Even If You're My Senior, It's Still Forbidden - Chapter 24.2
No, she still had to go back. She needed to retrieve what was hers, what she hadn’t yet returned, the promise she had made to her.
After finishing the pastry, Su Jin’an sat by the table, lost in thought for a moment.
“What are you thinking about, little sister? So engrossed.” Ji Weining teased, carrying in the boiled water and bringing along the digestive pills she had made earlier. “Try these, they’re digestive pills I made. Keep me company for a while before you sleep.”
“Alright.” Su Jin’an snapped out of her daze, took the pills, and swallowed them in one go.
Ji Weining quickly poured her a cup of water, which Su Jin’an casually took and drank down.
“Have you decided what you’ll teach me tomorrow?”
After a moment’s thought, Ji Weining replied, “I’ll teach you how to use the Golden Core.”
Her little sister’s progress had been too rapid, and her foundation was still unstable. Learning to utilize the Golden Core could help compensate for that.
“Alright, I’ll listen to you, senior sister.” Su Jin’an knew a bit about it, the Golden Core was used to store spiritual energy, refine the core’s essence, and nurture the formless Nascent Soul. Thinking of this, she asked, “Do you still have a Nascent Soul now, senior sister?”
Ji Weining answered, “After reaching the Deity Transformation stage, the Nascent Soul becomes a realm, a divine realm, hence the term Deity Transformation.”
Hearing this, Su Jin’an only felt she half-understood.
“Would you like to see it, little sister?” Ji Weining asked, then estimated how much her junior sister could handle. “But only for half an incense stick’s time.”
Su Jin’an shook her head. She wasn’t particularly eager to see the Nascent Soul, as she didn’t know what it was, but she assumed it was similar to the Golden Core not something easily observed by others.
“Once you’ve refined your soul and strengthened it a bit more, I’ll take you to see more.”
Realms and the sea of consciousness were the deepest environments of cultivation.
“Alright, will there be a lot of spiritual energy inside?”
“Yes, and some unruly demonic energy as well.” Ji Weining smiled. That demonic energy was slowly being eroded by her, a secret no one else had known until now, when her little sister became the only one aware of it.
“Can I do that too?”
“If my calculations are correct, yes.” Her little sister’s blood had the same effect as hers, though she didn’t know why. She always felt a closeness between them.
Su Jin’an: “Alright.”
“Let’s get to bed early.”
Su Jin’an moved to the inner side of the bed as usual, and Ji Weining lay down beside her.
She turned over. “Senior sister, hold me while I sleep.”
“Hmm?” Ji Weining made a puzzled sound, then turned to embrace her, her hand resting on Su Jin’an’s waist, feeling how slender she was. When would she gain a little more weight?
Su Jin’an nestled in her embrace, feeling so comfortable that she soon fell asleep.
Ji Weining also noticed the even breathing of the person beside her. She turned her head and whispered, “Asleep?”
She leaned in to look at her face, observing her peaceful slumber, and sighed softly, “So adorable.” Ji Weining reached out and gently pinched her cheek, the real touch confirming that this person truly existed beside her everything felt so close.
She really liked her. At this moment, she recognized her own heart more clearly than ever, and the way she treated her was different from how she treated everyone else.
Why do I have to win her over? She couldn’t help but question the divine oracle.
Even without any mission, she would probably have fallen for her instinctively.
[Win her over; do not let her bring calamity upon the world.]
What do you mean by “bring calamity upon the world”?
How could my junior sister possibly bring calamity upon the world? What is the divine oracle hiding from her?
[Save her, protect her well.]
Save her? I will. Protect her? I will, too.
After pondering for a long time, Ji Weining kissed Su Jin’an’s forehead.
I will protect her well.
Though she still didn’t fully understand the deeper meaning of the divine oracle, she felt that as long as she carried out these tasks, it would be enough. It didn’t seem to have any ill intentions toward her junior sister; rather, it seemed more intent on saving her.
It’s hard to have everything in this world, but what kind of situation could possibly lead her junior sister to bring calamity upon the world?
She refused to believe that her junior sister would do such a thing without reason, just as she now questioned why she had come to Qingheng Mountain.
Watching her grow step by step, Ji Weining began to understand a little perhaps someone had been preventing her junior sister from engaging in cultivation before, and there were still many, many things she needed to unravel.
By morning, Ji Weining had just finished preparing breakfast for Su Jin’an when she heard several people clamoring at her doorstep, repeatedly calling her name.
She immediately activated a soundproof barrier, set the breakfast aside, and opened the door. The noise instantly flooded in.
“Immortal Master, Immortal Master, we wish to seek your guidance on a matter,” said a portly man, pushing his son forward. He patted his son’s shoulder and added, “Immortal Master, do you think my son has the foundation for cultivation?”
Ji Weining said nothing, took half a step back, and with a wave of her hand, the door closed.
The people outside were instantly thrown back a dozen feet. With the soundproof barrier reactivated, Ji Weining no longer wanted to hear their voices.
She realized that someone had leaked her whereabouts.
Frowning slightly, Ji Weining quickly dismissed the thought and returned to the room as if nothing had happened.
“Senior Sister, what happened?” Su Jin’an had heard some commotion before it vanished. Noticing that the sun had risen quite high, she knew it was time to get up. Rubbing her eyes, she lazily sat up.
Ji Weining brought over the clothes she had picked out for Su Jin’an to wear that morning. “It’s nothing. I made breakfast for you; it’s on the table.”
“Junior Sister, change your clothes.”
Su Jin’an languidly extended her right hand, signaling for help. Ji Weining understood immediately, unfolding the garment and holding out one sleeve. She took Su Jin’an’s right hand and guided it in, quickly getting half the upper garment on.
Standing by the bedside, Ji Weining held Su Jin’an’s hand. “Time to get up.”
“Mm.” Su Jin’an’s eyes still held traces of drowsiness. Though she had felt unusually energetic the night before, she was still tired now.
Su Jin’an exerted some effort and was pulled up by Ji Weining, who quickly picked up the underskirt and tied it for her, then draped a thin gauze over her shoulders.
Stepping back to take a look at Su Jin’an’s full appearance, Ji Weining thought to herself, “Hmm, my taste is excellent, my junior sister is truly beautiful.”
