Hold Tight to the Female Lead's Thigh [Transmigration GL] - Episode 48
Guan Fusha halted her steps but did not turn around. After a long pause, she said, “What do you want to ask me?”
It seemed A’Tian hadn’t expected Guan Fusha to agree to her request, as she was slightly taken aback, but she quickly composed herself. Lowering her gaze, lacking even the courage to look at Guan Fusha, she asked in a trembling voice, “Deputy Master, have you fallen for the Left Deputy Master? The kind of affection between a man and a woman?”
Guan Fusha sighed inwardly.
A’Tian was just too stubborn. Once she set her mind on something, she would cling to it relentlessly whether it was about her or about Yan Hong.
Her voice remained calm and unruffled as she replied indifferently, “Mm.”
Although she had long known the answer, hearing it with her own ears still felt like her heart was being torn apart.
It was all because she was too foolish and naive. Hadn’t the Deputy Master’s attitude toward her been obvious all along? She was merely a lowly maid. How could she ever be worthy of the Deputy Master? All along, it had been her own wishful thinking, her refusal to face reality, deceiving herself until she ended up in such a wretched and humiliating state.
A’Tian bit her lip tightly, her hands gripping her skirt so hard they turned white.
After a moment, she managed to force out the words, “This servant will not disturb the Deputy Master any further.”
Guan Fusha stood still, not moving an inch, her eyes lowered as if lost in thought.
She wasn’t unaware of the choked-back tears in A’Tian’s voice, nor did she not know how much A’Tian was suffering. But what good would it do if she went after her? Rather than dragging it out and making her miserable, it was better to cut it clean with one swift stroke. They had shared a master-servant bond for so many years, and yet, in the end, this was all she could do for her.
She turned her face slightly, and the blue-and-white bronze mirror hanging on the wall reflected her breathtakingly beautiful visage. A flicker of ruthlessness passed through her eyes as she murmured to herself, “Time is merciless, beauty fades with age, yet people still relentlessly pursue beautiful things…”
Sometimes, she truly despised this face of hers.
Guan Fusha returned to her room to put away her clothes before leaving again. On the path that should have led straight to the bathhouse, she turned at the corner and stopped in front of a room.
After confirming that someone was inside and not yet asleep, she pushed the door open without knocking and entered directly.
At that moment, Yan Hong was lazily reclining on a chaise lounge, reading a book. Hearing the sound from the door, she merely glanced up unhurriedly before returning her attention to the book.
Guan Fusha was accustomed to her lack of courtesy and walked directly to the carved wooden chair, sitting down and pouring herself a cup of tea. “It’s so late, and you’re still not asleep.”
Yan Hong replied indifferently, “Aren’t you also still awake?”
Knowing that Guan Fusha wouldn’t visit without a reason, Yan Hong sensed she had something to say. She closed the book, casually set it on the table, and walked over to sit in the empty seat beside her. With a nonchalant tone, she asked, “Instead of accompanying the Left Deputy Master, what brings the Deputy Master here to my place?”
Guan Fusha smiled and poured a cup of tea for Yan Hong as well. “To say some things you won’t like hearing.”
Yan Hong paused as she reached for the teacup, lifting her eyes to gaze at Guan Fusha. After a moment, she reverted to her usual carefree demeanor, pretending not to care as she chuckled, “If it’s something I won’t like hearing, then there’s no need for the Deputy Master to say it. I don’t want to ruin my mood.”
“That won’t do.” Guan Fusha took a delicate sip from her teacup and said, “Though you may not want to hear it, these words have been weighing on my heart, and I must speak my mind.”
Yan Hong remained silent, her fingers tracing the rim of the teacup thoughtfully, as if she had already guessed the purpose of Guan Fusha’s visit.
Guan Fusha sighed softly, set down her teacup, and cut straight to the point. “A’Tian came to see me earlier.”
Yan Hong’s expression remained unruffled, but her stilled fingers betrayed her inner turmoil.
Seeing her reaction, Guan Fusha continued, “She asked about my relationship with Taohua.”
“…And so?” Yan Hong’s voice was slightly hoarse as she quietly awaited what would come next.
“My feelings for Taohua are genuine.” Guan Fusha glanced at her sideways, knowing Yan Hong could likely infer the rest without needing to hear it.
Yan Hong lowered her gaze and said nothing.
Witnessing this, Guan Fusha sighed once more.
The current situation might be better described as an unintended consequence.
When she first brought Taohua back to the sect, her only intention was to use her as a decoy to uncover the mole hidden within their ranks. Little did she expect she would inadvertently discover Yan Hong’s feelings for A’Tian.
She had always been fully aware of A’Tian’s affection for her. But A’Tian was a person who knew her place; despite her feelings, she had never spoken of them or made any demands. Thus, Guan Fusha had always turned a blind eye to A’Tian’s emotions, pretending not to know.
After learning of Yan Hong’s feelings, an idea sprouted in her heart—to bring the two of them together. To that end, she devised a plan to kill two birds with one stone.
She deliberately grew close to Taohua, caring for her meticulously, hoping A’Tian would retreat in the face of difficulty. Yet, that foolish girl continued to watch them longingly, stubbornly enduring her heartache.
In the end, everything spiraled beyond her expectations. She had feigned affection but ended up genuinely falling for Taohua, while A’Tian still hadn’t given up on her feelings.
At this thought, Guan Fusha rested her elbow on the table and massaged her forehead. “I plan to transfer A’Tian away from my side.”
Given the circumstances, she could no longer afford to be indecisive.
Yan Hong was taken aback, her eyes widening as she looked up. “A’Tian has served by your side for over ten years. You’re going to transfer her away?”
Her tone carried a hint of accusation, but Guan Fusha had no rebuttal.
“I know, but I believe what I’m doing now is for her own good,” Guan Fusha replied earnestly, meeting Yan Hong’s gaze.
“For her own good?” Yan Hong let out a scornful laugh and swept everything off the table with a loud crash. She demanded sharply, “You know full well how she feels about you, yet you’re sending her somewhere she can’t even catch a glimpse of the person she loves. Is that what you call ‘for her own good’?”
Surveying the mess on the floor, Guan Fusha looked up and said seriously, “A short, sharp pain is better than prolonged suffering. Even if I don’t transfer her, staying by my side will only deepen her agony. She won’t find happiness.”
Yan Hong pressed her lips together tightly, saying nothing.
After a long silence, she finally regained her composure and asked, “…Then where do you plan to transfer her?”
Guan Fusha paused before replying, “That depends on your wishes. If you’d like, I can assign her to the Punishment Hall.”
“…Have you discussed this with her?”
“Not yet. I plan to tell her after we return to the sect.”
Yan Hong slumped back into her chair as if drained of strength, lowering her head with a bitter smile. “She would never willingly come to the Punishment Hall.”
Guan Fusha, however, thought otherwise. “How can you be so sure without even asking her?”
Yan Hong sighed inwardly and was about to speak when she suddenly heard a noise outside the window. Her brow furrowed slightly as she instinctively grew wary. Glancing at Guan Fusha, she saw the same guarded expression on her face. Guan Fusha nodded at her and gestured with her eyes toward the window.
Just then, a dark figure burst through the window, followed by several others dressed in identical black night-attire. They swiftly surrounded the two women, their movements precise and coordinated. Each clearly skilled in martial arts.
“Barging in uninvited—how utterly rude,” Yan Hong remarked, her face unusually displeased.
The black-clad figures offered no reply. Instead, they drew their gleaming silver swords in unison, launching a coordinated attack against the two women.
Yan Hong let out a cold laugh. “It seems even if I asked who you are, you wouldn’t bother to answer.”
She sidestepped a thrust from one of the assailants, pulled a hairpin from her updo, and flung it straight at his neck. Her movements were swift and merciless. The man’s eyes widened in shock, and before he could even let out a cry, he collapsed to the floor.
Caught off guard by the sudden assault, Guan Fusha’s mind raced with worry for Taohua’s safety, leaving her with no heart for the fight. She leaped upward, evading the attacks of three black-clad men, and flipped to hang upside-down from a ceiling beam. With a flick of her sleeve, she scattered poisonous powder into the faces of the attackers below.
Those who were hit writhed on the ground, howling in agony as the exposed parts of their faces rapidly corroded. In moments, their features were reduced to a bloody, unrecognizable mess.
Maintaining her balance, Guan Fusha dropped lightly to the floor. Without a backward glance, she dashed out of the room, calling over her shoulder to Yan Hong, “I’m going to check on my junior sister. I’ll leave this to you!”
