- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 41 - [Sad Puppy.jpg]
During the meeting, Wang Xinghe was worried.
He wasn’t naturally someone who enjoyed being in the spotlight.
But…
This was his brother-in-law’s company, after all.
If he didn’t help, his older sister wouldn’t be happy either, right?
“Everyone else is dismissed. Sales Group One and Xinghe, please stay.”
“Alright.” The other company personnel left the conference room in succession.
Left behind were Lin Xiu, Chen Junsheng, Li Li, and three other members from Li Li’s team.
The huge conference room, built to seat fifty people, now only held a few of them.
“Gather and move closer to the front,” Chen Junsheng instructed.
Li Li led her team members forward. “Xinghe, you move to the front.”
Wang Xinghe could only sit in the first seat, with Li Li beside him, and the remaining three team members seated next to her.
Chen Junsheng glanced sideways at Wang Xinghe, subtly twirling his pen.
“Manager Li, three days to set up a live broadcast room—do you think that’s feasible in terms of time?” Chen Junsheng got straight to the point without wasting any time.
Li Li pondered for three seconds before nodding gravely. “Three days. I will try my best, but I just consulted with some colleagues in the industry.”
“The streaming equipment and the physical hardware for the broadcast room are easy to source. However, the sales pitch scripts, the positioning of the streaming traffic flow, the costume/makeup/set design, and the atmosphere enhancers for the live broadcast all need preparation. My team members and I will do our utmost.”
Lin Xiu admired Li Li’s drive. Every company has one or two such ‘Iron Ladies.’
Entrusting the development of the streaming industry to Li Li was clearly a very wise choice.
Chen Junsheng’s smile widened. “Manager Li, once the live broadcast room is on the right track, your original salary will remain unchanged, and live broadcast sales will be subject to a commission based on sales volume for you and your team. Good luck!”
“Thank you, CEO Chen. Thank you, CEO Lin. And thank you, CEO Chen, for lending us someone.”
Li Li turned her gaze to Wang Xinghe. “With Xinghe joining us, I feel much more confident.”
Everyone looked at him. Wang Xinghe gave a slightly constrained smile. “I will do my best to cooperate.”
Wang Xinghe returned to his office.
“Ding—” His phone chimed with a notification.
Wang Xinghe opened his phone and checked it.
[Lu Jingze: Xinghe Ge~ Do you want to have lunch together~]
Wang Xinghe’s long, slender fingers scrolled up.
Last night at 11:35 PM I have accepted your friend request. We can now start chatting.
Wang Xinghe lowered his long, curled eyelashes.
[Wang Xinghe: No.]
“Ding-ding—” Lu Jingze replied instantly.
[Lu Jingze: [Sad Puppy.jpg.]]
The image showed a Shiba Inu with its head down in the snow, looking hit by a snowball and dejected.
It looked utterly pathetic.
Wang Xinghe ignored it and clicked on the new group he had just been added to.
[Sales Group One, Fighting Aces]
[Li Li: Welcome to our new member, the specially invited, super-strong external support, Wang Xinghe~]
[Zhou Lin: Welcome, welcome~ A warm welcome~]
[Zhao Na: Excited! Excited! Welcome to our handsome guy’s strong entry~]
[Liu Ying: Welcome, welcome~ Welcome, welcome~]
Wang Xinghe felt a little awkward looking at the all-female group, but he replied politely nonetheless.
[Wang Xinghe: Thank you, everyone. I will definitely cooperate fully. I hope the live broadcast expansion goes smoothly.]
[Zhao Na: Hehe~ Wishing Sales One group great success again!]
Wang Xinghe didn’t reply again, nor did he know how to respond; he wasn’t accustomed to cheering others on.
He scrolled to Xu Ye’s chat window.
It was still stopped at the message where Xu Ye wished him a Happy New Year.
Wang Xinghe thought for a moment and typed.
[Wang Xinghe: The noodle shop is temporarily closed for business. Sorry, you may need to find a new part-time job.]
[Xu Ye: Ah, it’s okay, Brother Wang! Hehe, be sure to let me know when the noodle shop reopens, and I’ll definitely stop by~]
Seeing Xu Ye’s reply, Wang Xinghe quietly breathed a sigh of relief. Xu Ye was a very easygoing and kind kid.
He lowered his eyes, and his fair, slender fingers tapped on the keyboard.
[Wang Xinghe: I will. Wishing you a smooth graduation~]
The busy morning passed quickly.
It was noon.
“Knock, knock~” A knock sounded at the door.
Thinking it was Lu Wang, he said without lifting his head, “Please come in.”
“Da-da-da—” The sound of leather shoes approached.
Wang Xinghe belatedly realized it wasn’t Lu Wang.
The moment he turned his head, he met Chen Junsheng’s somewhat deep eyes.
Wang Xinghe stood up. “Brother-in-Law.”
Chen Junsheng nodded slightly. “Let’s have lunch together. I’ve asked your sister to join us.”
Wang Xinghe’s eyes darted away. “My sister… probably doesn’t want to share a table with me.”
“I won’t go.”
Chen Junsheng sighed. “Let’s wait until her pregnancy is stable before saying anything.”
Wang Xinghe’s eyes widened in surprise. “My sister is pregnant?!”
“Yes!” Chen Junsheng’s face still wore its faint, smiling mask.
Wang Xinghe, however, couldn’t help but feel a little overjoyed. “That’s wonderful…”
He was going to be an uncle.
He needed to save money to buy a gold lock necklace and a gold bracelet for his little nephew or niece.
“So, where do you want to eat today? I’ll accompany you,” Chen Junsheng only said this as a formality.
He wouldn’t dare actually eat alone with Wang Xinghe.
“No need, Brother-in-Law. Please spend more time with my sister,” Wang Xinghe declined.
Chen Junsheng nodded. “Eat whatever you want. You’ve finally come to the capital, and your brother-in-law can still afford to treat you. Don’t worry about saving money for me.”
“Mhm, thank you, Brother-in-Law.” Wang Xinghe saw Chen Junsheng off.
He leaned back in his chair.
“Knock, knock~” The knocking sounded again.
“Xinghe~ Let’s go~ I’m taking you to eat goose stew in an iron pot today. There’s a place that makes it super delicious,” Lu Wang excitedly introduced the dish.
Wang Xinghe looked at Lu Wang. “It’s not near the university town again, is it?”
“Correct answer~ No prize, though~” Lu Wang smiled brightly.
Wang Xinghe couldn’t refuse his kind offer.
The two drove to the vicinity of the university town again.
This time, they headed straight to the fourth floor, to the restaurant that served goose stew in an iron pot.
Lu Wang’s BMW led the way, with Lu Jingze, who had switched to a low-key black Maybach, following behind.
He Zheng sighed as he drove. “Boss, according to my investigation, Lu Wang is heterosexual and already has a fiancée. You don’t need to worry too much.”
Lu Jingze, sitting in the passenger seat, looked at the single word ‘No’ that Wang Xinghe had replied with on his phone screen.
He was a little distracted. “Do you think if I orchestrated a heroic rescue, and perhaps even got a little hurt myself, he would forgive me?”
Since He Zheng had handled Wang Xinghe’s files, he understood the situation best.
“Boss, I don’t think that’s a good idea,” He Zheng suggested sincerely.
Based on his research into cases of severe depression, if the person were to discover that the rescue was deceitful.
The backlash would likely be tenfold, dragging them completely into the abyss.
“Boss, he needs genuine salvation. Don’t lie to him again,” He Zheng said earnestly.
He Zheng was not one to meddle, but he was very clear that half the reason he had been able to stay by Lu Jingze’s side for two years was Wang Xinghe.
He was very grateful to Wang Xinghe for giving Lu Jingze a sense of humanity.
Before Wang Xinghe, Lu Jingze was truly an unpredictable tyrant.
He wished more than anyone that they could eventually be together.
