- Chapter 12 - Little Children Look Very Cute Wearing It
After eating, Su An wandered around the house to help his digestion. Suddenly, he remembered that he had something to discuss with Yu Feng. Seeing that Yu Feng was not in the bedroom, he walked to the study door and knocked.
“Come in.”
Yu Feng was sitting behind his desk, handling documents he hadn’t finished earlier in the day. Seeing Su An enter, he lifted his gaze and reached out, pulling Su An into his lap. He wrapped his arms around Su An’s waist from behind and buried his head in the crook of Su An’s neck, nuzzling gently.
Su An followed his lead and sat on his lap, his back pressed tightly against Yu Feng’s warm chest. The hot breath and the stray hairs against his neck made him feel a bit itchy.
He spoke softly, “Yu Feng.”
Yu Feng’s voice sounded a bit muffled and carried a hint of exhaustion. “Don’t move. Let me hold you for a while.”
Feeling the heat radiating from behind him, Su An reached out and gently massaged Yu Feng’s head. “Are you very tired?”
Yu Feng didn’t speak. For a moment, the room was filled only with the sound of quiet breathing. Su An wanted to shift his position, but as soon as he moved, a pair of large, warm hands tightly gripped his waist.
“Don’t move. If you keep moving, I’m going to…”
A wave of heat rushed to Su An’s face. How could this person be so blunt? He cursed in exasperated shame, “You rogue!” As he spoke, he tried to struggle out of the embrace.
Yu Feng chuckled low as he held him even tighter, his inner sense of mischief satisfied. “I’m not teasing you anymore. What did you want to talk to me about?”
Only after being teased like this did Su An remember the matter he wanted to discuss. He asked, “Do any of the industries under Yu Enterprise involve jewelry?”
Yu Enterprise had a very broad reach. Su An had dismissed the idea of building a studio from scratch; that would be too slow and the cost would be too high. Given his current physical condition, it wasn’t suitable for him to overwork himself by managing an entire studio.
Yu Feng also caught his subtext. “You want to enter a company under the Yu umbrella?”
“One would be a fool not to use their connections. Right, President Yu?” A mischievous smile played on Su An’s thin, crimson lips.
If he wanted to threaten the Su family’s position in the jewelry field, he had to climb to a higher position more quickly. Compared to Su Kefan, who was being supported by the Su family’s money and effort, Su An still had confidence in his own strength.
Yu Feng picked him up directly and headed for the bedroom. “Sleep first. I’ll have Zhou Ran make arrangements tomorrow.”
The next day.
Driven by his biological clock, Yu Feng woke up early. Su An, sensing the movement beside him, opened his bleary eyes and struggled to crawl out of bed.
After Yu Feng finished washing up, he saw Su An sitting by the edge of the bed in a daze, his eyes blinking groggily.
“Why don’t you sleep a bit longer?” He walked over and pinched Su An’s cheek.
“Going to the company with you.” Su An was so sleepy. He somewhat admired Yu Feng—how did he manage to get up so early every day for work?
Yu Feng froze for a moment upon hearing this, then watched as Su An drifted toward the bathroom like a soul that had lost its body.
Bang! Su An was wide awake.
Looking at the closed door in front of him, he lamented: The quality of my head is truly excellent.
The force was just right dazed, but no brain damage.
Yu Feng stepped forward to check the spot where Su An had hit the door. “Did you knock yourself stupid?”
Now that he was awake, a sense of shame flooded his heart. Su An pushed him toward the door. “No, no! Hurry up and go downstairs.”
Yu Feng did not resist, following the force of the push toward the exit. His shoulders trembled slightly, and finally, as if he could no longer hold it in, laughter spilled from his lips.
Su An: “…You’re laughing at me.”
Yu Feng said, “I’m not,” but he made no effort to hide the curve of his lips or his low chuckle.
Su An: “…”
Su An: How about you press down the corners of your mouth before you speak?
After hiding in the bathroom to coax himself back into a good mood, Su An sat opposite Yu Feng to eat breakfast with a calm mind, despite the faint red mark in the center of his forehead.
After finishing his last sip of milk, Su An picked up his coat from the sofa and prepared to head out. Yu Feng pulled out a knitted hat with little bear ears from somewhere and placed it on Su An’s head.
He didn’t know how a Great Villain’s house could have something that was so inconsistent with his own personality. Su An was somewhat resistant. “Isn’t this meant for little children?”
Yu Feng didn’t listen, merely following the thought. “Little children look very cute wearing it.”
Su An: “…”
Su An curled his lip, complaining inwardly: He’s only four years older, what’s with the act of being so profound?
The employee group chat of Yu Enterprise exploded.
[Holy crap, huge news! The boss brought someone to the company today.]
[What?! Our boss actually has a partner?]
[Forgive me, I really can’t imagine what the boss looks like when he’s dating with that cold face of his.]
[I missed it because of a business trip. Are there photos? Let me see what the future Boss’s Wife looks like!]
Zhou Ran, who was lurking in the group, was currently sitting at his desk holding a cup of tea, happily watching the messages explode in the chat.
Zhou Ran: This feels great. Finally, I’m not the only one who’s shocked.
Just as Zhou Ran was happily lurking, Yu Feng arrived at the door of the Special Assistant’s office with Su An.
“Zhou Ran.”
Zhou Ran jolted and stood up abruptly. His phone hit the ground with a loud thud. He felt a wave of guilt, as if he had been caught gossiping about his boss behind his back.
“President Yu.”
Yu Feng looked at his strange expression but ultimately didn’t ask anything. He only said, “Come to my office.”
After Yu Feng left, Zhou Ran squatted down in distress and picked up his poor phone, which had a cracked corner on the screen protector. He stuffed it into his pocket, not forgetting to give it two light pats as a sign of comfort.
When he arrived at the CEO’s office, he saw Su An sitting on the sofa nearby, fiddling with his phone. After yesterday’s repeated mental shocks, he felt that no matter how shocking something was, it wouldn’t phase him anymore.
Yu Feng said, “Didn’t Zhang Zhiming say he was short of designers last time? Take Su An over there.”
Although Zhou Ran had doubts in his heart, he still complied. “Understood, President Yu.”
He turned to look at Su An. “Boss’s Wi”
Hearing what Zhou Ran was about to call him, Su An hurried to interrupt. “You can just call me Mr. Su.”
That title was far too conspicuous; Su An wanted to keep a low profile here.
“Then, Mr. Su, please wait here for a moment while I go say hello to President Zhang.” Zhou Ran nodded slightly and then left quickly.
Not long after, Zhou Ran returned. He drove Su An to a building not far from the Yu Group.
Zhang Zhiming the CEO of Fanjing, a jewelry company under the Yu umbrella—was standing at the entrance of the building looking completely bewildered.
After just finishing a phone call, his whole being was in a state of trance; he even wondered if his ears had deceived him.
Ever since the headquarters announced it would cut off all business dealings with the Su family, the pressure on Fanjing’s design department had increased sharply, and several designers had resigned to join other companies.
Looking at the continuously declining performance, Zhang Zhiming hadn’t had a good night’s sleep until now. The little hair he had left was falling out so fast it was almost gone.
Zhang Zhiming was moved to tears what on earth was he supposed to do at the end-of-year debriefing meeting?
However, Zhang Zhiming had always been known for being impartial and never accepted anyone who came through the “back door.”
He didn’t know what the higher-ups were thinking. Knowing he hated “back-door” hires the most, they still shoved someone into his lap.
Zhang Zhiming silently vowed that no matter who it was, he would maintain a dignified attitude and remain resolutely impartial.
Seeing Assistant Zhou leading someone toward him from a distance, Zhang Zhiming scoffed inwardly: Such a grand display. To have Assistant Zhou personally bring him—why didn’t President Yu bring him personally then?
Once they came to a stop, Su An—wearing his bear-eared hat—gave Zhang Zhiming a polite greeting with a smile. Zhang Zhiming’s gaze swept Su An from head to toe.
The youth in front of him was wearing a fleece coat and a hat, giving off an indescribable sense of obedience. His skin was fair, his face was exquisitely perfect, and his beautiful peach-blossom eyes were currently looking at him with a polite smile.
Zhang Zhiming pressed down on the toupee that was about to be blown away by the cold wind and thought to himself: Great. He’s a “flower vase” (all looks, no talent). Fanjing is doomed.
