- Chapter 13 - If You Have a Fever, Drink Some Honey Water
The average normal temperature of a human mouth is 36-37°C, but what about after a fever sets in?
Shen Huaixu had taken fever-reducing medicine before going to sleep. According to plan, she should have gradually cooled down under the influence of the drug until her body temperature returned to a normal range.
However, plans rarely keep pace with changes.
Shen Huaixu had hurriedly slept for less than three hours when her body, not yet fully recovered from the fever, was snatched away by the waking “Shen Huaixu.”
Unable to get thorough rest, her body temperature remained in a range that was constantly uncomfortable, though not quite agonizing.
Her weakened body couldn’t help but shiver slightly upon entering the air-conditioned lounge, but she quickly returned to normal.
“Shen Huaixu” had to admit that seeing Gu Yinghuai being looked after by friends didn’t bring peace of mind or relief; instead, it sparked a damned jealousy.
That’s right—”Shen Huaixu” equally envied and loathed anyone who could openly draw near to Gu Yinghuai.
Why was it that she was the only one who had to borrow Shen Huaixu’s body just to hold Gu Yinghuai for a brief moment? She wasn’t some Cinderella who had to run away at twelve o’clock!
Gu Yinghuai’s friends spotted her and waved.
“Shen Huaixu” tucked away that bit of resentment and walked quickly to Gu Yinghuai’s side, picking her up by the waist.
To be honest, having two extra people in the car was a real nuisance. She could only desperately suppress the urge to touch Gu Yinghuai and focus entirely on driving.
Fortunately, the only two sober people in the car were sensible enough to get out with the drunk ones. That left only her and the intoxicated Gu Yinghuai, who had fallen asleep leaning against the passenger seat.
“Shen Huaixu” brushed the hair away from Gu Yinghuai’s cheek. The drunken little face was flushed pink, and her lovely philtrum gave off an inviting aura. “Shen Huaixu” leaned down to catch it in her teeth, sampling it shallowly.
Compared to kissing, what she wanted to do now were much more restricted things.
Stepping on the gas, the black SUV sped through the late-night streets.
A single light was left on in the living room.
After removing the high heels from Gu Yinghuai’s feet, “Shen Huaixu” carried the groggy woman into the bathroom.
Helping a drunk person bathe is no easy feat.
They usually don’t lose consciousness entirely; their limbs are weak but they refuse to admit it, waving their soft hands and shouting that they aren’t drunk, bringing all sorts of trouble to those around them.
Fortunately, Gu Yinghuai only had one specific habit when drunk: she became clingy.
Very—very—extremely clingy.
Especially when she was particularly wasted.
She would be like an octopus that had just left its mother’s nest; insecurity surrounded her, forcing her to grab onto anything she could reach.
Her long, soft limbs became invincible tentacles; once entangled by them, there was no way to escape.
“Shen Huaixu” bore the brunt of it, being held in a death-grip by Miss Octopus.
Legs with a hint of soft flesh wrapped around her waist, and her white, waist-cinching dress was squeezed into layers of folds, piling up like small snowy mountain ranges.
The pink shirt had been pulled out of her skirt when she had lunged into the embrace, and skin so white it was dazzling was displayed boldly under “Shen Huaixu’s” eyes.
“Shen Huaixu’s” hand gripped her, and in the blink of an eye, that patch of skin turned from white to pink.
Gu Yinghuai’s warm, hurried breath brushed against her ear like a small brush. “Shen Huaixu” supported Gu Yinghuai’s legs and shifted her upward to prevent this brainless, tentacle-only octopus from sliding off her.
She carried the little octopus and gently placed her on the closed toilet lid, helping her sit steadily.
“Shen Huaixu” squatted on the floor. Gu Yinghuai’s hands instinctively rested on her shoulders, her cold fingertips rubbing back and forth against her collarbone, causing the temperature of that small patch of skin to rise and take on a faint red tint.
Gu Yinghuai stared vacantly at “Shen Huaixu’s” eyelashes, which looked even more curled because her eyes were downcast, and her mind wandered—I really want to swing on those.
Under her gaze, “Shen Huaixu” reached out, gently touching the buttons on her chest, then raised her eyelids to look into Gu Yinghuai’s unfocused eyes.
She looked so innocent and pure; there wasn’t a trace of impurity or gloom in those black pupils. She seemed never to have doubted that the person before her was merely a traveler from a different dimension, wearing her girlfriend’s skin to do bad things; instead, she relied on her with her whole heart.
The overhead light shone down on them, and the shadows of her eyelashes fell across “Shen Huaixu’s” face, perfectly masking her silver-gray eyes.
“Do you know who I am?” It was less of a question from “Shen Huaixu” to Gu Yinghuai and more of a question to herself.
Who am I? I am an inferior person who borrows another’s shell to darkly spy on and encroach upon another’s happiness.
A trapped beast at its wit’s end, knowing happiness doesn’t belong to it yet forcibly trying to stay or even replace the other.
A desperate traveler about to die in the desert, who by luck encounters an oasis.
A person who loves you so much she doesn’t know what to do.
Gu Yinghuai tilted her head, seemingly not understanding why her girlfriend would ask such an obvious question, but she answered truthfully.
“You are Ah Xu,” she said.
Ah… “Shen Huaixu” sighed softly. Such a direct and unvarnished answer. She hadn’t doubted for even half a second; she was certain this was Shen Huaixu.
This was simply—
It was simply tempting her to commit an even more terrible sin.
“Shen Huaixu’s” palm brushed against Gu Yinghuai’s slightly feverish cheek. Her own palm was even hotter, but Gu Yinghuai ignored the scorching temperature. Her cold hand covered “Shen Huaixu’s” hand, her cheek nuzzling into the palm. Her apricot eyes, watery and wide, looked at her, reflecting “Shen Huaixu’s” face.
“Correct answer, plus ten points.” Lips with a temperature higher than normal crushed down hard on Gu Yinghuai’s mouth, which tasted of fruit wine. The white buttons of the pink shirt surrendered one by one under nimble fingers. The distance between them vanished; their hearts beat against each other, feeling each other’s frantic pulses and burning body temperatures.
Tongue pressed against tongue, and small tremors extended all the way up the spine. A pleasure erupting from the depths of the soul drowned “Shen Huaixu.”
She tried to take more.
In bed, neither of the “Shen Huaixus” liked to torment their lover, especially this delicate flower they had carefully nurtured and pampered for years.
Rather than pain, she preferred to irrigate with love, to feel the different textures of the flower and the branches, to scent the fragrance of the stamen and taste the sweet nectar.
To watch the flower bloom to its fullest, swaying in the wind and rain—swaying, swaying—as raindrops dripped onto it, crystal clear.
A few garments, still retaining body heat, gradually piled up on the floor. “Shen Huaixu” was like someone unwrapping a gift, stripping Gu Yinghuai bare, and even her own clothes were piled on the floor.
Palms with a high temperature roamed over skin as white as congealed fat, stirring up a storm born of fire that swept away Gu Yinghuai’s last remaining logic, pulling her into endless pleasure.
Then, to Gu Yinghuai’s confused eyes, “Shen Huaixu” ended the kiss first. She stroked Gu Yinghuai’s back reassuringly, then stood to turn on the shower. Only after confirming the water temperature was right did she pick up Gu Yinghuai, who was still waiting obediently where she was.
Too obedient.
So obedient that “Shen Huaixu” felt a desire to ruin her, to see her stained with her colors, to leave her exclusive brand, and to announce to the world that Gu Yinghuai was hers and hers alone.
Possessiveness reached its peak at this moment.
She bared her sharp canine teeth and bit into the tender skin of Gu Yinghuai’s shoulder. Bright red beads of blood emerged tremulously, then were licked away by a crimson tongue, swallowed, and merged into one.
Now, she looked like a medieval vampire in the dead of night, holding her prey and feasting on tempting blood, savoring its exquisite taste.
The person in her arms was trembling, her throat suppressing a sob that sounded both like joy and distress. She didn’t pull away; instead, she offered herself up, being incredibly well-behaved.
“So good, so good.” “Shen Huaixu” gave the good child her deserved reward, letting pleasure surround her constantly.
The running water washed away the smell of the lounge clinging to them and the slippery moisture on their fingertips. The vampire lady held her “late-night snack” for the evening and soaked in the bathtub that had been filling during the shower.
The water temperature wasn’t scalding. The body that had been “loved” was immersed in the comfortable water, letting out a sigh like a cat’s purr.
Suddenly, Gu Yinghuai’s eyes widened. Her long, slender neck traced a graceful curve in the air, exposing her fragile throat. A hurried cry caught in her throat, turning into a silent struggle.
Too hot.
Lips and tongue with a temperature slightly higher than the human norm covered her. The friction of the rough tongue swept over her with a shivering heat.
The nectar-nest stood alone in the wind and rain, becoming transparent. it was already so fragile that it seemed as if one touch would cause the honey brewed over many years to flow out, only to be intercepted by the long-awaiting honey-gatherer.
However, there was no honey-gatherer in the bathroom—only a vampire lady who had switched from meat to vegetarianism, greedily sucking the nectar. Her crimson tongue refused to let a single drop go as she fed at the nest.
Ripples spread across the calm water. Gu Yinghuai pushed at the head submerged in the water, trying to drive away the little thief stealing her honey.
Instead of leaving, the thief arrogantly bared her sharp teeth, biting open the honeycomb as punishment to demand even more honey.
“Get… get up…” Gu Yinghuai pushed “Shen Huaixu’s” head again. This time, the honey-thief emerged from the water.
Damp black hair clung to her face. A pale face, crimson lips, and a fire burning in her silver-gray eyes.
She looked even more like a vampire than she did moments ago.
“Does it feel good?” “Shen Huaixu” rested both hands on Gu Yinghuai’s shoulders. On the left shoulder, there was a round bite mark; when her fingertips brushed over it, she could feel the uneven texture.
Gu Yinghuai leaned against the edge of the tub, her breathing ragged. Her chest heaved violently, her eyes were vacant, and she sobbed as she answered “Shen Huaixu’s” question.
“Fe… feels so good,” she said. “I want more.”
Normally, when Gu Yinghuai was sober, she wouldn’t boldly demand another round. She would whimper and rub her legs against her, saying nothing and letting Shen Huaixu guess.
If Shen Huaixu didn’t guess right, she would hide under the covers and refuse to come out, feeling ashamed of her forward actions.
But she was drunk now. All shame and subtlety had been cast aside. Controlled by her most primal desires, she boldly expressed her thoughts.
“So good.” “Shen Huaixu” took the hand Gu Yinghuai had resting on the edge of the tub and kissed her fingertips. “Let us continue.”
