Hold Tight to the Female Lead's Thigh [Transmigration GL] - Episode 47
Taohua took Guan Fusha’s hand, but noticed she remained motionless where she stood. “Senior Sister?”
Guan Fusha hung her head, her face shadowed. Unable to see her expression clearly, Taohua took a step closer, tilting her head to peer at her face, and called out cautiously again, “Senior Sister?”
At that moment, Guan Fusha suddenly tugged hard. Taohua lost her balance and stumbled right into her arms.
Before she could react, Guan Fusha held her tightly, as if a drowning person had found their only lifeline.
Taohua sensed something unusual about Guan Fusha but didn’t press further. Instead, she wrapped her arms around her and patted her back gently, as if comforting a frightened child. “It’s alright, I’m here.”
Guan Fusha stiffened for a moment, then tightened her embrace, burying her face in Taohua’s neck without saying a word.
Taohua felt a bit uncomfortable from the tight hold, and the warmth of Guan Fusha’s breath against her neck made her skin tingle. She tried to focus on Guan Fusha, continuing to pat her back softly without pause.
After what felt like a long time, Taohua finally heard her murmur in a muffled voice, “Next time, don’t just let go of my hand like that.”
Taohua was taken aback for a moment before realizing why her senior sister was sulking. She couldn’t help but find it amusing.
Even so, she replied earnestly, “Alright, I promise I won’t let go of your hand next time. We’ll go kick that scumbag together.”
Hearing this, Guan Fusha couldn’t hold back a chuckle, her mood finally lifting.
She raised her head, cupping Taohua’s face in her hands, and said, “Don’t bother kicking him. It’ll just dirty your feet.”
“Okay,” Taohua replied, grasping her hand with a smile. “Let’s head back now.”
“Sure,” Guan Fusha agreed, also smiling, as she took Taohua’s hand and led the way back.
And so, on the empty street, the two walked hand in hand back to where the carriages were parked, their laughter echoing along the way.
Xiao Yuan was meditating in front of one of the carriages when she sensed someone approaching. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Guan Fusha and Taohua walking slowly toward them from a distance.
She immediately jumped down from the carriage and bowed to Guan Fusha. “Guardian!”
A’Tian, who had been organizing items for their stay that night in another carriage, heard Xiao Yuan’s voice and quickly stopped what she was doing, stepping forward. “Guardian, you’re back.”
“Yes,” Guan Fusha replied with a faint smile.
It was only then that Taohua noticed a large portion of the long carriage train was missing. She asked, “Senior Sister, what happened to the carriages that were following us?”
Guan Fusha glanced in the direction she indicated and replied nonchalantly, “They said they had urgent matters to attend to, so they went ahead back to the sect.”
Taohua immediately understood what had happened and said guiltily, “Was it because I kept dragging you around to play these past few days, slowing down the journey, that they left first?”
“Not at all,” Guan Fusha reassured her with a smile. “They just wanted to report back to the sect sooner so they could visit the brothel and find some company.”
Taohua: “…”
Wasn’t that just another way of saying the same thing! And Senior Sister, did you really have to say something like “visit the brothel and find some company” so bluntly
Yan Hong approached them unnoticed and said, “It’s getting late. I’ve already had Xiao Yuan arrange our accommodation for tonight. Let’s head over now.”
Guan Fusha nodded. Since they weren’t in a hurry to return to the sect, there was no need to rush through the night journey.
The group returned to the carriage and, after a short ride, arrived at their destination.
Guan Fusha stepped down first, extending a hand to assist Taohua, reminding her gently, “Be careful.”
“Mm.” Taohua smiled and hopped down from the carriage, then turned to look up at the inn’s sign—
Square Pavilion.
“S… Square Pavilion?!” Taohua was stunned. If she remembered correctly, Square Pavilion was supposed to be in Yancheng. They had just been in Guicheng. Had they somehow traveled through space during that short journey?
Taohua glanced around and noticed that the nearby shops and scenery seemed different from what she had seen before. Upon closer inspection, although the decor of this Square Pavilion closely resembled the one in Yancheng, its scale appeared slightly smaller.
Yan Hong, who had just stepped down from the carriage, covered her mouth with a light laugh, as if seeing through Taohua’s confusion. “This Square Pavilion is a newly opened branch from a few days ago. The one in Yancheng is the main store.”
Only then did Taohua understand.
That so-called “All-Knowing Scholar of the Jianghu” must have had too much time on his hands. Giving both inns the same name was one thing, but making their decor identical too? Was he deliberately trying to confuse people?
As she moved closer, Taohua noticed that the doors of this Square Pavilion were tightly shut, with no decorations on the facade. It looked as though it hadn’t opened for business yet.
“Is this Square Pavilion not open yet?” Taohua asked Yan Hong.
“Mm, they’ve chosen an auspicious day. It will open in three days,” Yan Hong replied, stepping forward and knocking lightly on the door three times.
“Not open… and we’re staying here?” Taohua twitched the corner of her eye, doubting her own ears.
Before long, the inn’s door was opened by a middle-aged man with a goatee. His face lit up with joy upon seeing Yan Hong. “Miss, you’ve finally arrived.”
Yan Hong greeted him with a smile. “Uncle Wang, it’s been a while.”
“Please, come in,” said the man called Uncle Wang, stepping aside and gesturing for them to enter.
Taohua was bewildered for a moment before she recognized Uncle Wang as the innkeeper she had met at the Square Pavilion in Yancheng.
Once inside, Uncle Wang immediately instructed the waiter to prepare food, as if worried they might go hungry. “Miss, the rooms you requested are ready on the second floor.”
“Good, thank you,” Yan Hong said with a smile.
“Don’t mention it, Miss. Well… I won’t disturb you further.” Uncle Wang was perceptive and quietly withdrew after completing his duties.
Taohua glanced around and confirmed that, just like the exterior, the interior decor was identical to the Square Pavilion in Yancheng.
The tables and chairs in the main hall on the first floor were all made of high-quality sandalwood. The lattice-carved windows and stair railings were thinly coated with gold paint. The colorful lanterns hanging from the ceiling had tassels adorned with what appeared to be crystal beads. The portraits on the walls and the ornaments on the wooden shelves all looked exceedingly luxurious. This Square Pavilion was the epitome of extravagance.
Tsk tsk, I didn’t look closely last time. Who would have thought that the Jianghu Know-It-All was actually so wealthy?
Peach Blossom withdrew her gaze and focused her attention on the steaming hot food.
Guan Fusha picked up a delicate dumpling and placed it in her bowl. “Here, try this. It’s the most famous crab roe and shark fin dumpling from the Four Directions Pavilion.”
“Thank you, Senior Sister.” Peach Blossom swallowed her saliva, picked up the dumpling, blew on it to cool it down, and eagerly popped it into her mouth. As she ate, she murmured, “Mmm… rich in umami, the flavor lingers on the palate, and the texture is superb. It truly lives up to its reputation as a famous dish.”
Yan Hong teased with a smile, “I never expected the Left Protector to be such a connoisseur.”
Peach Blossom nearly choked, averting her gaze somewhat guiltily. “Not bad, not bad.”
After the group had eaten and drunk their fill, they returned to their rooms on the second floor to rest.
Having spent the day sightseeing and enduring a long journey, Peach Blossom was already exhausted. After finishing her bath and returning to her room, she was just about to get into bed when she heard a knock at the door.
“Junior Sister, are you in there?”
Recognizing Guan Fusha’s voice, Peach Blossom quickly replied, “I’m here, Senior Sister. Please come in.”
Guan Fusha entered the room and, seeing Peach Blossom ready for bed, felt a little disappointed. “You’ve finished bathing so quickly? I was planning to ask you to join me at the bathhouse.”
Peach Blossom yawned, looking somewhat listless. “Mm, I wanted to sleep early tonight.”
Guan Fusha’s heart ached at the sight of Peach Blossom looking so tired she could barely keep her eyes open.
This junior sister grew up sheltered in the inner chambers. These past few days of long travel must have worn her out.
She walked to the bedside and gently guided Peach Blossom to lie down.
Startled by the movement, Peach Blossom widened her eyes like a frightened rabbit. “Senior Sister?”
Guan Fusha chuckled at her expression, pulled the quilt over her, and pinched her chin lightly. “Whatever you’re thinking about now can wait until we return to the sect.”
