- Chapter 46 - You’re Disgusted by Me!
Lying on the sofa, Liu Yu opened her eyes after Lou Qingshuang had left. Listening to the sound of her footsteps returning to her room, the corners of Liu Yu’s mouth curled up slightly as she slowly closed her eyes again.
Inside the bathroom, Lou Qingshuang had changed into a thin camisole nightgown, her hair draped over her fair, glowing shoulders. She smoothed her hair back, removed the face mask she had been wearing, and began applying body lotion.
Once she had finished her routine, Lou Qingshuang opened her bedroom door. As soon as she stepped out, she sensed the pheromones of the peacefully sleeping Liu Yu. The pheromones floated compliantly in the air, encircling her.
Lou Qingshuang poured a glass of warm water for Liu Yu and placed it on the coffee table; people who are drunk always wake up thirsty during the night. She stood by the side of the table, looking at Liu Yu, who seemed to be sleeping uncomfortably on her side. Indeed, her sofa was nowhere near as comfortable as the one in Liu Yu’s home.
After standing there for a few minutes, Lou Qingshuang was about to return to her room when Liu Yu reached out and grabbed her.
“Shuangshuang,” Liu Yu called out painfully as she opened her eyes, looking at her with a fragile expression.
Lou Qingshuang felt the hand grasping her own; the palm was burning hot and dry, gripping her with a slight force as if terrified she would leave. Liu Yu’s eyes were hazy with intoxication, making it hard for her to see clearly; she only wanted to hold onto Lou Qingshuang and stop her from going.
Lou Qingshuang lowered her eyelids, looking at the person before her, roles now reversed. Liu Yu’s pheromones clung to her tightly, refusing to let go.
Lou Qingshuang curled her fingertips inward as a response to Liu Yu. She picked up the water from the coffee table and carefully fed it to her. Looking at Liu Yu’s face, Lou Qingshuang thought she was truly beautiful; she couldn’t help but hook her fingers through a strand of Liu Yu’s hair.
“If you had always been like this, perhaps none of these things would have happened,” Lou Qingshuang whispered in a voice so low it was barely audible.
After drinking her fill from Lou Qingshuang’s hand, Liu Yu opened her bleary eyes and opened her arms, pulling Lou Qingshuang into a hug.
“Shuangshuang, I missed you so much.” Liu Yu nuzzled against Lou Qingshuang’s face and neck like a child.
Under the warm yellow light, both Liu Yu and Lou Qingshuang sat on the sofa. Lou Qingshuang was held tightly in Liu Yu’s embrace, her hands hanging at Liu Yu’s sides as she felt the body heat radiating from her. Liu Yu’s body was still just as comforting; perhaps that was why Lou Qingshuang had felt a spark of affection back then. In the winter, she was very warm to hold.
Liu Yu buried her head and nuzzled for a long time, but Lou Qingshuang neither responded nor rejected her. Liu Yu slowly raised her head to look at the indifferent Lou Qingshuang. The rational look in Lou Qingshuang’s eyes stung her; Liu Yu raised a hand to cover Lou Qingshuang’s eyes and leaned down to press a kiss against her lips.
The scent of alcohol rushed into Lou Qingshuang’s nose. She frowned, wondering how Liu Yu had managed to kiss her back then; right now, she found Liu Yu quite repulsive, smelling strongly of booze.
Lou Qingshuang turned her head away with a scowl. “Don’t kiss me. Go brush your teeth.”
“You’re disgusted by me?” Liu Yu looked at her in shock, a look of utter disbelief on her face.
Lou Qingshuang took a deep breath facing the other direction before turning back to say, “The smell of alcohol on you is too strong. I’ll help you go brush your teeth.”
“Alright.” Liu Yu shakily placed her feet on the floor. She frowned as she looked at her legs, thinking for a long time. “Why aren’t my legs moving?”
“Hmm?” Lou Qingshuang looked down as well, only then realizing Liu Yu wasn’t wearing shoes.
Liu Yu looked down at her fair, rounded toes and even wiggled them. Lou Qingshuang couldn’t help but let a smile show on her face; it was the first time she had seen such a cute side of Liu Yu. All the usual shrewdness and nobility were gone.
“Come, I’ll support you.” Lou Qingshuang stood up, her pink nightgown sliding down with an excellent sense of drape.
Liu Yu’s arm was supported by Lou Qingshuang, but she still couldn’t stand steadily, so she wrapped both hands around Lou Qingshuang’s waist to cling to her.
“I feel sick, the world is spinning,” Liu Yu murmured against Lou Qingshuang’s ear. Her slender arms locked Lou Qingshuang in a tight grip, their soft bodies pressed together.
“Liu Yu, I seriously suspect you are taking advantage of me,” Lou Qingshuang said, her head resting against Liu Yu’s chest.
Liu Yu leaned against Lou Qingshuang’s head and said nothing, nor did she move. It wasn’t until Lou Qingshuang gave her a nudge that she realized Liu Yu had fallen asleep while standing up.
Lou Qingshuang looked sideways at the person sleeping soundly against her. With a cold snort, she pushed her down onto the sofa. Liu Yu slumped back onto the cushions, falling into a deep sleep. Lou Qingshuang looked at Liu Yu’s face, reached out to touch it once, straightened her out, and then got up to go back to her room.
Liu Yu slept fitfully all night with a frown. When she woke up the next day, her whole body ached, especially her shoulders and waist, which hurt with every movement. She held her head and sat in the living room that didn’t feel entirely unfamiliar. The water on the coffee table was stone cold; Liu Yu picked it up and drank it slowly.
When Lou Qingshuang opened her bedroom door, she saw Liu Yu sitting there looking miserable and frowning. Liu Yu looked up at Lou Qingshuang, her eyebrows knit into a tight knot; it was clear she was in a lot of pain.
Lou Qingshuang noticed that the expensive dark-red dress was now a crumpled mess, and even a significant portion of Liu Yu’s fair thighs was exposed. Lou Qingshuang placed some clothes on the sofa, gestured for her to wash up in the living room bathroom, and then turned to leave.
“Why did you bring me back last night?” Liu Yu tilted her head up, her hair messy and voluminous, as she looked at the exquisitely made-up Lou Qingshuang.
Seeing the expectant look in Liu Yu’s eyes, Lou Qingshuang slowly walked over to her side. She used her index finger to tilt Liu Yu’s chin up and spoke with a very serious gaze. “I hope you have some sense of contractual integrity.”
Liu Yu froze for a moment before remembering the contract between them. During the treatment period, she was not allowed to have a relationship with anyone else, though this restriction did not apply to Lou Qingshuang.
Liu Yu lowered her eyes, looking at the snowy-white wrist holding her chin, feeling a sense of disappointment. “Alright.”
Only after hearing her answer did Lou Qingshuang withdraw her finger and turn to leave. She had to go to work.
“Once you’re finished washing up, leave on your own. I’m going to work,” Lou Qingshuang said as she put on her shoes by the door. Without a hint of lingering, she opened the door and left.
Liu Yu watched Lou Qingshuang close the door behind her. Her gaze fell upon the pink nightgown, and she couldn’t help but lean her head on her hand with a laugh. Lou Qingshuang certainly had a strong streak of pettiness. Then she suddenly remembered that Lou Qingshuang had also worn a pink nightgown last night. “I suppose this counts as a couple’s outfit.”
Liu Yu’s fingertips touched her chin where Lou Qingshuang had tilted it; the sensation of being held there still lingered. A look of interest appeared in Liu Yu’s eyes; this other side of Lou Qingshuang was truly captivating.
She stood up, picked up the pajamas Lou Qingshuang had left on the sofa, and went straight to the bathroom. Liu Yu turned on the shower, letting the hot water flow directly over her hair. She tilted her head back, enjoying the impact of the hot water.
The scent of Lou Qingshuang was still here. Liu Yu tore off the pheromone blocking patch on her neck that had almost fallen off; the icy scent of Highland Rose exploded into the air. She had slept poorly last night, tossing and turning on the sofa, so the patch was nearly gone by the time she woke up.
She threw it into the bathroom trash can and let the hot water splash over her face. Lou Qingshuang had prepared a clean towel and toothbrush for her, so Liu Yu could use them directly.
Liu Yu put on Lou Qingshuang’s nightgown. It was a bit short, barely covering half of her thighs. She walked around Lou Qingshuang’s apartment with her long legs on full display.
As Liu Yu walked out drying her hair, her bodyguard and secretary had already arrived with clothes. “Chairwoman,” Luo Xiangxue said with a smile, handing her the clothes and cosmetics.
“Mhm, give me a moment.” Liu Yu closed the door.
Half an hour later, dressed in a black suit with her hair tied up, Liu Yu opened the door and stepped out. After closing the door, she sent a message to Lou Qingshuang: The door is locked. Thanks. I’ll treat you to dinner tonight.
I have things to do tonight. Let’s do it another day.
Liu Yu raised an eyebrow at the immediate reply. Since Lou Qingshuang hadn’t rejected her outright, it seemed there was still a chance to eat together. The bodyguards followed behind her as the group quietly left the old residential area.
“Su Hua, thanks for last night,” Liu Yu said, calling Su Hua directly.
“She’s still sleeping. I’ll tell her when she wakes up,” a soft, gentle female voice came from the other side of the phone.
“Good morning, Sister-in-law. Thank you, Sister-in-law,” Liu Yu said.
“You’re welcome. Come over for a meal when you have time; I haven’t seen you or Xiao Qing in a long time,” the gentle voice said with a hint of longing.
“This weekend, once Shang Qing is on break, we’ll come over,” Liu Yu said, smiling at the sunlight.
“Good,” the person on the other end agreed.
Liu Yu hung up the phone and sat in the car. Recalling Su Hua’s help yesterday, she couldn’t help but smile. She hadn’t expected that with Su Hua’s intervention, she would actually be taken home by Lou Qingshuang. Although Lou Qingshuang didn’t give her much of a warm welcome, it was still better than before.
Thinking about how close they were last night and how Lou Qingshuang hadn’t pushed her away, Liu Yu felt a stir of excitement in her heart. They would just keep wearing each other down; either way, she wasn’t going to let Lou Qingshuang leave. Liu Yu thought with a smile in her eyes.
In the laboratory, Lou Qingshuang felt a sudden shiver. Today’s routine testing was finished. She took out her phone to find it filled with menus and restaurant lists sent by Liu Yu, asking what she liked to eat lately.
Friday, Yunmeng Restaurant,]Lou Qingshuang thought for a moment. Yunmeng Restaurant was where she and Liu Yu had had a candlelit dinner before. There was a profound meaning in Lou Qingshuang’s eyes.
Sure enough, as soon as Liu Yu saw “Yunmeng Restaurant,” her brows lifted, and she immediately had someone book a private room.
Friday afternoon, I’ll pick you up from work.
Okay.
After finishing her work for the day, Lou Qingshuang walked out of the lab and ran into Bai Wan. Bai Wan looked exhausted and was yawning. “Didn’t sleep well?” Lou Qingshuang teased.
Bai Wan blushed at her best friend’s look. “She went back and vomited for half the night; I spent forever cleaning up,” Bai Wan complained.
“You’ve never mentioned her before,” Lou Qingshuang asked curiously.
Bai Wan ran a hand through her hair awkwardly, a trace of embarrassment on her beautiful face. “I met her at a nightclub before.”
This time, Lou Qingshuang’s pupils actually dilated. “A nightclub?”
“I was in my heat, and I just happened to run into her,” Bai Wan whispered.
Lou Qingshuang continued to stare at her in shock, a look of total disbelief.
“I only agreed because I saw she was a doctor,” Bai Wan swore. “She showed me her ID, took me to the hospital, but I couldn’t control myself during the heat. She gave me a temporary mark, and after that, things just got messy through the rest of the heat.” Bai Wan explained guiltily.
“So, what are your plans now?” Lou Qingshuang asked her friend.
Bai Wan scratched her head in frustration. “We’re just seeing each other for now. Every time I mention breaking up, she acts like it’s the end of the world.”
Lou Qingshuang couldn’t help but chuckle. It was rare to see Bai Wan troubled by anyone. Bai Wan was a social butterfly who never lingered in one place, yet this time, she was actually putting up with someone who refused to let go.
“Our compatibility is high, she’s sensible, and her… technique is good. I’ll just treat it as a way to relax for now,” Bai Wan said, tossing her hair with a swagger.
“What about you? You really took Liu Yu back? She didn’t do anything to you, did she?” Bai Wan asked with a wink.
Recalling how Liu Yu had fallen asleep while standing, Lou Qingshuang smiled and said, “She slept on the sofa all night and just left.”
