- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 40 - Asking for One Person
Wang Xinghe arrived at the company punctually.
Lu Wang greeted him. “Morning, Xinghe~”
“Morning, Brother Wang,” Wang Xinghe responded with a smile.
“We have a meeting this morning,” Lu Wang shook his phone. “Did you see the group message?”
Wang Xinghe nodded. “Yes, I did.”
Lu Wang rubbed his eyes. “Brother Chen wants to start live streaming and plans to recruit some experienced people. After all, if the online sales channel can be opened, it will be another expansion for the company.”
Wang Xinghe nodded. With the rise of online live streaming platforms like Douyin, this had become a high-revenue sales channel for many businesses.
“I think, instead of looking for streamers, you should just go. With that face, the live stream room would definitely explode,” Lu Wang yawned.
“But Brother Chen strongly objected, saying he wouldn’t force you to do something you don’t like.”
Wang Xinghe’s eyes widened. “Me?”
“I’ve never done that…” Wang Xinghe was the type who spoke very little. He took a personality test in college and was a typical INFP.
Speaking lines in front of a camera would probably make him suffocate.
“Aiya! We can let a streamer do the talking, and you just stand in the back as a backdrop. Everyone looks at faces these days. The better you look, the higher salary you demand. It’s too hard to find someone cost-effective.”
Lu Wang seemed to have not slept well and yawned again.
Wang Xinghe looked at the coffee machine in the company’s pantry. “Have a cup of coffee. I’ll make it for you.”
Lu Wang nodded, his eyes lighting up. “Sure! Thanks!”
In the pantry, Lu Wang sat on the sofa with his eyes closed. Wang Xinghe poured coffee beans into the coffee machine.
He frothed the milk and asked him, “With sugar or coconut milk?”
“Either is fine. Anything is fine with me.” As a working man, as long as it was coffee, bitter or sweet, it didn’t matter.
Wang Xinghe made him a cup of Coconutto Latte based on his own preference, without extra sugar.
He handed him one cup and made another for himself.
Lu Wang took the paper cup and took a sip. “Hmm? This is super delicious!”
He gulped down the entire cup and handed the empty one back. “Another cup.”
Wang Xinghe looked at him chugging the coffee, a dark line forming on his forehead. It was coffee, not water.
But he obediently made him another cup.
“Thanks. I’ll treat you to lunch,” Lu Wang had a tough, clean appearance, and his smile was sincere. When he spoke, it felt like he genuinely wanted to treat someone, with no mere formality intended.
Wang Xinghe quickly waved his hand. “No need, no need. You’re too kind.”
“Come on, let’s go to the meeting,” Lu Wang yawned and walked ahead with his coffee.
When Wang Xinghe and Lu Wang entered the conference room, many people were already seated.
Wang Xinghe didn’t recognize most of them.
After all, there had been no company dinner or formal introductions of everyone’s roles since the company opened.
But news about Wang Xinghe had spread internally.
“You sit here with me,” Lu Wang led Wang Xinghe to the third seat.
The four seats in front, across the table, were empty, and the middle seat was also empty.
The surrounding glances were all focused on Wang Xinghe.
Even a few female college students who were interning as observers were secretly taking pictures.
It was no wonder they were so enthusiastic; Wang Xinghe was simply too good-looking.
Not long after they sat down, Chen Junsheng’s voice drifted in from outside the conference room.
“Yes, for now, I plan to try live streaming. The cost isn’t too high anyway; phones and equipment are cheap.”
Another slightly deeper voice said after a long pause, “Hmm, that might work.”
“Swoosh—” The sliding door of the conference room was pulled open.
Everyone looked uniformly at Chen Junsheng. The interns and the receptionist had already stood up first.
Some older employees also stood up one after another.
“Good morning, Mr. Chen. Good morning, Mr. Lin.”
“Everyone sit down, don’t be so formal,” Lin Xiu was the largest investor in this company. He rarely came in person, and his secretary had acted as his representative on the opening day.
“Lin Xiu, you sit in the main seat,” Chen Junsheng pointed to the main chair at the head of the table.
Lin Xiu waved his hand. “No need. You’re the boss here.”
Then, he walked over and sat in the first empty seat on the side.
Wang Xinghe, sitting across from him, looked at the slightly stern and aloof man who exuded mature charm, feeling a sense of familiarity.
But he couldn’t recall where he knew him from right away.
It seemed his gaze lingered on Lin Xiu’s face for too long, and Lin Xiu looked up at the person across the table.
Lin Xiu’s eyes widened slightly, clearly amazed.
Their eyes met. Wang Xinghe felt slightly awkward and smiled, nodding his head.
Lin Xiu across the table also slightly nodded, then quietly moved his gaze away.
“Today’s meeting is regarding the formation of the live streaming team. After initial discussion, Li Li from Sales Department One will form the team. Does anyone have any objections?” Chen Junsheng’s gaze swept over the faces of the people in the conference room.
Everyone shook their heads. After all, the company’s account only had a thousand followers. Live streaming wouldn’t instantly skyrocket.
Since this was a thankless job, having Li Li take it on gave the rest of them a sigh of relief.
Li Li, the thirty-year-old, capable woman who was named, first frowned, then relaxed.
“If no one has any objections, what about you, Li Li? I’d like to hear your opinion.” Chen Junsheng looked toward the competent woman in the casual gray suit, who was sitting in the fifth seat.
Li Li shrugged. “To be honest, Mr. Chen, I’m not confident we can achieve the level of a viral live stream room. However, live streaming is a major trend in all industries, and I’m willing to try this new segment for the company.”
Chen Junsheng was very satisfied with Li Li’s answer, and his smile became even gentler. “Very good. You can submit requests directly to me for anything you need. This is a special privilege for you.”
Everyone heard this and looked at her enviously.
After all, company procedure required requests for items to be approved by the department manager first, then submitted to HR, and then HR would submit it upwards.
It was cumbersome, and many requests never even reached Mr. Chen, being rejected directly by HR with reasons like “unreasonable” or “unsuitable.”
The fact that Mr. Chen said this clearly meant that Li Li’s requests would be approved directly, as long as they weren’t excessive.
Li Li smiled and stood up, saying with a laugh, “Then my first order of business is to borrow a person from you, Mr. Chen.”
Chen Junsheng looked at her. “Hmm? Who are you borrowing?”
Li Li’s gaze shifted to Wang Xinghe. “I’d like to borrow Wang Xinghe.”
Wang Xinghe, who was named, looked up and met Li Li’s gaze, his surprise unconcealed.
Li Li smiled at him. “According to marketing theory, people’s eyes are drawn to exquisite and beautiful things. A live stream room is inherently a traffic platform, and I believe Wang Xinghe’s appearance is enough to pioneer a live streaming platform.”
Wang Xinghe, who was publicly praised as exquisite and beautiful, felt a bit helpless. “I’m a little introverted, sorry…”
Lin Xiu’s eyes had not left Wang Xinghe.
“It’s okay. You don’t even have to speak,” Li Li shrugged.
Wang Xinghe looked at his brother-in-law, Chen Junsheng. Chen Junsheng smiled and said, “It’s up to you. If you’re willing, you can help occasionally. If not, don’t go.”
Wang Xinghe also didn’t want to make things difficult for his brother-in-law.
So he forced himself to nod. “Okay, I’ll go.”
Li Li’s smile instantly widened. “Mr. Chen, Mr. Lin, with Xinghe joining, I believe this live streaming sales channel will definitely succeed!”
Wang Xinghe secretly worried in his heart, lowering his eyes and quietly sighing.
Lin Xiu across the table kept his gaze intentionally or unintentionally on him.
When he saw him quietly sigh, a faint smile flashed in his eyes.
