How Can Two Scummy Alphas Fall in Love - Chapter 2
Chapter 2
After speaking, Qin Qiao and Han Fufu exchanged a glance.
Their eyes seemed to be saying: Nice acting.
Xu Ran’s face changed color. She stammered, saying she didn’t believe it.
“Isn’t the Movie Queen… isn’t she claiming publicly that she doesn’t have a lover?” Xu Ran turned, seeking an answer from Qin Qiao. “CEO Qin, you… you…”
At a time like this, Qin Qiao would usually remain silent. As the Movie Queen, Han Fufu took the stage to display her superb acting skills.
She blocked the young celebrity’s path, walked up to her, and looked down, slowly revealing a less-than-friendly smile. “You are called Xu… never mind, I can’t remember names. I hope the relationship between Qiao Qiao and me is known only to heaven, earth, and us two. Don’t tell a fourth person once you leave this room, okay?”
The utterly unwilling Xu Ran stared directly at Han Fufu. She didn’t want to give up on Qin Qiao just like that. Her face was ashen. “You are both Alphas. How is that possible?”
“I just prefer Alphas, and my Qiao Qiao also finds Alphas exciting. It’s none of your business.”
Han Fufu smiled like a cunning fox, her eyes filled with a dangerous air.
In terms of presence, Xu Ran couldn’t compare to Han Fufu. She shrank her neck, her face full of reluctance, but staying here would only embarrass her further.
“I… I’ll leave first.” Xu Ran hurriedly walked past Han Fufu, intending to escape.
Before leaving, she reluctantly glanced at Qin Qiao, only to find that Qin Qiao’s eyes were fixed affectionately on Han Fufu.
The door opened and closed. Xu Ran was finally gone.
Han Fufu sighed with relief, sinking onto the sofa, feigning fear, and patting her chest to steady her breath.
“You scared me to death. She was glaring at me just now.”
“Was she?” Qin Qiao sat down, casually opened a display bottle of red wine, and poured a glass for Han Fufu. “This is your compensation.”
“A single bottle of wine for compensation?” Han Fufu pouted, her words indicating disdain for Qin Qiao’s “compensation,” but she still reached for the glass and drank it in one gulp.
Qin Qiao slightly raised her eyes, smiling faintly. “Why are you pouting? Should I kiss you as compensation?”
As the wine slid down her throat, Han Fufu’s heart trembled. She looked at the woman sitting across from her with a smile and felt momentarily flustered.
Qin Qiao had made such jokes before, and Han Fufu had always laughed it off.
But today, Han Fufu had an unusual urge to agree to Qin Qiao’s joke.
To reply with “Yes.”
Was it the alcohol?
Han Fufu suppressed the strange feeling, pretending to be unperturbed. “That little star is gone, stop acting. Your kiss isn’t worth much to me, darling.”
“Seriously, a kiss between us is no big deal.” Qin Qiao lightly touched the glass with her lips, her red lips gliding across the rim. Her eyes tightly fixed on Han Fufu, trying to detect a different expression on her face.
Han Fufu calmly lowered her eyes, poured herself another glass of wine, and then raised the glass. “Cheers.”
“Cheers.” Qin Qiao put away her meaningful scrutiny, returning to her usual coldness.
In the process of drinking, Han Fufu consumed a lot of wine. She also had to drink when socializing for her family, but she disliked it.
However, as long as Qin Qiao was with her, it was Han Fufu’s comfort zone. She could do whatever she wanted without restraint.
Qin Qiao saw Han Fufu drinking glass after glass. With quick eyes and hands, she pressed down on the hand about to lift the glass again. “Don’t drink so fast.”
“Qiao Qiao, I feel very relaxed when I’m with you. Just let me drink.” Han Fufu pushed Qin Qiao’s hand away.
As the Han family heiress and a popular Movie Queen, she was exhausted every day. Especially when she had to film and manage the family business, she was truly stretched thin.
The more tired she was, the worse she slept at night.
When she didn’t sleep well, she would dream.
She would dream of her ex-girlfriend, of that romance that started but never finished.
“You…” Qin Qiao had dominated the business world for many years and had long developed keen observational skills. She could see that Han Fufu was tipsy, and her look seemed to suggest she was reminiscing about someone. “Why are you thinking about someone else when you’re with me?”
Han Fufu, about to drink, paused. She felt Qin Qiao’s statement was incredibly ambiguous, as if Qin Qiao liked her and was jealous.
Seriously, what am I thinking?
Han Fufu truly suspected she was drunk to think of Qin Qiao in this way.
“Then who do you think I’m thinking about?” Han Fufu rested her chin on her hand, squinting at Qin Qiao.
Qin Qiao pointed at Han Fufu. “Instead of thinking about your first love, why not think about me? At least I can buy you wine.”
Han Fufu remained silent.
It had to be said that Qin Qiao’s way of speaking sometimes created a very ambiguous atmosphere. Han Fufu even felt that Qin Qiao’s manner of conversation was quite similar to her first love’s.
The sense of relaxation she felt with Qin Qiao, besides their years of close friendship, might also be because…
Qin Qiao occasionally gave Han Fufu a feeling that reminded her of her first love.
They were clearly not the same person, but they were uncannily similar in some aspects. Especially the way they talked—too alike.
“If you talk like that, what will I do if I fall in love with you?” Han Fufu, emboldened by the alcohol, became reckless with her words.
When Qin Qiao heard this, the hand resting on the table subtly trembled.
“I just remembered I have some work and need to go to the company.” Qin Qiao smoothed the wrinkles on her clothes and stood up. “You can go rest in the room upstairs. I already reserved one for you. Get some good rest.”
“Mhm…” Han Fufu’s eyes were hazy, staring blankly at the polished wine glass.
Qin Qiao, preoccupied with her thoughts, dared not linger any longer and left quickly.
Han Fufu only turned her head after hearing Qin Qiao’s footsteps disappear behind her, watching the direction of her departure for a long time.
The red wine tasted delicious. Han Fufu drank the rest of it.
Just as she became pleasantly drunk and hazy, her assistant arrived in time.
“Miss Han! CEO Han!” The assistant, Cong Sheng, leaned close and whispered.
Han Fufu looked up, her vision first blurring to white. After a moment, she could see the person in front of her.
“Why are you here? Weren’t you still in Tangcheng?” Han Fufu lay sprawled on the table, her lips red, looking utterly drunk.
The assistant saw her condition and cautiously looked around. Fortunately, no one else was here, or the Movie Queen’s perfect image would be shattered.
“You didn’t contact me, so I guessed you must be with CEO Qin.” Cong Sheng skillfully explained. “So I asked CEO Qin, and she told me you were here drinking.”
“You were so sure I’d be with her?” Han Fufu managed to sit up straight, asking with blurry, drunken eyes.
The assistant, Cong Sheng, was a Beta, so he couldn’t smell the strong Alpha pheromones on his boss. Out of duty, he helped Han Fufu up, answering helplessly: “Aside from work, you spend almost all your time with CEO Qin. This… anyone who knows you well should know this.”
“Qin Qiao and I…” Han Fufu suddenly stopped walking.
The assistant nearly tripped over her sudden stop. “What’s wrong, CEO Han?”
“In your eyes, is our relationship very good?” Han Fufu asked this question unexpectedly.
Cong Sheng was also a little puzzled. “You and CEO Qin are naturally on very close terms.”
“How… close?”
“Well… when you’re happy, you go to her first. When you’re unhappy, you also go to her. You only confide in her about both work and private matters.”
“Anything else?”
“You constantly mention CEO Qin to people you know. Even when CEO Qin isn’t around, she’s always on your lips.”
“And what else?”
“You and CEO Qin are practically inseparable, and all of your private social media accounts have her—and only her—pinned at the top.”
Hearing this, Han Fufu felt increasingly uneasy and frowned.
The assistant saw her frown and thought he had said something wrong. “CEO Han, I…”
“What kind of relationship do you think she and I have?” Han Fufu finally asked the question on her mind.
The assistant paused, thinking. Since they were both Alphas, what kind of relationship could they have? But upon careful reflection, the relationship he just described could indeed no longer be called simple friendship.
It was…
It was full of ambiguity.
“You… you and CEO Qin are… are best friends.” The assistant could only offer this conservative answer.
Han Fufu felt both relieved and slightly disappointed by the answer.
She couldn’t pinpoint the source of her disappointment.
Mentioning matters of the heart, Cong Sheng remembered the things Madam Han had told him and immediately informed Han Fufu.
“CEO Han, your mother said she hired a master astrologer who calculated that your true match is imminent. You should be getting married soon. Madam wants you to pay attention to the people around you and bring someone home early.”
“What kind of long-term person could I have around me? Go back and tell Mother not to be fooled by those occult masters.” Han Fufu knew that, given the Han family’s status, the possibility of being cheated by wandering charlatans was almost zero. She said this only because she didn’t dare to seriously pursue a romantic relationship again.
Han Fufu had been urged to marry by her mother several times. She wasn’t serious about it and therefore didn’t believe that any astrologer could be so accurate.
“Madam is concerned about you. You should still return to the old mansion and speak to her personally.” The assistant said.
“Fine, I’ll go back once I finish the work I have on hand. I can walk on my own. You don’t need to follow me. You should head back early.” Han Fufu was annoyed. She waved her hand, signaling the assistant to leave.
Cong Sheng didn’t leave immediately. “CEO Han, there’s one more thing. Tomorrow is CEO Qin’s mother’s birthday. Don’t forget.”
“She didn’t even tell me. I almost forgot.” Han Fufu reached up and pointed to her collarbone. “Buy an exclusive, limited-edition necklace for Madam tomorrow morning. The gift absolutely must not be forgotten.”
The assistant bowed and nodded. “I thought you remembered. Alright, I’ll go prepare it immediately.”
“My memory isn’t good. How can I clearly remember everyone’s birthday?” Han Fufu said.
The assistant smiled awkwardly. “CEO Han, you always start preparing a month in advance for CEO Qin’s birthday every year. How can you say your memory isn’t good?”
“So… I care about her that much,” Han Fufu said, seemingly to herself.
Cong Sheng: “Did you say something?”
“Nothing.”
