Better not to speak at all.” Xu Yi looked at her as if she were a pile of garbage. “It seems you’ve forgotten all the teachings I’ve given you.”
With a casual wave of his hand, Xu Xingxing immediately felt her hands and feet bound, unable to move. Then, with another slight lift of his hand, she was suspended in midair, not too high, not too low, just enough for all the disciples in the outer courtyard to see.
In Xu Xing’er’s memories, this was not a common form of punishment. Only once before had she been suspended like this, and that time, she had hung there for a full five days. Afterward, she trained even more relentlessly and became increasingly withdrawn.
This kind of punishment wasn’t physically painful, it was more like being made to stand in front of a classroom. Its main purpose was to crush the offender’s self-esteem, forcing them to recognize their mistakes and correct them.
This method worked well on those with thin skin, like Xu Xing’er, but it was utterly ineffective against seasoned offenders like Xu Xingxing, who had grown accustomed to such disciplinary measures in her school days.
She had already reached the stage of fasting from grains, so hanging like this for five days wouldn’t be unbearable, but it was a colossal waste of time.
Watching Xu Yi about to enter his room, Xu Xingxing grew increasingly agitated. She tried to break free and suddenly realized she could move her hands and feet again!
As it turned out, this kind of spell wasn’t particularly complex, someone at the Golden Core stage could easily break it. The reason Xu Xing’er had never resisted before was that she had never once thought to defy her father.
Without hesitation, Xu Xingxing broke free, condensed ice into a blade, and launched it straight at Xu Yi!
He would definitely dodge it, she was only trying to make him turn around!
Sure enough, the moment the ice blade approached Xu Yi, it reversed direction and shot back toward her.
At the same time, Xu Yi turned to look at her. Xu Xingxing sidestepped, caught the ice blade, transformed it into water, and tossed it into the air.
Xu Yi’s movements suddenly paused. His deep, pool-like eyes finally showed a flicker of emotion as he frowned and looked up at the characters formed by the water vapor in the air. Several bold words floated clearly in the sky:
Do you know why I suffered a deviation in my cultivation?
The silencing spell had indeed been lifted. Without waiting for Xu Yi to ask, she spoke directly:
“It’s because of you, Father.”
Xu Xingxing didn’t pause. “I heard everything you said at the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion.”
Xu Yi’s figure visibly stiffened.
“You said you never wanted me. If it weren’t for me, Mother would still be here.” Xu Xingxing watched his expression closely, enunciating each word deliberately. “So, I want to ask, since that’s the case, why don’t we sever our father-daughter ties here and now? Wouldn’t that be for the best?”
She was serious. Having a sect leader or a wealthy father might have its uses, but compared to the troubles they brought, those advantages weren’t worth keeping.
Her survival instinct from her previous life had taught her: when your wings are strong enough, fly away; when you have enough money, cut ties and leave.
A flicker of surprise crossed Xu Yi’s icy gaze, likely unable to believe that a well-behaved child like Xu Xing’er could utter such heartless words.
But Xu Xing’er would never have said such a thing, because she was already dead.
Xu Xingxing didn’t know what a child who saw her father as her motivation for cultivation must have felt, hearing such words right before entering seclusion.
She must have struggled, denied it, but twenty years of memories told her that her father truly didn’t love her.
And so, her Dao heart could no longer hold on, and she watched helplessly as she stepped into the abyss.
Xu Xingxing met his gaze without flinching. “For over twenty years, I’ve lived entirely for you, Father. I never dared contradict you, always followed your commands to the letter, and never slackened in my cultivation. You said Mother died because of me, and I believed it. I thought you at least held some fatherly affection for me, but I never imagined you despised me to this extent! Now that I’ve already died once, let the past be dust. Whatever I do from now on has nothing to do with you. I beg Sect Leader Xu to grant me this!”
Xu Yi’s face darkened, his voice low and stern. “What nonsense! Over one single sentence, you bear such resentment toward me? Over one sentence, you’d abandon all your previous efforts and cease cultivation? What do you mean, ‘let the past be dust’? With such immature judgment, how can you ever achieve anything great!”
This was exactly why she hated these belittling parents! It was clearly his fault, yet he still called her immature?
“Yes, this one sentence is enough! To you, it’s just words, but to me, it’s an arrow through the heart! Moreover, I have no desire to achieve anything great. For the past twenty years, my only wish was to earn a single word of praise from you. Clearly, even if I reached the Great Perfection stage, you wouldn’t grant me that. So now I no longer care. I only ask that you let me leave!”
Xu Yi’s eyes turned icy, the air around him beginning to tremble. “You don’t want to? After twenty years of cultivation, after all the effort Kunlun has invested in you, you think you can just give up?”
“If I don’t want to, no one can force me, not even you, Sect Leader Xu!”
“How could the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion have predicted you as the savior? Someone as useless as you isn’t worth your mother sacrificing her life to bring you into this world!”
“I never begged you to give birth to me! You chose to have me, yet you demand my gratitude and absolute obedience. Are you raising a child or a slave?”
Did he expect her to be eternally grateful just for giving her life? Her fathers in both lifetimes should become sworn brothers!
“Ungrateful child!”
A palm strike from Xu Yi sent Xu Xingxing flying. Her body slammed against the courtyard wall before crashing heavily to the ground. “You’re unworthy of being a daughter! How did I never see before that you were so heartless!”
Wiping the blood from the corner of her mouth, Xu Xingxing looked up at the enraged Xu Yi and said slowly, “I’m not speaking against Mother. I respect her. It’s you I look down on, too weak to protect your own wife.”
She always knew where to strike where it hurt most. When it came to hitting sore spots, she was an expert.
Sure enough, Xu Yi’s expression turned utterly grim, the spiritual energy around him boiling like water.
But she had no intention of stopping. She wanted to dig deeper, to make it hurt more, so he would sever ties with her completely. Only then would she feel she had done something for the girl who died alone in seclusion.
“You say Mother died because of me? Isn’t that wrong?”
Xu Xingxing laughed bitterly, her hands trembling uncontrollably. “You never wanted me in the first place, didn’t that present an opportunity to save Mother? If you had truly refused to have me, Mother would have lived. But you chose to bring me into this world. Wasn’t that a choice you made yourself? All because the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion said I would be the savior? Ha! You believed in such a vague prophecy? So tell me, how could Mother have died because of me? Wasn’t it you who pushed her toward her death?”
“You killed her.”
