- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 12 - You Think You Can Mess With Me?
Wang Xinghe had encountered this situation many times. He smiled and politely refused.
“I’m sorry, but I have a partner. It’s not convenient.”
Lu Jingze was delighted. He raised his chin at the cute girl with the cat-ear headband. “Did you hear that? My boyfriend said he has a partner, so it’s not convenient.”
Wang Xinghe hadn’t expected him to be so bold. His face flushed, and he looked away, avoiding eye contact.
“Ah—”
The two girls froze for three seconds, and then their awkwardness was replaced by a knowing smile. They pursed their lips, their eyes sparkling with the excitement of “shipping” them.
The girl with the cat ears secretly moved forward. “Then… should I take a picture of you two together?”
Wang Xinghe politely shook his head, declining her offer. “No, thank you.”
The two girls smiled knowingly. “Wishing you happiness~ Bye-bye~”
Wang Xinghe maintained his gentle demeanor, nodding in response.
“You’re quite skilled at turning people down. You’ve been confessed to a lot, haven’t you?” Lu Jingze leaned close to Wang Xinghe’s ear, asking in a half-joking tone.
Wang Xinghe looked back at Lu Jingze’s mesmerizing phoenix eyes and replied softly, “The same goes for you.”
Lu Jingze laughed. Among the opposite sex he knew, there wasn’t a single person who would dare to confess to him.
Wang Xinghe opened the white plastic bag and demonstrated. “You break off a small piece of the dough stick, hold it, and stretch out your arm like this.”
They stood by the sea. A flock of seagulls circled in the air, but not a single one flew over to eat.
“This isn’t working for you either,” Lu Jingze said with a laugh.
“Just wait. There will always be some who are willing to come and eat.” Wang Xinghe was calm and patient, still holding out his arm.
Just then, a seagull flapped its wings, swooping down to grab the dough stick from Wang Xinghe’s hand, leaving Lu Jingze stunned.
“Holy crap!” Lu Jingze gave him a thumbs-up.
He also broke off a piece of a dough stick, copied Wang Xinghe’s pose, and waited for a seagull.
“Ha ha ha—Look at that coward. It wants to eat but doesn’t dare to come.” Lu Jingze gave the seagull the middle finger.
Wang Xinghe couldn’t hide his smile. “That’s a childish thing to do.”
“Wow!” Just then, a seagull swooped past at high speed, grabbing the dough stick from his hand.
“That’s so fast!”
Lu Jingze gasped, now addicted.
With seagulls filling the sky, the blue ocean, and the cold wind, the sight of the two men laughing together was one many people turned back to look at.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you to Signal Hill. It’s not far from here.” Wang Xinghe realized that seeing Lu Jingze happy made him feel a little happy, too.
“Okay~” Lu Jingze’s eyes were shining brightly.
“We’ll drive. The nearby air-raid shelter has been converted into a parking lot, so it’s easier to get there.” The two of them drove along the winding, up-and-down roads.
“I didn’t expect Qingcheng to be so beautiful,” Lu Jingze said. He had heard of the city but had never been there.
“It’s not even the right season. In spring, flowers bloom all over the city. Qingcheng is as beautiful as a painting with all the roses.”
“In summer, the city has a sapphire ocean, blue skies, red roofs, and green trees. Just standing by the sea makes you feel like all your worries disappear.”
“In autumn, the Badaguan and Daxue Road are covered in quiet, falling leaves. The ginkgo trees are a beautiful golden color, making the city feel elegant and refined.”
“In winter, as you can see, the wind is cold and everything is bare, but it has a different kind of beauty.”
Wang Xinghe loved the city he grew up in. He loved this city of mountains and sea and everything about it. Every piece of land here held a memory of him and his family.
“My boyfriend’s Chinese is really good,” Lu Jingze said, tilting his head. The sunlight from the car window fell on the side of his face.
His phoenix eyes, thin lips, and high nose bridge looked especially captivating in the sun.
His unruly temperament and handsome, bad-boy looks made it impossible to look away.
This kid is truly handsome. Even with that mess of a haircut and a lack of care, he’s still handsome.
Wang Xinghe lowered his eyes, trying to hide his quickening heartbeat. But soon, a smile crept into his eyes.
Who would have thought that one day, I would be so captivated by a man?
Wang Xinghe didn’t answer his question.
“After we climb Signal Hill, we’ll go to the beach to see the light show. Tomorrow, I’ll take you to the Polar Ocean World, and the day after that, we can go to Mount Lao to pray for blessings. We can also go to Zhanshan Temple. I heard it can help you get rid of bad relationships.”
Lu Jingze raised an eyebrow. “Oh? Is Zhanshan Temple a ‘widow temple’?”
“It used to be a nunnery. Many women went and stayed single for many years, but I’m not sure about men,” Wang Xinghe said truthfully.
“Then let’s not go~” Lu Jingze didn’t really want to go.
“Okay,” Wang Xinghe didn’t force him.
On the way to the underground parking lot in the air-raid shelter, the walls were covered with Miyazaki Hayao murals. Under the trees, some girls were taking photos.
“Qingcheng is a bit like Japan, and a bit not,” Lu Jingze said. He had been to Japan, which was also a clean and leisurely small city.
“Most of the buildings in this southern part of the city are German-style. They were preserved after the Germans left. When you say it’s like Japan, it’s probably because they are both coastal cities and have similar layouts and vibes.”
“The winding streets are very similar.”
They parked the car in the air-raid shelter’s parking lot.
Lu Jingze unbuckled his seatbelt, leaned in, and pointed to his cheek.
Wang Xinghe’s cheeks were slightly red. He gently pushed him away. “We’re in public. Be civilized.”
Lu Jingze laughed. “Isn’t the feeling of doing something a little wrong in public exciting?”
Wang Xinghe gave him a disgusted look. “I have no idea what perverted stuff goes on in your head.”
“So~ you’re not going to kiss me?” Lu Jingze lifted his clean chin, raising his left eye slightly.
Wang Xinghe grabbed the front of his black down jacket.
Smack. He gave him a quick peck and tried to run away.
Lu Jingze’s lips curved upward.
He grabbed the person who was trying to escape and pressed him against the car seat, kissing him deeply, completely ignoring whether or not the cars coming and going could see them.
Wang Xinghe finally managed to push him away.
His tea-colored eyes were filled with moisture and a hint of anger. “Lu Jingze!”
Lu Jingze wore a face that said, ‘What are you going to do about it?’ He was like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water.
Wang Xinghe rolled his eyes at him, exasperated. He opened the car door and got out.
Lu Jingze pursed his lips, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he savored the moment. “So damn sweet.”
He got out of the car unhurriedly.
He smiled mischievously at Wang Xinghe. He raised his hands slightly and wiggled his fingers.
Wang Xinghe instantly understood, and his face flushed.
He couldn’t stand it anymore. He ran over and angrily punched him. “Lu Jingze!”
He was laughing while hitting him, but the punches weren’t hard.
Lu Jingze held back his laughter and whispered in his ear, “Brother is starting to understand me more and more. You even understood that pose.”
Wang Xinghe glanced at the pedestrians walking back and forth in the air-raid shelter parking lot.
He covered Lu Jingze’s mouth. “Shut up.”
Lu Jingze pouted his lips and kissed Wang Xinghe’s palm.
Wang Xinghe was stunned. He looked at him speechless, then let go of him as if he had been electrocuted. He was completely defeated.
He walked quickly forward.
Lu Jingze followed with a lazy smile.
He even deliberately shouted when there were a lot of people around. “Hey~ brother, don’t be mad~ I know I was wrong~”
This shout, combined with the echo effect of the air-raid shelter, made everyone—whether in front of them or behind them—turn to look.
Wang Xinghe felt like he was going to die of embarrassment.
He quickly turned back, grabbed Lu Jingze’s sleeve, and walked faster toward the exit.
Lu Jingze’s smile was full of victory.
“You think you can mess with me?”
