Honey, Open The Door. I Want To Give You The Room Key - Chapter 47
“Thank you, President Lou and President Bai, for gracing us with your presence for this simple meal.” Lou Qingshuang and Bai Wan had been invited by a business partner to dine together at a hotel.
As Liu Yu was leading a group of people out of their private room, she happened to see Lou Qingshuang and Bai Wan entering another one.
Liu Yu stood there instantly, watching Lou Qingshuang’s departing figure. A faint smile played on her lips; she hadn’t expected the two of them to cross paths here.
Tomorrow was Friday—the day of their scheduled date.
Liu Yu was looking forward to tomorrow night’s date very much.
When Lou Qingshuang stepped out of the private room, she encountered a handsome male Alpha.
He wore a suit and carried a powerful aura, his every gesture exuding nobility. When he saw Lou Qingshuang, a flash of amazement crossed his eyes.
“You are very beautiful,” he said, standing at an appropriate distance and timely expressing his admiration.
“Thank you,” Lou Qingshuang nodded to him, and the two brushed past each other as they departed.
Lou Qingshuang did not look back at him; she simply lowered her eyes and headed toward the restroom.
Today, she was wearing a yellow dress, looking both beautiful and elegant, with her hair draped over one shoulder. Lou Qingshuang turned on the faucet to rinse her hands, thinking about the man she had just seen. He felt somewhat familiar, but she couldn’t recall who he was, so she didn’t give it further thought.
Liu Cheng returned to his own private room and sat in the seat of honor. Those accompanying him for drinks and dinner were the scions of some of the big families in Lushi.
On this return trip, he was using the name “Eric,” representing the Phils Group to establish a subsidiary in Lushi.
“I just ran into an extremely beautiful Omega outside,” Eric said with polite grace.
“With Eric’s charm, getting a contact number would surely be a breeze,” the young master of the Fang family, sitting just below him, said supportively.
Eric smiled gently, listening to them talk and exchange pleasantries.
In the depths of his heart, however, he was thinking of Liu Yu and Lou Qingshuang. Heh, what a coincidence that they were both dining here today.
Liu Cheng thought of Liu Yu’s methods; the only possible breakthrough point for her would be Lou Qingshuang.
Liu Cheng pondered how to breach Lou Qingshuang’s defenses to deal Liu Yu a heavy blow and disrupt her control over the group.
Years ago, due to the upheavals in the Liu family, Liu Yu had made moves against all the elders of the older generation upon her return.
Liu Cheng’s eyes turned cold. Naturally, that included him as well.
As the two tables of people were leaving, they crossed paths once more.
Liu Cheng smiled and nodded toward Lou Qingshuang. Lou Qingshuang lowered her eyes and inclined her head slightly as she and Bai Wan walked away slowly.
She felt that this man was not as harmless as he appeared. Lou Qingshuang lowered her gaze, deep in thought.
“Do you know that person who was surrounded by so many people just now?” Lou Qingshuang asked Bai Wan in a low voice.
She asked because some people in that crowd had already greeted Bai Wan.
Bai Wan shook her head. “I’m not quite sure. I certainly haven’t seen that person in my circles before.”
“Judging by his dress and behavior, he might be someone who just returned from abroad. I don’t know which family he belongs to,” Bai Wan said after some thought.
“Today’s cooperation deal is finalized, so we can take a good holiday. Where do you want to go for a vacation?” Bai Wan asked enthusiastically.
“I plan to visit my mother and Aunt Wu. They are living in the mountains; I want to see if they need anything,” Lou Qingshuang said, feeling quite happy at the thought of her mother.
“That works. I’ll go along with you then. We can go mountain climbing and, while we’re at it, shake off that clingy Alpha—she is really too annoying,” Bai Wan said with a flushed face.
“Hahaha, can you really bear to? I heard she’s been staying at your house for a whole day already,” Lou Qingshuang teased lightly.
“Hehe, it’s actually quite nice having her there. At least she does the laundry and cooking. I’ll just use her as a ‘nanny’ for now,” Bai Wan said, waving her hand with feigned dissatisfaction.
“As for Liu Yu, you two have your date tomorrow. Can you get used to it?” Bai Wan said, her eyebrows dancing with excitement.
“It’s not like she and I haven’t eaten together before,” Lou Qingshuang said, giving her a white-eyed look.
“True. Although Liu Yu uses her influence to pressure others, she is indeed romantic. When you need her, she naturally appears.” Bai Wan thought back to when Aunt Shen had surgery; Liu Yu had solved in one sentence what she and Lou Qingshuang couldn’t achieve in six months.
That was the power of strength.
With strength, beauty, and the ability to respect others, she seemed like a great partner no matter how you looked at it. It was just a pity Liu Yu hadn’t seized the opportunity back then; otherwise, the two of them would have been sweet and happy long ago.
The next day, Lou Qingshuang went to her appointment wearing a porcelain-green silk qipao. She stood at the intersection in beautiful high heels, holding an umbrella of the kind seen only during the misty rains of Jiangnan.
It happened to be drizzling today. Lou Qingshuang stood at the intersection waiting for Liu Yu.
Liu Yu’s car pulled up quietly. She looked at Lou Qingshuang with amazement and remarked, “This qipao suits you so well.”
Liu Yu felt as if the corners of Lou Qingshuang’s eyes were filled with the mist of Jiangnan. The moment their eyes met, she felt pulled into the hazy drizzle of a water town.
“The weather today is very suitable,” Lou Qingshuang turned her head to look at the scenery outside the car window. Her face wore a shallow, somewhat distant smile, and her upturned eyelashes seemed capable of plucking someone’s heartstrings.
Lou Qingshuang looked out the window; Liu Yu looked at her.
The air in the car was quiet. Liu Yu could scent the aura on Lou Qingshuang—the scent of burnt wood mixed with the cold fragrance of roses, which also landed on the tip of Lou Qingshuang’s nose.
“Shuangshuang.” An unfamiliar nickname broke the quiet air.
Lou Qingshuang raised an eyelid and looked at her in confusion. “Shuangshuang?”
“We’ve already done the most intimate things. Isn’t it better to use a closer name?” Liu Yu’s eyes were fixed on Lou Qingshuang.
“True indeed,” Lou Qingshuang’s lips curled slightly, and she glanced at Liu Yu with a light gaze.
“Then what should I call you, Director Liu?” Lou Qingshuang sat up straight, her eyelashes trembling, her watery eyes carrying a hint of cool indifference.
The title “Director Liu” sounded more like a cold, playful tease.
“Call me Yuyu,” Liu Yu said, looking at Lou Qingshuang.
Lou Qingshuang looked up at Liu Yu. “Yuyu?”
Liu Yu nodded, her eyes full of smiles. Just then, they arrived at the Yunmeng Restaurant.
Liu Yu got out of the car first and specifically walked to Lou Qingshuang’s door to open it for her, reaching out a hand to receive her.
Lou Qingshuang extended her hand and placed it on Liu Yu’s dry palm. Liu Yu gripped it gently, supporting her as she stepped out.
Liu Yu held the umbrella in one hand and supported Lou Qingshuang with the other as she got out; the two of them crowded under a single umbrella.
The heavy rain hit the ground and splashed, droplets landing on Lou Qingshuang’s shoes.
Liu Yu shielded Lou Qingshuang’s side so the rain wouldn’t wet her high heels.
Liu Yu was dressed in a thin, black, form-fitting suit, walking beside Lou Qingshuang like a serious professional. Lou Qingshuang’s peripheral vision occasionally fell on Liu Yu’s fingers; her fingers were very beautiful.
Liu Yu folded the umbrella, and the two took the elevator together to the top floor.
Yunmeng Restaurant was on the 350th-floor penthouse. From there, one could see the sea of clouds, with the tiny lights from below reflecting into the mist.
Reservations at Yunmeng Restaurant were notoriously difficult to get, but for someone like Liu Yu, who could exercise the power of money, it was a different story.
The group took the elevator for over ten minutes.
Liu Yu held Lou Qingshuang’s hand the entire time and did not let go, and Lou Qingshuang did not struggle.
As soon as they stepped into Yunmeng Restaurant, the manager came forward to greet them.
A violinist in the restaurant began to play a melodious and moving piece of music.
The entire restaurant had only one table left, which was set with candlelight and decanted red wine.
After the bodyguards finished their sweep, they stood in the shadows of the exits and windows so as not to ruin the atmosphere.
This time, the head chef of Yunmeng Restaurant brought out his newly developed dishes.
“Try these; they are new creations not yet available to the public,” Liu Yu invited.
“You can take a sip of red wine first; it will enhance the flavor of the food.” After the chef served all the dishes and gave a brief introduction, he silently withdrew.
“Thank you,” Liu Yu nodded with a smile.
“A very romantic arrangement,” Lou Qingshuang said, looking at the roses scattered around in a sophisticated layout.
Beside each rose was a lamp at a calculated distance, casting a glow that gave the flowers a hazy beauty without overemphasizing them.
“I designed it. Do you like it?” Liu Yu asked, seeing Lou Qingshuang’s gaze lingering on the roses.
“Very thoughtful.” Lou Qingshuang stood up and picked up a vibrant rose, bringing it to her nose to smell.
Liu Yu was very happy to see that Lou Qingshuang liked it. The beauty in the green qipao was like jade, her fingertips holding a rose to her nose—the scene was stunning.
Liu Yu’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t help but stand up and walk to Lou Qingshuang’s side. Liu Yu slowly approached, her shadow overlapping with Lou Qingshuang’s.
Lou Qingshuang looked up at her. “What is it?”
Liu Yu took a step closer to Lou Qingshuang. She raised a hand and gave a light wave; the people hidden in the shadows slowly turned and left.
Lou Qingshuang looked at the person approaching. Two strands of curly long hair fell on either side of Liu Yu’s face. She wore rimless glasses, the lenses reflecting Lou Qingshuang’s figure.
Their shadows were intertwined, though their bodies were not.
“May I invite you for a dance?” Liu Yu extended her hand, inviting her elegantly.
“You may,” Lou Qingshuang placed her hand in hers.
Seeing the two preparing to dance, the violinist slowed the tempo of the music.
The lights around the restaurant were extinguished, leaving only a single lamp in the center. The two danced under that light.
Lou Qingshuang spun with the dance and was pulled back into Liu Yu’s embrace. Their figures danced gracefully under the light, elegant and moving.
Liu Yu looked at Lou Qingshuang under the light; she was as beautiful as a butterfly, fluttering into Liu Yu’s heart.
Lou Qingshuang also looked at Liu Yu, her gaze flickering. “Liu Yu, is your rut about to arrive?”
Liu Yu froze for a moment, not understanding why she asked that, but then she reacted quickly.
Lou Qingshuang was implying that when the rut arrived, she could be called upon anytime—based on the medical treatment and the agreement. It was as if their recent harmony was merely an illusion.
“There’s still time,” Liu Yu’s voice grew significantly colder. She supported Lou Qingshuang and pressed her into her embrace.
“The rut isn’t urgent. Right now, I want to kiss you.” Liu Yu’s eyes were deep and carried a sense of predatory intent as she looked at Lou Qingshuang.
When Liu Yu leaned down, Lou Qingshuang blocked her lips. Lou Qingshuang intentionally leaned close to her ear and whispered, “Yuyu, don’t forget the agreement.”
Liu Yu’s breath hitched. She couldn’t fall in love; once she fell in love, the agreement would be void.
“But I haven’t fallen in love. I’m just captivated by your beauty.” Liu Yu pulled Lou Qingshuang’s hand away and pressed her lips directly against Lou Qingshuang’s soft mouth.
A smile touched Lou Qingshuang’s eyes. Her wrist was controlled by Liu Yu and placed onto Liu Yu’s waist.
The two kissed in the shadows of the lamplight. Lou Qingshuang complied and hugged Liu Yu’s waist.
She held Liu Yu’s waist tightly and accepted her kiss. At some point, the violinist had quietly slipped away.
Inside the entire Yunmeng Restaurant, there were only the two of them.
When Liu Yu released Lou Qingshuang again, her eyes were already misty. She raised her thumb to wipe away the silver thread of moisture from Lou Qingshuang’s lips.
Lou Qingshuang pushed Liu Yu slightly, avoiding her hand. “Let’s eat.”
Liu Yu watched Lou Qingshuang as she escaped her embrace. Her fingers still trailed over Lou Qingshuang’s hand, and she smiled tenderly. “Alright.”
She released Lou Qingshuang’s fingertips and let her sit in her seat to prepare for the meal.
Liu Yu picked up her red wine and took a sip. Lou Qingshuang opened her mouth and elegantly took a bite of the exquisitely decorated appetizer; the flavor of lemon fused with the crisp, sweet shrimp.
“The texture of this appetizer is quite special,” Lou Qingshuang chewed lightly. The scent of lemon filled her nose, clearing away other tastes and leaving only an appetizing sensation.
“Take another sip of red wine; it will enhance the texture,” Liu Yu tilted her wine glass slightly in an invitation to Lou Qingshuang.
Lou Qingshuang also picked up her red wine. The two clinked glasses across the space and tilted their heads to drink.
Tonight, at the Yunmeng Restaurant, there were only the two of them.
Outside the window, the sea of clouds had formed, with the lights from below shining up through the mist.
Fine silk-like rain clung to the glass. Outside was equally romantic. The two stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, drinking red wine and admiring the lights in the sea of clouds.
Liu Yu reached out and took Lou Qingshuang’s hand, turning her head to ask softly, “Do you like it?”
“I like it.” The corners of Lou Qingshuang’s eyes were tinged with pink, looking like peach blossoms in bloom—a sight that left Liu Yu mesmerized.
