Fell In Love With My Older Sister’s Friend - Chapter 2
The hotel room wasn’t large, and although Xu Luzhi’s hearing wasn’t exceptionally keen, she still couldn’t avoid hearing everything clearly.
The older sister, who moments ago was humming an unknown tune, now spoke suddenly, and Xu Luzhi finally made out her voice, it was low and deep, with a natural huskiness a very beautiful, smoky voice.
Just hearing it made one feel that the person inside must be some kind of sultry siren.
Xu Luzhi’s heart gave a sudden leap. That one ordinary sentence made her feel as if her whole body had been electrified. The heat surged over her cheeks in waves, and she didn’t need a mirror to know her face was flushed all the way to her ears.
It was so strange. It wasn’t as if she’d never messed around with friends, and the occasional boob grab was always met with a laugh and nothing more. They were all the same sex, so why could her sister’s friend… make her blush just with a single sentence?
Xu Luzhi’s mind was unsettled. She completely forgot what the person had just said, sitting blankly on the bed, hands tightly gripping the sheets, unconsciously crumpling them up.
It was as if she had just fought some intense battle.
“It’s on the bed, the black lace one.” Perhaps having waited too long for a reply, the other person grew impatient and raised her voice to call out again.
This sentence was a wake-up call. Xu Luzhi finally remembered the item she was asked to fetch.
Not thinking about it was one thing; realizing what it was made Xu Luzhi feel like her face was hot enough to fry an egg.
She had already noticed the clothes scattered by the bed but hadn’t dared to look closely. Now, she had no choice but to rummage through them.
A large white shirt and a pair of dark jeans were both simple and clean. In stark contrast to them was a set of… black lace lingerie.
Perhaps because it had been worn many times, the fabric was slightly wrinkled, casually heaped there. Xu Luzhi cautiously pinched a small piece of the thin material by its edge strap.
It was as thin as a cicada’s wing, only about the size of a palm, and didn’t look like it could fully cover anything. The pure black was clean, and the lace trim was quite stylish, not vulgar at all, winding along the edges like the pattern on a butterfly’s wing.
Under the bright hotel light, the fabric in her hand was even more transparent, allowing light to faintly pass through. Xu Luzhi dared not imagine the actual effect of wearing it. She just instinctively felt that it seemed to hide nothing.
Though it was just an ordinary piece of clothing, Xu Luzhi held it like a hot potato, not knowing where to look.
The soft, smooth touch of her fingertips mingled with the roughness of the lace, lingering in her heart, creating an indescribable feeling of oddness.
Xu Luzhi suppressed her pounding heart, hesitating as she walked toward the washroom, unsure whether she should speak up and explain that she wasn’t Xu Luwei.
But… wouldn’t that make things even more awkward?
Before Xu Luzhi could figure it out, a lazy voice drifted out from the washroom, full of teasing: “If you don’t come soon, I’m coming out naked.”
Perhaps because she had just showered, the smoky voice held a hint of moisture, her words enveloped in steam, which was extremely suggestive and made one think of clean white tiles and a damp countertop.
Xu Luzhi was startled. Without thinking, she knocked on the frosted glass door, casting aside her shyness. The priority was to hand over the lingerie.
No matter what, she couldn’t let the person come out naked.
Although she knew very well it was a joke and that the person could wrap herself in a towel even without clothes, still… Xu Luzhi couldn’t bear the thought of her having nothing to wear.
It seemed the person inside had been waiting for her for a long time. The moment Xu Luzhi knocked, before she could even lower her hand from the door, the glass door cracked open.
Behind the frosted glass door, a shadowy figure was visible a graceful silhouette, standing openly and candidly behind the door, daring one not to look too closely.
A snow white arm stretched out from the gap in the door, like a tender lotus root. Perhaps because the water was too hot, it was faintly pink. The five fingers were as elegant as an orchid, fair and slender, like freshly cut scallion stalks.
The arm still held drops of water that slid down due to gravity, skillfully dropping from the fingertips, rolling to the floor, splitting in two, and vanishing instantly.
The mint candy Xu Luzhi had held in her mouth for a long time was also bitten in half between her teeth.
She had almost forgotten about the overly sweet mint candy, but the instant she accidentally bit down, she clearly felt the spiciness on her tongue, which shot up to her crown, chilling even her internal organs.
It turned out that the candy’s sweet exterior was just a facade; once bitten open, the inside was bitter and spicy, playing a trick on her, making her tear up without any warning. Now, it was too late to spit it out.
Xu Luzhi suddenly felt that the woman inside was like this mint candy unnecessarily alluring, yet frightening, as if once she succumbed, she would never be able to escape the trap.
She handed the small piece of fabric into the other person’s palm, cautiously avoiding any contact with the warmth of her fingertips. Yet, the sweet scent of shower gel involuntarily filled her nostrils, a faint aroma that inadvertently dominated her sense of smell, making her heart pound when she inhaled it.
The frosted glass door closed again. Xu Luzhi turned her gaze, forcing herself not to look at the figure behind the door, and not to imagine what that tiny piece of fabric would look like on her. She opened the main door and rushed out as if fleeing.
She didn’t manage to calm down until she was outside the room, taking several deep breaths.
The mint candy still made her tongue numb, but she ignored it, focusing only on her strong heartbeat, trying to gauge her emotions.
This feeling was unfamiliar, something she had never experienced in her seventeen years, but based on years of reading novels and watching dramas, perhaps it was called her heart fluttering?
But, the other person was a woman, just like her, and she was her sister’s friend.
Judging by the familiar, joking tone, she must be very close to Xu Luwei, perhaps even… having showered together.
That wasn’t a big deal; close friends often showered together, let alone handing over clothes. However, the moment she thought of Xu Luwei’s wooden head, Xu Luzhi felt an indescribable sense of sourness.
She wore black lace lingerie, which her sister wouldn’t; she sang in the shower, which her sister never did; her jokes were daring, which her sister never said.
They had such completely different personalities, so why did she choose her sister as a friend?
Xu Luzhi pondered with a heavy head, then thought it might not be impossible. She had to admit that perhaps this mysterious woman simply liked someone as dignified and quiet as Xu Luwei.
More importantly, even if she wasn’t friends with Xu Luwei, she couldn’t be friends with her.
After all, they were at least six or seven years apart. Xu Luzhi knew everyone still saw her as a child.
But at this moment, Xu Luzhi had never so desperately wished to quickly become an adult overnight.
Especially on the eve of her seventeenth birthday.
“Zhizhi, why did you run out?” A familiar yet gentle voice sounded above her head while Xu Luzhi was still lost in thought, resting her chin in her hand.
It was Xu Luwei coming to find her.
For some reason, Xu Luzhi hadn’t originally felt strongly about Xu Luwei neither much good nor much dislike. Yet, seeing her now, she inexplicably felt a surge of emotion to go against her.
Xu Luzhi didn’t know why she had become so childish all of a sudden.
But she just didn’t want her sister to re-enter the room and see her just-showered friend.
The thought of the woman perhaps only loosely wrapped in a white shirt made Xu Luzhi selfishly want no one else to see her.
Not even her sister.
Xu Luwei indeed reached for the doorknob: “I’ll go in and check. Could you wait outside for me, please?”
Xu Luzhi’s body reacted faster than her mind. Before she realized it, she had already grabbed Xu Luwei’s arm, looking up at her with an innocent expression: “Sister, I’m sleepy. Can you come back with us?”
Xu Luwei’s hand paused on the doorknob. Looking at her sister’s drooping eyelids, it was indeed very late.
Children couldn’t handle staying up late. Her sister, usually such a vibrant girl, now had cheeks flushed from sleepiness, and her eyes were shifty it was clear she was very sleepy.
Without much hesitation, Xu Luwei reached out and held Xu Luzhi’s soft little hand: “Okay, then I’ll take you back to Mom and Dad’s car first. I’ll be right back, alright?”
Xu Luzhi shook her head seriously and told a smooth lie: “The sister inside is already asleep, Sister. Can you come back with me, please?”
Xu Luzhi had been very good at coaxing people since she was a child. She didn’t need to say much; as long as she stared eagerly and pleaded in a softened tone, nine times out of ten, people would soften their hearts.
Now, being swayed by her long-separated younger sister and hearing her soft, childish voice, Xu Luwei’s heart instantly melted. She nodded: “Okay, then let’s go back together.”
She couldn’t help but tap her sister’s forehead, only then realizing that after half a year apart, her sister had grown almost as tall as her. She was already a graceful young woman.
She was still a little immature in her dressing style, visibly full of student air, but that didn’t matter. After the college entrance exam, she would take her sister shopping for clothes and accessories, and soon her sister would also become a charming little fairy whom everyone loved.
Xu Luwei was in a good mood as she sent a “Good night” message to the woman inside and led Xu Luzhi away by her hand.
Xu Luzhi obediently walked with her sister, secretly letting out a sigh of relief in her heart.
Luckily, she stopped her. Otherwise, if the truth had been revealed… how embarrassing would that be?
Thinking of the moments that had just transpired, Xu Luzhi’s heart, which had just calmed down, began to flutter again. She instinctively touched her cheek and found it starting to feel warm again, secretly scolding herself for being weak.
Xu Luzhi walked out the hotel main door and complained softly: “The weather is really hot!”
Xu Luwei looked at her sister’s face, which was indeed all flushed. She gently comforted her: “Be good, Zhizhi. It won’t be hot in the car.”
Xu Luzhi nodded obediently, fanning herself with her hand while asking casually: “Sister, why don’t you ask the sister in the room to stay at our house?”
