Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 55
As soon as Ning Xi heard the shout, she rushed to the bedroom and pushed the door open.
The room was supposed to have only Yu Qingxue and Wang You inside, but now there was another person—Wei Nian, looking disheveled and embarrassed.
Yu Qingxue’s eyes were filled with tears. She stared at Wang You and Wei Nian in disbelief.
“When did you two get together?”
Wang You reached out to grab Yu Qingxue’s hand.
“Qingxue, listen to me. It’s not what you think…”
“Enough.” Yu Qingxue pulled her hand away and stepped in front of Wei Nian. She grabbed her collar and pointed to the marks on her collarbone.
“Wang You, don’t tell me you don’t know what this is.”
Wang You’s face went pale. She didn’t know how to respond.
“What does Wei Nian have that I don’t?” Yu Qingxue asked.
Wang You lowered her head and stayed silent.
“Is it because she’s an Alpha? Does her scent make you excited? Compared to me, an Omega whose pheromones are useless to you, is an Alpha just more satisfying for you? Wang You, I’m so disappointed in you.”
Yu Qingxue’s voice was soft, but her words landed heavily, making both Wang You and Wei Nian lower their heads in shame.
A flash of fear crossed Wei Nian’s eyes. She was just an actress with no background. If Yu Qingxue wanted to, she could easily ruin her career and make sure she never worked again.
This role had been Wei Nian’s first real opportunity to make a name for herself. She couldn’t afford any mistakes now.
She thought of how easily Cai Yixuan had been replaced, and her knees buckled. She dropped to the floor with a loud thud.
“President Yu, I didn’t know you and Wang You were in that kind of relationship. If I had known, I never would have touched her.”
Wang You’s eyes widened.
“Wei Nian, how can you be so shameless? You’re the one who came after me, and now you want to deny everything and distance yourself? That’s not going to happen.”
“Qingxue, it was all her. She kept calling me ‘Youyou’ over and over. I didn’t want anything to do with her at first. She kept insisting she needed to work on the script and came to my room. I was drunk last night. I don’t even know what happened. It must have been her. She seduced me. I like you more.”
Yu Qingxue smiled faintly. There was nothing warm in her expression—only cold irony. Her lashes trembled as tears slipped down like pearls.
“Keep tearing each other apart. I won’t be part of this mess.”
She turned and saw Ning Xi standing in the doorway. Her body stiffened, and for a moment, her face showed embarrassment. She forced a small smile, but the dimples on her cheeks, once sweet like honey, now tasted bitter and burnt.
“I’m sorry for dragging you into this. I didn’t expect you to witness something so disgusting.”
Ning Xi glanced at Wang You and Wei Nian. The power in her gaze made both of them tremble. Their bodies went rigid under the weight of it, their legs shaking slightly from fear.
Ning Xi walked over and gently took Yu Qingxue’s hand.
“Let’s go. We’re leaving.”
Yu Qingxue was still in shock, letting Ning Xi pull her away from the bedroom without resistance.
In the living room, Ning Xi grabbed a tissue from the coffee table and carefully wiped the tears from Yu Qingxue’s face. She helped her put on a mask and sunglasses.
When they got back to Room 1788, Ning Xi gently removed her sunglasses and took off her mask.
Yu Qingxue’s pale eyes looked like a frozen lake in winter—still, cold, and stripped of all light.
She didn’t move unless Ning Xi nudged her. Only then did she slowly sit on the couch like a doll without strings.
Ning Xi went into the kitchen and brought back a glass of warm saltwater, placing it on the coffee table.
Yu Qingxue sat in silence, her long lashes casting shadows under her eyes.
Ning Xi sat beside her, let out a quiet sigh, and then leaned over to hold her. Her hand rubbed gently along her back.
“You can cry in front of me. It’s okay.”
Yu Qingxue’s lashes quivered. She looked up and met Ning Xi’s dark eyes. In them, she saw warmth and support. Slowly, she closed her eyes, and the tears began to fall.
She wrapped her arms around Ning Xi and wept silently. Her tears soaked into Ning Xi’s shoulder until the fabric was completely damp.
Eventually, Yu Qingxue cried herself to sleep in Ning Xi’s arms.
When Ning Xi heard her slow, steady breathing, she turned slightly and saw her sleeping face.
Her lashes and cheeks were still wet. Her nose had turned red, and even in sleep, her lips were pressed together in silent pain.
Ning Xi slowly loosened her arms and gently lifted her. Holding her carefully, she carried her into the bedroom and laid her down on the bed.
When she stepped out of the room, she checked her phone. It was only 7:01 a.m.
She sat down on the couch and poured herself a glass of the same saltwater she had prepared for Yu Qingxue. She drank it slowly.
She had made it to help Qingxue rehydrate, but in the end, Qingxue had cried herself to sleep instead.
The subtle salty taste spread in her mouth. Ning Xi thought back over the events of the past few days. It all felt a little too orchestrated, like some invisible hand was pushing the story forward.
The affair between Wang You and Wei Nian. The betrayal. All of it played out like scenes from a script, happening one after another right before her eyes.
Especially what had just happened in the bedroom. The way Wang You and Wei Nian turned on each other so suddenly felt out of character.
Would Wang You, with her usual personality, really say something like that to Yu Qingxue?
Would she even have the courage to cheat?
And Wei Nian, who was shy and quiet, didn’t seem like someone who would take the initiative to pursue Wang You either.
Then there was Yu Qingxue, normally so poised and proud who had made herself look completely helpless for the sake of love. That wasn’t like her at all.
Ning Xi finished her glass and set it down.
Out of all of them, only Jiang Yuanxin still acted the same as always.
Maybe that was the place to start.
They had filming that afternoon, so at around ten o’clock, Ning Xi went to wake Yu Qingxue.
The redness from her crying had already faded. Other than zoning out once in a while and looking a little distant, she didn’t seem that different from usual.
Ning Xi looked at her gently.
“Are you okay for today’s shoot? If not, I can ask Director Jiang to give you a couple days off to rest.”
Ning Xi spoke softly.
Yu Qingxue shook her head.
“There’s no need. The production already gives Alphas and Omegas a ten-day break each month from the eighth to the seventeenth. We’ve already lost a lot of time. If I take more days off, it might delay the filming schedule.”
The film was originally planned to wrap up within two months. But because of Yu Qingxue’s heat period, which required ten days of rest each month, the filming schedule had stretched into three months.
Her cycle lasted from the sixth to the fifteenth. The production team had taken this into account when casting the actors.
They set the official rest days from the eighth to the seventeenth, mainly because Wang You’s heat occurred from the fifteenth to the seventeenth. Wei Nian, who joined later, happened to have her heat during those same days.
Yu Qingxue’s cycle was unusually long and difficult to endure. She needed three doses of suppressant every time. Shifting the break a couple of days later made little difference for her and saved Wang You and Wei Nian from having to take any.
The ten-day physiological break was designed so that those with partners could get through it with support, then rest and recover. For those without partners, they had to manage on their own, but they still had enough time afterward to recover.
When Yu Qingxue mentioned her heat, it reminded Ning Xi that her own sensitivity period was only four days away.
Her unusually long sensitivity period had always been a major obstacle to her acting career. No production team would agree to giving an actor ten days off each month just for that.
But the Wen Mo production team was different. They offered a ten-day break every month, and that break just happened to align with eight days of her own cycle.
When Ning Xi joined the crew, she brought six vials of pheromone suppressant, enough for three months of use.
She had read the contract very carefully, especially the section about physiological leave.
If the break had been shorter, or if she had been forced to use more than three doses per month, she would not have been able to accept the role.
Thankfully, fortune was on her side. Such perfect timing felt almost unbelievable.
