Drink This Bowl Of Dog Blood! [Quick Transmigration] - Chapter 15
The biting cold wind rattled the branches outside the window, making a creaking sound. Because of the first snow, lights flickered on in nearby houses, and faint cheers drifted through the air.
On the rooftop observation deck, Tan Qiuyi stood by the window. His pale chin was buried beneath a black scarf, and his eyes remained fixed on the snowflakes falling outside like delicate willow catkins. After a long while, his gaze shifted to the person beside him, and his lips curved upward slightly.
Sensing the look, Song Yanxing turned his head slightly and met his eyes. “What is it?”
Caught peeking, Tan Qiuyi did not look away. Instead, he looked earnestly at the man’s slightly tired face and asked, “Is it very tiring?”
Song Yanxing stared at him for a moment, appearing stunned at first, before lowering his eyes as the darkness within them deepened. Seeing no response, Tan Qiuyi worried he had crossed a line and made the man uncomfortable. He was about to apologize when a muffled voice slowly drifted from beside him, sounding as if it had been squeezed from deep within the man’s throat.
“Yes.”
Tan Qiuyi did not expect such an honest answer. His eyes widened as he looked at Song Yanxing. His fingers curled slightly at his side, and his heart skipped a beat.
Song Yanxing’s gaze fell on his face. He let out a soft sigh and whispered, “I am exhausted. So, can I borrow your shoulder to lean on?”
His voice was a bit raspy, which sounded strangely different to Tan Qiuyi, almost as if he were acting spoiled. Tan Qiuyi felt as if he had been transported back to that early morning in the hospital when the man had let him lean on his shoulder for hours without hesitation. His heart softened instantly.
“Yes,” Tan Qiuyi said, glancing around. “Then we should”
Tan Qiuyi froze because a warm presence suddenly appeared behind him like a koala. The man had moved behind him at some point, his hands tucked into his coat pockets. He leaned down and rested his chin on Tan Qiuyi’s shoulder, his warm breath brushing against Tan Qiuyi’s ear.
“Where did you all go to play in City C?” Song Yanxing asked with interest.
The hot breath accompanied his words, sometimes heavy and sometimes light. Tan Qiuyi trembled slightly, his fingertips brushing against his palms.
“We visited the museum and played indoor billiards,” Tan Qiuyi replied, though his mind was entirely elsewhere.
“Mmh,” Song Yanxing closed his eyes, taking in the other man’s scent.
Tan Qiuyi also relaxed, enjoying this moment of peace. Outside the window, the snow fell harder, accumulating to ankle depth on the ground.
“I saw that card,” the warm, mellow voice sounded in Tan Qiuyi’s ear.
Tan Qiuyi raised his left hand to rub his burning earlobe and turned his head slightly toward him, his breath catching. They were so close that he could see the thick eyelashes in the man’s deep eye sockets, the high bridge of his nose, and the lips that fans on Weibo always claimed were perfect for kissing.
“Do you want to go build a snowman?” Song Yanxing opened his eyes and met the dazed gaze of the person looking at him. His peach blossom eyes curved slightly. “That is also one of my wishes.”
Nuzzling so closely, Tan Qiuyi blinked and regained his composure. He pretended to be calm as he looked away toward the silver draped landscape outside. His heart stirred. “Is that okay?”
“Of course it is,” Song Yanxing straightened up and looked amused at the eager person before him. “However”
Tan Qiuyi’s heart thumped, and he grew nervous. It was funny, really; this would be his first time playing in the snow. While other children were playing during their youth, Tan Qiuyi was attending various interest classes and learning skills, networking, and etiquette as part of an elite education. He knew how to play golf, surf, and play billiards, but he had never built a snowman, flown a kite, or played house. His family rules taught him to exercise self restraint, avoid having weaknesses, and never give into useless emotions. He was told to always remember that interests came first.
Thinking of the text messages he had received from his mother recently, Tan Qiuyi’s fingers curled slightly.
“However, you must wear gloves to protect your hands,” Song Yanxing laughed, glancing down at Tan Qiuyi’s slender hands.
Hearing this, Tan Qiuyi’s fingers relaxed, and his heart followed suit. The stud in his left ear was a testament to his past rebellion. This time, he could do it too.
“Yes!” Tan Qiuyi nodded.
The two of them found gloves, put them on, and headed out into the snow. The other members of the house had gone to bed early for work after watching the snow for a bit, leaving only the two of them coming down from the roof to build their snowman. The small streetlights were on, and the light from nearby buildings provided plenty of brightness.
Watching the man carefully treading into the snow step by step, Song Yanxing, walking behind him, broke into a smile. Finding a suitable spot in the courtyard, they crouched down and began rolling snowballs.
10:00 AM
Zuo Yi, returning from his business trip with a black coat draped over his right arm, paused when he saw the ugly snowman next to the house before heading inside.
“Good morning! You are back. Come and have the breakfast Chef Song made!” Meng Can looked up from his bowl and greeted him.
Zuo Yi changed his shoes and said, “Good morning, I have already eaten.” His mind whirled as he asked, “Did you all build the snowman outside?”
Meng Can shook his head and replied, “I think Song and Qiuyi built it. I must say, it is quite ugly-cute!”
Hearing this, Zuo Yi nodded with unreadable emotion and returned to his room. He took out his phone, replied to a message from Tan’s mother, who had been concerned, and then informed his own parents of his decision.
Meanwhile, following the scandal, Song Yanxing’s swift and merciless legal actions caused his fan count to explode. His reputation among the general public soared, drawing even more eyes to Transfer Love and making it even more popular.
- “I started watching a dating show for the first time just for Song, and I am obsessed! What a beautiful couple they make. Their first meeting was just like an idol drama!”
- “Am I the only one who ships the cool guy and the blonde handsome guy when they are assigning tasks? Haha!”
- “I am looking forward to the career reveals in the fourth episode. Update quickly! Finally, confessing my love for my cool and beautiful wife Qiuyi!”
- “The drama of everyone rushing to give him water, Song’s behavior of taking a step back was really refreshing.”
- “Cycling by the sea is so romantic. I ship them so hard!”
- “I have a bold guess. Could Song and Qiuyi be ex-husbands? They act so naturally together.”
- “Replying to the above, I don’t think that is likely because Ye Hui’s attitude toward Song Yanxing is a bit strange, like he is struggling and feeling awkward”
For a time, discussions about who was whose ex-partner reached a fever pitch. Meanwhile, the house was preparing to reveal all the X identities. In the evening, everyone gathered in the living room.
Cheng Siyou, holding the mission card, read fluently: “The journey is about to enter a new stage. Do you feel a sense of closure or a lingering longing for your X? To help you understand your hearts and make an internal choice, all X identities will be revealed shortly.”
“After the reveal, everyone will write down the most memorable place associated with their X and then choose a guest other than their X for a date.”
