Chapter 95: Extra 3 — Island Honeymoon: A Large Glass Window Before the Bathtub
Not long after Xu Jingmo and Su Jingjing met, the parents of both sides had a simple meeting. It wasn’t a grand production; it just so happened that Xu Jingmo’s parents were visiting Kunming, so everyone sat down for a meal together.
Afterward, life returned to its tranquil rhythm. Chen Kongqing was busy with classes and experiments, while Xu Jingmo was preoccupied with hospital shifts and reports. It wasn’t until National Day that they both finally had time for a proper vacation.
They had actually registered their marriage abroad a year ago. Xu Jingmo had handled everything—the process was somewhat tedious, but Chen Kongqing didn’t have to worry at all. He just provided his identification, they both showed up once, and the marriage certificate was in hand. Although it wasn’t a domestic document, it brought a great deal of peace to the ever-anxious Xu Jingmo.
However, they had never found the time for a honeymoon. They kept putting it off until today.
Chen Kongqing didn’t want to travel abroad. His two years in California had left him feeling a bit restless with international travel. During that time, he and Xu Jingmo had visited Munich—where the man had studied—and traveled through several European countries. He didn’t want to spend his honeymoon in a foreign land again.
Xu Jingmo scrolled through a map on his phone. “Is there anywhere else you want to go?”
“Hmm…” Chen Kongqing lay in the man’s arms. The heating was on at home, so he was only wearing a pair of comfortable athletic shorts. “Black Cat Sheriff” was sprawled across his legs. The cat’s fur was pitch black and shiny, creating a sharp contrast against the pale, fair skin of the thighs beneath him.
Xu Jingmo glanced sideways, his Adam’s apple bobbing.
“How about we go to the seaside?” Chen Kongqing suggested, lifting his head from Xu Jingmo’s abs, his eyes sparkling with excitement. “We haven’t been to the ocean together yet.”
“Alright, the seaside it is,” Xu Jingmo replied, reaching out to press Kongqing’s head back into his chest. “An island? Domestic or international?”
“Domestic, definitely,” Chen Kongqing said, obediently leaning back. The abs were a bit firm, but they had a nice “feel” to them, so he unceremoniously reached out to give them a few squeezes. “Do you really want to eat ‘white person food’ again?”
Xu Jingmo let him knead his muscles without resistance.
“When you were in Germany, didn’t you find their food hard to eat? California cuisine is really… not great,” Chen Kongqing couldn’t help but complain. He had lost nearly ten pounds abroad, getting so thin that Xu Jingmo insisted on taking him for a full physical. Of course, there was nothing wrong; he simply couldn’t stomach the local food and was too busy with school to eat properly.
“It wasn’t great. For a while, the sight of a sausage gave me a headache,” Xu Jingmo admitted, cupping Kongqing’s face.
“Exactly. So, no overseas trips.” Chen Kongqing became more daring, sliding his hand beneath the man’s dark pajamas.
Xu Jingmo arched an eyebrow. “You want to again?”
Well… they had just finished a round this morning.
Chen Kongqing’s ears warmed. “What do you mean… can’t I just want to touch you? I don’t ‘want to,’ I just want to lie here.”
Xu Jingmo’s grip tightened, firmly pinching the few ounces of flesh he had managed to help the rabbit gain back. “You can just lie there. I’ll do the work.”
Chen Kongqing: “…”
Xu Jingmo continued: “Is that okay, Xiaoman?”
“Stop talking, the cat is right here,” Chen Kongqing muttered, feeling strangely like a parent saying the kids weren’t asleep yet.
“The cat?” Xu Jingmo glanced at the feline. “He’s turned into a pig spirit.”
The cat seemed to understand, narrowing his golden eyes and yawning to show his sharp teeth. “Meow.”
Chen Kongqing stopped touching the abs and reached for the cat instead, covering his pointed ears. “Bad Daddy, don’t listen to him.” The cat rubbed against his palm, letting out a high-pitched, “Meow~~”
Kongqing got up from the sofa, carrying the heavy cat. “Daddy is taking you to lunch.” The cat, nestled in the rabbit’s arms, seemed to stare at Xu Jingmo with a look of smug triumph.
…
After deciding on the island, Xu Jingmo took charge—booking tickets, hotels, and checking weather reports. Since they would be away for half a month, they had to settle the cat.
Gao Tianyou had offered, but his own cat fell ill. In the end, it was Zhou Mujun who stepped up. He was single, had no pets, and was free for the holiday.
The day before departure, Zhou Mujun arrived excitedly. “Hey little treasure, haven’t seen you in a while! Why are you fatter? You’re going to turn into a semi-truck.” The cat rolled its eyes and climbed his cat tree.
Chen Kongqing was trying on hats—two baseball caps, same style, different colors. He wore a navy one and put a black one on Xu Jingmo.
“Your head is too big,” Kongqing muttered, adjusting the strap. “There, it looks good. We can take photos at the beach.”
Zhou Mujun, now holding the cat, stood behind them. “Tsk tsk. Do you two have to do this in front of a 32-year-old bachelor and a neutered cat?”
Xu Jingmo adjusted his brim and glanced back. “We aren’t doing it in front of you. Our backs are turned.”
After Zhou Mujun left with the cat, Chen Kongqing gossiped: “After all these years, why hasn’t Dr. Zhou found a partner? He’s handsome, funny, and tall.”
“With that frivolous attitude of his, who would want to date him?” Xu Jingmo replied while packing a suitcase.
“No way, Dr. Zhou is quite handsome,” Kongqing blurted out.
Xu Jingmo stopped folding clothes. He fixed his gaze on Chen Kongqing. “Handsome?”
The rabbit hadn’t sensed the danger yet. “Yeah, his features are very well-defined. Don’t you think?”
He turned around to face the man and finally saw those deep, narrow eyes. The atmosphere shifted.
“How well-defined?” Xu Jingmo asked softly. There was a distinct scent of “vinegar” (jealousy) in the air. “You like that type?”
“No… no.” Chen Kongqing scratched his head. “I like your looks.”
“But you said he’s handsome.”
“He’s your best friend, I was just being polite for your sake!” Chen Kongqing felt like a genius for that answer.
“Is that so?” Xu Jingmo raised a brow. “I haven’t asked—what is Xiaoman’s ideal type?”
“Exactly like you. I only like you.” To seal the deal, the rabbit ran over, squeezed Xu Jingmo’s hand, and gave him a sweet kiss on the cheek.
The rabbit escaped a “punishment” for now. However, poor Zhou Mujun wasn’t so lucky. Just as he settled into bed, his phone buzzed with messages from Xu Jingmo:
Lnk: [Don’t come to my house anymore.] Lnk: [If you must, dress like a beggar first.] Lnk: [He Yunxiao messaged me two days ago.] Lnk: [I told him.]
Zhou Mujun sat bolt upright: [Told him what?!] Lnk: [Your home address.] Zhou Mujun: [Xu Jingmo, I’ll kill you!]
…
Chen Kongqing knew nothing of this. He woke up from a nap on the plane and they were at the coast.
The hotel suite Xu Jingmo booked was incredible. When the curtains were drawn, the turquoise sea was right there. Kongqing wanted to run to the beach, but he heard the sound of bells.
Xu Jingmo was holding a collar with a small bell that chimed with a hint of ambiguity.
“I… I want to play at the beach,” Kongqing said weakly. “We’re here for a honeymoon.”
“This is part of the honeymoon, baby.” Xu Jingmo pulled out a white lace waistband from nowhere.
Chen Kongqing chose to play dead. He flopped onto the bed. “I’m so sleepy. I don’t want to see the sea anymore. I want to sleep.”
He realized too late that lying on the bed was a mistake. It was a direct invitation. The man knelt over him. “But you slept the whole flight.”
“Husband will take you to have a bath, okay?”
The bathroom featured a massive bathtub facing a full-length mirror. Chen Kongqing’s face exploded in red. “No… no.”
“We have to wash, baby.” Xu Jingmo lifted him up.
The bathtub was already filled with warm water and rose petals. Chen Kongqing was stunned. “When did you prepare the water?”
“I had the hotel prepare it in advance. It’s temperature-controlled.”
Chen Kongqing’s face burned even hotter. No wonder the girl at the front desk was smiling at him earlier. Aaargh.
“Qingqing, we have to wash here very thoroughly,” Xu Jingmo whispered, his fingers moving beneath the water. The rabbit was already shaking like a leaf.
After a long time in the water, Xu Jingmo wrapped him in a dry towel and carried him to the full-length mirror. The towel slipped away.
“Qingqing, don’t praise other people anymore,” Xu Jingmo growled, biting the rabbit’s reddened earlobe. “Men or women—you aren’t allowed to praise anyone but me.”
