Exclusively Possessed By A Yandere Rich Girl - Chapter 3
Xu Fei stared blankly at the hand in front of her, her eyes unblinking for so long that she looked a bit dazed.
The hallucination that only triggered for one specific person had appeared again.
The rich, fragrant scent of roses quietly saturated the air around Xu Fei. Thorny vines seemed to tighten bit by bit, lingering close to the Beta’s degenerated gland, urging her to respond.
“…Hello, I am Xu Fei.” Xu Fei raised her hand, briefly brushing against the Omega’s skin.
The curve of Zhu Nianxi’s lips remained unchanged as her thumb rubbed against her index finger, feeling the lingering warmth of the contact.
“Xu Fei, please take good care of me from now on.”
Throughout the entire morning self-study period, Xu Fei was somewhat absent-minded.
She realized that she was either stealing glances at Zhu Nianxi’s face or listening to the sound of her reading aloud.
She was being far too distracted.
Sensing something, Zhu Nianxi turned slightly. A stray strand of hair behind her ear playfully escaped, making the tip of her ear look even fairer.
There seemed to be a hint of a smile in the young girl’s eyes, an unspoken understanding of this prolonged gaze.
Flustered, Xu Fei nervously propped up her English textbook, pretending to memorize vocabulary words as the temperature on her face steadily climbed.
A few seconds later, she snuck another glance. The Omega had already turned back around, sitting elegantly, her profile looking like a beautiful painting from youth.
The alarm was cleared.
After that minor interlude, Xu Fei’s mood lightened considerably.
Zhu Nianxi was sitting so close to her now…
Xu Fei couldn’t help but think: Maybe when class ends, I can ask her. I won’t pry too much into the past, I’ll just ask if she still remembers me.
As it turned out, Xu Fei had oversimplified things.
The moment the bell rang to end class, a large crowd instantly swarmed around Zhu Nianxi.
Ranked first in the grade, a wealthy young lady… any single one of these labels was dazzling enough on its own, and Zhu Nianxi possessed them all.
Xu Fei drafted and redrafted her words in her mind, but until school let out at noon, she couldn’t find a single appropriate opportunity to speak with Zhu Nianxi.
The crowd heading out to forage for food was massive, surging all at once into Huaiyang High School’s three story grand cafeteria.
Every month, Huaiyang High School would deposit 600 yuan into the meal cards of impoverished students, and they could even enjoy a 20% discount at designated windows.
Without considering the specialty dishes, just ordering the most ordinary fast food set meals meant one could eat very well for the month.
Xu Fei was deeply grateful to the school, and equally grateful to the kind-hearted benefactor who sponsored her education at Huaiyang High.
Tao Yaqian rarely ate the standard fast meals; she had other companions to eat lunch with.
After quickly finishing her lunch, Xu Fei returned to the classroom alone.
Both the front and back doors of Class 7 were wide open. The late-summer wind blew through the trees outside the window and into the room, billowing the curtains into blue waves.
Xu Fei was flipping through her exercise booklet when she suddenly heard a call from the hallway.
“Excuse me, classmate?”
A strange boy was looking at her, his expression looking a bit nervous yet very excited.
“Could you help me slip this into Zhu Nianxi’s desk drawer? Please? I’m begging you.”
With that, the boy handed over an unopened pack of grape flavored gummy candies.
The secret crushes of youth were always like this, composed of lingering glances, blushing faces, and small snacks.
Xu Fei withdrew her gaze and calmly turned a page. “No.”
Sending candy without even knowing where the person sat.
Unqualified.
Besides…
Xu Fei looked over at Zhu Nianxi’s drawer.
It was already stuffed full.
The boy froze.
Wait, this girl looks like she’d be pretty easy to talk to.
Since he had an urgent matter to attend to right away, he placed the gummies directly onto Xu Fei’s desk, clasping his hands together in a pleading gesture. “Just give it to her.”
Before Xu Fei could refuse again, the boy had already run far away.
The pack of gummies lay quietly in the palm of her hand. Xu Fei let out a sigh, walked over a few steps, and arrived at Zhu Nianxi’s seat.
The Omega’s desktop was arranged impeccably. The notebook on the upper-left corner was blown open by the wind, the handwriting was elegant, clear, and refined, as if one could see Zhu Nianxi’s serious expression when she lowered her eyes just by looking at the strokes.
Xu Fei squatted down, searching for a gap among a pile of cookies and chocolates, and painstakingly stuffed the gummies inside.
Light footsteps echoed from behind her.
“Xu Fei?”
Zhu Nianxi looked down at her, her beautiful peach-blossom eyes widening slightly in what seemed to be pleasant surprise.
Seeing the candy at Xu Fei’s fingertips, the Omega curled her lips into a smile. “Are you giving me candy?”
Right at that moment, the other classmates of Class 7 also returned.
Tao Yaqian and her friends walked in, and seeing the scene, Tao Yaqian cried out in surprise. “Feifei? What are you doing squatting down there?”
“No,” Xu Fei stood up hastily, terrified of being misunderstood, and clarified. “Someone else asked me to deliver it.”
Zhu Nianxi was standing too close, when Xu Fei stood up, her nose almost brushed against the Omega’s face.
She hurriedly took a step back, maintaining a clear, innocent distance.
Tao Yaqian didn’t think along romantic lines either, she just found it funny. “I knew it, how could Feifei possibly do that.”
Xu Fei mentally filled in the rest for her. How could Xu Fei possibly like anyone.
Upon hearing the word “no,” the surprise on Zhu Nianxi’s face vanished instantly.
In its place, she developed an interest in something else.
Zhu Nianxi sat back in her seat, her slender, pale fingers tapping the desktop with great relish, savoring those two words. “Feifei?”
Xu Fei had heard countless people call her by those same two characters.
But no one had ever said it as lingeringly as Zhu Nianxi, like an incantation drilling straight into her ears.
Her heart felt incredibly itchy.
Tao Yaqian: “It’s very cute, right?”
“Yes,” Zhu Nianxi nodded, her peach-blossom eyes curving into arches. “Feifei is very cute.”
Xu Fei rubbed her ears. They felt so hot.
The first period in the afternoon was physical education.
Just as Xu Fei finished changing her clothes, Li Qin suddenly appeared at the classroom door and nodded to her. “Xu Fei, come to my office for a moment.”
She followed Li Qin into the office.
The homeroom teacher flipped through the documents on her desk, pulled one out, checked that the contents were correct, and handed it to Xu Fei. “The school has a financial aid project for the new semester. Your conditions match. Take the form home, fill it out, and have your guardian sign it.”
Xu Fei obediently accepted it.
By now, words on the document like “orphan” or “de facto unsupported minor” could no longer sting her eyes.
“Thank you, Teacher.”
Moved by her demeanor, Li Qin patted her student’s shoulder. “Study hard, now go on to class.”
Arriving a few minutes late, the students had already formed a square formation under the physical education teacher’s directions.
The outdoor temperature had been too high recently, so PE class was held uniformly in the indoor basketball gymnasium. The venue was massive, capable of accommodating several classes at the same time.
While they were listening to the main instructions, another class nearby was practicing basketball.
Xu Fei fell into formation, instinctively searching for a certain person’s figure.
She suddenly noticed that Zhu Nianxi wasn’t there.
Yet Ning Siyi was.
The warm-up exercise consisted of running laps around the basketball court.
To avoid standing out, Xu Fei had her own pace controlling technique. She ran leisurely, copying the other students by slowing down her steps during the final laps, but her face wasn’t red, nor was she panting.
As the run neared its end, Xu Fei finally caught sight of the Omega’s figure at the basketball gymnasium’s entrance.
Zhu Nianxi walked in, stepping through the sunlight on the floorboards.
She hadn’t changed her clothes, she was still wearing her well-fitted uniform. The pleated skirt swayed above the young girl’s knees, and below it was a pair of black calf-length socks, wrapping around her slender, straight calves.
Holding a few sheets of documents in her hand, she walked up to the PE teacher and spoke briefly.
Immediately after, Xu Fei saw the PE teacher glance at Zhu Nianxi’s leg and nod.
Leaving the documents behind, Zhu Nianxi turned back toward the outdoors.
Unwittingly, Xu Fei became the first to finish the warm-up run, dazing out on the spot as she watched the Omega’s departing figure.
Zhu Nianxi doesn’t participate in PE class.
What happened to her leg? Did her family not treat it properly for her?
While Xu Fei was deep in thought, a sharp sound of friction suddenly echoed from the floorboards nearby. Someone cursed, and a basketball flew completely out of control toward the Omega’s back.
Xu Fei shouted out. “Zhu Nianxi! Watch out!”
Zhu Nianxi noticed it and tried to dodge to the side, but the basketball bypassed her torso and struck her right leg squarely.
“Ngh!”
In her line of sight, the Omega’s body swayed. Unable to maintain her balance, she collapsed onto the floor.
Xu Fei sprinted over at top speed, arriving at Zhu Nianxi’s side even earlier than the perpetrator who had been closer.
Catching a glimpse of the concerned, amber colored eyes out of the corner of her eye, Zhu Nianxi suppressed the dark gloom in her gaze. She knitted her brows, placing her hand over her right calf.
Xu Fei squatted down. “Zhu Nianxi, are you alright?”
“It hurts…” The Omega’s voice was no longer as crisp and cool as usual. The end of her tone trembled, overlapping with the image in Xu Fei’s memory.
The PE teacher and the boy from the neighboring class rushed over as well.
The boy looked absolutely terrified upon realizing he had hit Zhu Nianxi.
PE teacher: “What’s wrong with the leg?”
She wanted to pull down the student’s sock to check the injury, but the moment she reached out, Zhu Nianxi’s hand intercepted her fingertips. Her voice regained its composure: “To the infirmary first.”
The teacher nodded involuntarily and pointed at the boy nearby. “You, take her to the infirmary…”
“No need,” on the other side, Zhu Nianxi stood up under Xu Fei’s support, leaning half her body weight against the Beta in total reliance. “It’s fine if Xu Fei accompanies me.”
One was an Alpha, the other a Beta.
The teacher agreed: “Alright, Xu Fei, you don’t need to rush back. Take good care of your classmate.”
The boy wanted to follow, but Zhu Nianxi refused him.
The two young girls left the gymnasium leaning on one another.
Inside the infirmary.
The school doctor was busy taking care of another student who had fainted from heatstroke, lying on the bed with completely pale lips.
Xu Fei practically carried the Omega inside, her expression anxious. “Teacher, her leg was hit by a basketball.”
“The leg, huh? The leg is fine as long as it wasn’t the head.”
The school doctor came over briskly and, out of experience, brought over an ice pack.
“Let me see if it’s swollen?”
The school doctor reached out her hand, but she was also blocked by Zhu Nianxi.
The Omega glanced at Xu Fei.
Somehow, Xu Fei understood what she meant.
She stood up and pulled the privacy curtain shut, cutting off the view from the outside.
Zhu Nianxi sat on the sickbed, lowered her head, and folded down her calf sock herself.
Under the sunlight, the Omega’s skin was nearly translucent, possessing the lustrous glow of exquisite jade.
Further down past the sock, a gruesome old scar abruptly entered her line of sight. It was about 5 centimeters long, resembling a fracture line upon broken jade.
Zhu Nianxi lowered her eyes. “It was fractured once. This is the scar left behind after the steel plate was removed.”
The school doctor frowned. “This is quite severe. How is the recovery?”
“I can’t do strenuous exercise, but it’s usually fine,” Zhu Nianxi tilted her face up, her gaze fixed on Xu Fei. “Thanks to the timely treatment back then, I can still walk.”
Xu Fei’s heart virtually overflowed with ache.
She hadn’t expected that it would still leave a lasting ailment.
No wonder Zhu Nianxi always wore calf-length socks.
The school doctor examined the scar carefully, her expression turning complex.
With an injury of this severity, it would probably ache whenever the humidity got slightly higher.
“Let’s apply a cold compress first. Fortunately, it didn’t hit the old injury.”
Just then, the student outside suddenly started coughing. The school doctor hurriedly went out, handing the ice pack to Xu Fei.
“Help your classmate apply the cold compress. Move it around at least every 10 minutes.”
The struck area was just above the scar. It had been red moments ago, but now it was faintly turning bruised.
Xu Fei found a low stool to sit on. Extending her hands, she gently grasped the Omega’s calf.
Zhu Nianxi flinched slightly, but then compliantly surrendered her leg into Xu Fei’s hands.
The moment the ice made contact, the Omega drew in a deep breath.
Xu Fei lifted her face. “Is it very cold?”
“No.” Zhu Nianxi’s voice was exceedingly gentle. “Your body temperature is very high.”
Unprepared for this response, Xu Fei’s fingers uncomfortably brushed against the skin beneath her fingertips.
She had been too anxious earlier. Now that she had calmed down, her sense of touch rushed back, making her notice just how delicate the Omega’s skin was, smooth, silky, and wonderful to the touch.
Crowded into the corner of the infirmary, an unusual atmosphere began to spread through the air.
A gust of wind blew in, bringing with it the familiar scent of roses that Xu Fei knew so well.
Haughty, cool, and revealing its fragrance and intimacy to only one person.
This was a hallucination.
Xu Fei was a Beta, she couldn’t smell pheromones.
Furthermore, Omegas and Alphas at school would always spray pheromone neutralizers to mask their scents.
Unless voluntarily released, even Alphas and Omegas could hardly smell each other’s pheromones.
Xu Fei was incredibly nervous. Aside from the calf in front of her, she didn’t dare to look around randomly, feeling the bashfulness of having taken advantage of someone.
Her palms began to sweat again.
She casually wiped them on her sweatpants before pressing down again, shifting the ice pack to a new position to continue the cold compress.
The scar did not diminish Zhu Nianxi’s perfection, but it couldn’t stop Xu Fei’s heart from aching.
She murmured, her fawn like eyes pooling with moisture: “If only I had found you earlier back then, would things have turned out a bit better?”
Looking at her, a smile suddenly bloomed across the corners of Zhu Nianxi’s mouth, her fingers tightly clutching the infirmary bedsheet.
“You did very well.”
Zhu Nianxi also wanted to pat Xu Fei’s head.
Realizing she had spoken out of turn, and not wanting the Omega to misunderstand her as having ulterior motives, Xu Fei shut her mouth again, hiding her gaze back into the shadows.
“The compress is done. I’ll go find the school doctor.”
“Feifei!”
To her surprise, Zhu Nianxi suddenly grabbed her wrist, holding it very tightly. “Do you know? I am so happy.”
Xu Fei turned back, startled.
The Omega’s eyes were wide open, her peach-blossom eyes staring fixedly at the person before her. Her fingers tightened bit by bit, squeezing Xu Fei’s fingertips.
“I thought you had forgotten about me.”
Zhu Nianxi looked so aggrieved.
