Chapter 94: Extra 2 — Meeting the Parents: Pink Tail and the Shirt
Chen Kongqing was being held high up.
With his legs firmly restrained, no matter how he struggled or swayed, it was useless. This feeling of being suspended was quite unsettling—he felt completely insecure. To make matters worse, whenever he looked down, Xu Jingmo was staring at him with that look.
The rabbit instinctively tried to curl into a ball, his fingers pinching the man’s hard shoulders. He emphasized again, “Put me down, quickly.”
In response, his backside was met with a few firm, punishing swats. It wasn’t just swatting; it was kneading and teasing.
Chen Kongqing felt like he was about to explode, his entire face turning a shade of red that looked like it might drip blood. “Xu Jingmo!”
Xu Jingmo didn’t listen at all.
Kongqing felt he had truly spoiled Xu Jingmo over the last two years. Originally, he thought Xu Jingmo was pitiable because he was always so cautious and afraid of loss, so he would basically satisfy any request Xu Jingmo made. At the beginning, Xu Jingmo didn’t even dare to ask for anything.
He wasn’t sure when it started, but Xu Jingmo had changed. He became more… well, his true nature was exposed. He didn’t feel embarrassed at all.
“Baby, I bought a pink tail last time, and you haven’t worn it yet. Why don’t we try it today?” Xu Jingmo’s hands were still applying pressure, his brow arching slightly. “Wearing your husband’s shirt with a tail—you’ll definitely look beautiful, baby.”
Without waiting for a reaction, Xu Jingmo carried the rabbit over to the edge of the bed. They tumbled together into the large, soft mattress. Chen Kongqing was immediately surrounded by the familiar scent of Earl Grey tea. His previously empty heart was instantly filled.
Xu Jingmo kissed his eyelashes and got up to get the “tail.”
Over the years, their “play” had become increasingly varied. Chen Kongqing wasn’t even sure who started it.
Okay… it was him.
Back then, Gao Tianyou had a momentary lapse in judgment and sent him some adult toys. They weren’t heavy-duty—just a pair of rabbit ears and a very uniquely shaped white garment. It was so unique that when Chen Kongqing first unfolded it, it felt like two strips of cloth; he couldn’t even call it underwear. He remembered having to search for a tutorial on his phone the first time he put it on.
He still remembered the scene when he wore that outfit, put on the ears, and let Xu Jingmo into the room. Xu Jingmo didn’t have much of an expression then; he was abnormally calm and told him seriously that he didn’t need to do all that. He even said wearing such things must be uncomfortable.
Chen Kongqing didn’t feel uncomfortable at all, so he awkwardly asked, “I’m fine. Do you… not like it?”
He remembered Xu Jingmo remained expressionless, only saying carefully, “I like it, but I’m worried you’ll feel it’s inappropriate.”
“I don’t think it’s inappropriate. I like it! I think we can try everything.”
Mhm… those were the words he had said while wrapping his arms around Xu Jingmo’s neck. And after that… everything spiraled out of control.
Now, there were several boxes in the house just to store these items, and the collection was growing. Xu Jingmo was a man of his word—from accessories to dresses, outfits, silk stockings, then whips, clamps, ball gags… it became more and more excessive.
Chen Kongqing flushed with shame and wrapped himself in the quilt. Xu Jingmo returned with the tail. It was a beautiful piece, fluffy and softer than the actual cat’s tail. The key was the color—not a tacky pink, but a very pale, delicate rose.
Kongqing didn’t know how he ended up cooperating and coming out from under the covers, nor how he ended up spreading his legs.
“Be… gentler,” the rabbit panted, his face burning.
Xu Jingmo looked up, reaching out a hand to caress Kongqing’s cheek. His movements were gentle and soothing. “Okay. Relax, baby.”
The rabbit’s eyelashes were wet from being teased, his forehead covered in fine beads of sweat. He involuntarily bit his lower lip. Xu Jingmo’s thumb slowly pressed against his lips, rescuing the tender skin from his teeth.
“Do you like wearing Gege’s shirt?” “Will you wear it again next time?” “Why did you wear it secretly?”
…
Chen Kongqing felt very “full,” as if he might break. Xu Jingmo was still whispering in his ear: “Did you miss Gege, so you wore his shirt?”
The flushed rabbit was dazed, his brain unable to function. Somehow, after catching his breath, he blurted out the truth: “I missed you, Gege.”
Chen Kongqing felt the devastating impact of those words firsthand.
…
The Next Day.
Chen Kongqing almost arrived late for class. When he was a student, he always arrived at the last second; now that he was a teacher, he was still doing the same. It was all Xu Jingmo’s fault!
Chen Kongqing angrily decided to ignore Xu Jingmo for the entire morning. However, his schedule was packed, so he truly didn’t have time to check his phone anyway. It wasn’t until after lunch that he opened his phone, which had been on “Do Not Disturb.”
There were many messages, but he immediately saw the ones from Su Jingjing.
Mom: [Xiaoman, I’m coming over today.] Mom: [It’s okay if you’re busy. I won’t arrive until evening.] Mom: [I brought you some salted duck eggs. I made them myself; you love them.]
Chen Kongqing replied quickly: [Okay, Mom. Where are you getting off? I’ll come pick you up.]
A minute later. Mom: [Don’t go to the trouble. I’ll just take the subway.] Mom: [I know the way; you’ve taken me before.]
Su Jingjing had stayed in Kunming before, in the apartment Chen Kongqing had recently bought. Usually, Kongqing lived with Xu Jingmo, so his own apartment was empty except for his weekly cleaning visits.
Mom: [By the way.] Mom: [Um, is he free?] Mom: [If he has time tonight, tell him to come over for dinner.]
Chen Kongqing knew exactly who “he” was. His heart raced as his fingers flew across the keyboard: [He’s here. I’ll let him know.] Azurite: [Mom, just make something simple. Don’t tire yourself out.]
He then opened his pinned chat with Xu Jingmo. The man had sent a flurry of messages throughout the morning.
Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [Baby, are you done with class?] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [I’m off today. What do you want for lunch?] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [I’ll bring it to you.] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [Why are you ignoring me, baby?] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [Didn’t you say you missed me last night?]
Azurite: […]
It was an instant reply. Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [Just finished class?] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [I stewed some beef brisket. I’ll bring some over.]
Azurite: [No need.] Azurite: [Get ready to receive a royal guest.] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [To pick you up? Didn’t you say you had afternoon classes?] Azurite: [My Mom! She said she wants to see you. She’s inviting you for dinner!]
The screen went silent for a long time. Chen Kongqing could guess that Xu Jingmo was stunned. After all, Xu Jingmo had prepared himself for a lifetime of not being accepted by Su Jingjing.
Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [I’ll go buy a necklace for her now. Does she like pearls or gold?] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [Never mind, I’ll buy two.] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [Should I dress younger or more mature?]
Seeing Xu Jingmo like this, Chen Kongqing couldn’t help but smile. [Just act normal.] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [What defines normal?] Mein Mann [Pink Heart]: [I’ll video call you in a bit; you help me choose an outfit.]
…
That evening, Chen Kongqing rushed to his apartment immediately after class. Xu Jingmo was already waiting downstairs, not daring to go up alone.
In the garage, Kongqing saw Xu Jingmo wearing a jacket he had helped choose—youthful but casual. Xu Jingmo showed him the jewelry.
“How are these two?”
Kongqing was drawn to the high-quality pearl necklace. “Beautiful!” Then he saw the gold one and his eyes widened. “This one is a bit… thick, isn’t it?”
Xu Jingmo looked conflicted. “It is, but I was worried a thin one would look stingy, so I bought a big one.”
Chen Kongqing looked at the heavy gold chain, thinking to himself: It’s definitely not stingy; it’s so bold it’s almost aggressive. “Big is fine. My mom will like it, don’t worry.”
Xu Jingmo’s gaze then fell on Kongqing’s slender neck. There were faint pink marks near the collar. Not obvious, but visible up close. His Adam’s apple bobbed. “Will your mother see?”
“Um.” Kongqing looked down but couldn’t see anything from that angle. Xu Jingmo loved biting his neck, always leaving marks as if he wanted the world to see. This was the first time the man had acted so cowardly about it.
Kongqing teased him, “What can we do? You’re the one who bit me.”
Xu Jingmo looked genuinely worried. Kongqing softened and comforted him, “It’s just a little bit. My mom has presbyopia; she won’t see clearly.”
The dinner actually went exceptionally smoothly. Su Jingjing asked basic questions and what food he liked, though she didn’t accept the necklaces. After dinner, she sent Kongqing downstairs to buy fruit, clearly wanting a moment alone with Xu Jingmo.
In the kitchen, Su Jingjing spoke as Xu Jingmo helped clean. “Normally, Xiaoman stays at your place, right?”
“Yes, my place is closer to the institute.”
Su Jingjing nodded, then asked how to use the dishwasher. As Xu Jingmo showed her, she sighed about getting old and not keeping up with the times. “My son’s younger brother mentioned interning at an AI company… I don’t understand it at all.”
“It’s alright, Auntie,” Xu Jingmo said gently. “If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask me or Xiaoman.”
Su Jingjing stood up, holding her back. “I am learning. I’m also learning to look at your relationship properly.”
Xu Jingmo stiffened.
“Don’t be nervous,” she smiled. “I didn’t like you at first—not just because you’re a man, but because of the age gap. I thought you were tricking him because he’s so young.”
“Auntie, I would never trick him. I am sincere.”
Su Jingjing sighed. “I see that now. Xiaoman is truly happy. I’ve always felt guilty toward him. When his father died, I had to work away from home. He raised himself mostly. But now, he smiles more. He’s talked to me more, and he looks healthier. I can feel it. So, I will try to accept you. But you must keep him this happy.”
“Auntie, that’s my duty,” Xu Jingmo said, his voice tinged with a hint of regret. “If I hadn’t left back then, he wouldn’t have suffered so much alone. It was my fault.”
“You were just a child then too,” she sighed. “You don’t need to give me expensive things. Just take care of him, make sure he isn’t tired or hungry, and I won’t oppose you being together.”
…
The conversation ended before Kongqing returned. He didn’t know what they talked about, but he was thrilled when his mother suggested Xu Jingmo stay the night since it was late.
When Kongqing tried to act modest by saying there were no extra rooms, Su Jingjing laughed. “Why? Don’t you two sleep together every day anyway?”
Both men turned bright red.
That night, in the master bedroom, Kongqing rested a leg over Xu Jingmo’s abs. “Happy? My mom’s attitude changed so much.”
“Happy,” Xu Jingmo said, pulling the soft rabbit into his chest. He didn’t tell Kongqing the details of the conversation; he didn’t want him to dwell on past loneliness. He only said, “Your mother loves you very much.”
“I know,” Kongqing whispered, hugging the man’s waist. “And I know you love me too.”
