- He Lost Control with Jealousy — What Happened to Being Untouchable?
- Chapter 65 - Revenge
At that moment, the bathroom door opened.
Lu Tingzhou stepped out with a towel wrapped around his waist, drying his damp hair. He frowned when he saw Sang Wan standing dazedly by the bed, looking utterly lost.
“Waiting for me to help you change?”
He walked over and gently wrapped his arms around her from behind.
Sang Wan stiffened, her lips trembling. Summoning all the courage she had in her life, she whispered in a voice as faint as a mosquito’s:
“Lu Tingzhou… I… I really was a virgin.”
Her words were incoherent, and her eyes reddened instantly.
“I’ve never been with anyone else…”
She was afraid he’d misunderstand.
Afraid he’d think all her earlier grievances and shyness had been an act.
Yet, the expected interrogation and suspicion never came.
Lu Tingzhou merely paused for a moment before turning her around to face him.
Cupping her panicked little face in his hands, he kissed away the dampness at the corners of her eyes, his heart aching for her.
“Silly girl.”
His voice was deep and tender. “I know.”
Of course he knew, how miserably she had cried during her first time. Even in the dead of night, he could still hear her soft sobs, her pitiful pleas of “no.”
Lu Tingzhou pulled her tightly into his embrace, stroking her back soothingly.
“Not every girl bleeds her first time.”
“It’s completely normal. If you don’t believe me, I’ll look it up with you later.”
His lighthearted tone gradually calmed Sang Wan down.
Nestled in his arms, she froze, then looked up at him in a daze. “You… you believe me just like that?”
Lu Tingzhou leaned down, pressing his forehead against hers. His deep eyes held not a trace of doubt, only endless tenderness and love.
“I believe you.”
His voice was firm as he added, “And no matter what, I’ll always love you.”
At this point, Sang Wan was convinced that Lu Tingzhou was an incurable, hopeless romantic.
…
The next day, Sang Wan had to leave early for work.
Since Lu Tingzhou had kept her up late again the night before, she fell asleep the moment she got into the car and didn’t wake up until they reached the studio.
He even carried her all the way to the makeup room.
Song Zixi’s eyes nearly popped out of her head at the sight. Had these two made up already?
After the initial shock, she hurriedly snapped a photo and sent it to Song Xinran.
Song Xinran had been going out of her mind lately. Sun Meixi clearly couldn’t help her, and Lu Tingzhou was dead set on his path, even the old man couldn’t control him anymore.
Sang Wan sat down on the makeup chair, her eyes still closed.
These past two days, Lu Tingzhou had thoroughly exhausted her. As someone who often struggled with insomnia, she had never felt so sleep-deprived in her life.
“Tell the director to push back her scenes.”
Qi Qi blushed at the sight of their clingy behavior.
Lu Tingzhou was filled with regret. He never should have let her come to work in the first place, and he especially regretted losing control last night.
So, he held her in his arms, letting her sleep a little longer.
Sang Wan mumbled that she needed to get her makeup done, squirming in his embrace.
Her unintentional movements sent a wave of heat through the man.
Gritting his teeth, he gently patted her shoulder, coaxing her back to sleep.
Sure enough, the little thing in his arms gradually quieted down.
Outside the makeup room, Luo Zheng clenched his jaw in frustration. This man’s love life was costing them a fortune.
They were already way behind schedule, and now, even after finally getting her here, she had to nap first.
He couldn’t help but wonder if he was really getting old. That man carried himself with such refined elegance, how could he be so unflappable? Did he not have any shame?
When Sang Wan woke up again, it was almost ten o’clock.
She had been held and slept for nearly two hours in the makeup room.
Taking in her surroundings, she snapped awake instantly.
“Lu Tingzhou, why didn’t you wake me up?”
Lu Tingzhou chuckled lightly. “I told you not to come, but you insisted. Aren’t you afraid of falling asleep while filming?”
Sang Wan bit her lip and hit him lightly. “This is so embarrassing. You need to leave, right now! go back to Shencheng.”
It was precisely because he had to leave today that he had indulged last night. He hadn’t expected the little fox’s stamina to be so lacking.
“I’ll leave right away, but your endurance really is too weak. When we get back, I’ll help you train properly.”
Hearing his suggestive tone, Sang Wan’s face flushed. “Hurry and call the makeup artist in. Don’t you have any professionalism? Making so many people wait over and over again.”
Lu Tingzhou had been at the film set for a week, and his company had a pile of matters waiting for him. Though he handled calls and video conferences daily, being away from the office for so long wasn’t sustainable.
“Wanwan, I’ll come back Friday night. Take care of yourself.”
He pressed a light kiss to her soft pink lips, about to deepen it when Sang Wan pushed him away. This man was toxic, she couldn’t let herself get addicted.
“Just go back already. If work is busy, don’t bother coming back and forth. I’ll be done here in about a month anyway.”
Lu Tingzhou didn’t respond. Because truthfully, he wasn’t sure he could last even five days without seeing her.
As he walked out of the makeup room, the makeup artist hurried in to get to work.
Luo Zheng, seeing how refreshed he looked, approached with a dark expression. “Tingzhou, I really misjudged you. I thought you were steady and reliable, but I never expected you to be so…”
As a fellow man, Luo Zheng could tell just by his demeanor, this guy was thoroughly satisfied, both physically and mentally.
“Director Luo, I won’t hold up your progress,” Lu Tingzhou said casually before strolling away.
Luo Zheng gritted his teeth. Won’t hold up progress? Look how much you’ve already delayed things!
After seeing Lu Tingzhou off, Sang Wan began her makeup session.
Midway, her phone rang. Seeing it was her teacher calling, she answered cheerfully.
“Teacher.”
A kind, maternal voice came through. “Xiao Wan, this version is excellent. I’ve already submitted it for you, it’s the most satisfying design draft I’ve seen from you yet.”
“The results will be announced on Saturday. Do you think you can make it?”
“Of course. I’ll discuss it with the director.”
After hanging up, Sang Wan felt even more energized. She should be able to free up a day for it.
The company had been reclaimed, her design draft submitted, everything was moving in a positive direction.
But there was still one thing weighing on her mind.
Xu Shiming had deliberately concealed that the company shares were under her name. Her grandfather had transferred the company to her, only to suffer a sudden cerebral hemorrhage shortly after. Then, less than a month later, her mother died in a car accident.
So many incidents happening one after another, it was as if they had all converged at once.
It left Sang Wan with a lingering unease. She sent Lu Tingzhou a message, asking him to arrange for someone to thoroughly investigate Sang Corporation’s accounts.
Then she texted Qi Qi, instructing her to keep digging into the tangled relationships between Wang Sheng, Lin Lan, and Xu Shiming.
If Xu Shiming knew the shares were in her name, then his plan to marry her off to Wang Sheng meant one of two things: either Wang Sheng had leverage over him, or he had leverage over Wang Sheng and could manipulate him.
But judging from Wang Sheng and Lin Lan’s illicit affair and their conversations, it clearly wasn’t the latter.
As for what kind of leverage it was, that was something worth investigating thoroughly.
Xiao Yan saw her come out, a teasing smile playing on his lips. “Lu Tingzhou is getting on in years, yet he still has so much energy to spare.”
Sang Wan blushed momentarily before growing displeased. “He’s not that old.”
Xiao Yan frowned. “Oh? Already defending him, are we?”
“Well, it’s true. He’s only five, six, seven years older than me.”
With that, she pressed her lips together and smiled.
It had been a long time since Xiao Yan had seen her laugh so happily, and he felt an inexplicable warmth in his heart.
…
Lu Tingzhou returned to his office, his expression dark as he tackled the backlog of work that had piled up over the past few days.
Meanwhile, Lin Hao arrived at the Sang Corporation with the equity documents in hand.
Xu Shiming’s heart skipped a beat when he saw him. After Lu Corporation’s investment funds had been transferred, they hadn’t inquired about the project’s progress at all, clearly, they had no intention of interfering.
So why were they here now? Could it be related to Xu Mingyue’s situation?
“Assistant Lin, what an honor to have you here. I apologize for not welcoming you properly.”
Lin Hao curved his lips into a smile, though his eyes remained icy.
“No need for formalities, President Xu.”
He placed a document gently on Xu Shiming’s desk with refined movements.
“This is the equity authorization for Miss Sang Wan.”
Xu Shiming’s forced smile froze.
“Sang Wan?”
The unease in his heart instantly magnified a hundredfold.
Lin Hao’s tone was indifferent. “Along with the latest equity structure of Sang Corporation. Miss Sang Wan currently holds a 51% stake in the company.”
“What?!”
Xu Shiming shot to his feet, his chair screeching as it slid backward.
“That’s impossible! Where would she get that many shares?”
Lin Hao glanced at him coldly. “Then how many shares should she have?”
Beads of sweat formed on Xu Shiming’s forehead. How was he supposed to answer that?
“No need to trouble yourself, President Xu. You should be well aware that Miss Sang originally held 40% of Sang Corporation’s shares.”
Lin Hao paused, still smiling. “The remaining 11% were gifted by President Lu.”
That single, crystal-clear sentence crashed down on Xu Shiming like a ton of bricks.
He staggered and collapsed back into his chair, his face ashen.
“Now, on behalf of Miss Sang Wan, I am convening an emergency shareholders’ meeting.”
Lin Hao checked his watch. “The location is the conference room, and the time is now.”
Xu Shiming’s lips trembled as he forced out a last-ditch protest. “It’s too sudden. The shareholders will need time to gather.”
“No need to worry about that, President Xu. I’ve already notified all the board members. Those who can’t attend in person can join remotely.”
Xu Shiming could already foresee the outcome. He was speechless.
…
Half an hour later, the so-called shareholders’ meeting began, those who could attend were present, while others joined via video call.
Of course, Lu Tingzhou was also connected to the meeting.
Lin Hao sat at the head of the conference table, his voice ringing clearly in every corner of the room.
“By the authority of Miss Sang Wan, the majority shareholder of Sang Corporation, effective immediately, Mr. Xu Shiming is hereby relieved of all his positions within the company.”
“The decision takes effect now.”
He paused, his gaze sweeping over the so-called “elders” of the company, their expressions varying from shock to dismay.
“The daily operations of Sang Corporation will henceforth be fully managed by a professional team dispatched by Lu Corporation.”
“Additionally, President Lu has requested that all financial records, project contracts, and transaction details from the past decade be sealed for a thorough audit.”
“Any attempt to destroy, transfer, or tamper with these documents will be treated as corporate fraud.”
Lin Hao’s words cut like knives, stripping Xu Shiming of his last shred of dignity.
Lu Tingzhou finally said, “Xu Shiming, you’re out. Out of respect for you being Sang Wan’s father, I won’t take action against you. Go home and retire, just remember to stay in your lane.”
After the meeting, Xu Shiming stormed back to his office like a madman and dialed Sang Wan’s number.
The moment the call connected, he erupted into a hysterical roar.
“Sang Wan! You ungrateful wretch! How dare you team up with your bastard lover to betray your own father!”
On the other end, Sang Wan froze for a second before realizing, Lu Tingzhou had already taken action for her.
“You’re not my father. If President Xu has a daughter, he shouldn’t go around claiming others as his own.”
Xu Shiming collapsed into his chair. How did Sang Wan know? When had she found out?
With Sang Jingchu dead and Sang Zheng’an suffering from dementia, he had nothing left to fear. He snarled in a low voice, “You… you heartless viper! After all these years of raising you, this is how you repay me?!”
Sang Wan didn’t argue.
She simply hung up the phone in silence, then sent him the paternity test report she had saved in her phone.
The message attached was brief:
“Mr. Xu, you’re on your own now.”
She turned off her phone, her pale face expressionless, but her beautiful peach-blossom eyes churned with emotion: hatred, vindication, and an indescribable ache.
Lu Tingzhou.
Just thinking of him made her emotions even more complicated.
That evening, in a private room at the Imperial Court, Lin Lan fidgeted nervously. “What do we do? That little bitch Sang Wan took the company back! I heard the Lu Group’s people have already moved in to audit the books!”
Wang Sheng took a sip of wine, his voice calm. “No need to panic.”
“How can I not panic? My accounts had issues back then. If they find out…”
