- He Lost Control with Jealousy — What Happened to Being Untouchable?
- Chapter 45 - A Mischievous Little Hand
Lu Tingzhou tapped her head lightly. “Keeping you would cost way too much.”
The drama they were filming had almost come to a halt, and he had conceded an additional five percentage points in the collaboration with the Xiao Corporation, not to mention the money invested in Xu Shiming.
Hearing this, Sang Wan pouted unhappily. “Regretting it? If you’re so heartbroken, don’t bother. Save the money to take with you into the coffin.”
Lu Tingzhou: “…”
Just then, his phone rang.
Glancing at the screen, he instructed Sang Wan, “I need to go to the study. You should rest for a bit.”
Sang Wan looked around at the completely familiar surroundings, her steps light and carefree.
When she opened the wardrobe and saw it filled with her clothes, she instantly felt that Lu Tingzhou was incredibly thoughtful.
She grabbed some loungewear and headed to take a shower.
After dinner, Lu Tingzhou sat in the study, his expression grim as he reviewed the investigation report Lin Hao had sent him.
A knock sounded at the door.
Sang Wan tiptoed in, pushing the door open quietly.
Lu Tingzhou closed the file and narrowed his eyes at her. “What are you, a thief?”
“I just didn’t want to disturb you.”
“You’re already in here, and now you say you didn’t want to disturb me?”
Sang Wan curved her lips into a smile. “I was just curious. You’re still so busy even at home.”
He had gone straight to the study after returning, eaten quickly, and after just a pat on her head, disappeared back into the study.
“Because of a certain ungrateful little thing, a lot of work got delayed. Now I have to make up for it.”
Sang Wan blinked her bright, sparkling eyes and leaned in closer. “Does President Lu need overtime pay?”
The phrase “overtime pay” was familiar to Lu Tingzhou, and he couldn’t help but smirk.
This girl…
“No need. This time, I’m willingly working overtime for free.”
Sang Wan deflated. Since coming back, he had left her to her own devices. Even though the bedroom was just like hers before, this was still his territory, and with the servants around, how could she not feel restrained?
She turned to leave but was abruptly pulled back by the wrist, landing directly on his lap.
“If you really want to give something, I suppose I can accept it.”
Sang Wan looked at the man’s deadpan expression and felt her face heat up instantly.
When it came to flirting, women should never compete with men, they would always lose.
But staring at those thin lips so close to her, desire clouded her judgment.
She tilted her head up and kissed him.
Lu Tingzhou pressed a hand against her back, pulling Sang Wan tightly against him.
“Uncle, when did you come back?”
The voice outside was followed by hurried footsteps.
Sang Wan’s heart skipped a beat. Reacting instinctively, she sprang up from Lu Tingzhou’s lap like a startled cat.
It was Lu Jinxuan!
Why was he here?
Her eyes darted around the room. The study was spacious, but there was nowhere to hide a full-grown person.
She didn’t want Lu Jinxuan to find out so soon, especially since it was her first day moving in, and nothing had even happened between them yet.
Whether it was because she didn’t want the Lu family to know or because she herself wasn’t confident, she chose to hide.
Knock, knock, knock.
Lu Jinxuan’s knocking was already at the door. “Uncle, can I come in?”
Sang Wan was so anxious that fine beads of sweat formed on her forehead. Her gaze swept frantically across the room before finally landing on the large mahogany desk.
Almost driven by instinct, she hunched over, lifted the hem of her dress, and awkwardly but swiftly crawled under the desk.
There was enough space, but the height was insufficient. She had to curl up, her head pressed against the wooden panel. The faint scent of sandalwood mixed with the crisp aroma of cedar from Lu Tingzhou enveloped her.
Lu Tingzhou had been lazily reclining in his chair, watching her flustered movements with narrowed, deep black eyes. A trace of displeasure flickered behind his glasses.
Frowning, he lowered his voice, his tone laced with a cold edge of accusation. “Is being with me something you’re so ashamed of?”
Sang Wan crouched beneath the desk, looking up to see only the sharp line of his jaw and his tightly pressed lips.
In a small, aggrieved voice, she explained, “It’s not you, it’s me. The Lu family’s status is too high. I’m afraid.”
The thought of Lu Jinxuan calling her “Sis Wan” so sincerely made her feel a little guilty.
Besides, she and Lu Tingzhou hadn’t gone public yet, and she didn’t want Jinxuan to know she was staying here.
Originally, Lu Tingzhou hadn’t planned to let Jinxuan in, but Sang Wan’s behavior made him change his mind.
It seemed she wasn’t ready to truly acknowledge their relationship.
Or perhaps… she didn’t actually like him that much.
The thought of all the restraint he’d shown recently made him feel wronged.
“Come in,” Lu Tingzhou called toward the door, his voice returning to its usual cool indifference.
The study door opened, and Lu Jinxuan poked his head in, his face lighting up when he saw Lu Tingzhou.
“Uncle! You really are home. It’s been so long since you last came back.”
He strode in and took the seat opposite the desk.
Lu Tingzhou subtly adjusted his posture, discreetly masking the unusual situation beneath the table.
Underneath, his calf brushed faintly against the girl’s arm.
“What is it?” he asked flatly, though his gaze involuntarily flickered downward.
Sang Wan didn’t dare make a sound under the desk, only thinking that Lu Tingzhou’s legs were too long, what should have been ample space was now half-occupied by him.
Completely oblivious, Jinxuan asked, “Uncle, is Sis Wan okay?”
Lu Tingzhou frowned. “Sis Wan?”
Jinxuan scratched his head sheepishly. “Sang Wan. She’s three years older than me, so…”
“You care about her that much?” The man’s expression darkened.
“Of course. Don’t you?”
Lu Tingzhou lifted his gaze. “If you cared, why did such an accident happen on set?”
After the incident, the thought of what could have happened still sent a chill down his spine. If not for Xiao Yan, who knew what might have happened to the little fox? Those five percentage points he’d conceded were nothing in comparison.
“I…” Jinxuan looked ashamed. “I didn’t expect it either.”
“A film crew isn’t just about the director and actors. If you want to run a production company well, logistics and safety are just as crucial.”
Jinxuan listened like a chastened child, his head bowed in remorse.
Under the desk, Sang Wan went from nervous to bored, and now her legs were numb from crouching.
She stealthily reached out and tugged lightly at the crisp fabric of Lu Tingzhou’s trousers.
Once. Twice.
A silent plea, she couldn’t hold on much longer. Her legs were losing all feeling.
Feeling the tug, Lu Tingzhou glanced down, his gaze darkening behind his glasses.
“Uncle, I’ve learned my lesson this time. I’ll manage the production company properly from now on. Working on-site at the studio these past weeks has taught me a lot. I know I can do this well.”
Seeing the earnest look on Jinxuan’s face, Lu Tingzhou felt a quiet pride in his diligent nephew.
The kid might be a little naive, but he was far better than those spoiled, troublemaking playboys who did nothing but waste their family’s fortune.
However, when his gaze swept under the table once more and caught sight of that small, curled-up figure with her gritted teeth and barely suppressed grimace, a mischievous urge to tease suddenly stirred in his heart.
He wanted to see just how long this delicate little woman could endure.
Better yet, he hoped she’d give in and crawl out on her own.
So instead of interrupting Lu Jinxuan, he gave a slight nod, occasionally responding with a word or two, encouraging him to continue.
Sang Wan was practically fuming!
This man was doing it on purpose! Absolutely on purpose!
She pinched the hem of Lu Tingzhou’s trousers hard, but when he showed no reaction, instead listening to Lu Jinxuan with apparent interest, a wave of irritation surged through her.
Her eyes glinted with mischief as she began her “little antics.”
A mischievous little hand crept silently from the hem of his trousers, slowly inching upward.
Through the thin fabric of his dress pants, her pale, slender fingertips, cool to the touch, lightly grazed the firm muscles of Lu Tingzhou’s calf.
Then, like a feather, they drifted upward, soft, barely there, but undeniably provocative.
One stroke, then another.
Not too heavy, not too light, but lethally teasing.
Lu Tingzhou, who had been listening to Lu Jinxuan, stiffened abruptly.
That sudden touch, tingling, electrifying, sent a jolt coursing through his entire body.
His breath hitched slightly.
Seeing her little trick take effect, Sang Wan curled her lips into a smug, wicked smile.
Her fingers grew bolder, tracing the taut lines of his calf muscles as they ventured higher.
When her fingertips brushed the sensitive skin behind his knee, Lu Tingzhou’s grip on his pen tightened involuntarily.
“Mmm…” A faint, barely audible groan escaped his throat.
But Lu Jinxuan noticed.
“Uncle?” He paused mid-sentence, looking at Lu Tingzhou with concern. “Are you alright? You don’t look well.”
Lu Tingzhou’s eyes darkened, a vein faintly pulsing at his temple.
The little minx under the table was getting out of hand!
Sang Wan, thoroughly enjoying herself now, noticed his clenched jaw and flashed a sly glint in her eyes.
Hadn’t he refused to let her touch his abs last night?
Well, now was her chance!
Her hand slid past his knee, heading straight for the upper part of his thigh with clear intent.
Her fingertips circled lightly, testing.
A surge of heat erupted from Lu Tingzhou’s abdomen, flooding his entire body in an instant.
His breathing grew ragged, his body taut as a drawn bowstring.
“Uncle, are you feeling unwell?” Lu Jinxuan, seeing his increasingly strained expression, lips pressed tight, a sheen of sweat on his forehead, grew anxious. “Should I get you some water? Or call Brother Song Ze?”
Before Lu Tingzhou could respond, the reckless little woman under the table had already reached his abdomen.
Through his shirt, her fingertips pressed lightly against his firm, defined abs, part curious, part challenging.
The touch she had been denied last night was now hers for the taking. Sang Wan smirked triumphantly in the darkness.
Lu Tingzhou abruptly reached under the table, seizing her wrist with unerring precision!
His grip was so tight it made her fingers ache.
“Hiss.” She sucked in a sharp breath but dared not make a sound.
“Uncle!” Lu Jinxuan exclaimed as he suddenly moved, hearing him seem even more uncomfortable. He stood up in a panic, “What’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me like this!”
Lu Tingzhou tightly gripped Sang Wan’s hand, the veins on the back of his hand bulging, his voice strained through clenched teeth, “I’m fine.”
“Fine? You’re breaking out in cold sweat,” Lu Jinxuan said urgently. “I should call Brother Song Ze!”
“No need!” Lu Tingzhou snapped sharply, his tone leaving no room for argument.
