Chapter 1: Captured By The “Poor Boy” Ex-boyfriend He Once Despised (1)
Ji Xiangmian lay on a beach chair, comfortably sipping coconut juice amidst the salty sea breeze.
This small world he had painstakingly selected was hailed as a paradise with the highest happiness index for task-takers. Looking at it now, that was indeed correct.
In the shadow under a massive sun umbrella, the youth wearing beach shorts seemed to glow with whiteness. A pair of sunglasses hung lazily on his pert nose, covering nearly half of his face. His crimson lips bit down on a straw, their color moistened by the coconut juice, appearing even more seductive. He lay languidly on the sun lounger, his fair and soft calves curled up, looking as beautiful as a siren who had just stepped onto the shore.
The sound of waves crashing against the beach drifted from not far away, composing an unordered yet pleasant melody. Ji Xiangmian tapped the air, preparing to use his points to order lunch. In the Quick Transmigration Bureau, as long as you had enough points, you could easily obtain anything you wanted.
Ji Xiangmian’s crimson lips curled up. His account balance still had nearly 100 million points, enough for him to live comfortably for several hundred years.
But the next second, the smile on the corners of his lips froze. Taking off his sunglasses in disbelief, he scrutinized his account balance.
0.
Where did his massive 100 million points go?!
The sea surface in the distance suddenly began to churn, and dark, heavy clouds drifted by in clumps. Ji Xiangmian’s vision blurred, and a semi-transparent small ball of light appeared. He furrowed his brows, picked up the coconut juice, and threw it at the light ball. Coconut juice splashed everywhere, but the light ball nimbly dodged it.
“Come with me, quickly.”
Ji Xiangmian leaned back against the chair, his arms pillowed behind his head. “I’ve already completed my missions. Where else am I supposed to go with you?”
The light ball was named 666, Ji Xiangmian’s partner system for his missions. 666 flashed twice, and its unchanging mechanical voice somehow sounded a bit difficult to describe.
“The ‘108 Methods of Being a Scum Shou’ mission series you just completed has, without exception, completely collapsed.”
Ji Xiangmian’s eyes widened, and he jumped straight off the beach chair. His slender, fair toes were instantly covered in sand, and even his calves had a few grains stuck to them, but Ji Xiangmian couldn’t care about that. His finger trembled as he pointed at the light ball.
“You—you dare slander me!”
666 remained silent. Ji Xiangmian was one of the most outstanding task-takers in the Quick Transmigration Bureau, and all his previous tasks had been completed excellently. He could even play the most troublesome scum roles in the department with ease. However, in the current situation, that series of small worlds had indeed collapsed thoroughly.
666 said succinctly: “It’s because you were too successful in playing the scum. The people you scammed have collectively blackened, causing a chain reaction of collapse across the small worlds.”
While Ji Xiangmian’s face was flushed red with anger, the light ball with difficulty stated the purpose of this trip. “I’m afraid you need to go back once more to patch up the loopholes in those worlds.”
Ji Xiangmian’s chest heaved; he was completely ‘red-lined’ with rage. “Don’t even think about it! Black-hearted Quick Transmigration Bureau, bullshit missions—I’m quitting!”
666 gave a light cough. “If you quit, the 100 million points you just earned will be entirely revoked.”
Ji Xiangmian’s beautiful little face went from red to white, and finally turned a faint shade of green. 666 braced itself: “The sooner you resolve it, the sooner you can come back… to retire.”
Ji Xiangmian gritted his teeth, wishing he could kick the light ball in front of him right off the Earth. However, thinking of that bald ‘zero’ in his account, he held back. He took a deep breath: “Fine, let’s go. There’s going to be interest on my 100 million points…”
Before his trailing voice faded, the person and the ball disappeared from the spot.
When he opened his eyes again, Ji Xiangmian was lying on an enormous bed. He blinked and looked at the ceiling, not yet having regained his senses. An indescribable sour ache came from all over his body, like a machine that hadn’t been turned on for a long time. The parts ground against each other as they rotated, making a labored sound.
Ji Xiangmian was struck with horror: “I’m a perfectly fine, pure young man. I haven’t been defiled by someone, have I?”
666 was speechless: “Can’t you feel for yourself whether you’ve been defiled or not?”
Ji Xiangmian tried to move his body. The sour ache coming from his muscles made him let out an involuntary muffled groan. The end of the sound rose and trembled. No matter how you heard it, it sounded… indecent.
666: “…”
“You weren’t defiled. You’ve just been lying in bed for too long, and your muscles have slightly atrophied.”
Ji Xiangmian smacked his lips and said thankfully, “Fortunately not.”
666 sneered: “What? Are you keeping yourself pure for marriage?”
Ji Xiangmian slowly moved his limbs. Feeling the ache, he didn’t hold it back, taking advantage of the empty room to whimper aloud. “Not exactly, I just hope the protagonist follows the law. Although I am indeed very tempting, he shouldn’t do anything that violates moral standards to an unconscious me. Most importantly, if he fucked me while I couldn’t feel a thing, wouldn’t that be a huge loss? OvO”
If it had eyes, 666 would surely have rolled them heavily. “The protagonist isn’t that desperate.”
Ji Xiangmian was indignant, struggling for a long time just to slightly lift a finger. “If he didn’t crave my body, could he have single-handedly crashed the small world?”
666 fell silent, having no fuck to say.
Although it didn’t want to admit it, Ji Xiangmian was indeed very tempting right now. Having been away from sunlight for a long time, his skin had become even paler, showing a fragile, jade-like quality. His muscles were showing slight signs of atrophy, but because he had been well-cared for, it wasn’t ugly. He was just thinner than before. His face looked as if it had been modeled directly after an elf from mythology. When his eyes were closed, he was as exquisite as a painting. Once his eyes opened, his expression immediately became vivid, making one unconsciously fall for him, wanting to sacrifice everything for him.
Except right now, this face that was beautiful enough to incite the wrath of gods and men was gritting its teeth, trying to crawl out of bed. Like a beautiful rag.
The bedroom door handle moved twice. Ji Xiangmian immediately stopped his movements and lay back down. He blinked, instantly reverting to a dazed, ‘just woken up’ appearance.
666 sneered. This guy should be glad it had checked earlier and found no surveillance cameras in this bedroom.
The door handle turned half a circle, and a thin crack slowly opened. A handsome man in a suit appeared in his field of vision. Ji Xiangmian couldn’t help but shiver. He remembered which world this was.
The man standing at the door looked over intently. His features were just as rugged as in his memory, but with two parts more gloom. He braced one hand against the doorframe and slowly pulled back his lips into a smile. The emotions in his eyes were complex—there was nostalgia, and there was resentment—finally settling into cruelty.
Gu Yang stepped into the room. In the empty bedroom, every step seemed to tread right on Ji Xiangmian’s heart. He walked to the bedside and stopped, leaning down slightly to meet those clear, watery eyes that seemed utterly bewildered.
“You’re awake.”
It was a sigh-like voice, accompanied by a cold gaze sliding over his body.
“You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for this day.”
Ji Xiangmian pursed his lips, his gaze somewhat confused:
“Who are you?”
