- Going Rogue! The Sickly Beauty Stopped Faking After Transmigrating
- Chapter 11 - Is the Hiring Fee Enough?
Xia Lianqi’s expression shifted slightly upon hearing those words. “Your person?”
Yu Feng did not answer him directly, stating only, “I heard there’s been some trouble with that plot of land in the north of the city recently.”
Although the sentence was left hanging, Xia Lianqi caught the subtext: Yu Feng wanted that land to rot in his hands.
As long as the Yu family publicly declared their opposition to the Xia family, given the Yu family’s absolute status in S City, not a single enterprise would dare to collaborate with the Xia family.
Xia Lianqi’s molars were nearly crushed from grinding them so hard, and the veins at his temples throbbed. His face was contorted and slightly twisted as he squeezed out two words through the gaps in his teeth: “Yu Feng!”
Gu Cheng had somehow scavenged a handful of melon seeds from somewhere and even thoughtfully asked Tong Jiu if he wanted some. The two of them sat brazenly on the chairs in the hallway, cracking seeds while enjoying the show.
Seeing that the dispute was largely settled, the police officers prepared to let them go.
Once the officers gave the word, Gu Cheng—fearing that Yu Feng might actually come to settle scores with him later—grabbed Tong Jiu and said, “Let’s go, I’ll take you home.”
Tong Jiu was pulled off balance, leaning against him. “What for? I’m not finished watching yet.”
“Don’t watch anymore. Aren’t you afraid Yu Feng will come after you?” Gu Cheng applied some force, and Tong Jiu was unceremoniously lugged away.
Su An saw his two “accomplices” abandon him just like that, so he began to gingerly shuffle his feet toward the door.
“Going somewhere?” Yu Feng grabbed the hood of Su An’s clothes.
Su An shivered, looking exactly like a cat caught doing something bad, his fur standing on end.
The foot he had just stepped out the door was retracted. Seeing that escape was impossible, he grabbed Yu Feng’s hand and looked up with sparkling, pitiful eyes. “Yu Feng, I’m hungry. Can we go home?”
Seeing that Yu Feng remained unmoved, he continued with his praise, “You even came to pick me up and take me home. Look at Xia Lianqi—he only has bodyguards accompanying him.”
He was truly something, managing to insult Xia Lianqi while simultaneously flattering Yu Feng.
The bodyguards nearby straightened their backs even further upon hearing this, as if thinking: President Xia, I am willing to go through fire and water for you! No matter the cost!
“Say another word!” Xia Lianqi reached his breaking point. It wasn’t that he hadn’t tried calling Feng Ling just now, but the other end of the line had provided nothing but a busy signal.
“Keep scolding!” Su An felt like reminding him that his “character persona” was crumbling.
Su An turned back and shook Yu Feng’s hand again. “Yu Feng, my foot hurts.”
After saying this, he made sure to ease the weight off his sprained ankle, putting on a grand display of being in pain.
Selling misery at the critical moment was indeed useful. Although Yu Feng could tell at a glance that he was faking the level of pain, he couldn’t bring himself to say anything harsh. He crouched down. “Get on.”
Su An climbed onto his back and smiled secretly: The method doesn’t matter, as long as the person is coaxed.
However, once his tensed nerves relaxed, the sprained foot did actually hurt quite a bit. Yu Feng carried him steadily out of the police station.
Zhou Ran was sitting in the car, humming along to the music, when he caught a blurred vision in the distance of his boss carrying something on his back.
Taking a closer look, it was a person! He was so shocked his voice jumped an octave, losing all sense of melody.
By the time Yu Feng reached the car with Su An on his back, Zhou Ran finally snapped out of his shock and hurriedly got out to open the door for his boss.
The interior of the car was silent for a moment. Zhou Ran was terrified, Su An was being cowardly, and Yu Feng was angry.
Zhou Ran suddenly had an epiphany: So, President Yu went to pick up the Boss’s Wife.
Sitting in the back seat, Yu Feng was the first to break the silence. “Zhou Ran, drive.”
Zhou Ran was startled. With his head full of thoughts about the “Boss’s Wife,” he subconsciously blurted out, “Yes, Boss’s Wife.”
Su An’s face flushed at the sudden title. “I’m not…”
The corners of Yu Feng’s mouth curled up. He was very satisfied with the title, and his mood improved significantly. “Year-end bonus is doubled.”
Zhou Ran’s eyes instantly lit up. He secretly vowed that he would defend the Boss’s Wife to the death!
As the car drove toward home, Su An glanced at the man sitting next to him and asked softly, “Are you still blaming me?”
Yu Feng said, “I don’t blame you. I’m just angry that you don’t care about your own body.”
Su An lowered his gaze, fiddling with the hem of his clothes. “It was an emergency this time. It won’t happen again.”
Yu Feng teased, “Mm, quite an emergency indeed. You just got out of the hospital only to get into a fight and end up in the police station.”
As Zhou Ran drove, his ears were pricked: Holy crap, is the Boss’s Wife that fierce?
Su An laughed awkwardly and changed the subject. “I’m really hungry. Will you cook dinner when we get home?”
Zhou Ran was shocked once more: The Boss actually knows how to cook!
Zhou Ran’s heart was in a state of panic; he wondered if knowing this much would lead to him being silenced by the boss. Fortunately, his excellent professional demeanor prevented him from showing even a hint of abnormality.
Yu Feng caught Su An’s slightly cold hand, holding it in his own to warm it. He didn’t speak, but Su An knew he had agreed.
Immersed in the joy of Yu Feng cooking dinner, Su An hopped out of the car happily as soon as it stopped.
Noticing Yu Feng hadn’t followed, he looked back. Yu Feng was looking at him with an amused expression. “Foot doesn’t hurt anymore?”
Su An’s movements froze. He then quickly bent over and cried out with exaggerated pain, “Ow, ow, it’s killing me!”
Yu Feng walked over and rubbed Su An’s fluffy head. “Let’s go, little drama queen.”
Su An hurried to keep up, afraid of being left behind.
Zhou Ran, still in the car, witnessed the whole thing. Was this still his expressionless, frost-cold boss?
Zhou Ran: I can’t look. I simply can’t look.
Auntie Chen was happy to see Su An returning with Yu Feng. “Mr. Yu, Xiao Su, you’re back. Why didn’t you say so in advance? I haven’t prepared dinner yet.”
Su An said, “It’s okay, Auntie Chen. It’s getting late, you should head back. We’ll take care of it ourselves.”
Hearing this, Auntie Chen thought they were going to order takeout and hurriedly said, “Cooking is fast. It’s unhealthy to always eat that takeout.”
Su An knew Auntie Chen had misunderstood and explained, “It’s really fine, Auntie Chen. Yu Feng is cooking today.”
“Mr. Yu is cooking? That’s good, that’s good. Then Xiao Su, you must eat a lot.” Auntie Chen looked enlightened and then departed, leaving the two of them some private space.
Su An ran to the fridge, picking and choosing, carrying all the vegetables he wanted to eat into the kitchen with great enthusiasm.
Yu Feng leaned against the kitchen doorframe with his arms crossed, watching him work. Su An, busy preparing the ingredients, said without looking back, “How about stir-fried shredded potatoes, some bok choy, and sweet and sour pork ribs today?”
Yu Feng said unhurriedly, “Are you treating me like your private chef? My hiring fee is very expensive.”
Su An put down the vegetables, ran to Yu Feng, and stood on his tiptoes to give a light kiss to those thin lips. “Is this hiring fee enough?”
Su An only felt his waist tighten as he was pulled into a firm embrace. Lifting his eyes, he met Yu Feng’s deep, dark gaze.
Yu Feng leaned down, one hand gently tilting Su An’s chin up. His voice was husky as he breathed out two words: “Not enough.”
The next second, a kiss full of predatory intent swept over Su An. Su An found it a bit difficult to endure; his hands climbed onto Yu Feng’s shoulders, his head tilted back as his breathing grew rapid.
After an unknown amount of time, Yu Feng released him. Su An’s eyes were misty and he looked a bit dazed. Seeing this, Yu Feng couldn’t help but give him two more light pecks.
Once Su An regained his senses, Yu Feng patted his head and told him to go wait in the living room.
Su An lay on the sofa flipping through TV channels. Suddenly, he landed on an idol drama, and it happened to be a scene where the two leads were kissing.
Su An looked at the male lead: Hmm, not as handsome as Yu Feng.
The next second, realizing what he had just thought, his face turned red and he quickly switched the channel.
It was the first time for both of us why is Yu Feng so good at it?!
