- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 82 - The Black Crystal Bead
Deep within the Demon Beast Forest, hidden in an unknown cave, the fading light of dusk filtered through the sparse leaves, casting dappled patterns at the entrance of the cavern, adding a touch of warmth to the otherwise dark and gloomy place.
Inside the cave, the flickering light of a campfire illuminated the faces of two young individuals. After finishing their meal, Elfman pulled out a leather pouch from his chest. As he loosened the opening, multicolored crystal beads tumbled out, shimmering enticingly under the candlelight.
Mi Yue’s eyes instantly lit up, and she let out an excited, childlike squeal.
“Wow! Elfman, how do you have so many crystal beads?”
Her hands gently caressed the beads in awe, these were, after all, fragments of her very lifespan, each one precious.
Elfman’s expression remained as cold as ice, but a faint glimmer of joy flickered deep in his eyes. He had finally found something that could make Mi Yue stay.
“I found them by chance while hunting,” he said casually, though a trace of satisfaction laced his tone. He watched quietly as Mi Yue reveled in her delight.
Mi Yue carefully picked up each bead, examining them closely. Suddenly, her gaze was drawn to three purple crystal beads.
“Look, there are even purple ones! I’ve never seen purple beads before.”
The quality of the crystal beads was ranked by color: red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple. Mi Yue had a few blue beads in her possession, but purple ones were entirely new to her.
She gently cradled the purple beads in her palm, savoring the warmth and energy they radiated.
Watching Mi Yue’s excitement, Elfman resolved to find more of these beads for her in the future, so she would never want to leave his side.
But hunting was no easy task.
That day, as Elfman moved stealthily through the forest in search of prey, he remained vigilant, his senses sharp. Just as he prepared to strike a wild beast, another hidden predator ambushed him, its sharp claws leaving deep gashes across his body and even tearing off several of his scales.
Gritting his teeth against the pain, he bared his venomous fangs and sank them into the beast, determined to subdue it. The creature struggled on the ground, but Elfman gave it no chance, his serpentine body coiled tightly around it, suffocating the beast until it succumbed to both lack of air and the potent venom.
Yet his own injuries were severe. Blood soaked his animal-hide skirt as he clutched his wounds, dragging himself back to the cave with great difficulty.
In his grasp was a massive carcass, a demon beast the size of a rhinoceros. Despite his exhaustion and the wounds marring his face, his spirits were high.
The larger the beast, the higher the quality of the crystal bead within it. This one would yield at least one blue-grade bead, if not better.
With a heavy thud, Elfman tossed the beast onto the ground.
“Elfman, you’re back!” Mi Yue’s voice rang out before she even appeared.
But when she rushed over and saw him, she gasped in shock. “How did you get so badly hurt?!”
Not wanting to worry her, Elfman brushed it off with a simple excuse. “I just… tripped in the forest.”
Mi Yue held her forehead, unable to believe that a simple fall could result in such severe injuries. Blood was streaming from her body, and a large claw mark on her abdomen was still oozing fresh blood.
Elfman crouched down, his hands transforming into sharp claws as he sliced open the beast’s belly and rummaged inside with both hands.
Three minutes later, he pulled out a blackened crystal bead.
“It’s actually a ruined crystal bead!” Elfman angrily threw the bead onto the ground, feeling as though all his efforts had been wasted.
He sat on the ground, panting exhaustedly, his wounds throbbing with pain.
Mi Yue looked at Elfman, covered in scars, and felt an inexplicable surge of emotion in her heart.
“Forget about the crystal bead. Let me treat your wounds.” she said gently, her eyes filled with concern.
“You want to treat my wounds?” He looked at her in surprise, never expecting Mi Yue to know how to do such things.
In his experience, young females were usually pampered and would scream at the sight of blood.
Before he could respond, Mi Yue walked over to him, gently helping him up and leaning him against the cave wall.
She carefully tended to Elfman’s wounds, her movements gentle and practiced.
First, she cleaned the blood and dirt around the wounds with water, then meticulously applied medicinal powder before finally wrapping them with clean gauze.
Every action was filled with tenderness and care, making Elfman feel a warmth and comfort he had never experienced before.
Yet, when Elfman saw these unfamiliar items, he couldn’t help but feel puzzled.
Such small things could actually dress wounds, and they seemed far more convenient and easier to use.
Though he wanted to ask about the medicine, he held back.
Everyone had their own secrets, and he didn’t care what Mi Yue’s were, he just wanted her to stay by his side forever!
After treating his wounds, the system suddenly alerted her.
[Received 1 Gratitude Point from Snake Beast Elfman. Current Gratitude Points: 56.]
[Received 5 Virtue Points from Snake Beast Elfman. Current Virtue Points: 21.]
Seeing the numbers rise, Mi Yue felt a sense of accomplishment.
Then, her gaze was drawn once more to the black crystal bead on the ground.
She picked it up and examined it closely when the system suddenly notified her.
[Host, the black crystal bead can be exchanged for 10 Virtue Points. It is an exceptionally rare find.]
Mi Yue was thrilled. One black crystal bead for 10 Virtue Points, ten beads would mean 100 points, enough to exchange for a year of extended life!
Elfman watched Mi Yue’s excitement and felt an inexplicable impulse rise within him.
“If you like it, I’ll hunt more for you in the future.”
He wanted to do more for Mi Yue, to make her feel so cherished she wouldn’t want to leave him.
He stood up, ready to set out hunting again.
Mi Yue was taken aback. Looking at Elfman’s determined gaze and his body covered in wounds, she felt a mix of gratitude and guilt.
“Don’t go today. You’ve already worked so hard,” she said softly, her eyes filled with appreciation.
“Elfman, thank you for everything you’ve done for me.”
Her voice trembled slightly, but she tried to steady her emotions.
She walked over to Elfman and gently took his hand, feeling the warmth and strength in his palm.
Elfman gazed at Mi Yue’s gentle demeanor, feeling an indescribable emotion in his heart. Spending a lifetime like this wouldn’t be so bad.
He was willing to give everything for her, as long as she could stay by his side.
He tightly grasped Mi Yue’s hand, looking at her with determined eyes. “As long as it makes you happy, I’ll keep doing it for you.”
As night fell, the sounds of beastly roars and howling winds echoed from outside the cave.
But within this simple, crude shelter, a warm and peaceful atmosphere lingered.
