Don't You like Little Dogs? Now that I'm Taking Liberties, You're Suddenly Reluctant? - Chapter 60
The next day, the insiders who had participated in the gamble, along with many others closely monitoring Skeleton’s movements, learned the final result in an unexpected way. Furthermore, it came as an irrefutable official certification from the house himself.
At exactly nine o’clock in the morning, an encrypted social media account, one with significant weight in high-level circles but rarely active, was updated. The owner of the account was Jiang Si.
There was no image and no lengthy text. There was only one sentence, simplified to the extreme, yet it was like a nuclear bomb dropped into a calm lake, instantly detonating the entire circle:
“A bunch of idiots. Do you not know how good his stamina is?”
Posted by: Jiang Si (Skeleton).
The timestamp clearly showed the posting time as just a few minutes ago.
First came a brief, almost stagnant silence. Everyone who saw the status update rubbed their eyes, doubting if they were hallucinating or if the account had been hacked. However, the unique verification badge representing identity and authority, along with the poster’s name, told them clearly that this was real. It was Jiang Si himself.
Then came a tidal wave of comments and private messages that nearly crashed the server backend:
“Anonymous User, Hound”: I, holy crap! Fourth Brother? Is it really him?
“Anonymous User, Shadow”: Wait! What did I just see? “Him”? Who is “him”? Who? Night Brother? This amount of information, my CPU is literally fried!
“Anonymous User, Fang”: So, the gamble was real! And Fourth Brother is personally admitting it? Is he the one on the bottom? Holy crap! Night Brother is a legend!
“Anonymous User, Black Mamba”: (Reply to Fang) You are missing the point! This is not just an admission; this is clearly complaining plus showing off! “Stamina is too good,” help, I have images in my head now!
“Anonymous User, Vulture”: @FengJun @FengJun @FengJun @FengJun @FengJun @FengJun Brother! My condolences! You must have lost blood in that bet, hahaha! (This comment was immediately liked to the top).
“Anonymous User, Silver Fox”: So that “S” who placed a heavy bet on Pei Ye earlier, could it be? The more I think about it, the more terrifying it gets! Fourth Brother, this move is truly heart-killing!
“Anonymous User, Fangirl 1”: I do not believe it! I do not believe it! Fourth Brother, how could you? My dream is shattered.
“Anonymous User, Fangirl 2”: Even so, Fourth Brother and Night Brother, they actually seem a bit sweet to ship? (Whispers)
“Kitchen Man (Verified, Skeleton Adjutant)”: Please everyone in the comments remain calm.
“Feng Jun (Verified, Skeleton First Team Vice-Captain)”: “—”
Within a single hour, the comment section of Jiang Si’s update completely exploded. There were those shocked into incoherence, those who realized the truth and began replaying the gamble with deep regret, those with broken hearts, and those quietly shipping the couple. Countless people began frantically tagging Feng Jun and other known participants. The scene was momentarily out of control.
This status update was screenshotted and forwarded countless times in a short period, becoming the single most explosive and perception-shattering news of the month within the circle.
Inside the Skeleton organization, the atmosphere was even more subtle. On the training ground, members of the first squad, who were originally warming up, received the news almost simultaneously.
Feng Jun tapped his communicator. After just one look, he let out a piercing wail and collapsed directly onto the ground, pounding the floor with his hands. “No! Fourth Brother! My money! My bonus! It is all gone! No!”
He had previously heard Pei Ye say it, but he had held onto a tiny bit of hope, constantly comforting himself and refusing to believe it. But seeing Jiang Si’s personal admission, his last shred of hope was completely extinguished.
Viper was maintaining his custom pistol. Hearing the news, his finger slipped, nearly causing a misfire. He silently put away the gun and patted Feng Jun’s shoulder with a tone of mixed sympathy and gloating. “My condolences.”
Blood Slaughter scratched his prickly short hair and said to Cang Jun in a muffled voice, “Captain, so, that kid won?”
The “win” he understood seemed to have little to do with the gamble and more to do with the establishment of a certain status.
Cang Jun silently closed his communicator and nodded. “In a way.”
There was no expression on his face, but a very faint smile flashed in his eyes. He glanced at Ghost, who was quietly wiping a dagger nearby. Sensing the gaze, Ghost looked up and gave him a slight nod.
“Rest today,” Cang Jun announced. “Feng Jun, you can go calculate your specific losses now.”
Feng Jun cried even harder.
In the organization’s headquarters, members on various floors and departments did not dare to discuss it openly, but their exchanged glances were filled with meanings like “just as expected,” “legendary,” and “it had to be Night Brother.” Some who had previously complained about Pei Ye’s rapid rise completely shut their mouths now. A person whom Fourth Brother would publicly certify in this manner had a status and importance that required no further questioning.
Inside the penthouse, heavy curtains isolated the noise outside. When Pei Ye walked into the bedroom carrying warm water, Jiang Si was leaning against the headboard, leisurely reading the constantly jumping comments on his tablet. A faint, almost pleasant curve played on the corner of his mouth.
“Master, the water you wanted.”
Pei Ye handed over the glass. His gaze accidentally swept across the tablet screen, seeing the explicit comments and the countless tags for Feng Jun. His ears began to turn red uncontrollably again.
Master was doing it again.
Jiang Si took the glass, took a sip, and looked up at him. He turned the tablet screen toward Pei Ye, his tone clearly teasing. “Look, your great achievements.”
Pei Ye’s eyes fell on words like “stamina is too good” and “sore waist.” His cheeks also turned a faint red. He lowered his head, his voice tight. “It is, it is my fault.”
Jiang Si laughed softly, put down the tablet, and reached out to pinch Pei Ye’s chin, forcing him to look up. “What is at fault? I think it is very good.”
His fingertips pressed slightly, rubbing the skin of Pei Ye’s jaw. His eyes were deep, carrying a post-satiety laziness and possessiveness. “My little dog should have been the most powerful from the start.”
These words were like an electric current, instantly piercing through all of Pei Ye’s shyness and insecurity. He looked at Jiang Si’s face so close to his, saw those eyes that were usually cold but now filled with a smile, and felt his heart fill up until it ached.
He leaned down and reverently kissed Jiang Si’s lips. It was no longer a cautious touch, but a deep kiss filled with burning heat and endless love. It was a declaration and a promise.
When the kiss ended, both of them were breathing a bit hard.
Jiang Si pushed him away slightly and rubbed his own lower back. His tone carried a real complaint, but it sounded like something else. “However, next time, pay attention to moderation.”
Pei Ye nodded immediately. “Yes, Master. I will pay attention.”
But the fire burning in his eyes clearly showed that while he could pay attention, moderation would likely be very difficult.
But it did not matter, because no matter what happened in the end, his Master would always indulge him. He would indulge his boldness, his greed, and his possession, while also drowning in all of Pei Ye’s deep-rooted, hidden obsessions.
