Honey, Open The Door. I Want To Give You The Room Key - Chapter 27
When Lou Qingshuang returned, Liu Yu was wearing a long, dark silver nightgown, leaning against the doorframe with her arms folded, waiting for her. As soon as Lou Qingshuang stepped off the elevator, she saw such a tall figure loitering at Liu Yu’s doorstep, which gave her a start.
“Why are you standing here?” Lou Qingshuang asked, patting her chest.
“Waiting for you.” Liu Yu walked out from the doorway with a swaying gait toward Lou Qingshuang, her long, wavy hair moving slowly with her body.
The dark silver nightgown was embroidered with patterns on the lapel; as Liu Yu moved, the patterns moved with her. Her graceful figure exuded an ultimate feminine allure. Lou Qingshuang couldn’t help but tilt her head slightly, unable to understand how an Alpha like Liu Yu could be so captivating. It was certainly a pleasing sight to behold, but the discomfort she brought was also a headache.
The scent of roses brought by Liu Yu pressed against the tip of Lou Qingshuang’s nose. Liu Yu lightly folded her arms, the corners of her narrow eyes upturned. “Why are you unhappy?”
Lou Qingshuang shook her head. Liu Yu sized up her outfit for the day: a black wool coat, a blue shirt underneath paired with straight-leg jeans, and Martens on her feet. Today’s Lou Qingshuang looked retro and chic, carrying a sharp, cold edge.
“Come on, come to my house for some tea.”
Liu Yu reached out and grabbed Lou Qingshuang’s wrist. Turning around, her nightgown fluttered as she led her toward her own home. Lou Qingshuang originally wanted to refuse, but thinking about the Lan Dai matter, she gritted her teeth and finally let go of her resistance. “Let go, I can walk by myself.”
Liu Yu glanced back at her. “Okay.”
Lou Qingshuang sat in Liu Yu’s house. The cold wind from outside the window swirled inward. Lou Qingshuang glanced at Liu Yu’s clothes again—they were so thin it made her feel cold just looking at them. “Don’t you feel cold?” Lou Qingshuang pointed toward the window.
Liu Yu followed her finger toward the window. Outside, the sky was dim, and the light rain that had been falling for days had not yet stopped.
“I’m not cold. Are you?” Liu Yu looked at Lou Qingshuang.
“If you aren’t cold, I should be even less so.” Lou Qingshuang silently pulled her coat tighter, waiting for Liu Yu to speak. Her gaze inadvertently landed on a nightgown crumpled into a ball on the sofa. Lou Qingshuang shifted her eyes away, pretending not to see it; that garment still held traces of her own pheromones.
Originally intending to ask about the Lan Dai situation, Lou Qingshuang’s mind was now filled with the thought of whether she should leave. The best way to soothe an Alpha is to go to bed with them, allowing them to temporarily mark an Omega to relieve the heat and release the Alpha’s pheromones through the marking process. The next best thing is reverse soothing, helping the Alpha channel their violent pheromones, just like the two of them did last night.
But she and Liu Yu were neither relatives nor lovers. Lou Qingshuang was naturally unwilling to shed her clothes and sacrifice herself for a mere transaction.
Liu Yu caught the scent of her own smell on Lou Qingshuang, though it was very, very faint.
“The Lan Dai matter—did you do it?” Lou Qingshuang asked, her light-colored eyes looking at Liu Yu.
“Mm.” Liu Yu nodded calmly.
Lou Qingshuang looked at Liu Yu sitting on the sofa. Her aura did not disappear just because of the rut; on the contrary, because of the pheromone explosion, her Alpha presence was even more overwhelming, carrying a careless languor.
She could feel Liu Yu casting a net over her—a massive net slowly wrapping around her surroundings.
“I could have done it myself,” Lou Qingshuang said, her eyes fixed on Liu Yu. “I have Lan Dai’s information too.”
Liu Yu sat composed with her arms folded, watching her. There was neither contempt nor pressure in her eyes, just a quiet gaze.
The cold wind outside blew the curtains. Liu Yu unfolded her arms, stood up, walked to the window, and closed it. She walked over to Lou Qingshuang. “This is the trade for you helping me yesterday.”
Lou Qingshuang also understood now why Shen Yue had left immediately: because Liu Yu made her afraid.
Lou Qingshuang tilted her head up to look at Liu Yu standing before her. Their eyes met. The deep ocean in Liu Yu’s eyes felt as if it were about to swallow her whole. Looking into those dark eyes, Lou Qingshuang inexplicably felt that she might never escape Liu Yu’s gaze in this lifetime. This thought terrified her.
The dim light from the overcast sky made the room even darker. Liu Yu gazed at the lips Lou Qingshuang had lightly bitten; there were teeth marks and smudged lipstick. Liu Yu raised her finger and gently wiped Lou Qingshuang’s lips, getting the lipstick on her thumb. Her sudden proximity left Lou Qingshuang at a loss.
Lou Qingshuang looked up at her blankly. The hot finger on her lips threw her thoughts into chaos. She looked at Liu Yu with a sense of “creeping skin”—could she really be watched by Liu Yu for the rest of her life?
Lou Qingshuang’s heart thudded rapidly. In the dark room, neither of them spoke; it was silent to the extreme.
Liu Yu’s pheromones coiled around Lou Qingshuang’s pheromone gland like a snake in the shadows.
The friction of the fingertip on her lips was itchy. Lou Qingshuang raised her hand to grab Liu Yu’s, lowered her head, and said in a low voice, “No need, I can wipe it myself.”
Liu Yu pulled out a wet wipe for her. “Wipe it then.”
Lou Qingshuang released her grip on Liu Yu’s wrist and bit by bit wiped her own lips.
“It’s getting late, I should go home. Thank you for clarifying things, Director Liu.” Lou Qingshuang stood up, bypassed the sofa, and prepared to leave.
Liu Yu folded her arms and lazily watched Lou Qingshuang leave. In one more day, the heat period would be over.
What Lou Qingshuang didn’t see when she left was a pheromone compatibility report on the coffee table. It was marked “100%.”
Liu Yu lowered her eyes to look at the compatibility report she had intentionally left on the table. She gave a light chuckle. She had seen fear and withdrawal in Lou Qingshuang’s eyes.
It seemed her acting wasn’t good enough yet.
Upon returning home, Lou Qingshuang took out a pheromone clearing spray and cleaned off all the traces of Liu Yu’s pheromones she had picked up. As she was about to put it away, she felt a surge of annoyance and sprayed the air a few times, as if she were spraying Liu Yu herself.
Lou Qingshuang stood in the hallway to let the breeze dissipate the scent before opening the door.
“Wanshuang is back.” Aunt Wu placed a dish on the table, looking at Lou Qingshuang with a smile. Every time Aunt Wu smiled, she was full of motherly warmth, her eyes crinkling into slits—very cheerful.
“Yes, Aunt Wu. Where’s my mom?” Lou Qingshuang took off her coat, changed her boots, and walked over.
Aunt Wu quietly pointed toward the kitchen and mouthed, “Cooking.”
“Looks like there’s a surprise today.” With a smile on her face, Lou Qingshuang whispered to Aunt Wu.
“Isn’t there? The Mistress started preparing this afternoon, saying she wanted to give you a surprise.”
“Then don’t tell Mom I’m back. I’ll go change my clothes quietly.” Lou Qingshuang cooperated with the mysterious Aunt Wu and crept toward her bedroom.
Watching Lou Qingshuang’s tiptoeing back, Aunt Wu felt a pang of heartache. Such a good person as Wanshuang—how did she end up meeting such a scumbag woman?
Last night, Wanshuang came back covered in pheromones, nearly scaring the Mistress to tears, fearing she had gone out and done something reckless out of despair.
After the two of them observed, the likely subject of “recklessness” was the young resident who had just moved in across the way.
Thinking of that person’s aura and the large group of people following her, Aunt Wu worried for Lou Qingshuang.
The Mistress hadn’t slept much these past two days, fearing that person might take the opportunity to do something excessive to Wanshuang. They had communicated with the property management several times trying to find out who the other person was, but even the management couldn’t say for sure.
All they knew was that she was a new move-in. Fortunately, the property staff would patrol the area at any time to ensure their safety.
