- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 81 - Misunderstanding, Anger, and Rage
A surge of fury rose in Mi Yue’s heart as she glared at Elfman, wanting to scold him harshly.
But then she thought better of acting impulsively and instead spoke with a hint of compromise in her voice, “Elfman, I… I’m due in a month. Aren’t you the one who’s most afraid of loneliness?”
“Once the little ones are born, the cave will become so lively.”
Elfman pondered for a moment and found some truth in Mi Yue’s words.
If the cave became livelier, he would never have to fear solitude again.
The thought of a bunch of adorable little ones playing around him eased some of the anger in his heart.
Still, he kept his expression cold, unwilling to let Mi Yue see his thoughts.
With a haughty snort, he reluctantly agreed to her request.
“Fine, we’ll wait another month. But you’d better give me plenty of little ones, that way, I won’t be lonely.”
A faint smile curled at the corners of Mi Yue’s lips.
She nodded, coaxing him gently, “Alright, alright, whatever you say. As long as you’re happy.”
Satisfied, Elfman smirked.
He stood up, dusted himself off, and prepared to leave.
“I’m going hunting now. I’ll bring back food when I return.”
Mi Yue nodded obediently. “Alright, I understand. Go ahead, don’t worry.”
She hadn’t expected Elfman to still have a shred of conscience, at least he’d bring her something to eat.
Just before leaving, he suddenly turned back, baring his two long, sharp fangs in a threatening manner. “The beasts in the Demon Beast Forest love to feast on tender little females like you. You’d better stay put in the cave. If I come back and don’t find you here, don’t blame me for gobbling you up in one bite.”
Mi Yue shuddered in fear at his words.
But she knew Elfman wasn’t joking, the Demon Beast Forest was indeed filled with unpredictable dangers.
The cave was damp and dark, its walls slick with moisture, making Mi Yue feel even colder.
She decided to curl up in a corner and sleep for a while to warm herself.
When Elfman hunted, he always displayed his extraordinary skills and formidable strength.
His sharp eyes darted through the dense Demon Beast Forest, swiftly detecting every subtle movement.
He chose a hidden path, a route born from years of hunting experience and wisdom.
He knew that along this trail, he was more likely to encounter solitary beasts, making it the most efficient way to secure prey.
As he ventured deeper into the forest, he could clearly hear the distant roars of beasts and the rustling of smaller creatures moving through the underbrush.
Yet these sounds didn’t frighten him in the slightest, instead, they fueled his fighting spirit.
Suddenly, his keen senses picked up an unusual scent.
It was a mix of grass and the distinct stench of demon beasts. He knew prey was nearby.
He halted immediately, focusing intently on his surroundings.
Then, a massive beast appeared in his line of sight.
It was a creature covered in thick, scaly armor, its eyes burning like flames, radiating ferocity and savagery.
But Elfman didn’t retreat. Instead, his eyes gleamed with an even fiercer battle lust.
With an ear-splitting roar, Elfman swiftly killed the magical beast.
Dragging the beast back, Elfman found that Mi Yue was nowhere to be seen in the cave.
Mi Yue had tricked him!!!
Fury instantly surged through him, and his massive tail overturned the campfire in the cave.
He let out a series of growls, “You liar, how dare you deceive me. I’ll find you and tear you to pieces.”
However, the commotion immediately startled Mi Yue, who had been fast asleep.
Mi Yue opened her eyes, sitting up in confusion, and saw Elfman throwing a tantrum not far away.
Her heart filled with doubt, “Elfman, what’s wrong with you? Why are you so angry the moment you return?”
Seeing that Mi Yue hadn’t actually run away, the flames atop Elfman’s head seemed to be doused with cold water.
He retracted his large tail and obediently crouched at the cave entrance, gazing pitifully at Mi Yue.
He even made sure to repair the damage he had just caused.
“It’s nothing. I stretched a bit and accidentally broke the wall. So, you were just sleeping all along.”
Afraid Elfman might misunderstand, Mi Yue quickly explained, “I was so tired I fell asleep in the cave.”
Only then did Elfman realize Mi Yue had never intended to escape.
He gave an awkward laugh and tossed a large, blood-soaked black object in front of Mi Yue.
“I hunted a magical beast. Try it.”
Mi Yue shook her head at his words. “I don’t eat raw meat, thank you.”
Seeing this, Elfman didn’t press further.
He busied himself with the prey, cleaning off the dirty parts.
With practiced ease, he sliced open the beast’s belly and pulled out a green crystal orb.
Mi Yue’s eyes instantly lit up at the sight of the orb.
She knew its value, it could not only prolong life but also enhance strength.
She needed the orb, along with gratitude points and merit points, to survive.
Noticing Mi Yue’s fondness for the orb, Elfman handed it to her. “You like this? Then it’s yours.”
A bright smile spread across Mi Yue’s face, her heart filled with joy.
She took the orb and said with a smile, “Thank you.”
Seeing Mi Yue’s lovely face, Elfman shyly turned his head away and huffed proudly, “Don’t thank me. I just happen to like you.”
Mi Yue nodded and crouched nearby, watching Elfman prepare the prey.
His movements were skilled and powerful, and soon the beast’s meat was roasted to a mouthwatering aroma.
Just as he was about to take a bite, he caught the scent of bread, ham, and marinated eggs coming from Mi Yue’s side, stirring his curiosity.
Mi Yue noticed his interest and generously offered him some.
Taking a bite of the food she handed him, he found it surprisingly tasty.
Seeing Elfman enjoy the food lifted Mi Yue’s spirits.
She knew that to survive in this dangerous place, she had to maintain a good relationship with Elfman.
And sharing food was an excellent way to do so.
After finishing the meal, Elfman looked at Mi Yue with satisfaction and said, “I like these two things.”
Hearing this, Mi Yue’s heart stirred.
She understood that Elfman’s words meant he had developed a slight fondness for her, a rare opportunity to earn gratitude points.
