From Trashy A to the Heiress’s Little Son-in-Law After the Idol Competition (GL, ABO) - Chapter 77
Ji Yunuo put on the pajamas Xiao Yanjin had given her and noticed the alpha watching with great interest.
Leaning against her shoulder, she asked, “What’s this?”
“Some old diary entries I wrote, I’d completely forgotten about them.” Xiao Yanjin chuckled. It was strange that the original owner had kept a diary.
She flipped to a page that read: Damn it, that dog of a father actually arranged a marriage alliance with the Ji family. I don’t want to marry that ice-cold woman from the Ji family, she’s going to ruin my post-marriage freedom!!
Xiao Yanjin: “…”
Ji Yunuo’s face darkened as she raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
Gently lifting the alpha’s chin, she murmured, “So you used to hate me that much?”
“That was then, baby.” Xiao Yanjin could only resort to coquetry. “It’s different now. If I had my current mindset back then, I would’ve been dying to be your simp, worshipping you until you were moved. No, scratch that, the kind of simp who’d still treat you like first love no matter how much you bullied me.”
Ji Yunuo hummed in satisfaction at her words.
She flipped to another page.
[I always thought my dog of a father was the ultimate simp, but turns out he really is a super simp. Damn it, just to keep Mom from getting upset, he’d go this far!]
Xiao Yanjin froze. What on earth had shocked her so much?
[Saw my birth mother today. Wow, she’s so old yet still so stunning, no wonder she’s a noble tycoon!]
Xiao Yanjin frowned. What nonsense was this?
Ji Yunuo was equally baffled and laughed. “What on earth were you writing?”
“No idea.” Worried that reading further might expose something, Xiao Yanjin decided to stop and tucked the diary into her bag.
Clearing her throat, she pulled Ji Yunuo closer. “Sis, I want more.”
“So eager?” Ji Yunuo’s pajamas were once again stripped away by the alpha.
“Don’t you want to do it more on the bed I’ve slept in for twenty years?” Xiao Yanjin nibbled at her lower lip. “This is our first time here, after all.”
Ji Yunuo’s lingering desire flared up again after a few teasing touches, and soon they were lost in another night of passion.
The next day, Xiao Yanjin contacted Hu Tingting.
Surprisingly, Hu Tingting agreed without hesitation.
After setting up a meeting, Xiao Yanjin cheered excitedly.
Downstairs, the Ji family looked up in confusion.
Wei Qin: “Has this kid lost her mind?”
Ji Yunuo frowned. “Mom, don’t say things like that.”
Wei Qin shrugged. “Then what’s going on with her?”
“Maybe she’s happy about work,” Ji Yunuo guessed.
But Wei Qin wasn’t pleased. At least with Xiao Yanjin around, she had someone to binge dramas with, go for beauty treatments, and discuss all sorts of topics. If Xiao Yanjin started working, she’d be left alone.
Though she had to admit she’d miss Xiao Yanjin’s company, she stubbornly refused to say it outright.
“Why does she need to work? Is the Ji family treating her poorly?” Wei Qin couldn’t understand why Xiao Yanjin would give up being a pampered alpha at home. “I can give her 500,000 in pocket money.”
Ji Yunuo pressed her lips together in exasperation.
“Relax, she’s not leaving the industry. Her fans are begging for her return, if she stays away too long, she’ll lose them,” Ji Ye interjected.
Ji Yunuo nodded, “Indeed, one’s career should never be abandoned.” She had long guessed that Hu Tingting’s agreement to collaborate with Xiao Yanjin wasn’t because the latter had begged for cooperation after obtaining her phone number.
Instead, two days prior, Hu Tingting had come to Eastern Dream Company to collaborate on an MV.
Coincidentally, Eastern Dream had shares owned by the Ji family, and Ji Yunuo happened to be there for discussions when they crossed paths.
“Ah, Miss Ji,” Hu Tingting extended her hand. “The first time I saw you was at the Tengfei Starlight Annual Gala. Even then, I thought you stood out from the crowd. Meeting you in person now!”
Hu Tingting was a female Omega, but her sharp features and cold demeanor, far colder than Ji Yunuo’s shortly after her engagement, paired with rectangular glasses made her appear highly intelligent and studious.
Tall and poised, with a steady voice, she could easily be mistaken for an Alpha.
Ji Yunuo shook her hand. “It’s an honor to meet you, Teacher Hu.”
Afterward, Ji Yunuo invited Hu Tingting, who had just finished filming the MV, to dinner.
Hu Tingting, in her thirties, had risen to fame thanks to her extraordinary talent for composing exceptional songs. Unlike the arrogance of some seasoned veterans, she was genuinely surprised when a junior invited her to dine.
In a quiet little tavern, the two sat on the balcony overlooking the lake.
Moonlight shimmered in rippling waves across the water, distorting the reflections of boats into various shapes.
Hu Tingting took a sip of peach-scented wine and asked, “Is there something you’d like to discuss, Miss Ji?”
Whether in group gossip or high-society rumors, the Ji heiress was known to rarely engage in socializing, yet admirers flocked to her regardless.
One particularly absurd hashtag came to mind: “Top male celebrity confesses to Ji Yunuo, fans collectively abandon him, claiming he’s unworthy of the Ji heiress.”
It was almost laughable especially since the person she ended up with was even more unbelievable: Xiao Yanjin, the very subject of fangirls’ wildest shipping fantasies.
Ji Yunuo carried an unshakable composure, a presence that even seasoned veterans in the entertainment industry couldn’t overshadow.
“Teacher Hu, your exceptional talent for writing lyrics and composing music is well-known to me,” Ji Yunuo said. “Because of this, many rising stars long for the chance to work with you. I hope my partner can collaborate with you after all, she talks about you constantly.”
Ji Yunuo wasn’t one to lavish praise, and while she spoke sparingly, her sincerity was undeniable.
Hu Tingting laughed, an incredulous laugh.
“Miss Ji, there’s one thing I don’t understand.”
Ji Yunuo knew what she was about to ask. “Go ahead, Teacher Hu.”
“Why did you choose Xiao Yanjin?” It was the question that had puzzled many these past few days.
“Dream Chaser, Girls!” had ridden the trainees’ popularity to repeated waves of success in the country. Though the group disbanded after just over a year, their influence and skill were no less than that year’s top group.
Being in the entertainment industry, Hu Tingting was well aware of the dynamics among the trainees.
In her eyes, Xiao Yanjin was nothing more than a lazy, shameless Alpha. That such an Omega would fall for her was nothing short of a cosmic joke.
“At first, I didn’t think Xiao Yanjin was a good person either,” Ji Yunuo admitted with a wry smile. She wasn’t exactly a saint herself, otherwise, she wouldn’t have looked down on Xiao Yanjin’s aggressive demeanor during their blind date.
“Everyone says she’s shameless, a freeloader, and a scumbag, but Teacher Hu knows how the entertainment industry works, scandals and rumors are endless. Who can say what’s true or false? You won’t know her true goodness unless you interact with her.” Ji Yunuo spoke eloquently, reaching her hand toward the lakeside.
Her slender fingers happened to brush against the reflection of the moon.
“People love someone for their gentleness, thoughtfulness, or beauty, but I love her for everything, embracing her flaws and cherishing her strengths.”
“She’s like the moon invisible during the day, only revealing her radiance at night, when the world is quiet and no one lingers outside.”
Ji Yunuo likened Xiao Yanjin to the moon, but in Xiao Yanjin’s eyes, Ji Yunuo was the sun because the moon doesn’t emit heat, only the sun can illuminate it like daylight.
Each regarded the other as the most important person. That’s what love is.
Hu Tingting listened thoughtfully, a helpless smile eventually curling at her lips as she gazed at Ji Yunuo.
She didn’t know that when Ji Yunuo volunteered at a music festival abroad, she had been the invited singer. Back then, Hu Tingting had been working backstage and hadn’t seen her only catching a glimpse of swaying black hair and a pair of cool, distant eyes in a fleeting moment.
Xiao Yanjin visited Hu Tingting’s studio.
She showed her the lyrics she had written.
Though skilled in writing lyrics, she was slightly lacking in composition and Hu Tingting happened to be a master composer, so she came to learn.
Hu Tingting was genuinely surprised by Xiao Yanjin’s writing. After reading it, she nodded in approval and asked, “For your fiancĂ©e?”
Xiao Yanjin flashed a roguish grin. “That’s a secret.”
Hu Tingting had no interest in being part of their little game, plenty of singers wrote songs for their loved ones.
Eventually, Xiao Yanjin explained the inspiration behind the song.
She rambled on and on about how it was a love song for Ji Yunuo, about their “NuoYan” ship, how her creativity was like flying dandelions, with ideas flitting about without any coherence, spewing nonsense all the while.
Hu Tingting rubbed her temples, a headache forming.
How could this woman be so talkative?!
Xiao Yanjin clocked out right at six.
“Teacher Hu, see you later.”
“Leaving so early?”
“Yeah, my sister will worry about me.”
Whenever she mentioned Ji Yunuo, Xiao Yanjin’s voice dripped with sweetness as if deliberately softened. Fortunately, her tone was pleasant, so it didn’t come off as cloying.
Of course, she had a reason for leaving early.
Making a baby.
That night, after dinner, the two headed upstairs.
Wei Qin and Ji Zhiye exchanged a glance before letting them be.
“Tired from work today?” Xiao Yanjin massaged Ji Yunuo’s shoulders, her fingers working deftly. Ji Yunuo closed her eyes, thoroughly relaxed.
“Not too bad. You?”
“Just composing. No major issues.” Xiao Yanjin slyly slipped her hands under Ji Yunuo’s clothes.
Ji Yunuo didn’t bother resisting.
“Was Teacher Hu nice to you?”
“Very. Though sometimes she seemed annoyed.” Xiao Yanjin answered honestly keeping her sister informed about interactions with others was standard practice.
“Oh?”
Xiao Yanjin couldn’t figure it out. She thought the song was fine, but Hu Tingting had looked exasperated. Was it because the inspiration came from flaunting their love?
Xiao Yanjin pressed her face against Ji Yunuo’s belly. “Has the baby appeared yet?”
Ji Yunuo burst into laughter. “It’s way too early for that.”
“Then does that mean if you’re not pregnant, we can never get married?” Xiao Yanjin lifted her pitiful puppy eyes, looking utterly dejected.
“Don’t listen to my mom’s nonsense. She may have a bad temper, but she’s open to negotiation and compromise. Things between you two are relatively calm now, she’ll agree to our marriage soon enough.”
Xiao Yanjin propped her chin on Ji Yunuo’s thigh, staring intently at her Omega.
“What’s wrong?” Ji Yunuo touched her own face.
“I think you’re so beautiful.”
Ji Yunuo couldn’t help but laugh. “How many times have you said that?”
“I’ll say it every day so you’ll always be happy.”
Ji Yunuo ignored her Xiao Yanjin’s sweet talk was too much for most people to handle.
She leaned back against the nearby table instead.
But then Xiao Yanjin’s hands began wandering over her fair thighs.
“That tickles.” Ji Yunuo shivered slightly.
“Jiejie, do you remember what day it is a week from now?” Xiao Yanjin blinked, trying to jog her memory.
Ji Yunuo thought hard, afraid she might have forgotten some important anniversary.
Though she and Xiao Yanjin rarely bothered with commemorative dates aside from their anniversary, they didn’t celebrate anything else. Unlike Wei Qin and Ji Zhiye, who even celebrated the first time they took a bath together.
Xiao Yanjin whined, nuzzling against her chest, which was already covered in bite marks. “It’s Labor Day!”
Ji Yunuo hummed. A good holiday indeed.
“Five days off! I want to take you to a hotel for some alone time, no going out for all five days.”
Ji Yunuo frowned. It couldn’t be that simple, Xiao Yanjin definitely had ulterior motives.
Sure enough, Xiao Yanjin grinned. “We can do anything we want during those five days.”
“Let’s make a bet. If I lose, you can do whatever you want to me. If you lose… hehehe.” She flashed a mischievous smile.
Ji Yunuo’s competitive spirit flared instantly. “Fine. What’s the bet?”
Xiao Yanjin whispered in her ear, “Who would your mother care about more if you and her got hurt?”
Without hesitation, Ji Yunuo replied, “No need to bet. Mom would definitely prioritize her first.”
Xiao Yanjin knew the old couple was deeply in love, but surely their daughter mattered too, right?
Baffled, she scratched her head. “Then you pick, jiejie.”
Ji Yunuo smiled, letting Xiao Yanjin nibble her neck as she spoke between breaths, “Bet… who would hit you first if I told them you bullied me?”
Xiao Yanjin froze. Jiejie, you play dirty!
As Labor Day approached, Ji Zhiye and Wei Qin also debated whether to travel.
“Should we bring those two along?”
Ji Zhiye curled up in her wife’s arms, purring like a little leopard.
“No. I just want it to be the two of us.”
Wei Qin knew exactly what Ji Zhiye had in mind.
She tried to suppress a smile but failed. “Alright then.”
