How Could a Scumbag Alpha Possibly Love His Wife? - Chapter 35
As soon as Bai Juntang said this, Cheng Wan, who had just finished eating, couldn’t help but let out a small burp.
Pheromone exchange??
Suddenly, Cheng Wan remembered that she and Bai Juntang hadn’t exchanged pheromones this week. The thought of the two of them getting close again, of kissing, made her panic, and she quickly drank a glass of water to calm herself.
Bai Juntang didn’t know what was going on today, but she found herself particularly eager to be close to Cheng Wan. She wanted to see her flushed eyes, her red nose, and the way Cheng Wan couldn’t look at her because she was shy.
It all made her feel captivated.
Now, Bai Juntang felt a little regretful. If she had known Cheng Wan would be so much to her liking, she shouldn’t have drunk so much that night in the hotel. If she hadn’t, maybe she wouldn’t have woken up with everything blurred in her memory.
Cheng Wan finished her large glass of water and placed the cup back on the dining table.
Bai Juntang, on the other hand, remained calm. She watched Cheng Wan’s flustered reaction and slowly said, “Are you ready? Should we do it here, or would you prefer the living room or bedroom?”
“I… I’ll just clean up the dishes first,” Cheng Wan quickly stood up with a ‘whoosh,’ holding the dishes as if she were running away, and darted into the kitchen.
As soon as Cheng Wan placed the dishes into the sink, she heard Bai Juntang approaching. When she turned around, she was immediately greeted by the familiar scent of pheromones. The soft, plant-like fragrance made Cheng Wan’s heart skip a beat.
Bai Juntang leaned in from behind Cheng Wan, her hands wrapping around Cheng Wan’s waist as she turned off the tap.
“Miss Bai… mmm…”
Before Cheng Wan could even speak, Bai Juntang kissed her lips.
One of Bai Juntang’s hands rested on Cheng Wan’s waist while the other cupped her chin, gently tilting her head back to deepen the kiss.
The familiar scent made Cheng Wan shiver involuntarily. Every pore in her body seemed to open, desperately absorbing the pheromones from the person behind her, filling her entire being.
The sensation on her tongue was both tingling and numb, and even her waist felt a little weak.
Especially where Bai Juntang’s palm touched, it felt as though it were burning with heat.
Before Cheng Wan knew what was happening, she found herself being turned around by Bai Juntang, who bent down and lifted her up onto the nearby kitchen cabinet.
Cheng Wan was startled, her eyes widening as she found herself sitting on the cabinet, locking eyes with Bai Juntang.
Sitting on the cabinet, Cheng Wan was slightly taller than Bai Juntang. She looked down at her, her cheeks flushed, her lips reddened from the kiss, and glistening with a dewy shine.
“Miss Bai…”
Cheng Wan was a little shy and dared not look into Bai Juntang’s eyes. She softly held onto her shoulder and whispered, “I… we can’t… at least not yet…”
Seeing how red Cheng Wan’s face was growing, Bai Juntang couldn’t help but lean in and gently peck her lips, teasing her with a soft and intimate tone: “What is there that we can’t do?”
Bai Juntang’s hand slid down to Cheng Wan’s slightly rounded belly, and she murmured, “We’ve already done everything.”
With those words, Bai Juntang kissed her once more.
Cheng Wan’s body felt completely weak as she was enveloped by Bai Juntang’s pheromones. It felt as if she were a small boat drifting on the waves, almost losing all rational thought.
Bai Juntang’s hand gently caressed Cheng Wan’s swollen belly. Though Cheng Wan’s nightgown was short, it didn’t stop Bai Juntang from touching her.
As Bai Juntang’s hand traced the soft skin of Cheng Wan’s stomach, the thought that she was carrying her child made her pheromones become even more intense.
Cheng Wan was hers.
Cheng Wan would always be hers in this lifetime.
This overwhelming awareness had surfaced more than once. Bai Juntang held Cheng Wan close, kissing her with great passion, taking away her breath. Her hand moved from Cheng Wan’s soft belly to the back of her neck.
Her glands were aching.
Cheng Wan felt helpless as she was kissed, her body reacting to the gentle squeeze of Bai Juntang’s hand on her glands, yet she couldn’t stop her.
Because Cheng Wan had already belonged to her. Bai Juntang was her alpha, and she couldn’t resist.
All she could do was accept it—no matter how Bai Juntang treated her, she had to accept it.
This was the absolute dominance of an alpha over their Omega, and the pheromone pressure an Omega couldn’t fight against.
Fortunately, Bai Juntang still had a sliver of control.
Although her instincts pushed her to tear off Cheng Wan’s nightgown and mark her fiercely on the neck, Bai Juntang’s rationality held her back.
She watched as Cheng Wan fainted in her arms, her breathing shallow from lack of air, and Bai Juntang realized that her overwhelming desire was starting to take full control.
Bai Juntang carefully lifted Cheng Wan off the cabinet and laid her on her own bed.
Cheng Wan’s disheveled nightgown revealed her fair neck and collarbones, and the light from the bedside lamp made them look so tempting. Bai Juntang couldn’t help but stare, wanting to leave a mark on that beautiful skin.
The air in the room was thick with pheromones, and Bai Juntang felt parched. She had held back for so long.
Bai Juntang reached out to touch Cheng Wan’s delicate neck, finally unable to control herself. She gently bit the pale skin on Cheng Wan’s chest, leaving a faint, shallow mark.
Cheng Wan furrowed her brows in her sleep, her unease palpable even in her unconscious state.
Bai Juntang’s dark eyes were fixed on her, and she felt a sharp pain in her head.
“Cheng Wan,” Bai Juntang whispered, pressing her forehead against Cheng Wan’s. Her voice was hoarse as she murmured, “You troublemaker…”
Cheng Wan, still unaware, slept peacefully, her steady breathing indicating that she had fallen into a deep slumber.
When Cheng Wan woke up, she felt incredibly relaxed, her body and mind soothed by the pheromones. Even after waking, she could still smell the faint scent of fir wood pheromones lingering in the room.
The strong fragrance made her heart race faster.
She lay there for a long time, immersed in the scent, before sitting up. When she realized she couldn’t find her phone, the memories of the night before came rushing back.
Yes, she had been held up on the cabinet by Bai Juntang and kissed senseless.
Cheng Wan, already embarrassed by her delicate nature, turned a deep shade of red. She scratched her head, quietly leaving her room in search of her phone.
But as soon as she opened the door, she saw Aunt Pei and Bai Juntang standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, talking. When they heard the door open, they both turned to look at her.
Aunt Pei smiled and said, “Wanwan, you’re awake! Even on weekends, you shouldn’t sleep in like this. It’s almost ten o’clock.”
Cheng Wan blinked in surprise. “It’s already ten o’clock?”
“Almost,” Bai Juntang answered, glancing at Cheng Wan thoughtfully. “Did you sleep well last night?”
Cheng Wan’s face immediately turned bright red. She nervously scratched her head, embarrassed. “Uh… yeah, it was okay. By the way, have you seen my phone?”
“Here you go.” Aunt Pei picked up the phone from the coffee table and handed it to Cheng Wan. “You young people don’t even take your phones to bed. I saw it on the dining table when I came over today, so I brought it to you.”
Cheng Wan took the phone, glanced at the message, and saw that Xu He had sent her a text.
[When you have time, bring Bai Juntang home for a meal.]
These few simple words left Cheng Wan confused. As she pondered what Xu He meant by this, Aunt Pei suddenly exclaimed.
“Wanwan, this dress looks a little small on you.” Aunt Pei looked at Cheng Wan’s belly and said, “This is the time when the baby is growing. In a couple of months, it will probably get bigger. Don’t you think it’s a good idea to buy some new clothes while you can still move around easily?”
Buy clothes?
Cheng Wan asked, puzzled, “Do I really need to buy clothes?”
“Of course!” Aunt Pei smiled. “Apart from clothes, there are other things to prepare as well. Since it’s the weekend, why don’t you two go out and buy some new clothes?”
Cheng Wan turned to look at Bai Juntang, only to find that Bai Juntang was also looking at her. As their eyes met, Bai Juntang seemed to snap back to reality and turned her gaze toward Cheng Wan.
“Shall we go buy some clothes?” Cheng Wan asked Bai Juntang. “When my belly gets bigger, I won’t be able to wear many of my clothes, right?”
“Is that so?” Bai Juntang walked over and looked at Cheng Wan’s small bump, softly saying, “It seems like we should indeed get some new clothes. A lot of your clothes won’t fit soon.”
Seeing Cheng Wan with her little belly, Bai Juntang felt a warm sensation in her heart. Without thinking, she took Cheng Wan’s hand in hers, releasing a faint trace of pheromones to soothe her. “Let’s rest for a bit. This afternoon, we can go out and see if we can find any clothes you like.”
Cheng Wan felt the comforting pheromones and, with a slight blush, nodded in agreement.
At lunch, Aunt Pei surprisingly made spicy diced chicken, something she’d only agreed to do with Bai Juntang’s permission. Cheng Wan hadn’t had spicy food in a long time. While she hadn’t craved it much before, recently, she’d been especially eager for something spicy.
After a satisfying meal, Cheng Wan contentedly ate a small slice of watermelon and pineapple, her round belly poking out as she played with sunflower seeds.
Cheng Wan hadn’t forgotten about Xu He’s message, but she didn’t know how to respond. She had been living here for over a month now, and not once had she received a call from the Cheng family. Yet today, they finally sent a message, asking her to bring Bai Juntang home for a meal.
With her wits intact, Cheng Wan knew that this had to be some kind of trap. There was no telling what kind of scheme Cheng Jiajian and Xu He were planning to involve Bai Juntang in. She wasn’t keen on agreeing to it.
At first, Cheng Wan had some prejudices against Bai Juntang. However, after spending so much time together, she realized that Bai Juntang was a very gentle person.
She cared about how much Cheng Wan ate at each meal, and during their walks, she always made sure Cheng Wan was on the inside of the sidewalk, protecting her.
Every time Cheng Wan had a check-up, Bai Juntang would accompany her, no matter how busy she was. Even when they went shopping, Bai Juntang made sure to protect her every step of the way.
Cheng Wan had never experienced warmth like this. Bai Juntang was the only one who treated her this well, and that made her unwilling to deceive her in any way.
No matter the reason, Cheng Wan didn’t want to see Bai Juntang get hurt.
Around 2 p.m., Bai Juntang took Cheng Wan out to a nearby shopping mall. The plan was to shop for clothes that Cheng Wan could wear during her pregnancy.
While sitting in the car, Cheng Wan opened her phone to look up what size clothes she should buy. She wanted to purchase some larger sizes so that she wouldn’t need to worry about clothes for a while. It would be more convenient, and if the clothes were stylish, she could wear them even after the baby was born.
Cheng Wan didn’t realize that she was already thinking about life after giving birth. She marked a few stores that looked reliable, and when they arrived at the mall, they headed inside to shop.
Although they were shopping for Cheng Wan, Bai Juntang was tall and slender, so it didn’t take long for the store attendants to notice her. They immediately surrounded her, suggesting that she try on a few outfits.
Cheng Wan didn’t mind being left alone. She spotted a white long T-shirt with a brown cartoon bear printed on it.
The T-shirt was almost knee-length, and it had a loose, oversized fit. It looked like it could be worn for a long time.
“Do you like it?” Bai Juntang asked, having managed to slip away from the attendants. She looked at the bear T-shirt in Cheng Wan’s hands and said, “Go ahead and try it on in the fitting room.”
