- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 31 - Spare You? Castrate Him.
The young lady at the front desk, wearing a delicate uniform and a professional smile, walked gracefully toward Chen Junsheng.
She softly reported to him, “Mr. Chen, the etiquette team is ready.”
Chen Junsheng stood up and took Wang Xinghe’s arm.
“Let’s go.”
There were four partners attending the opening, all of whom were Chen Junsheng’s classmates and friends.
Wang Xinghe wore a mask, consciously keeping a low profile and fading into the crowd to minimize his presence.
Chen Junsheng rented him a studio apartment near the industrial park.
The apartment was small but fully equipped.
“This place isn’t far from the company. It’s easy to walk. Oh, right, where is your car?” Chen Junsheng vaguely remembered he should have a hybrid BYD.
“I didn’t drive it over. Maybe another day,” Wang Xinghe looked at the clean and tidy studio apartment and was quite satisfied.
Chen Junsheng’s gaze was deep. He suddenly asked, “Xinghe, have you still not found a partner?” The question seemed a little abrupt.
Lu Jingze’s figure immediately flashed through Wang Xinghe’s mind.
But he just said plainly, “We dated, but we broke up.” There was no emotion in his tone.
Chen Junsheng seemed slightly surprised.
He continued to ask casually, “How did you break up? You’re so good-looking. Some girl managed to get you, and then broke up?” His words carried a playful probe.
Wang Xinghe just smiled and answered simply, “No chemistry.”
He was unwilling to say more on the subject.
Chen Junsheng comforted him, “It’s fine. Now that you’ve come to the capital, your brother-in-law will keep an eye out for you. If there’s someone suitable, settle down in the capital.”
His words were full of the concern of an elder.
“Keep your sister company.”
He continued, “Your sister is actually just tough on the outside and soft on the inside. After the argument that day, she felt she had said too much and cried for a long time.”
Wang Xinghe lowered his eyes and softly hummed, “Thank you, Brother-in-law, for tolerating my sister.”
Chen Junsheng pushed up his glasses. The smile didn’t reach his eyes, but he sighed verbally, “It’s a husband’s responsibility.”
“Alright, go settle in. Your three meals a day are reimbursed by the company. Just check with finance.”
After seeing Chen Junsheng off, Wang Xinghe tidied up the studio apartment, completely overlooking the pinhole cameras blinking in certain hidden corners.
After Chen Junsheng got into his car, he checked his phone, which showed a live feed of Wang Mingyue eating on the sofa at home.
In the surveillance footage, Wang Mingyue was so bloated she took up a large portion of the screen.
Chen Junsheng frowned in disgust and switched the feed.
The screen instantly cleared, showing Wang Xinghe taking off his shirt to change clothes.
Watching Wang Xinghe’s defined abs, fair skin, and smooth lines, Chen Junsheng’s eyes visibly darkened by three points.
Chen Junsheng was immersed in the warped satisfaction brought by the surveillance footage when everything was suddenly interrupted.
The screen instantly went black, as if an invisible hand had abruptly cut off his view.
His heart sank, and an ominous feeling rose within him.
“Knock, knock.”
The next second, the car window was tapped.
He saw a man in black, wearing sunglasses, whose cold presence pointed toward a Toyota Alphard parked nearby.
“Lord Lu requests your presence.”
Hearing “Lord Lu,” Chen Junsheng froze for a moment, then his scalp tingled with terror.
Chen Junsheng’s pupils abruptly contracted, and his heart pounded like a drum. He felt his heart might leap out of his chest.
He got out of the car, trembling, and followed the man in black to the van.
The window slowly rolled down.
Revealing Lu Jingze’s aggressively cold face.
His gaze was sharp as a knife, piercing straight into Chen Junsheng’s heart.
He narrowed his eyes slightly. “Why did you install a camera for him?”
Chen Junsheng’s head buzzed and exploded.
His mind raced. Is he referring to Wang Mingyue or Wang Xinghe?
But his mind clearly pointed the answer toward Wang Xinghe.
“I…” Chen Junsheng started, trembling.
Lu Jingze sneered, reaching out to yank his tie. His voice was full of contempt. “A beard wife? You even set your sights on Xinghe.”
Chen Junsheng’s face instantly turned pale. He fell to his knees with a thud.
His voice was filled with despair. “Lord Lu, I didn’t know Wang Xinghe was your person. Please spare me this once. I haven’t done anything…”
“Spare you? Hmph.” Lu Jingze’s voice was devoid of warmth. He gestured to the bodyguard beside him. “Castrate him.”
Chen Junsheng stiffened all over upon hearing this. He screamed in terror, “Lord Lu, I was wrong!”
The man in black was about to drag him into the car.
“Lord Lu, you can’t do this! Wang Xinghe’s sister is already pregnant, and her fetus is unstable. She cannot have emotional distress…”
Lu Jingze raised an eyebrow, signaling the bodyguard to stop.
Chen Junsheng scrambled back on his knees, his face completely covered in terror. “Lord Lu, I beg you! I will change my ways! I will never disappoint Wang Xinghe’s sister!”
“I swear, I won’t lay a finger on Wang Xinghe.”
Lu Jingze’s eyes were deep, filled with murderous intent:
“During Wang Mingyue’s pregnancy, if anything happens to her, you will die. Furthermore, once the child is older and her body is stable, divorce her. The child stays with her, and you get far away.”
Chen Junsheng kowtowed on the ground. “Thank you, Lord Lu, for your generosity! Thank you, Lord Lu, for your generosity!”
Lu Jingze warned him, “Keep your mouth shut about today’s matter. Whatever role your company originally arranged for Wang Xinghe, let him continue to do it. Don’t let him find any clues.”
“Yes, yes, yes! You can rest assured!” Chen Junsheng kowtowed on the ground like a dog.
Lu Jingze slanted a look at him, rolled up the car window, and the van drove away.
Chen Junsheng knelt on the ground, slapping his own face.
He later fearfully crawled back into the driver’s seat.
He had almost lost his manhood.
“Ding—”
Wang Xinghe’s phone chimed.
He looked at the red notification under his contacts.
He tapped open the new friend request.
[Lu Jingze]
Wang Xinghe closed his phone and shut his eyes.
He turned over and continued to sleep.
Lu Jingze looked at his phone, which showed the request still pending, and rested his chin in his hand, asking his Senior Executive Assistant beside him.
“What are the chances of a massive, fierce pursuit successfully winning back a partner after a breakup?”
He Zheng adjusted his glasses and analyzed rationally, “That depends on how deep the love was when they were together.”
Lu Jingze pursed his lips, feeling a little melancholy.
“How deep do you think two months of feelings can be?”
Secretary He Zheng was almost suffocating.
“I apologize, President Lu. I’m a virgin, so I don’t understand love.”
Lu Jingze didn’t mind and continued, “Sigh, actually, time cannot measure the depth of affection. Some people you know for decades, and you watch them for a lifetime, but no ripples appear.”
“With some people, it’s just one look, just one look…”
He Zheng adjusted his glasses and said seriously, “Based on a rational explanation, President Lu, what you are describing is more like those people you’ve known for decades didn’t appeal to you.”
“And the person who suddenly appeared just happened to appeal to you—lust at first sight.”
Lu Jingze didn’t refute it. “The first person you notice is naturally the good-looking one.”
Lu Jingze leaned lazily against the leather backrest and changed the question.
“How is the project in the west of the city progressing?”
He Zheng pulled out a document. “It’s all arranged, just waiting for the other party to take the bait. However, there is one variable.”
Lu Jingze didn’t even raise his head. “What?”
“Zhao Yan of the Zhao family is also participating in the bidding. Should we intervene?” He Zheng said emotionlessly from the side.
“Zhao Yan?” Lu Jingze exhaled.
“Check whether he has any external interference. If not, let him participate as a runner-up. If he does, teach him a lesson.”
Hearing that Lu Jingze was willing to let Zhao Yan off the hook, He Zheng subtly breathed a sigh of relief.
He Zheng sensitively noticed that whenever the person named Wang Xinghe was involved, his boss was always willing to add a little human touch to his decisions.
Even though Zhao Yan was Wang Xinghe’s former pursuer, he was still willing to show some humanity.
He was becoming increasingly curious about what kind of magic this Wang Xinghe possessed.
